We recently returned to Harris and Wood to list our property after having a great experience with them helping to sell our previous home. He also took the time at the end to take some personal pictures of our family dog as a keepsake for us, which was such a lovely gesture! We have recently just sold and purchased through Harris + Wood, and if I end up moving again, they will be the first ones I call! Extremely professional, a modern agent with a different view of marketing, and fantastic communication, to name just a few! I had had my home on the market with others for some time with no luck, but within a couple of viewings with H+W, the offer was in! They even ended up selling it to someone who had sold through the previous agent. I have to make a special mention to a few key people, firstly, Marcus, is brilliant, he remembered me from a telephone conversation a few months previous when a house was coming on the market I was likely to be interested in. Paul, equally as brilliant, gave really good advise and recommendations, not only when putting the property on the market, but also when it came to putting in offers etc. Third, James, the photographer, James fantastically captured our old house for marketing, I reckon this is one of the main reasons why the house sold so quickly with Harris + Wood. Lastly, the sales progression team, both Emily's were really helpful! I don't think we would have got there without them! Thanks again H+W, we'll be recommending you to everyone!

Not having moved home for over 20 years, I wasn't looking forward to the process. However, so far, I can't fault the time and patience that I have received from Paul. His initial visit was the most helpful in not just pricing the home but providing further information on fees and stamp duty, etc. He even came back to advise whether I needed to do any work on the home to get it ready to sell. Full marks to Paul for creating the floor plan, it wasn't straightforward. James took the photos yesterday and they are very impressive. He took the time to look around the home and the results are stunning. James was extremely pleasant, taking the time to explain the process. His aerial shots are amazing. He also took some lovely photos of my dog. The view he used was very innovative, reflecting Geordie in the glass topped coffee table. 10 out of 10 for his service and professionalism.

We rented a property that was managed by Harris and Wood for a three year period up to May 2022. The managing agent was Nancy Moye who we found to be extremely professional and always communicative on any issues that arose over the course of the tenancy. Whenever any of the inevitable issues that arise when renting a property, such as plumbing or other maintenance issues, Nancy was quick to respond and always ensured the issue was taken care of. Harris and Wood have been brilliant from start to finish. When we decided to sell our house we met with multiple estate agents and Harris and Wood suggested the highest listing price (by a substantial amount) and had the lowest %. On top of this they said they would sell the property within a week. Now obviously, I took this as a slight hyperbole and hoped we could sell within a month. Harris and Wood sold the property within three days at asking price. The team itself: Marcus was excellent at communication and really proactive in generating results. Elliot was professional and diligent when negotiating the sale price. Jorja held all the viewings and was polite, professional and able to deal with any hiccup’s that occurred. I cannot recommend Harris and Wood enough and when we do come to sell in the future, they will be the first I call.

I have had a bad experience with a previous estate agent, so I went into the viewing of a house with low expectations if I am honest. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole process. Alfie was the person I met at the property and he was very polite, upfront and professional, and also a sense of humour (not too serious or up his own) was a breath of fresh air to be honest. The photographs that James produces for each listing are remarkable. Trawling through the subpar efforts to showcase homes online which are typical of other agents can be very uninspiring. Each time I came across a Harris + Wood listing, I was given the opportunity to truly appreciate the attractive features of a home, captured perfectly by someone who works tirelessly in pursuit of presentation. Further to our initial attraction, we met with Jim who immediately focussed on us as individuals. Really happy with the service provided by the team. Lisa went the extra mile for us in the Sales progression team. We dealt with a relatively simple chain, but there were broken lines of communication between the conveyancers. I have dealt with a few estate agents in the past and I can find they can be very hassling and not very helpful however Harris and Wood are the complete opposite of this! Firstly I need to make it clear that this review is from my own experience. I am not paid by Harris and Wood, I don't work for them either. When I first put my property on the market, I like many others were tempted into the Tepilo trap. Cost me just over a £1000 for 3 viewings organised then no contact?? I was contacted by Harris and Wood and although more expensive I decided to give them a go and I am so glad I did, I had a first class service from start to finish. No Fancy promises were made, I had the truth from start to finish and they just worked very hard to sell my property which they succeeded at. From that point I was guided through the process, updated regularly and they were always available when I called for something. Whenever I called, if the person I needed was not about someone else always got it done. The staff could not have been nicer or more professional at every stage right up until the end. At this point I need to mention Nicola, this woman worked so hard for me every single day. We had an issue within our chain and I know she had many clients to look after but I never once felt I was a nuisance, never once felt abandoned or 'just another client'. She always made me feel like I was the most important person to her and she got the job done! Normally at this point there would be a 'but' then out comes the not so good bits 'but' ...there are none! Before writing this I tried to think of one thing that they did not do well and I couldn't and I still can't. Having worked in various industries throughout my career and having written many training courses on customer care I can assure you that Harris and Wood were top notch all the way! I highly recommend this company if you are looking for a company that really cares about its clients, outperforms all others I have dealt with over the years and has really good customer care with honesty and meaning. It was a refreshing experience and not one I have received in many places before!!

I currently use Harris and Wood to rent out my flat in Colchester. I contacted them in March time with a view for me wanting it to have tenants in from the beginning of May as that was when I was looking to move away. From the beginning of the process everything was explained easily and in a 'step by step' way which was what I needed having not rented out a property before. They explained insurances, management fees and helped break down the financial process so I knew what to expect. Megan and Connor came to the flat and took pictures (which came out really well), and used a big selection to advertise with which made me confident we would have people who were genuinely interested as they'd already seen every room online first. Megan then arranged a day for viewings and kept me updated with how they went and who was interested. Once we agreed on which tenants, everything happened smoothly for them to move in quite soon. I do not live in the area currently and having Megan and the team to just drop a message to, to check on everything makes me feel reassured my flat is in good hands. I would definitely recommend Harris and Wood for anyone else, especially someone renting out a property for the first time.
