Reviews of Squire Yorke - Pub & Carvery
G. S.
We stopped for the first time( holiday) here for dinner. And everything was spot on: staff so polite and friendly, food was so tasted, large portion and dessert so delicious!! Well done all of you!! It's such a shame we live so far for you( Essex). 🤗🥰🥰🥰
a. m.
Food was delicious. Unfortunately we have been charged for 4 meals instead of 3. I pointed that out to the person who was serving us but he denied. Fortunately there was another team member who sorted this issue very quickly. Young man who was helping us was very polite and helpful. I can recommend this place
F. G.
Been a few time over the years but been more frequently recently, nice pub grub, cheap and cheerful! 😁 lovely carvery!
Sally who works there has looked after us the last few times we've been and she is just fantastic! So helpful and always goes the extra mile with a smile! I take a girl I support for lunch and Sally will always give her wheelchair tray a wipe, It's small gestures like that that make a big difference 🙂

The food is cheap, drinks are not so much. Everything is excellent. The carvery is brilliant. Make sure that you look for a discount from work, the AA or elsewhere and then you will have a very good meal at a very low price. The area is nice and the building as well. It’s hard to go wrong.

We decided to try the carvery for a fairly quick meal. It was fine, fairly well presented, with a varied display of vegetables to suit most tastes and to add to the different meats offered and professionaly carved by the resident chef. The restaurant lacked a certain amount of atmosphere due to the few who were dining on a Monday at normal dinner time , but the food was quite palatable and reasonably priced in the carvery, the alternative a la carte menu being unavailable at this time.
H. W.
Got there around 5:30pm as thought I'd treat the little guy as we were having a mummy&me evening. Sadly the carvery was partially empty so only the dregs left behind, the dried up bit of cauliflower and teaspoon of gravy, no sauces ... and the chef was not at all pleased that he had to carve the meats and complained bitterly .... odd that we were charged full price thou 🤔 .... not sure I'll be going back there in a hurry; but with so few choices available with a kids playarea they really have you by the short and ..
d.
Really good food but as always with a carvery the gravy need to be a bit thicker. Service a little slow, no plates were cleared off tables after people had finished.
m. s.
Staff were amazing. Unfortunately the food was not, The meat was dry and cold, The veg was burnt and the gravy was solid . There was no stuffing or cauliflower cheese. The lady's toilet was out of order and the one was

I found this gem of a pub when visiting Wrexham this weekend. A party of 5 adults and one child and every meal chosen off the menu was cooked perfectly. Could not fault a single thing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.
S. P.
What a great find for a delicious roast every day of the week and what friendly chatty staff and cheap too. Bargain prices as well. When you think that the Crown. Llay is 2 main courses for the price of 1 main and twice the price its even better
N. T.
Visited Sunday for the cavery, I have to say it was yuk, me or my family didn't enjoy it, really expensive for what it was, could tell it was all frozen food just been heated up, the turkey was very dry the beef was okay best part was Yorkshire, one of my sons ordered something else off tge menu you when it came out its looked burnt he said it tasted it too. 🤢🤮
The staff clearing the tables were friendly buwon't return for the food.
P. L.
Came here for a carvery but we were too early. Had steak well done and that was a mistake as it was really tough. Great pub if your kids want the play area.
A. I.
Really enjoyed our meals there, saw reviews, so thought oh it looks okay and to be honest I can't fault it, nice place, good food and dog friendly too 😃
A. J.
Amazing carvery, great price, lovely pub and friendly staff. Well enjoyed.
G. K.
Nice pub grub food. Friendly staff. Great menu selection.
Downside the hand sanitizer I tried did not work.
J. D.
We called in this evening having decided we didn't want to cook. We were served by Rose who was lovely and smiley and dealt with us quickly and efficiently. The small plate starters were absolutely delicious. Not too busy. Perfect. Thank you.
M. B.
Came for a meal around 1ish yesterday. Sally was lovely and very warm and welcoming. Food was good and the atmosphere was lovey
L. C.
Food was good but the wait at the bar was a joke to order food. Place looks understaffed.
