A professional service all round! I was apprehensive about selling my house at auction, especially as I was unsure of all the ins & outs of the process and fearful of a bad outcome. Choosing one of the several auction companies out there to handle such an important transaction was yet a further leap of faith. Fortunately, after many hours of weighing up my options, I decided to approach Auction House Robinson and Hall (at their local Buckingham office). My first contact was with Charles Lovell, Head of the Auction Dept. We soon met at the house and he thoroughly addressed all my concerns and questions and gave his estimated valuation. Charles has many years of experience and thus an in-depth knowledge of the property auction market & process and it showed. After our meeting I felt reassured so decided to go ahead. Throughout the whole process that followed I was kept regularly and promptly informed via emails and phone calls. My questions were answered and all aspects explained clearly and handled efficiently, always in a polite and friendly manner. They provided the property description, floor plan & photography for the auction listing. Also they arranged the EPC inspection for me, gave a valuation, advised on setting of guide & reserve prices, managed updates & downloads of the Legal Pack, conducted the viewings and the auction. All this was included in the up-front transparent fees, with no nasty surprises. Finally, completion was on time. After each of the three viewings I was called and given details of the turnout & feedback soon afterwards. There was a very high turnout at each viewing, which must surely be testimony to the effective marketing. R&H took care of all the coverage, including in their own website & printed catalogue, along with listings on the mighty Rightmove and Zoopla sites. No doubt all potential buyers would be made aware of the sale. The day of the auction (in Luton) was nerve-racking but I need not have worried! The high level of interest at the viewings followed through and the sale price greatly exceeded my earlier hopes & expectations. My special thanks and kudos to Charles Lovell (Head of Auctions), Alex Grant (Office Manager), Grace Hollingworth (Administrator), David Ashdown (for the floor plan & photography), and of course David Jones (born to be an auctioneer!). For me, all were part of a great professional team - I've no hesitation in recommending Auction House R&H to handle your property sale and would happily use them again! Paul W, Buckingham.
