Reviews of Toby Carvery Warrington
B. M.
As the entrance announces... Welcome to the home of roast. Really tender turkey & delicious roast beef. Plenty of vegs to pick and repeat if you wish! Affordable prices. I'm not sure if it's dog friendly. I didn't see any dog around.

Even though it was very busy when we visited, nothing was too much for the staff. I was greeted by a lovely lady with glasses who took us to our table shortly after our booking. Then another young lady, short with red hair asked us if we were okay and if we needed any drinks. The other lady with the glasses did say she was coming back but the young, short lady served us anyway. She was exceptional. Very lovely. Very kind and very caring. Nothing was too much for her. The lady at the meat station was very lovely too. She gave us a generous amount of meat and had a very pleasant smile on her face. Overall, it has been the best visit so far and I would definatley recommend this particular Toby Carvery.

Went to toby carvery for tea with friends yesterday and we all loved it. The food was amazing as usual and I love the atmosphere in there. The staff were really friendly and approachable and had a laugh with us. It is always clean and tidy in there & really comfortable. We always book in for Christmas Dinner every year as the atmosphere is very festive. The prices are very reasonable on everything... So happy all round 🥰

Caters so well for vegans. We were served today by Hannah, who informed me all the veg is cooked without dairy and asked the kitchen to make vegan friendly mash to go with my mushroom and ale pie. Really enjoyed the meal and the service was fab.

We overheard a complaint being dealt with by the Manager Mark. He handled it in an excellent manner. We found the staff (Karen) to be helpful and friendly. We did provide some feedback on site regarding the heat of the vegetables and the treacle pudding being burnt. Overall it was a pleasant visit.

I met up with friend for a catch up, due to the weather it was very quiet. So mostly a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had the carvery but it looked dried up and even burnt on some dishes. It had obviously been on display for a long time and put you off a great many dishes. The only fresh looking veg was the peas which I don't like. Both me and my friend ended up leaving things on our plates and didn't put as much on the plate as we usually would. In there defence the gamon was perfect and surprisingly so we're the roast potatoes.

The food is amazing but they cannot keep on top of demand at all. Both times that I've visited here I've ended up being up and down from my table to get whatever I had to miss. They seem to only bring out about 5 eggs at a time and the last time we visited we were a party of 9 so it was a bit of a pain. We didn't get to sit down and eat together at all!
P. H.
Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.
Again on visiting a Toby carvery I think the building is very tired and gives a terrible impression.
We have been to Mickle Trafford too and this is the same.
For this reason I would not be able to recommend to friends but other than this it was good.THANKS.
A. J.
Nothing better than a good roast. Great selection all of which was great. Helpful and friendly staff. Would return again when in the area without hesitation.

Not the best Toby carvery I've been to but not the worst staff overall were good the sauces were all empty apart from horseradish which had a thick crust on it food was nice but everything seemed in disarray I had booked on my app and was shown to table straight away then left luckily I'm a veteran of Toby so went straight for carvery then after we sat down with carvery I had to pull a member of staff for drinks and she didn't like me asking maybe I've been spoilt with my local one in Horsforth the Eleventh Earl is so good and staff are attentive we have not had a bad meal there
L. P.
not impressed this time unfortunately.
roast potatoes obviously been reheated and quite well done on outside. 2nd skin on the inside and no potato
dauphinois potatoes were still hard slightly raw and the sauce very runny.
had to wait along time for peas and green beans
no gravy or condiments and no one around to ask. sat down and waited for someone to pass whobthen was able to get us these after we started watjng as our dinners were getring cold.
staff excellent well mannered and engaging had lovely conversation cannot fault them.
not happy with the dinner this time Toby , so on this visit no recommendations
A. M.
The server was polite and courteous as where the ither members of staff, at the carvery we had to wait a little while as the chef was also doing just eat orders and seemed really busy he did apologise for keeping us waiting, but he seemed a little stretched, the meal was delicious couldn't fault it
M. S.
£30 for 3 carvery and 3 refill drinks on a saturday very good price loads of tables to eat at indoor and outdoor tables water bowl also provided outside for dogs
K. M.
We had maddy as our server, she was very helpful & polite knowledgeable of the sounded area & food wasn't bad 👍
L. M.
Absolutly beautiful food, service was phenomenal, maitre de/head waiter \ all staff have been brilliant, thankyou
M. C.
My Grandson chose Toby carvery for his birthday tea with the family. Reading some previous reviews I was a little apprehensive. However I was pleasantly surprised. Each & every one of the staff were very professional & engaging. Our server Louis was exceptional he was pleasant, friendly, informative & efficient nothing was too much trouble. The server at the carvery counter was also very friendly & professional as were the staff at the entrance. The carvery counter was kept well stocked, clean & tidy. The food was very nice & good value. Thank you
M. R.
Came at 9am on a Thursday (opens at 9am not 8am as per website)
The food was fresh and the eggs soft, this makes me happy.
The staff were friendly and welcoming,
So a good breakfast was had by us all and for £7 each including coffee... Bargain.
M. L.
Good carvery. Great service. We went for the large carvery and got just about the right amount of meat. The standard one is too little meat, or maybe we were just unfortunate to have a carver who was mean.
Does as it says on the tin. Table service will top notch.
L. B.
Pretty good, good food, good service!
Did notice the heat lights were on some of the serving spoons so they were a bit hot to handle. Both bowls of Tobys famous gravy were empty but they were quickly replenished.
Assessible toilet was a little untidy, wet floor and tissue on the sink. But I probably just went between cleaning.
K. K.
Not too busy. We went on a Sunday but it was not too busy, but we did book. They had 4 meats on the Carvery and it was all very yummy.
Just remember that the carvery is cheapest on a week day and only slightly more expensive on a Saturday. Sunday is the most expensive
T. M.
Great food great staff. Nothing more to say.
P. G.
Don't order for takeaway. We just did. £20 for a big pack of vegetables... Tiny bit of meat. Disappointed, but if you eat in its nice.
It tasted good, a bit unsalted, but everyone has its own taste. The ciabatta garlic bread was great. 3 stars only, because we want more meat less vegetables :)
H. A.
The 07/03/2020 3 of us all Adults went for a carvery lunch,We hadn’t booked in just turned up, the food was lovely, piping hot and the lady serving the cooked meats at the carvery made our day, she was very welcoming, very polite indeed and made us Smile, she is most definitely an asset to that business and we will be returning. I hope this message gets back to her and her management, 5 star customer service!!!! Highly recommended indeed.
Kindest of Regards
Heidi, Maggs and Ryan😊

