Reviews of The Old Bank

Popped in following walking the city walls, so had worked up a bit of thirst!
Very comfortable seating for my tired legs. And quite a lot of seating is available as there are two floors and a beer garden.
Downstairs there is a pool table too, and there are screens everywhere showing sport so it's a good pub for sports fans.
Haven't tried the food yet, but the wings caught my eye. £15 for 30 wings with a choice of sauce, I'm tempted to go back just for that!

Went here over the weekend and had a fab time! The food was great and cocktails were made well! I had a lovely chat with a lady behind the bar, Stacie I think was her name. She went out of her way to make my experience a great one and was a right laugh. Will be returning :)

2 for 1 cocktails, when you order the same drink... Happy with that really. The 'cocktail' was just vodka, ice and mixer though, which was not what the menu described but it quenched the thirst and kept us satisfied in the heat.
We were sat in the beer garden for about 2 hours on a super busy, steaming hot Saturday and the tables seemed to turn over quite frequently, making it a great spot for a few drinks before dinner.

Great chicken and avocado salads. Some nice outside seating. Staff really attentive and great service despite it being a busy afternoon during the heatwave. Bethany was really friendly and very knowledgeable around gluten free options. Good gluten free menu and drink options available.

We visited during a recent trip to York. We were so impressed we dined here twice. The pub is pleasant and clean. The service was friendly. We liked the fact you can order via an app at the table. The food was very high quality and tasted great. The menu has lots of choice. We also liked how the booths had a sports bar feel. We will definitely be back.

Nice big well run pub, sunken garden at back that keeps you out of the wind. Decent selection of beers including a few cask ales. Loads of screens for watching sport. Clean toilets. Can't fault the place. Quality pub

Popped into this pub for a lunch bite with my mum and son. The service couldn’t be faulted with every staff member being friendly and welcoming. We ordered two scampi and one kids fish meal and although tasty the adult meals were the same size as the kids portions and served with what appeared to be a single table spoon of mushy peas. I would visit again but would probably opt for a different meal.

A bit of a mixed experience mid-Sunday afternoon. Beer and bar service was good, with couple of Ilkley Brewery beers on tap. However, two of our three meals arrived so far ahead of the third, that we’d almost finished them before my wife got hers (with her permission, I hasten to add!). My son’s chicken burger didn’t seem to have any of the Korean sauce requested, but I have to say my Katsu chicken with waffle fries was pretty tasty. However, when my wife’s fish-finger sub sandwich finally did arrive, it was pretty disappointing, with a paltry number of under-cooked chips on the side. Great for beer, but we won’t be back for food on the strength of this visit.