T. R.
Had the carvery ,meat was cut that thinly you couldnt taste it and the veg was only luke warm
A. D.
Always have a great carvery here, and they play the football too so winner winner chicken dinner. 5 stars 👌
E. P.
Came for Sunday lunch on 28/8/22. Food and service was excellent, good value for money and will be returning soon! :))
J. W.
Brilliant food and atmosphere couldn't fault the place at all massive differences over the last few months
T. h. O.
Lovely food good portion but very busy and took a long time for food to arrive. However there were lots of large groups of people with birthdays so understandable. 13th January. Went for sons birthday also, only four of us one was a baby, they gave us a good table to sit at with lots of room. Very good!
A. D.
Excellent. Great carvery cooked to perfection. Very tempting to over eat and the chef was not mean with the meat portions. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Clean and well managed. Highly recommend and will return.
S.
Great food, big portions with lots to choose from & friendly staff. Also very well priced! John (the chef) went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect. Highly recommend!
D. T.
Ever since I was a little kid my mum took me here, I used to thoroughly enjoy running around in the play area. Also the quality of the food has drastically increased since I was a kid. This is the perfect restaurant. Try the chicken New Yorker and you will see.
K. W.
Lovely setting, service and food was lovely. Every day carvery available
O. P.
Decent carvery. Decent price. Much better since new management
S. P.
Fantastic food and service was amazing nice and clean pub lovely staff
R. C.
Big breakfast, everything was hot and tasted pretty good. Reasonably priced.
Felt welcoming.
A. r.
Pleasent environment, friendly staff. Had run out of certain food items although it was early evening, seemed short of staff.
R. E.
Absolutely fantastic food and staff was brilliant the pub has changed for the better Absolutely perfect
A. B. a. B.
The food is good. My only concern is the welfare of the staff. I've seen two of them fall over, once due to a very sloppy tiled floor (I nearly slipped too) the other tripped over a touched up carpet that has been like that for months, but management have not fixed it and don't appear to Cate about their staff's or customers safety.
L. G.
Can be hit and miss sometimes whenever we have had the carvery it's great but when ordering other food it can be hit and miss
J. K.
Good food nice young man George very helpful but did not like staff kept asking if we had finished with our plates all the time when just resting in between meal
W. J.
Great place to go for a family carvery, can get busy at certain times of the week, plenty to choose from the menu and at value prices too, kids area outside, what's not to like
D. R.
Went on Thursday evening. Was quickly seated. Paid for a mixed grill and a large carvery. Where as advertised u could get three meats on the plate I only had gammon was not offered the other 2. The mash pots tasted very dry like instant mash no cabbage only carrots roasters were hard and the gravy very lumpy. Hoping next visit things will have improved on the carvery side as its was a very big let down as I was expecting much more as my friend reccomended you I'm willing to give another chance
A. G.
Went for a family lunch and to watch the football and while experience was great. Top notch all day breakfast.
A. J.
Food was absolutely spot on, good value for money. Mikey is an absolute credit too, so polite & helpful!
T. M.
Shame the craft beer was a resting and the card machine wasn't working but nice lager and I just about remember how to use cash!
J. R.
This place is fabulous. Nice pleasant surroundings. Staff fab . Food is mega. Great choice and a carvery to boot. Prices reasonable . Especially the carvery. Well worth a visit !
d. k.
Fantastic place very clean good was amazing seem to have a nice new team in there
A. W.
A nice little hidden place in Wrexham serving breakfast both large and small. Quality is amazing and much better than some of the other pubs you can go to. If you enjoy the carvery you will enjoy the breakfast.
J. J.
Absolutely gorgeous. Nice staff too.very impressed will be back
J. B.
Amazing atmosphere on my visit today lovely service by the by the female manager very helpful
J. C.
Great food, staff are friendly well worth a visit 🐐
j. b.