Very skimpy on the meats, the carver sliced so thin and gave so little meat on the plate it couldn't have made a sandwich, I got the beef and what I did get was chewy gristle, I mentioned it was a bit skimpy but I was ignored. The vegetables were meh. Ok. My 2nd time there.
D. F.
What a brilliant price for a slap up meal and at £5.74 for myself as a vegetarian.....WOW I couldn't begin to make it myself for this price. Nice and hot and in very pleasant surroundings, what more could I want?
N. P.
Place is easy to find with plenty of parking. Inside it is similar to other Toby Carvery restaurants. Staff are friendly. Only had the breakfast so far, which was good with a nice selection. Hash browns were missing, which was a bummer, however cannot complain too much given the low price for a breakfast buffet. Would visit again.
M. T.
Came in last week for a cavern, Was absolutely delicious, very welcoming environment and especially the young girl that served us - Thanks Katie you put a smile on our faces 👌🏻
We will be back 😁👍🏻
C. &. D.
Enjoyed table service for drinks . All staff were very friendly and happy. Carvery had a great selection and was piping hot
g. 0.
I had an excellent time, staff are lovely amazing waitor called Callum very understanding to my dietary requirement. Will definitely be coming again!
S. M.
A lovely treat after a great afternoon at the races. Very pleasant staff. Food hot & plentiful
D. T.
I went to celebrate my birthday 🥳 I am more than pleased, the food was great as was the staff, thank you
S. J.
The carvery was lovely as always, food was piping hot and the meat was cooked perfectly. Hardly any queue at the food counter, we ate aroumd 530pm and it seems a good time as by 6pm to 615pm, it was starting to fill up! Monday to Saturday, you can add a pudding for £1.99, you can get that to take out also if you wish. My only small moan is that it was so, so hot in there! Quite a warm night outside anyway at the time (14C) and so the air con would have been lovely!
J. P.
Was ok the beef was elastic and unedible but the service was fast shame about the meat probably won't bother again as there's a nicer one closer to home
j. w.
Dine in. It was very busy, the carvery serving area was filthy, nothing topped up. It took a customer to ask where the veg and gravy was. 29.6.22
J. D. (.
Loved it cracking food an top staff well recommended
G. D.
Great food. Reasonable price. It was a bit quite in the restaurant. Chef serving at the carvery was very friendly & gave me a good portion.
M. O.
The pudding tasted Burt The staff were friendly The first part of the meal was fine
G. P.
Great food, they skimped on the meat, but the over all experience was a nice afternoon. The staff and service were excellent. Would return and recommend it to others.

So we tried our first Toby Carvery breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly the breakfast options were a lot better than some breakfast buffets, the yorkies were huge and went like hot cakes. The potatoe hash was really good and the sausages were just to my liking. The bacon and eggs were a lil underdone for us and the food could have been hotter and replenished quicker so there wasn’t a mad rush for the best bits when they were bought out. Drinks are separately charged, the tea/coffee is unlimited however the orange is not.
Location wise it was easy to find but the parking spots are a lil cramped. The path leading from the car park to the entrance is fairly dangerous if you are visually or physically impaired. The slabs are uneven and some move when you step on them. I couldn’t imagine a wheelchair or pram could easily navigate it, let alone if you’ve had a few pints haha! Staff were nice and the inside was clean and open.
Overall, I’d return for breakfast if I was in the area.
D. H.
Great food and great staff ...will be back soon ...keep up the great work
R. P.
Staff nice and friendly thats why the three stars but the roast potatoes were disgusting yellow and burnt. The treacle sponge and custard was yummy but not enough custard.
V. B.
We went for breakfast with Santa and had a great time. The staff were lovely, the food was really nice and fresh and the chefs were constantly bringing out more. Me and my mum are vegetarian and were brought 3 sausages each cooked fresh and separate from the other food which I really appreciated. Santa spent ages with my kids making them laugh and really engaged with them. They got a little goody bag with crayons and lollies in there as a nice little treat from Santa. I would 100% go back here.
L. D.
Fast service, really friendly and helpful staff, and the usual very tasty carvery, couldn't fault them
m. h.
The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly will definitely come again thank you.
A. V.
A really pleasant meal and polite curteous staff. Food was very tasty and hot.
C. L.
Just had a lovely carvery meal with my wife and granddaughter, we were virtually the first to get our meals so everything was really fresh, clean plates all round.
The Toby was spotlessly clean and windows ajar for the air to circulate, beit a bit chilly. Love coming here for meals.
p. h.
Used this place a lot before lockdown for breakfast and very good but the food was only warm (and we went in as they opened) and the sausage were of poor quality
R. B.
We had the carvery and it was very tasty, the staff are very friendly and I would recommend trying this place
t. p.
Carvery was nice turkey was probably the best, really enjoyed having mac n cheese didn't know that was ever an option plus gravy was good too. May go again
g. b.
The food is delicious. I had a big carvery with plenty of meat. The staff were extremely friendly and couldnt do enough for me and my son, who has autism. Hannah in particular - thankyou hannah, you made my sons day"
H. H.
Absolutely delightful food. Brilliant service would reccomend if you want brilliant quality food. I had a lovely meal here with my family.
a. b.
we had a lovely time here. the food was delicious. it was extremely busy with queues for the carvery, but was well worth it.
C. M.
helpful staff.
was able to use the tablet to look up my daughter's allergy to see if there was anything she couldn't eat. Thankfully her allergy wasn't not present in any of the breakfast food however had there been an issue the team member speaking with me said they would cook her food to order.
S. G.
Excellent food and the staff are always very warm and welcoming. Can't do enough...👍👍👍👍👍
c. w.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal .
z.
Amazing flavour and lovely food. Beer and food was amazing and happy to be there. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
m. s.
Food good ,service was fine nice staff .
J. J.
Once again a lovely meal. Service was great. Special mention for the carver “Rory”. He interacted with everyone he served like he knew them personally. All the staff are friendly but I would like to recommend Rory especially for his special attention to everyone he served in a professional, friendly manner. Well done Rory. The 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ are for you.
m. h.
Wow just came home from the carvery and still feeling full , we had to ask for our desert's to take home , 10 out of 10 for everything it was such a delight thank you and we hope to come back for the second time xx
C.
Go for dinner here at least once a month, the choice is amazing and the staff are great.
C. H.

