D.Not the best hotel, not the worst. Its a bit faded inside and not exactly luxurious. Mattress and bathroom were both a little disappointing. However, the value was decent even still because the price is pretty competitive among hotels in a similar location. The housekeeping seems to be pretty good and we had no worries about cleanliness or contamination during our stay.

L. H.Friendly receptionist on arrival booked us in easily with no issues. We had 3 rooms which were in in need of remodenising but they were clean and functional. Suprisingly the beds were excellent nice firm and very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice, although bagels and peanut better were on the breakfast menu but wasn't available. Overall a pleasant stay a little overpriced considering state of decor, but being in the centre of Worcester that softened the blow.

A. G. U.Stayed here with a coach trip for 4 nights, very handy for city centre. Room and bathroom clean and comfortable . All the staff were friendly and helpful and the reception manager and hotel manager made us feel welcome. A varied menu for both breakfast and dinner and the food was always good.
t. l.I haven't stayed here but this review is in regard to the hotel and staffs actions during the 2020 pandemic. They gave refuge to numerous local homeless people, giving them a safe place to stay and food to eat. They should be held as an inspration and an example of good, decent people.
N. A.Not a terrible hotel but noise seems to come at you from every direction. We had two double rooms booked and we were allocated nos. 221 & 222 however when we entered the rooms it was apparent that there was a very noisy air-conditioning unit right outside the window of 221. The constant hum (loud) was also evident in 222 but was certainly not as loud as in 221. We were told that this air-conditioning unit, which apparently serves the kitchen, is switched off at 9.30pm so wouldn't affect our nights sleep, what wasn't mentioned was that it switches on again at 7.00am prompt and believe me when I say I am a deep sleeper and it woke me up. In addition to this 222 has the noisiest floor/floor covering you could imagine and no matter where you walk a loud creaking noise is given off, loud enough to wake me again (remember, deep sleeper!). Both of these issues were reported to reception as we checked out on 20th October 2019 but only time will tell if the hotel took our comments seriously. Otherwise the hotel seemed clean and tidy, the rooms were generally a bit hotter than we would have chosen to have but this is due to major hot water pipes routing through the rooms. Would I stay there again? I don't know, probably not unless it was the only place in Worcester left with rooms, otherwise I think I would try somewhere else, but it was clean, it was tidy, and the staff we met were friendly.
L. G.First visit here was a 4.5 down to the exceptional customer service and the room was lovey. Second visit is a 1*.
The first visit, checking in with lovey polite staff, the roof was warm and welcoming and large, with nice little touches like the Christmas scatter cushions and the chesterfield sofa in the room and so on. The WiFi is excellent. Checking out was a piece of cake too. I had an excellent night sleep, the room was immaculate and I immediately booked my next stay there.
The second visit was utter tosh. I was greeted by a miserable, rude arrogant receptionist who literally looked at me like something he trod in. But I just went to my room. Expecting the same again. How disappointing. It was absolutely freezing, so much so that I slept in my coat and didn't shower the next morning as I was cold to the bone. I ended up waking up early when I needed some sleep, and checking out. I was so tired I had to pull over for a rest in my car with the heaters on!
It's such a shame as I raved about this place, but, after my last visit, I'll be hesitant at going back.
L. R.The hotel is clearly steeped in history. It's original features are beautiful and its location is perfect within the town.
The rooms are a little dated but as an overnight option this shouldn't put you off. It ticks the box. Comfy beds and regular facilities.
They staff are polite, helpful and friendly and I would recommend this hotel again

B. W.Good base for a stay. Evidently a grand hotel in its day and with an interesting industrial history. No major issues during my multiple work - related visits other than a frequently higher than desirable noise level (internal & external). Good standard of housekeeping although some other areas of service delivery, whilst far from poor, could be improved to match the image of the hotel.
A. G. U.Comfortable and happy . However, two items of interest and complaint should be mentioned. The standard lamp never worked despite our complaining on our first arrival. Secondly and most important, the restaurant. The first night , the Monday night was fine with good food and good attention. Tuesday night we ordered one drink which took 20 mins to arrive.eventually we got a menu and nobody came for our order so we ate elsewhere.
M. T.I can recommend this hotel. good size room, comfortable bed, clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would have put five stars if they had some more variation in the breakfast (like fruit i.e) but still quite satisfactory. Location is also very good just some minutes away from shopping and pubs.

