I’ve just recently started renting with Maslen, and so far the experience has been great. Georgina has been awesome right from initial communication to moving in day, really professional, Informative and genuinely a lovely person. I had an issue with my hot water over the BH weekend and it was sorted really quickly, again communications from the Maslen team was really good. Nice to have a good agent!

We had put off instructing a managing agent for renting out our house in Brighton as we had assumed it would be a lot of hassle and involve lots of extra costs.
But we have been delighted with the excellent service provided by David Maslan. Nick and Georgina, who have done the bulk of the work have both been very responsive, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient as well as very personable professionals to deal with.
In addition Maslen's rates are very reasonable without additional hidden charges.
We would highly recommend them.

I moved to Maslen, as I was unhappy with the standard of service I was receiving from well known national firm of estate agents. The improvement in service was immediately noticeable; both Nick and Georgina were very quick to answer all my queries and nothing was too much trouble. They very quickly put my rental property on the market, vetted the applicants carefully and ensured that the property wasn't empty for very long at all. I am very pleased I decided to change.

Most estate agents don't put as much effort for renters as they do with buyers, but we got the best experience and got shown a few places until we found our home! I am renting a flat with maslen. In the advertisement as well as during the inspection it said the move-in can happen immediately.
First of all the flat is overall in very good condition.
After maslen's confirmed that we got the apartment and our old apartment was canceled, it was said that the council would still have to accept the apartment and we need to wait for the approval. So the day came closer and closer when we should have moved out of the old apartment and we still didn't had a contract after 3 weeks. Maslen was very little interested in the costs and the stress incurred and blamed the landlord for them. In my opinion, the letting agency simply needs to be better informed.
The letting agent didn't think it is necessary to discuss this at and wanted to tell us when the keys were handed over that everything is always done on time.
When he handed over the keys, he immediately indicated that the rent would be increased in the next year anyway. I informed the landlord about it and they could not confirm the plan.
We were only given one key for a 2 bedroom flat even though there were 2 people in the contract. The agent's answer was that a key only costs £ 6 you can make another one. I paid £10 and I requested the reimbursement directly (I pay £ 1200 rent and want a second key for it).
After we received the inventory and did one ourselves, we found out that it does not seem to be a problem for the agency that the refrigerator cannot be closed and a window cannot be closed. We live on the ground floor. Both were listed in the inventory as poor!
Today, after 3 months, I have taken care of the window and the refrigerator and the other things which needed to be done (there were no major costs, but I invested time and effort). Now I should allow access to the apartment as
Maslen lettings intends to carry out an inspection every three months and to take pictures and videos. After I said that I felt restricted in my privacy, paragraphs were sent to me with a long explanation why it should be ok and further dates for the next inspections.
In life, I haven't had such a stress with my apartment.
3 stars for the fast email communication, condition of the flat and the arrangements maslen is ready to take. -2 stars for the stress and energy it makes me when I always have to give access to my private space.