P. M.
Excellent service, lovely breakfast
A. H.
Brilliant carvery as always! Even though it was busy the queue moves through very quickly! Would 100% recommend.
C. J.
Very nice food and friendly staff. Would recommend.
D. R.
Excellent service from the staff Very clean always hand sanitizer available food was lovely
S. B.
Great to visit again after lock down. Have missed my carveries. 😊 But does Need more vegetarian and vegan choices to go with carvery vegatables - not pasta dishes. Not sure about the rest if the menu as I always have the carvery. Nevertheless I will be back. Basic no frills dining area, and great for a mid week treat. Good service.
A. R.
Staff are really friendly, food is at expected quality.. nothing incredible.
S. “. E.
By far, one of the best Sunday roast experiences I've ever had.
K. L.
Delicious meal and the waitress we had was lovely and professional
D. H.
Fab all you can eat breakfast, staff friendly. 😋
A. C.
Usually the best roast but was very slow.. No gammon.. Had to wait for yorkshires
L. F.
Good food, but drinks did not arrive until the end of the meal after asking a number of times. Waste of time asking for refillable cold drinks as we only manages to get one! Disappointing that no option for decaf hot drinks other than coffee too.
B. J.
Bit manic due to 50% off vouchers in operation but food was pretty good
a. w.
We were attended to very well and enjoyed our visit.
M. W.
Called in today for a carvery. Absolutely spot on. fresh hot food. And plenty of it. Staff great and helpful. Definitely will return again
P. F.
Great place. Been taking our twin Grandsons since they were 5 months old. They are 4 yrs old now & still love their carvery. The staff have ALWAYS been so kind & helpful. Would certainly recommend this place.
M. C.
Went for the 1st time for dinner and i was suprised how good it was... 5*
J. A.
Pretty good carvery beef was good not tough and the Yorkshire puddings were spot on
J. P.
Very long queues for the buffet, poorly managed. Many customers stood waiting in a long line right next to others’ tables. When I asked a staff member a question, they ignored me, another member of staff was behind them, they replied “I think they’ll be with you later”. Have been to other Toby carverys, better to try others and not this one.
i. S.
AMAZING experience.
Food was great and the staff were outstanding too. Really big thank you to Mark and Karen. Definitely recommend the Winwick Road, Warrington branch.
That good we have booked again for the family!!

j. H.
A regular spot for meeting up with friends. Friendly staff, great carvery and convenient location.
M. S.
Visited on 3/7/2021 with my family, had a few beers with our food and the food was lovely as usual. We have visited at least once a year since our children were small as we like to visit Gullivers world. The staff was ok to begin with, then as soon as my partner ordered us a gin and a rum all of a sudden the barman came with our drink and said “heads up this is the last drink we will be serving you!!” It was very early around 8pm and we had eaten food and not drunk at all,I was very upset and couldn’t understand why?I don’t think I will visit again
S. S.
Called in today great staff and food really enjoyed it
D. V.
Nice meal but the potatoes and veg were a bit dried up
V. M.
Quick serve, breakfast with fullfill feeling. A bit crowded, but this place is really worth a try.
The hash brow was perfect, and the price friendly. The waitresses all very kind. Thanks again!
L. B.

