S. B.What an amazing pub! Friendly welcome, warming atmosphere. Two small bar areas makes for a cozy time. House beer from Brass Castle is a tasty drop. Be mindful of the ‘house rules’ though, particularly the one about no groups.
M. C.Easily one of the best pubs I’ve ever been in. If not the best. It’s that good. Yes it’s small and cosy, the beers great. But it was the two guys working behind the bar John & Callum who made the difference. Honestly if every pub had people like that working/running them, the pub industry would be in much better shape!
M. W.Wow! What a gem. So many pubs these days are bland and sterile. This one is traditional and cosy. Beer is great. I had two pints of Landlord, both crisp and cool.

A. P.This place is brilliant, if you want a typical traditional British pub with the regulars to go with it then this is definitely the place to be. You will be made to feel welcome by the brilliant staff and also the people who drink in there.
The IPA is beautiful.

G. C.What a delightful hostelry. Charming ole world interior in which to drink a fantastic range of excellent beers in top condition. My friend and I came here three times on a three day tour which should tell you all you need to know.

E.We only popped in here for a quick one before dinner but had to write a review because of the exceptional service from the landlord and staff. We are both visually impaired and John and Callum made us feel so welcome and included, really wish we could’ve stayed for longer. Really friendly atmosphere and seems like a great place to chat to locals. 100% recommend and hope we could come back one day.