Room was tidy but the carpet could do with a hoover there were crumbs and hair all over the room. There is a bar with a decent variety of beer, ciders and wine. Breakfast was nice, plenty to choose from and room was spacious with helpful staff.

Staff weren't that friendly but we had little need to call on them other than checking in and out. The thing I don't understand is why they charge £5 for parking despite staying there and the car park only being for the hotel!
s. d.had a lovely time in Worcester, and the hotel was fab, when we booked in the staff member was very cheery and welcoming. The night porter was really helpful when we asked for some ice, as the bar was closed, although we were told it would still be open if we wanted a drink when we came back. He was able to get us some wine so a big thank you Kevin. room was on the hot side, but really lovely. thanks we will be back.

p. h.I stayed at the Fownes Hotel in Worcester for a 3 day clothes shopping holiday.
‘Ash’ the member of staff from Egypt was a credit to this hotel...he was helping everyone as well as manning the reception desk he was also running the bar and answering the phones....all the time remaining smiling and happy and generally being nice to people.
I am sure he will go far in his career and his life and one day perhaps own his own hotel!!!!
There is a lovely breakfast at this hotel well worth buying and the evening meals looked good.
S. C.Great size rooms. Very clean sneaky £50 deposit though. Free biscuits always a bonus. Shower heads need changing no centre spray. Otherwise it's a 5 star from me

M. R.The bedroom was a good size,bath & shower in a spacious room,water took quite a bit of time to heat up! Good size TV,& bed,one disappointing issue however,were the pillows all 4 had very bad stains on them! They need to be cleaned or thrown away.We had to put a towel over them.Help yourself breakfast was very good.
F.Great price for a city centre stay. Stayed here several times and each time the rooms have been spotlessly clean and well presented. The building is old, and that gives the place some character, which is much more desirable than the modern hotels. Fixtures and fittings are a bit dated, but do a job. Nice large TV in the rooms and a nice cosy feeling. Only downside is the parking that costs and extra £5, which they don’t tell you about on aggregator websites.

E. C.I went there for a work do, and had a 3 course meal which was very good. They had an okay selection of drinks however the wine and prosecco we were given was not the best especially for the price. The staff were friendly and we were given a disco for entertainment which was good fun. Unfortunately I did not stay in any rooms so I am unable to comment on that.
D. J.Interesting looking building. Hotel nice enough. Twin room was decent size with average decor. Didnt pay for the breakfast. However i was disappointed when i was charged 20quid admin fee and additional 30quid for changing the reservation date to the following weekend. They said the following weekend was a more expensive date! Also charged 5 for parking. All a bit money grabbing.

Drinks were a tad on the pricy side but that's normal for a hotel really. Didn't experience all of the hotel's facilities so a solid three stars rating given.

From playing only £60 the first few times a stay and the room was gorgeous to paying £150 today my room have got worse each time I come here. Staff were nice but some of the new ones just don't wanna be here. I'm disappointed in how they've turned out.

J. T.This was my first trip to the UK, and it was great visiting Fownes. Bed was nice, breakfast was wonderful, staff was ultra friendly! My only problem was the wifi - it was very slow and made it difficult to get work done.
A. N.Spacious rooms, and good to have an opening window with a fan too in the hot weather, but the furniture and decor in need of update. Quiet situation for my room, and good access to the Cathedral, river and historical buildings.

H.Staying at this hotel was a nightmare, getting a room facing the road, and big old sash windows letting traffic noise come thro, I actually thought I was dreaming it until I realised it was morning time, and now I had the seagulls to put up with aswell, asked to be moved to the other side of the hotel, no problem, last 2days was OK food OK and staff were very helpful.

Miałem okazję przebywać dwukrotnie w tym hotelu. Za każdym razem były to służbowe wyjazdy. Nie jest to hotel nowy, nie jest to hotel nowoczesny, ale ma coś w sobie... bardzo miła obsługa, typowe angielskie posiłki i dobre piwo 😁. Pokoje nie za duże, małe łazienki z dużą wanną. Dobra lokalizacja do zwiedzania miasta. Pewnie jeszcze nie raz tam zawitam.