Very disappointed with carvery there was no beef on the Yorkshire pudding was like a rock also the meal for granddaughter took far to long to come we went back and asked fir it twice ended up taking it home as by the time it had come she had filled her self up on her mums dinner might give it a miss for a while
S. W.
Went for the first time. The carvery was amazing. I would recommend anyone to go there. You will not be disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive. A very enjoyable experience and I will definitely be going again
M. M.
Great meals bit of a let down last time as the gravy tasted burnt 🤷♂️
S. B.
We went because it had a wacky warehouse for the children. Found out it eas £4.50 per child for an hour and an adult had to stay throughout their stay. We had 2 children. We decided against it and just had a meal and left. The food and atmosphere was great. Reasonable price and delicious.
R. B.
Had a lovely family birthday meal on Friday. Friendly staff, good food and drinks, great price. All enjoyed our visit.
J.
Perfect for a family get together. Lovely food and plenty of it. Friendly staff. Children can enjoy a place to play. Great time had by all.
C. O.
Booked a table for 7.15, pub was quite busy and good atmosphere.
Ordered our food and few minutes later told they hadn't got the curry my husband ordered or the fish or the gammon only other option was steak pie which when it came which was some time , was quite nice. I had the khatsu curry which was very odd !
Didn't taste anything like a curry ! Mild or not.
It was a breaded chicken on top of a piece of nan bread with a strange sauce and salsa salad served with pilau rice and chips . Just felt like a plate of left overs . Tasted OK but wouldn't order that again .
Drinks were nice and reasonable just wish they had the food we wanted and hasn't run out on a Friday evening.
People being rang to cancel their bookings and being turned away with no food
A. C.
Great food on the carvery, but waiting over 30mins in a que is no joke at all , chef was painfully slow as was his side kick , but you cannot knock the food
P. J.
Great place fantastic food awesome staff
s. b.
Excellent food and a nice family atmosphere
A.
Staff very polite and attentive, meal was okay onion rings tasted very dough like but were edible, clean and tidy surroundings, will try the carvery next as from what I could see it looked really good.
D. B.
Lovey clean environment. Splendid food best carvery we had in a long time. Friendly staff.
C. J.
Hit and miss, never had two visits the same carvery not always hot and last visit service was non existent. You had to hunt staff to order further drinks and a pudding and again for the bill. We can never get the app to work.
M. C.
Lovely food and excellent service and staff
L. T.
Pleasant pub. Good food. Nice surroundings. Very friendly staff. (Only issue. tables by entrance) customers get very cold on cold days because of doors been left open by customers.
G. H.
I come here quite abit and on the whole for the price its a decent place and would usually give it 4 stars, we came yesterday and had the carvery which was nice tbf, then i took my son with his friend into the wacky warehouse part, (again we go their occasionally)
My sons mother and my sons friends mother stayed in the pub part to have drink together, they ordered me a shandy and the guy brought it no problem, they also ordered the kids a sharing sundae aswell, i told them we were on table 87 (in the wacky warehouse part) and they ordered it through the app on their phone. The girl came in with the sundae asked each table if they had ordered it saying “table 87" then got to me i said yes my friend has ordered it for me in the pub part table 87, i dont think she belived me and asked what was the name of the person who had ordered it and she went back into the pub to check.
30mins+ later she hadnt come back, so i messaged my sons mum who said she ordered that ages ago along with two drinks for kids so she went and told the bar staff in the restaurant, 10 mins later another sundae was brought to my table and i was asked again if i had ordered it, i then explained the situation again and the girl said i will have to go and check, anyway 5 mins later i was finally handed it (third time lucky) I asked the girl what had happened and she said there must have been a mix up and i hadnt ordered it the first time.
I understand it was busy and mix ups happen but for two sundaes to be brought to my table (87) and they had to go and check twice if i had actually ordered it, is not really acceptable. Im not complaining as such but maybe in future bare in mind that other people might order from the restaurant part into the wacky part for someone in there. 🙂

The squire yorke is absolutely banging place has changed so much over the last few months
S. W.
Good food, lack of real ale, like none! Only larger 😐
E. K.
Solid carvery with lots of yummy options, other food is fairly typical pub grub, similar to wetherspoons,
Friendly accommodating staff, a good place for a midweek dinner date with the husband
w. w.
