Visited with my family slightly late in the afternoon - very little crowd - the staff was friendly and the service was really quick. Recommended to hang out here for tourists, friends and family. G. B.Having visited York last year. We wanted Sunday dinner here but could not get a table. So on our second visit we booked a head of time to not be disappointed.
The Sunday roast is lovely, but the service was not so good. We waited over an hour for someone to take our dessert order, and eventually went to the bar to order it ourselves. The deserts were OK, but the portions were very different 🤔 for the same desserts.

T. H.A nice bright and airy pub that sells a very good range of beer. The food is well worth sampling as well. We had the both battered fish and steak sandwiches. The bread was nice and chunky as were the chips. Its well worth a visit if you are passing by.
j. a.Dropped in on the spur of the moment and was genuinely impressed. The staff were personable and shared a joke (an increasingly rare trait), and the food was excellent. We had the haddock and chips - and, since we're from Grimsby, we know good fish and chips when we taste it. This was spot on!