D. M.
Tasty food, really good value for money, cheap prices, nice atmosphere
S. A.

Great food. Amazing staff
J. G.
Friendly, cheerful, tasty and didn't hurt my wallet. Delicious potato gratin as part of the carvery selection which was my favourite. Thank you all the staff at Toby Carvery Warrington
S. C.
Had breakfast there food was nice but next time gonna do the toast before I get my breakfast. Only criticism toast wasn't brown enough
M. W.
Staff were great and the carvery was excellent!
G. S.
Really enjoyed it food was excellent and the waitresses don't hover shame about the radiator in the gents directly below the hand dryer so it's rusting got no paint on it
N. O.
Was pleasantly empty and not busy on a Saturday which was a surprise.
We got seated quicker than our booking times and all the staff were nice and friendly.
We would come back to this Toby's again.
D. R.
Visited midweek for breakfast just after the Covid restrictions had been tightened in the area. Very impressed with the staff, as they are doing all of the running around. We were in early so we had all the attention early on but as more folk turned up the staff were really put to the test. The food was excellent - I love a Carvery breakfast so it is hard to go wrong - and while it is a bit weird having table service and ordering sensible portions the staff have really stepped up and kept it from being farcical.
K. H.
Lovely atmosphere, great staff and banging food👍
R. C.
Neutral review, i suppose.
Walked the 1.1 miles hoping for a breakfast only to find out a sign said closed due to power cut, opening tomorrow at 9am.
How they knew they would be open at that time and the power would be restored exactly or slightly before then is anyones guess.
Had to eat at Wetherspoons🙄
Walked past same night at 8PM to find the place was open!
Highly amusing.
A. R.
Great food, hot fresh and quick. The staff are incredibly friendly too.
D. C.
Well I know that every place has there ups and downs and one day can be great and the next not so great but in our experience today I cannot fault it.
We are staying the night at the Premier Inn before our visit to gulliver's world tomorrow and thought why not go to Tobys which is next door.
I can quite honestly say that we have not been dissapointed what so ever from the moment we arrived to now while I am trying to finish my delicious food while having a breather writing this review. The staff have been excellent from the moment we arrived but what has impressed me the most is your Chef Paul, who I can quite honestly say was one of the most friendly people I've seen working for any restaurant, very polite, very friendly and certainly willing to go out of his way to make his customers happy and the best thing is he was doing it all on his own.
We live near Selby and our nearest Toby is in York but would be willing to travel here after our experience today when we wanted one..............
If you read this review Paul the world would be a much better place with more friendly, polite and nice people like yourself.
Thank you all for such a lovely experience.
Dean and all the Crossman family
C. D.
Thank you for my wonderful meal 5 stars to all the staff such nice and friendly staff and service will definitely be coming back again
P. F.
Food OK waitress very polite altogether not bad
R. S.
Great to have a Roast cooked and cleared up by someone else. 4 lovely meats and loads of delicious vegetables. Gravy to die for. What is there not to like?
d. d.
Great all you can eat breakfast and cavery.
M. R.
Nice full English friendly staff good value for money
E. H.
Really Good. Enjoyed. Reasonable price. Good staff
e. m.
Our table was booked but wasn't very clean. Yet again on a Sunday when meals are more expensive there was no lamb asked how long it would be and told still cooking, very disappointed once allowed but twice not acceptable will not be booking again for a Sunday.
C. H.
Absolutely over the moon with the meals at Toby the food was really hot and beautiful would recommend it definitely will be back , booked it on line 7 adults 1 adult is wheelchair bound they accommodated very well thankyou very much..
N. S.
Very nice food and prices aren't too bad. Some staff could do with a bit more care and customer service.
J. B.
It's very busy on a Sunday tea time, however queue moves very quickly. We go there quite a lot, my husband likes classic English food so it's great for him. I like the food it fills me up and enjoyable. If looking for gourmet food it's not for you, the staff are quite sweet and accommodating, one thing that bothers me is the toilets, they are upstairs and there is only one downstairs disabled loo, also it's quite far away from eating area.
J. R.
Excellent food Excellent staff dirty serving area !! That I've addressed with the manager wipe your areas and you get 5 stars
L. D.
Have not been for a while decided to go for dinner the food is so lovely fresh and hot and you get a choice of veg as well the staff work really hard to make sure you are happy from the moment you come in to the moment you leave worth a visit
L. H.
Staff were so lovely service was amazing. The friendliness of the staff was the best I've come across in a very long time. Food was gorgeous
D. B.
Great food, really pleasant staff as always. It was mad busy because we went to breakfast with santa. Santa was really good and was great with the kids. Lost a star because there were a lot of dirty plates hanging around with leftover food on them. Other than that brilliant
C. R.
Lovely lunch today, expertly looked after by Karen with the short dark hair, nothing was too much trouble. She's a credit to the team!
C. H.
Decided to go here last minute with friends,as had a £10 Birthday voucher sent to me off a meal there, made a reservation and requested a booth, which was waiting for us fhen we got there,we had a great time and would reccomend.
K. R.
I don't do alcohol so I enjoy Pepsi. Preferably flavoured. Sadly Warrington only had plain varieties. Where as my local Toby has available all the time even when the restrictions were in place.
S. B.
Lovely meal plenty to choose. All the staff were very frendly and helpful, been loads of times will defo be going again and the takeaway is a brilliant idea for people who can not make it out. Thanks
e. e. r.
Nice meal and a decent pint
N. E.
Good quality carvery, everything tasted nice. Bit of a queue but no more than 10 minutes. My friend and I enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was attentive and professional. Toilets were in good order and clean.
S. E.
We have been in Warrington for shopping and randomly decided to have a meal in Toby Carvery Warrington. It was 12am on Saturday and already a cue. Lovely meal we had, cooked with love. The roast was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was nice and polite. I liked the stuffing and the veg as well, cooked exactly as supposed to be.
J. H.
Food was quite nice. Drinks are decent price.
Toilets are up quite a lot of stairs. Don't know if they have downstairs disabled toilet. Parking is pretty good. Nice seating area outside in the summer.
D. M.
Lovely food bit of a wait quing for the carvery as only one member of staff on there plus all he did was moan about how long he had been on there serving but food was cooked well gravy was a little wet and flavourless
S. W.
Lovely staff over booked and over worked. Not enough staff to cover high demand of bookings for the evening I attended.
I actually felt for them as they were rushed off their feet.
E. N.
3 meals and 3 drinks for just under £30! Food was amazing. So much to choose from, and tasted really good. Also a big thanks to the member of staff who happily took a photo of the family for us -meant so much as my brother has been in the hospital next door for 3 years.
M. H.
Went in for breakfast whilst waiting for my car to be serviced the cost was very reasonable at £6.50 but despite the fact that beans were supposed to be on offer they were not seen. Eggs had clearly been out for some time as the yolk was hard other than that it was all you could eat so still good value. Only saw one waitress the whole time but then.its help yourself. The place was very clean and pleasant surroundings
T. “. S.
Really good carvery all fresh and really affordable!
P. M.
All new way of ordering meals etc due to covid restrictions, staff welcomed us in nice friendly manner and explained everything to us about ordering and how our meal would be served. Staff doing table service was very friendly (sorry dont remember her name) and nothing was to much for her. Carvery was very nice and good value.
D. a. M.
We visited this restaurant during a weekday late afternoon. We had an excellent carvery, the food was hot with plenty of choices and the service was attentive. It's a nice restaurant environment and we give praise to the very pleasant, polite and courteous staff. We would certainly recommend.
A. C.
Went for Early Breakfast with family, Eggs abit under cooked everything else was good , needs abit of a clean windows had greasy finger & hand prints from a previous time, the mirrors behind the bar really smeared need wiping.
B. D.
Quick service, good food
S. W.
Geat breakfast all fresh and good quality 👌
N. D.
This was the first time at this Toby Carvery when I didn't feel I had great service. I had to wait for about 5minutes at the carvery for someone to carve the meat; No one else was queuing. The lady serving our table seemed more interested in chatting than serving the tables. Normally I would have given 5 stars.