Amazing customer experience service is excellent and made even better buy one guy who will go out of his way to help you fantastic place to grab a roast dinner
V. B.
Really nice food and cant go wrong for 50% off
S. W.
A regular pub that offers a carvery throughout the day everyday, not just on Sundays and you can order small, regular or large but we found tge regular or medium sufficient as you can always build it up with veg. It's a nice place
S. B.
Great food, great atmosphere and welcoming team.
K. F.
We were served by John, he was lovely and polite. Unfortunately the food wasn't very good quality and small portions. We also had a platter and it didn't include the things listed.
C. H.
Nice food. Lovely staff. Great place.
A. L.
Amazing pub and carvery amazing staff and customer service the food was absolutely delicious totally recommend. Thank you to Kim and her colleagues.
E. S.
Myself and my family popped in yesterday for lunch, the food was very tasty and plenty full we all had the small carvery. Great value for money, our waitress was carys. K who was a lovely helpful young lady who was extremely helpful with our granddaughter who was a little wriggle.. Amazing play area across from the restaurant. This place is well run extremely good thanks for the great meal and excellent customer service from your attentive staff
J. w. R.
Apart from the fact that they denied that we had booked and were given 1hr 15 minutes to choose, order, receive our food and eat it, our experience was really good. 7 people, 5 had standard carvey, and 2 chose off the menu. Food came within 15/20 minutes. The rest of us went to the carvery. All enjoyed. Will go back to try the food again.
E. R.
Lovely atmosphere,
Sally was very friendly and helpful!
D. F.
Been a while since I last visited. Great improvement. New manager and staff are very helpful and friendly. My partner and I both had steak and ale pies, very tasty. Our little boy had sausage and chips.. Didn't have to wait too long for the food. Definitely be returning soon.
C. E.
Great family pub, can’t fault the carvery! Wacky is great! With lots of events for the little ones! 5⭐️
A. F.
10/10/2021visited your pub(6 of us) ordered food which was very nice.Ordered one carvery was also very nice but it was spoilt by hard veggies( not used to hard veggies) otherwise food service and drinks ok.
j. h.
Decent food nice place but no peas in a carvery lol the only complaint I've got. Worth a visit
M. D.
Came today with my five children and husband and the service and quality of our meals were amazing! Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Definitely coming back.
S. A.
Great place lovely freshly cooked food first visit and would happily visit again.
E. D.
Went knowing it would be busy on a Sunday afternoon, yes there was a fair wait for a table and for carvery. Well worth the wait though. The meats were lovely, not dry. There was a good choice of veg. Good price. Staff were helpfull and polite and although it was busy the staff worked hard to keep tables clean and get people seated as soon as they could.
Went to the play area after, again was busy but good price, equipment was in good condition and clean, our 3 year old had a brilliant time and we were able to keep an eye on him easily from our table.
Definatley recommend and will definatley be going back!
M. M.
Nice carvery, busy which is always a good sign
d. t.
Only positive experience everytime we have visited. Friendly helpful staff and following all Covid rules to best of their ability. We always go for the Standard carvery and always tasty and great value for money. Will keep visiting and good place to go highly recommended.
L. J.
Amazing Service, food was a little late due dti issues with the carvery but was made up for with free dessert for all of our large family. Great food, amazing staff and a good time all around.
l. a.
Lovely place. We went to the whacky warehouse with my nephew he loved it. Perfect for his age at 2 and the time of day not a lot of kids in there. Food was really nice we all enjoyed what we had. My burger and chips was very tasty along with the fudge cake for pudding.
J. D.
This was a medium plate, carrots and roasters were to die for, beef melted in the mouth. xx
H. M.
Food was lovely and staff friendly. However, I am shocked at how many people were being allowed in/ wandering around inside not wearing a mask or following social distancing rules. Made me feel uncomfortable during this visit.
