m. w.We went earlier today. Around 4pm. Staff were friendly and speed of service great 👍my partner said the hunters chicken was a bit dry..could have done with a bit more sauce/juice over it. I had cheesy garlic bread and chips. Was lovely. The garlic bread was so good. Really tasty.

R. S.I love this pub. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. Food is simple pub food, very tasty and at good value for money.
F.e, we arrived last night quite late, just as everything was being switched off in the kitchen, but chef Mike did not turn us away and we had amazing, perfectly cooked steak out and served within less than 10 minutes!
I highly recommend this pub whether it's just a pint or two, or family lunch/dinner.

S. D.We came her for a family reunion, just 5 of us, we have been a number of times and always enjoyed it. Thursday night was no exception, our cousins had never been before and they really loved it. Good hot pub food, well cooked and presented. My husband asked for mustard and they had none, so the Manager said 'I will nip out to the shop and get some, our suppliers are struggling at the moment', and she actually went out and got some mustard which they had only just run out of, what a lovely caring person. Yes we do love coming here for an informal family meal, thanks so much for the hospitality.
L. J.Reasonable lunch, had sandwiches and non-alcoholic drinks. Only minor point, menu says beefsteak tomatoes but they were normal ones. Didn't affect the quality, just annoying as menus always say beefsteak and they never are. Service was great, not busy when we went but still professional, friendly and quick.

The owner katrina goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, she's proactive which is great. Staff are efficient and attentive. Food always well presented and good to perfection. S. M.Warm welcome and efficient service, the only let down was the garlic mushrooms starter which was a thick gloomy mushroom soup that bore no resemblance to any garlic mushrooms I've ever had. We did raise it as an issue only to be told HQ was aware of ongoing feedback but the individual pubs couldn't change the menu
A. M.As a family we have always enjoyed dining at the trigger pond as it is close to home, the food has always been good and the prices are reasonable. However, today's visit was the best we have ever seen. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We ordered 2 lamb shanks with chips that were cooked to perfection and the sauce was to die for. The kids roast had plenty for fresh vegetables, and turkey with a lovely gravy. My husband had the cowboy burger and sid it was probably the best burger he had ever eaten 😋
We also ordered puddings which were delicious, generous helpings of rocky road sundaes and chocolate orange sponge - sooooo gooood!
The thing that really made our meal special was the staff! What an absolute wonderful team! So accommodating, friendly and extremely hard working. The land lady Carina was such a lovely person and made sure she got around every table making everyone feel at home. The bar staff were so lovely and helpful particulary Sam who was only on her second day working there and impressed us so much with how quickly she had picked everything up and took the time to help us with our order. We were also so impressed with the 4 table checks we received. All the staff were so genuine and made us feel special and valued. We will definitely be visiting more often! Thank you so much 😁
A. F.We had a party of 13 went to The Trigger pond, our last experience, pre covid, left us feeling somewhat anxious...however, we were met by staff at the door who took us to our table. They all introduced themselves, the food, the service, the ambience, was all excellent.
The price too, which is often relevant, was very reasonable.

Karina manages fantastically against all odds, Simon is amazing. Will, Chris, Ben and the team are really good on the bar. I see the dynamics of the Trigger as a workplace and it’s easy to see how dedicated the staff are. Some of these guys particularly Simon and Karina regularly work 80 hours plus, highly commendable.

P. A.So Christmas Dinner this year was at the Trigger Pond and they really hit the mark. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service brilliant and the food was just perfect.
We had an early sitting booked at 11.45am and where the first to arrive, we were met at the door and shown to our table, drinks order taken quickly and served just as quick and the first course came out not much after, a short break and out came turkey and all the trimmings including a Yorkshire pudding which was an unexpected addition, literally what we had ordered was placed in front of us with no issues and the food was delicious, perfectly cooked and piping hot, followed by desert and coffee to finish.
All in All a superb meal, lovely setting and fantastic staff, we would have no hesitation in returning for Christmas lunch next year.

Felt sorry for the young lady as she was on her own and trying to serve at the bar,take orders and serve to the tables. Found Trigger Pond very clean and although only one person there service was still excellent. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. Could not fault it. Enjoyed it so much I went on line and booked a table for Sunday 6th Feb. Have already recommend Trigger Pond to friends.

Great place for great deals on food, they have 2 for 1 on food through the week (cheapest free), they also have the same deal on Sunday dinners.
They have seating area at the front of the building and at the back - I think it's also a dog friendly pub aswell (not sure if it's certain areas in the pub though)

C. R.From walking in to eating the staff where amazing. They where so friendly and courteous it was a lovely atmosphere and made us feel really special on Christmas Day. They done a brilliant job especially with there being 25 of us! If I could change one thing it would have been the range of food they offered on Christmas Day I understand a set menu but I think especially for children it is very limited.

The value for money was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We will definitely be returning! Sharon was particularly helpful as she remembered that I used to work for the NHS and arranged for my party to receive the discount available.

M.Good deal on this week with 30% saving on main courses. I like my meals really hot but the meals we received where only warm and the cold plates didn't help. Have had hotter meals here in the past so didn't make a fuss.

I've been coming for about 8 years and we love the 2 for 1 and always served lovely food.
I get the mix grill and love the rump steak and the sausage that come on it, the egg is always fresh looking.

We were there last night for the Neil Diamond tribute, he was amazing, got everyone going and his American/Wigan accent was ace 😉 , although we were looking forward to a Christmas meal, we were told that wasn’t on offer that night so we chose off the regular menu , food was fantastic and great value for money, thank you everyone at the Trigger Pond for a great night!

I booked for 1.45pm after been seated x ordering our meal we waited till 2.25pm when I asked if we would be waiting much longer,the waitress apologized saying she thought we had already been served x would be another 15 minutes. When we got our food it was quite cold half the plate was cabbage a few carrots x 3 roast potatoes which were suppose to be crispy but we're very pale x hard in the middle, turkey was ok but no stuffing,ate it because we were hungry but diffinately not worth the money.

Overall it wont stop us from visiting this place for food & socialising.

Food also took a long time to arrive around 40 minutes. Bar could do with extra staff as when 1/4 full service was very slow. Was already waiting to order drinks when food arrived which was very cold by the time I was served. If quiet would be 5 star but being busy leaves customers waiting a long tj.e for everything and I am a very patient person.

A.Gone down hill this place, we went in with our daughter and he BF recently on a Thursday night, service was ok and food was very good however there was a family in with 2 small children who were more interested in drinking than watching their kids. The kids were freely running around the dining area screaming and shouting, they were climbing and crawling across the ledge behind us screaming and shouting and not once did a member of staff or a manager who was behind the bar challenge the parents and ask them to get the kids to sit with them. Really spoilt what should have been a nice meal and chat with family. 3 stars because the food was ok and the service ok, just needs a manager with a set of cahooners.