A group of us had booked a table. The food was lovely as was the very cheerful and helpful waitress.
Alas, I would recommend the manager goes for some customer service and hygiene lessons, he was grumpy, and held our dessert spoons by the bowl, on putting them on the table they were dirty. We asked for replacements which he grudgingly brought, one of which was also unclean.
H. S.
Food was good as usual, did have to ask for more veg to be brought out as they were running low but it was brought straight out. Only disappointment was that there was no apple sauce.
A. G.
Very nice roast enjoy coming here
C. W.
Great breakfast and excellent value.
A. W.
Great food and not expensive
C. P.
Great carvery today. Clean plates from my daughter and myself
M.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
K. P.
Good social distancing, slow table service, however was bust and was warned of this. Just a pain not being able to refill your own drink as you can't get your moneys worth, out of their control though due to the current guidelines
K. T.
The food is usually good but today it wasn't brilliant. We had to ask someone for gravy after waiting a while and food was going cold, as both pans were empty. The turkey was tasteless and strangely fatty. But the staff are pleasant and welcoming x
A. B.
Excellent breakfast, young man who served us was pleasant and very polite.
Just what we needed before a long journey down south.
N. D.
I visit fairly often on a Sunday for a carvery and always enjoy it. There is a good selection of meat, vegetables & extras on offer and of course their giant yorkshire puddings are delicious! Staff are always friendly & service usually very good. They also do a good breakfast. Prices are very reasonable.
J. H.
We had breakfast here on a Friday morning. Seemed to keep running out of coffee. Food and service were good.
N. C.
A bit hard to find the way in. But apart from that great service, lovely food and knowledgeable, effective staff.
G. P.
Really enjoyed my Sunday Roast today. Massive Yorkshire pudding, fluffy mashed potatoes, moist Turkey, veg and hot gravey, also brought to our table. Thank you see you again soon.😃
Y. T.
As always busy welcoming, well priced. Can't beat the Carvery here.
R. B. (.
Even with the chef's having to pile on the veg and the waiting staff having to deliver everything still ran brilliantly. Great to have a huge carvery again.
G. S.
Very good carvery food, cozy, nice place. BUT, I just ordered food online on Just Eat and I waited about two hours for it to be delivered. Plus, they didn't compensate me in any way for their very delayed food. At least it was warm. You should call them before you order and ask if they promise that it will be delivered in time. It said on the app the delivery might take over 40 minutes because they are busy, but not two hours for God's sake. They have good prices, but the take away charge it's expensive, £2.5.
D. W.
Went on a Sunday for breakfast with 3 adults 2 children cost £35 for everyone to have breakfast and drinks. Buffet style breakfast which was severed by chef. Fair selection to choose from. Wasn't red hot though. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Safety measure in place for covid19. Nice and clean
I. H.
Not easy to get to, missed the turn off in the dark. Staff nice and friendly, their carveries are always good.
B. P.
Toby carvery Winwick Road. Great place to dine for Sunday dinner.
W. P.
Was great to finally get to have a nice carvey with the Mrs after a year of uncertainty. The staff where great and was dealing calmly with a couple of difficult customers.
T. B.
Can get very busy, especially on a Sunday, but it is an excellent carvery with nicely presented meats and an excellent range of potatoes and vegetables. It's increased in price a bit recently, but is still fair value for money.
C. W.
We hadn't been before for breakfast so didn't realise that if you ordered certain drinks when you placed food order that it would be cheaper and unlimited. As there were 5 of us we needed time to decide on drinks, so we paid for food first then paid extra for drinks. Potatoes, were cold/mushy and the mushrooms were tasteless.
A. S.
This restaurant is my favored. I go to a lot of restaurants but here I constantly return again and again. The team is very professional and the cooking they offer is so yummy. I am always happy to have a nice dinner in this restaurant. Highly recommended.
K. M.
Lovely food great service
L. G.
Nicest Toby I've been in with respect to decor. Food was ample to choose from. Service was good. The only downside as to why I didn't rate 5☆ was the food wasn't very hot. Enjoyable visit. Will definitely be back
B. E.
Not as good on last two visits, carvery meat had fat and gristle left on beef and pork so, spoils the lovely veg. Always veg pots empty and nothing to replace certain ones. Seems understaffed.
Offers are quite tempting for price.
c. b.
Nice food and friendly staff 😁
B. J. S.
Some things on the Menu were not available. But what they did have was nice. Very short staffed.
A. B.
Love the carvery. Food is always beautifully cooked, there’s a good selection of meats, veg, gravy and sauces and you get plenty. Staff are always helpful and friendly.
G. B.
Always do an amazingly tasty Yorkshire wrap and the staff are friendly.
S. J.
Our waitress and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Lyndsay was looking after us and was just amazing she brought over a activity pack for my child which he really enjoyed nothing was to much trouble for her whole experience was nice service was outstanding.. Will visit again also food was fab!!!
D.
Toby is Toby innit. You know what to expect. Doesn't disappoint.
S. G.
All you can eat traditional breakfast and after 11am all day time for tasty British roasts. Cometitive pricing. Great for visit with friends and family...
Cons - sometimes, some members of staff are not so friendly (if not to say "harsh") as usually expected toward customer.