G. C.
Lovely pub with great service. Food very nice and a good price
P. J.
I came for food with the wife and the food was amazing we was greated by a young chap named John very professional and so helpful and polite made our night worth every moment and penny we spent the food was great but this chap deffo needs a great praise or reward or promotion the skills and help he provided us was 100% couldn’t of asked for anyone better to greet us and provide us service while we enjoyed the amazing food here. 5 stars all the way will deffo be back and hoping to see our friend John promoted or deffo rewarded for the positive and professional skills he provided us tonight.
s. s.
The food was lovely service was 5star.We had a young man his name was John so very helpful nothing to much trouble. Made it a pleasure to come there. Really recommend the prices are very good as well.
J. H.
We had the two meals for £8.99 and were very pleasantly surprised! Plenty on our plates and really tasty. Staff came twice to table to ask if everything was OK and were friendly and considerate, a very enjoyable lunchtime visit.
V. J.
Food very much nice, service was good and staff very pleasant.
P. H.
Always enjoyed squire. Think its a nice friendly pub. Been for carvery few times and always been fine. Went last night and understandable they had been busy so there was not a lot left. However i do think we should be told this at the bar before we order and pay. Husband had a large meal and nowhere near what we paid for. Disappointed this time.
e.
Visited on a Sunday lunchtime, seated straight away, got our drinks and then qued for 30 minutes whilst 1 chef carved the meat, he also disappears several times to get more plates, Yorkshire and meat. No complaints about the food or his service however have given 3 stars down to management clearly needing to review how many people are carving on a Sunday. Just to point out there were 4 people behind the bar at one point with no customers all having a right chat! I think the system for queing needs reviewing we pretty much waited at somones table at one point whilst in the queue. All in all Food was great.
G. J.
Great place to eat. It keeps me going back. Food is great 👍
d. s.
I had Sunday dinner here and it had only been reopened 2 weeks the queue for the carvery was very long and by the time we got served and sat down to eat it was half an hour. There was no cutlery to hand and I searched other tables for salt. The chef was a very grumpy man who I found to be dithering around rather than serving people. Over all the food itself was very nice with a good choice of vegtables. But I don't think I'll be coming again.
P. i. W.
Since they started doing a carvery all week and at weekends, the place has got busier. The carvery is excellent, with a selection of three meats, usually turkey, gammon, and beef, and plenty of vegetables. They still have the usual pub food menu available too, if you don't fancy the carvery.
Staff are friendly, food is good and tasty, and the place is clean
P. J.
Nice food, wish there was an option to have extra meat on your carvery
a. m.
Lovelly pub, on quiet area nice outside space.
R.
Went today first time in ages, lovely carvery, good value and efficient service
S. B.
Clean friendly pub.highly recommended as nothing was to much trouble.great prices
.super tasty food.
J.
New menu was amazing. Our waiter john was spot on . Very cheerfull and funny good at his job. His customer service was outstanding
A. C.
Delicious carvery, and great offer for family meal, 2 adults & 2 kids, and a shared ice cream desert which is yummy, all for £20.00! Friendly staff, loads of parking space. Will definitely be going again!
S. R.
Short staffed which led to an 1 hour delay in food however food was fine with the exception of 1 minor issue however was quickly resolved. Childrens menu was really good value for money so would go again however if its busy may have to reconsider.
C. B.
Staff were pleasant and the food was standard pub grade once it arrived at a reasonable price. I wouldn't recommend the topper for the steak dishes though; £1.50 for a small slice of stilton cheese which was not acceptable
J. S.
Great meal as always, staff helpful and friendly
A. R.
Lovely food and at very reasonable price, staff were very helpful and friendly
D. M.
A group of us went here for a meal. We had a lovely carvery I thought the meal was stunning. Staff were fab and we didn't have to wait for drinks and it was busy. Will defiantly dine here again.
