I started renting a property through Brighton homes in July 2020 during Covid times and as a single women anxious through these times and needing to find a place to rent quickly they were very understanding and responsive. Not having rented for some time I had loads of questions to ask and it was never a problem to them, the team were always happy to help and responded very quickly. During the one year I had a few items to report that needed fixing and again they were speedy to respond and always made sure I was about to let any workman in. If I was not, they always offered to have someone from their office be on site to let them in which was great. I always felt happy to contact them if I needed to and would most definitely be happy to rent through them again and recommend them to a friend/family member. When it came to ending the tenancy they were very responsive, helpful and again answered any questions I had. They made it so easy and I got my deposit back the day after the tenancy ended along with the readings so was really helpful. Thank you Brighton Homes :)

Brighton Homes have managed two apartments on our behalf for over five years. We are always notified of any new or amended legislation as well as the action(s) necessary to ensure compliance. They manage the necessary action unless we request otherwise. All necessary repair and renewal work is advised, along with the choice of using their contacts or ours. The monthly statements clearly indicate the relevant property and any deductions such as commission or repairs. All Brighton Homes staff are helpful and always courteous, providing a fully professional service.

Having heard numerous horror stories about letting agents I did extensive research before selecting Brighton Homes to manage a flat I wanted to rent out. Brighton Homes already had good reviews online, so I decided to contact them, and I was not disappointed. From my initial phone call things moved very swiftly and efficiently, and it took only a few days from completion of the purchase, to advertising the property, to tenants moving in (all within the scape of one week). Brighton Homes were very helpful in taking care of various odd jobs that needed doing prior to the tenants moving in, and the charges for these were very reasonable. Nigel and Steve are both professional and courteous and a pleasure to do business with.

Brighton Homes have managed our property in Hollingdean, Brighton for a year now and I have been particularly impressed with their overall quality of service. To be perfectly honest, I was initially quite wary about employing another agency to manage our property (we had a full management contract from 2003 to 2008 with one of the big, well know estate agents) and this experience soured my appetite for management agencies. I even had to deal with many of the issues directly with my tenant due to the lack of communication from the agency to the tenant. The agency had 4 changes of contacts during this period of time which could suggest a high staff turnover. From 2008 until 2016 with a change of tenant, we did not use an agency and I managed everything myself directly with our new tenant who I personally knew prior to renting the property. We were charging a very reasonable rent but of course, I would have to deal with any problems that arose. Nigel said that we would not hear from them except for a notification that the money had been paid in or if there were any major issues that needed attention (over 250 pounds, I think). I love the fact that they efficiently deal with everything. There was no hard sell, just initial suggestions that paying for professional cleaning, garden attention and a proper inventory would be a good idea and make life easier further down the line if there were a change of tenant (however, there were all optional extras and part of their potential service should I choose to accept them). I even sent a reminder to Brighton Homes about a fully comprehensive gas, electricity, plumbing landlord policy that I pay for every month and that includes the free annual obligatory gas safety certificate inspection and Steve wrote back within an hour saying that they had already been on the case to contact my tenant to arrange a visit. Impressive stuff. Long may I hope it continues!

Brighton Homes are the 3rd agent I have used for my rental property and are by far the best. They have managed at least a couple of renewals, that have all gone very smoothly with a minimum of void. I had one instance of a tenant having financial difficulties and they managed through this with no loss of income. The system they operate with their own direct employees dealing with minor maintenance issues is very effective and less expensive than I have experienced with other agencies. I would certainly recommend Brighton Homes

I’m what you call a professional landlord, I have 5 properties that I have been renting out since 2002 and have used several small and big letting agents in Brighton. I came across Brighton Homes by chance when I saw one of their leaflet put through one of my flats that I rent. I have used them since 2012 and waited this long before wanting and be able to honestly review the company and their service. The letting members are all good, I have met all them now and I like the fact that they are all landlords themselves and they are able to relate to me better. Their accounts team which I never had the reason to speak to, as the statements and rents come in on time and are paid into my bank account directly. What impressed me more is that I ‘m able to speak to their property management section 24 hours a day and so can my tenant. From experience of using 7 – 8 letting agents in the past, Brighton Homes are ahead by miles with their service level and attention to detail and the general caring nature and wanting to make a difference when there is an issue or a query. Fees that I’m paying is as the same as I paid to the other letting agents. It’s been three good, excellent years and a correct representation of what these guys do. I have been a tenant of Brighton Homes for the past 3 years. They are very good at managing the property, any repairs or issues were dealt with the same day or within 24 hours. Tenants are not looked after well, but this agency is exceptional. When we left the property, everything was done and tenancy closed to all parties satisfaction. Extremely impressed!. I Google and came across a small independent agent called Brighton Homes, when I rang them they were very efficient and polite and offered to come to my house which is 10 miles of out Brighton, picked up a set of keys, had a look at the property, informed me of all positive and negative things and what rent should be achievable, 2 days later I was called to inform that they have a suitable tenant, gave me all the reference and the tenancy started very smoothly. I actually achieved £70 more rent than what my previous agent was trying to get. To summarise, use this company, they go the extra 5 miles and you get a far better service, they are very reasonable in what they charge too. I have had a few bad experiences in the past, where I was taken in by the sales pitch but when it came to delivering the goods, they were all bad. As a landlord I was very cautious this time around. As soon as I met Steven from Brighton Homes I quickly felt very confident that this agency could come through for me and they did. The staff members were very professional and explains things very clearly. They kept asking me if I understood everything, as they didn’t want any misunderstanding. I felt that they had time for me and they were very patient with me. The property went on the market on the 11th April and they did the viewings the same day and had a tenant by that evening. What I thought was going to be a hard task which is going to leave a bad taste in my mouth like the 3 previous times with other letting agents, turned out to be a very easy, pleasant and I can say enjoyable.