B. J.
We went for lunch. It's pretty average to be honest
V. B.
Food is absolutely delicious. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
It's a very well run establishment.
T. R.
This Toby Carvery is a typical Toby Carvery with the excellent four roast meat option.
As always there is a great choice of vegetables and a number of gravies to choose from.
The food is always of a high quality at a very reasonable price.
There is a nice atmosphere in this pub and the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming.
A. M.
You can't beat a Toby breakfast...east as much as you want, as much toast as you want and drink as much coffee as you want...well worth the money . I don't get the Yorkshire puds tho with onion gravy....save it for lunch
W. P.
Visited Toby Cargery before going off to the worksite today. Was disappointed when there there was initially no gravy to go with my breakfast. Upon request gravy was supplied however it included manky red things of some description.
Very impressed with breakfast Yorkshire puddings, keep up the good work.
E. F.
Was really nice was waited on plus nice to see some of my family seems like its been forever well done toby carvery
L. F.
Difficult to get into if you don't know the place, not signed properly. If you miss the entrance you will need a Satnav to retry. It's not too bad once you find it, only down was the roast potatoes not quite cooked enough for my taste.
c. p.
Nice food at a decent price
P. W.
Returned after a while away
Much better staff and food is cooked really welll
B. W.
Very enjoyable meal friendly staff and the food was lovely
A. B.
Enjoyed a full Sunday roast here today , delicious hot food and plenty of it , the staff here were lovely we were served by a lovely lady named Hannah , she was extremely busy but nothing was too much trouble . Will definitely be eating here again .
S. R.
Good value for money carvery. Beef can be a bit hit and miss but Turkey usually very good as is the roast ham. Veg are good when freshly cooked. Huge Yorkshire puds.
P. P.
Always quality food the beef and yorkies top notch
J. B.
Sat here with the family in Warrington Toby thoroughly full after all enjoying a great meal.
Meat was so tender it cut like butter. Crackling was delish. Even my Veggie daughter has loads of good choice. Finished with Apple crumble to die for. Well it would be rude not to.
Staff and especially Manager really helpful and friendly. Will definately come back and recommend to friends. Thoroughly deserves 5***** .
Thanks guys. Xx
A. R.
Very friendly, clean and adhered (on the whole) to social distancing.. 1st meal out since lockdown has been lifted and I would recommend it.. food was really tasty .. all good !!
l. s.
Very tasty food and affordable. Staff were helpful and efficient.
I. B.
Very clean and excellent food and atmosphere.
R. H. J.
All you can pile on a plate we went for the regular which was more than adequate. We enjoyed watching people opt for extra large then when their plate was piled high they would exclaim where am I going to put it. I must say some looked like they had enough for a week on there.
A. O.
It was under staffed when we were there
S. P.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will be going again!
s. r.
It's not as good as it used to be. Try the stone mill down the road. Food much nicer and meat portions on the carvery much bigger than at Toby.
Edit.
Note things have changed at the Stone mill.
Food has gone down hill and Toby now much better.
The Stone mill also suffers from horrendous traffic and parking problems.
C. W.
Good portions and good service, need to book a table as it gets super busy.
k. h.
Food was ok last visit it was excellent and felt we where rushed out
P. L.
We went on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was quite busy. The carvery was good but the waitress service at both the table and the food counter was very slow. For such a busy place there seemed to be very few staff around.
s. b.
Good atmosphere,excellent
Service, fantastic fresh food.all staff were friendly, even though the were all busy...
Jade served us...5stars jade.
We booked in advance,no waiting.10/10. Definately going again.
L. H.
Great food, service a little slow but think it was because they had a mad rush and only a few staff on so not their fault. Staff were helpful and friendly.
C. M.
Carvery was lovely this evening. Our server was lovely too. Thank you
R. R.
Was in there because partner was doing an induction, had a couple of Shandies because I was driving, nice atmosphere and friendly staff
a. w.
nice food, nice staff. could do with a refurb
K. E.
Was able to book a table online in advance which was a bonus. The carvery was lively but lacked a choice of veg & no stuffing >(there was a sign to apologise due to a supply issue so a one off!)
J. H.
Ate here for my daughter's 18th. It was quite busy, we all enjoyed a carvery their was lots of choice of vegetables and 4 meats. It was delicious. We will be visiting again
k. m.
Very enjoyable visit
Staff were friendly and efficient
Food was very tasty and good value
J. M.
Lots to offer for food if you dont want to have a carvery, they have another menu to choose from.. you can pre book a table or just go in which is good if you want a table or just a nice drink at the bar..!! Good for family and friends and everybody too..!!!
d. R.
Toby. Cant go wrong. Good service. Good food.
H. K.
Had a carvery meal here on my wedding day last july. Staff were fantastic all food was put out fresh , only thing is felt a little isolated from some of my guests as there was a wall between the two different areas ( i knew about this in advance just felt a little different on the day) but its no biggie we had a lovely time i often come along to toby carvery when ive got family visiting and we've never had an issue .. they always accomodate for my dad who is disabled .. Looking forward to my visit tomorrow with the family 😊