K. D.
Me and my girlfriend visited for a carvery, it was 12.45pm so expecting it to be busy which it was. Food was really good to be honest higher than my expectations. Only reason this is not five stars is because the peas are mushy peas, who has mushy peas on a roast???? And also the routing of the que needs reconsidering as we had people all around our table queuing to be served. Other than that, spot on.
J. P.
Understandable busy today with it being fathers day. Had to wait an hr and a half to be seated. Food was still lovely but some of the veg was sadly under cooked. Felt for the young woman trying to seat everyone.
S. C.
Meh, it's alright. Could be better. Always empty. Standard pub food, no flavour, microwave grub. Slow service. Never anyone around and having to wait at the bar all the time. Takes 20 mins for food in an empty place. Staff abrupt but not hugely ignorant, well the manager seems a bit of a cnut, but could be so much better. Only go often because of school being close and a Friday treat after school.
J. B.
Would go again although where we sat it was a bit dark.
F. H.
Amazing visit. Carvery was tasty and will be back soon.
D. W.
Standard chain pub grub, cooked in a microwave or on a grill.
Inside is nice enough, but nothing stand out.
Good for a cheap meal, or a few drinks with firends or family.
There is a pool table, games machine and music box for adults, and a outdoor and indoor play area for kids.
J. W.
Good pub food, I usually have a small carvery costing £5.50, I could spend the same in Maccy's and be starving half an hour later but a good roast dinner fills you up for the day...
It's a no brainer, good food, good prices and a pleasant place to be with a friendly atmosphere.
M. F.
Lovely meal. Plenty of it...I would recommend the Sunday lunch to everyone .
I. L.
It Was really nice very busy food was delicious really enjoyed my self
A. L.
They say you get what you pay for in life well here that does not apply. Although the meals are cheap you certainly can't tell.A high standard is kept in the building with helpful staff and a clean building a huge children's play area sits at the back where children will play for hours (Just make sure to feed them first as you'll never get them out lol). Food service has a quick turn over and although they don't have a huge selection of beer there is still something for everyone. Even though it's a carvery there is still a standard menu for people who don't fancy it.
B. L.
The first time in a pub since the lock down, very nice carvery, friendly staff. Not very busy, but suited me as it was very safe. Thanks to all the staff.
s. j.
Food was spot on , kids enjoyed them selves and eat the food lol
D. J.
Had a few mistakes with are meal. An it was sorted out quickly an professional by a young man call John. He saved our experience in this pub.
A. M. L.
Really good food, serve was really nice, you can take kids and there is gluten free meals available
J. I.
Great 0lace to take the children due to the wacky warehouse play centre at the back, good food and drink with a nice atmosphere in the main bar. Recently done out to a good standard of decor and they also have live sports.
G. T.
Cheap carvery....I thought the roast potatoes weren't made with the best choice of potato (they were bland) the choice of veg was a little dull including mushy peas
L. P.
Just had a lovely meal myself and family very lovely food and very friendly staff thank you oh must say quick service too
j. w.
Very quiet due to covid restrictions but friendly staff and polite, puddings were lovely :)
D. W.
Not high end dining but good value. Veggie curry was delicious and the rest of the family enjoyed the carvery. Will definitely go back again.
M. J.
Good food...shocking service at the carvery though. Waited for 30mins in a cue that never seemed to go down. Finally get to the front and they have ran out of Mash, gravy. It's a shame really could be so much better!!
S. W.
Brilliant place. we made a last minute phone call for 17 of us 3 with food allergies and everyone was lovely and friendly there went out of their way to accommodate us and we couldn't of asked for more thank you so much Jessica loved her birthday meal xx
G. R.
Staff helpful polite and helpful. ..... Beer ok. Tried to book a table for father's Day. Told it was too early before the day. This was 2 weeks until the day.. I have messaged and phoned twice again no luck. ..just received a reply yesterday ... not taking bookings. Great place ... looking forward to visiting on Sunday for father's day...
M. R.
Loved the food there, only been once but carvery was nice, staff friendly and helpful
G. B.
Similar to a westherspoons both quality and price range. They offer an amazing cavery.
Customer service could be better
R. B.
Not been there for a few years but was treated buy our daughter on Sunday was very pleased with the service we got and the food was lovely to we will be going back there soon
C. B.
Great carvery good choice and plenty of it .
Staff very polite and helpful. Excelent
J. R.
This place is back to where it was just wish the bloke doing the carvery smiled more
But well worth a visit
g.
The food is good and reasonably priced. For a Greene King pub, its a bit disappointing that the cask ale selection is not up to much and often, sold out. There's no broadband available either.
D. C.
This is a good green king pub where you can bring your friends & family for a good meal. The pub has a great children's play area for indoor & outdoor fun. There is ample parking for this popular pub.
K. B.
Lovely friendly staff went out their way to accommodate my daughter food allergies. We were a large last minute booking and everyone was great there thank you to all staff for being so lovely the whole family enjoyed it x
D. J.
Decided to have food off menu and not carvery but carvery looked delicious. I had the mixed grill and my wife had the 3 gammons. Both meals were excellent
A. W.
Just tried here after a lomg time away from it.
The manager and staff have done a terrific job in turning this place around.
Very clean, the staff are polite and attentive, and the food was spot on
Will be coming back very soon
J. J.
Fantastic quality of food, always fresh, great service. Value for money.
k.
Great food, great atmosphere, served quickly. Pretty fair prices. Good place for a proper meal. Wouldnt suggest bringing children, though.
B. B.
Very nice compared to what it use to be, I thought it was expensive compared to Toby carvery and the Yorkshire puddings tasted frozen and the gravy tasted like bistro. But other than a million times better than what it use to be.
J. D.
Really enjoyed the carvery
В. П.
I would like to thank everyone at Squire York for a lovely meal everything cooked perfectly has you can see by my photo .This was a gift for santa and his family I believe the children really enjoyed his visits too restaurant and whacky warehouse play area . It's sad that only few people choose to leave a review out of thousands that enjoy their meals every week The funday with santa was very good value admission to play area lunch Arts and Craft face painting a play with santa and a present all for £10 that was good value and breakfast with santa only £8 Santa enjoyed his time with the children thank you for the invite
D. W.
Staff doing a amazing job, but under these difficult circumstances people still walking in with no masks. You must now book and please use the app before hand as this assist staff
M. L.
Lovely carvery...Lovely staff very friendly will definitely be going again. Thank you
J.
Great price carvery, family friendly pub with a wacky warehouse at the back for kids. I personally find the restaurant can get a little warm in the summer but other than that great place for Sunday dinner
J. W.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. We had a carvery which was delicious.
It's a shame that there isn't an area inside that is dog friendly
r. m.
Never eaten here, but carvery looks good. Normally a decent selection of beers, but no cask ales at all on my last visit and some keg beers not available.
J. F.
Very nice place clean and welcoming. Food was very nice.
The service we received from John was exceptional
I. J.
Staff were lovely and helpful.
Reasonable prices.
Wide range of drinks.
Food was mostly meat based.
The food wasn't that nice, wouldn't recommend the gammon, egg and chips.
N. F.
Excellent food but some of the bar staff could be better organised.
P. T.
Lovely mixed grill, although one of our groups Sirloin steak was terrible! Trying to sit down for a family meal with a singer warming up in the background wasn't ideal either.
m. R.
Amazing food beautiful carvry won't go any where else staff was lovely
N. W.
Discount restaurant with typical pub grub. Food is actually OK but the service is dire. Great location, shame really as this place has the potential of a quality gastro pub given the affluent locality of Coed y Glyn and Green Park. Investors and entrepreneurs are missing a trick as I guess most of the profitable trade is going to Pant yr Ochain and such like
M. J.
No carvery tonight just beer. Lots of people eating early on, and a good atmosphere. The pub has also had a referb resently... Personal choice!!
J. N.
Amazing service and lovely food! Would definitely return if I'm in the area again!
Had the carvery bab and it was lovely!