R.
Good food except the roasties were very crispy
P.
I always come to Toby Carvery to enjoy a nice roast every other occasion. It's lovely and warm, and the food is always high standard. Never had a poor experience here.
G. H.
Went today for the 1st time and was very happy, food was lovely with great selection at great prices, staff were lovely and friendly and the place was very clean with a warm comfy decor. Would definitely recommend and return again.
M. M.
Very tasty food, very cosy and the lady from the reception was very kind and lovely. Will recommend!
G. W.
Wonderful food, Excellent price, Fantastic staff especially the young waitress who served us. Would highly recommend
M. A.
Fantastic food! great value for money just a shame the male staff member couldn't contain his awful body odour and the female waitress forgot half the things we asked for and had a wee bit of an attitude
M. O.
Popular place plenty of seating and the food is of a good standard
M. W.
Good food, good prices and lovely staff :-) can't argue with £10 for a roast and free refills on the pop
d. c.
Been working away for weeks and needed a proper cooked dinner! The food coma is coming! Was delicious
B. W.
Great food all staff are lovely especially the the girl with the ginger hair didn’t get her name but made a great experience better with my family
f. b.
Excellent food and price was great
z.
We came here today and it was lovely, meat cooked perfect and plenty to choose from veg wise, just wish you did carrot and swede mashed together instead of just plain carrots then i would be there every sunday and never cook again 😂
v. i.
Food was nice but it was busy had to wait over an hour for food
S. T.
In Toby today for my sons 18th..18 people we have been superbly looked after by our server Kayla and the Carver Marie was friendly and very personable and helpful
A. A.
Not the best I've had from Toby only one serving the meal so stood waiting for ages think some off the roast spuds were from last night but for what you pay it was average
v. m.
With an allergy its hard to find places to eat. Toby Carvery staff were helpful when it came to dietary requirements. The food was great
p. l.
Very nice
E. G.
Fab carvery. Great choice of food and lovely friendly staff. Great value too
B. L.
Food was delicious one of the best carvery's I've been to now couldn't give a five star review because, we arrived at 6:20 booked in at the counter for a a table for two we was told there was a 45 minute wait we said ok and was told to take a seat and they would call us when a table was available, at the bar asked a non alcoholic beverage but was given the alcoholic version of the drink had already been drinking it before noticing. about 55 minutes later now 7:15 still sat waiting for a table we ask how much longer as we was told the waiting time was 45 minutes or sooner the staff member said we hadn't been booked in and apologies and leads us to a table when we go for food there's no Beef or Gammon only leaving a choice of Turkey or Pork not I big fan of Pork had the Turkey was looking forward to roast beef so was a let down.
There were family's there with kids most had there kids under control while others let there kids run wild screaming sitting on tables and running up and down the bar area. Although the staff tried there best to keep the kids off the fruit machines the kid's kept pushing there luck messing with fruit machines
I'd like to return hopefully in a less busy time and when they have a full option of food.
S. H.
Its a carvery whats not to like
L. H.
Food was good was hoping we could help ourselves now restrictions had lifted
A. H.
Had the salad, was pleasantly surprised at how good their vegetarian options are. Would definitely have it again, or the veggie toad in the hole, which also looked divine.
n. k.
Usually not too bad but this time we received the tiniest slivers of meat, and the roast potatoes tasted like they were re-roasted and had a funny texture, starting to become a bit hit and miss of late, just hope they start to improve.
A. O.
All food cooked well.
Good selection of vegetables.
We love the onions in gravy.
The staff at Winick road are very friendly.
A. W.
Had breakfast with santa booked at 10-30 with 3 grandchildren wasn't told they stopped serving at 11 had to wait for most of the food to be topped up by the time we had got the children sorted out and then ourselves it was 11 we asked for a hot drink and was answered quiet sharply by a waitress that breakfast finished at 11 but because we had waited for food she eventually went and got us another hot drink from the bar.....this is the 2nd bad visit to the Toby in as many weeks
J. J.
Went for lunch , carvery gorgeous, beef was lovely and tender, roast potatoes were to die for, plenty of veg available, staff friendly and helpful, better and cheaper than making my own 👍👍👍. Keep up the good work toby. 😁
D. P.
Food is lovely, staff great, cant fault it...will be going again.
G. K.
Nice food not as cheap as Wetherspoons but tastes better. All from fresh produce rather than frozen meals. Refillable coke. Staff friendly and helpful.
S. C.
Great food, slow service. A new system has been introduced to pay your bill from your table, shame it didn't work for us although we were able to look at everyone else's table around us which is great if you're naturally nosy!
D. B.
Staff very friendly and helpful
K. B.
Lovely food with great company what more could you ask.for
D. D.
Loved the all you can eat breakfast 😋
A. P.
It's a carvery, but it was very good. Service was good too
w. w.
We had a Sunday roast during our trip here.
Fulfilling portions, tasty food with nice selection of veggies, good prices, relaxed atmosphere.
T. P.
Really nice and friendly pub tucked away from the busy road lovely food carvery ect used go straight to work to eat across from it but I will still go in even I don't work there no more x
J. S.
Delicious pipping hot carvery and plentiful.