S. R.
Such a lovely place , lovely food, all staff kind and welcoming 😊 will definitely be coming again soon 😋
L. A.
It was ok? Staff seem friendly. Food was fine ,basic but hot and tasty. Price was average for pub meal. Was clean and comfortable. Wud visit for a lunch time probably wudnt go for evening meal.

Newly refurbished with a new menu and carvery
Nice comfortable setting with good pub food
Unfortunately the carvery is bit of a let down but we have found the food off the menu to be much better so please don't let my comments on the carvery put you off.. I
Still visiting the the Squire quite often
M.
Been a few times nice food only not 5* because every time i buy small carvery for my son.. medium for myself and large for my fella.. and everytime my sons small portion of meat is bigger than his Dads large portion i get that they cut it as thin as humanly possible but surely if im paying double for a large portion it should be noticeably bigger....im just pauing double to use a bigger plate...
This aside its a nice pub nice food nice staff.
R. G.
Lovely carvery excellent service 👏
F. C.
Surprised me we met family here for Sunday lunch I wasn't sure on first appearances, not my sort of pub, but the staff were great really freindy and the carvery was fantastic a great selection all very well cooked we will be going again
T. W.
The carvery was great the service was Very good and veryone was very obliging.
Would highly recommend it there was 14 of us in the party and there was not complaint's.
k. j.
Haven't been here for around 5 years as i'm afraid to say the food had changed into the run of the mill " pub chain microwave fast food " , went last night to celebrate my daughter in laws graduation/birthday and what a turn around , had the mini mixed grill and the wife had the scampi , both were spot on and for the price could not be faulted , my daughter had the small carvery ( looked pretty big to me ) and said it was lovely , we are taking our eldest grandchild there on Sunday for dinner , for the price its not even worth us cooking our own !!!!
C. S.
The food was amazing. I ordered potatoes turkey and gravy. It was amazing. You buy a plate and the rest is free. Except for drinks
L. H.
Friendly staff and great food
D. J.
I heard that the new management had turned the pub around and a carvery, so went there with the family and since then been back several times, then i noticed some one i remembered for working the club circuit and to my suprise he said he was in charge well there you go that's why it's now a successful buiseness no need to name drop go there try it for yourself excellent.
T. G.
Just had the best carvery ever at the squireyork wrexham with my family today sunday 5th August 2018 hawever the heat was unbareable in there i know its a hot day but the windows where all closed and wouldnt open for me so it was very uncomfy eating such a lovely meal so i will wait until the weather gets cooler naw until my next visit can't fault the food or service tough
j. p.

D. R.
Nice place to just go to in the week. Staff are friendly and the service is prompt. Good for families who don't want to spend too much.
D. C.
We have celebrated many occasions over the 42yrs and have always enjoyed our meals .we celebrated my 64th birthday this week with the new carvery food and staff were excellent as usual ideal family venue disabled access to restaurant and soft play area wrexham kids can play while you eat the squire York is the only pub restaurant and soft play area in wrexham meals are good value for money I highly recommend this VENUE 5 star quality with 10 new chief's Vince Brown and staff are always there to please
T. L.
After a visit to my old home town I thought I would check out an old haunt the squire yorke on arriving at the pub I could see it was going to be busy as the seating areas outside where all full this made me think I was in for a good time just about managed to find a table number 16 went to the bar to order drinks served by a new starter who had only started the previous weekend he was very friendly and efficient for a newby there where five of us in our group family members so now we checked out the menu and decided to order three carverys and one scampi and chicken burger the waiting time was was instant for the non carvery food so the three of us who where carvers trundled off to the carving station to a very polite chef who dealt willingly with our needs the meats on offer where turkey Beef and roast ham the vegetables where fresh and wholesome all plates where well furnished and wiped clean we will be back thanks for a great evening
Ps and a lovely chat with the floor supervisor who made us welcoming
A. J.
Great food plenty of room make sure your early enough though, paying for a bigger plate doesn't get you more meat not like toby carvery
T. G.