Cosy and relaxed atmosphere,
Will call again
G. A.
Great food enjoyed it.
J. M.
Really excellent food and service
M. K.
Good value food. Excellent roasts good choices and generous portions. Can be very busy but staff service is good.
Y. C.
Excellent carvery very tasty.not bland like some.
J. S.
Lovely meal - as usual! And you can help yourself to veggies again xx
c. n.
The amount you can get at the calvery is as some loads of choice and tgey do mash which is a huge thumbs up for me because not many calverys do this lots of gravy choices and c9ndiments will deffinetly have a full belly after this and tastes lovely
S.
Good was excellent as usual. The place could do with an upgrade as was quite shabby in places
I. B.
A classic Toby Carvery next to Warrington College, and very popular. Obviously famous for the Sunday roast with a good selection of meats and fresh vegetables, and not forgetting the HUGE Yorkshire puddings, yes two please 😋, we'll be back.
N. B.
Lovely meal, beef very tasty and tender and great variety of very tasty roasties and vegetables. Very good service, waitress was very friendly and there when we needed her, thanks very much for a lovely evening.
m. h.
Love their carvery always plenty of choice and good service. Always go there when we are in Warrington. Also love there breakfast, again plenty of choice and very reasonably priced.
m. c.
Very friendly staff and the food was lovely.
B. c.
Fantastic to have a range of vegan optionso. They even offered to veganise some non vegan options. And a chocolate and cherry vegan pudding to Boot! Staff were helpful and friendly. Now if they would just do a vegan starter...
R. D.
I would recommend it as a good food pub. There's a nice outside seating area. Fairly expensive. Nice place to take the family for a meal.
S. W.
Great meal all food lovely and hot very pleasant staff. Will go again when in the area
g. c.
food at breakfast was ok, apart from no fried eggs or beans. every time i have been to toby, the staff are so miserable it makes me wonder why they do the job, are they trained to be like this to make you feel so uncomfortable that you leave asap?
P. S.
Nice cheerful service, good food, one of the best Tobys we have been to. A little bit difficult to find the way to drive to the car park though!
C. P.
Great good Great Price very filling go every Sunday saves the wife stressing on cooking the turkey. Great staff and yes Great Beers.
J. P.
Went here with my partner son and step dad, food was above average staff were great although they chased me out the door thinking I wasnt going to pay when I went put for a cigarette
I. H.
Very similar to every other Toby Carvery. The food is always hot and fresh. However, the tables are very close together, so at times it is rather cramped.
K. G.
Great food at breakfast and dinner. Great value. The toast machine is way too slow to cope when busy though. I queued for over 20 minutes- no exaggeration!
R. N.
Great tasting good..a great carvery with delicious dessert
M. S.
Went for "all you can eat" breakfast. Hot,fresh and cooked to perfection. Coffee plentiful and strong. Staff friendly and helpful. Brilliant!
J. O.
Very nice meal and great service.
D. C.
Good meal. Car park very busy although restaurant quiet. Probably used by people working locally.
Toilets could be better
S. F.
Great service and great food
D. T.
Lovely food, very good value, good service.
E. C.
all I can say is if you've been to one Toby Carvery then you've been to then all, the only difference is the staff.
This one has Three stars due to the lack of staff available to change over the dishes they have food in
A. K.
Well organised, food okay (mash a bit bland) but meat was good.
P. C.
Lovely roast and friendly staff. Carver could have been a bit quicker but prob just needed some more practice to become the usual expert carver
I. M.
One of the better Toby Carvery food wise but some of the waiting staff just seemed a little off, I'm hoping this was a one off and I will be going back again.
j. h.
The food is amazing!! Well recommended!!
A. D.
👍
w. c.
Went for breakfast the sausages where lovely as always but the problem is they only have 1 toaster but this is the same in all off them it's a bit daft so you should all have 2 or 3 toasters and made quicker
H. P.
Easy to park food was great our server was a bit miserable could tell from her body language she didn't want to be there great price tho and fab as children ate for a 1pound will return as it's quite local hoping next time for a server who actually can crack a smile or just be welcoming
Y. W.
Food good, plenty of it. Service very good. Nice roast dinner with all the trimmings, too full to try the sweet selection
J. F.
It was quite busy, the staff were very friendly but didn't attend to us often at all.
The food was OK, typical carvery, apparently they don't do parsnips though
G. H.
Quick service, lovely carvery just forgot my pigs in blankets!
H. R.
Being a Monday lunch time, it was fairly quiet so had no problem getting my food quickly, which was fresh, tasty and very good value for money.
H. W.
Food was nice but service was not great. I'm sure it was just because it was busy when we got there. Very friendly staff though.
A. A.
Not the most romantic of restaurants..
But it is a great Carvery..great meats..lovely veg..fabulous gravy..very large Yorkshire puds..amazing roast potatoes..always busy..good prices..friendly staff..well fed family experience.
c. b.
Good food but been a few times and the toilets were broken on most occasions, sort this out it would be a 4 going on 5
