Wow, what a journey we have been on together. We could not have possibly done it without you. Thank you, Shaun. Sorry for the long review, but I wanted to give a bit of context on how you’ve helped us get into our dream home and essentially earn your fee for our sale twice over. You are a fantastic agent and a real pleasure to work with. I first met Shaun around 10 months ago when I was viewing one of the properties, he was marketing. I was the 15th person Shaun was showing around the home on that early evening at around 7PM. I was very interested and wanted to make an offer; however we weren’t in the best position at the time and the house was quickly sold for around 15K above asking. At the time, our house wasn’t on the market yet and we had Purple Bricks booked in for photos the next day with the plan to have us on the market ASAP. There was plenty to like about Shaun from the initial viewing which made me think, I want this guy to be selling my home. The next day Shaun was at our house for a valuation and chat and met my wife for the first time. We both agreed that this is the man we wanted to market and sell our property. Why? Well, Shaun is very interpersonal and clearly has vast experience which comes across very well. Unless you’ve been through a tough conveyancing process, its hard to appreciate just how much a top agent makes a difference until you need them. I’ll come back to that later. Shaun next organised some professional photos which were brilliant. We went straight on the market and sold within one day above asking price. Shaun managed all the negotiators and we sold to a cash buyer and agreed on some very friendly terms which allowed us time to find our new home. We made an offer on what would be our new home 3-4 weeks later and were due to complete sometime later. Along the journey we hit some issues with our sale in respect of some missing legal paperwork for our property which was necessary before our buyer’s legal team could complete. Shaun vastly helped in this regard and was the calming voice of reason to our buyer when things were getting tense. This is one of Shaun’s many skills and this is the type of person you would want on the end of the phone when things are not going exactly to plan. Trust me. Anyhow, approximately 1 week away from completion, our purchase was to fall through. It was gutting at the time. Understandably our buyers were to withdraw their offer as we weren’t able to complete within their timescales. Shaun had us back on the market the next day and that weekend we had 9 viewings and re-sold for 20K above asking. This sale wasn’t without its conveyancing complications either and this is where you learn the difference between a good agent and a top agent. Shaun is a top agent, a real heavyweight! He’ll fight your corner and have your back all the way until you’re over the line. I am so grateful to have met Shaun on that evening. How different things would most likely have been had we have gone with another agent as originally planned. There is no doubt in my mind that they would not have put in the man hours that Shaun has. As of yesterday, we completed our house move and what can I say. Well, one thing is for sure, our move would never have been possible without Shaun at the center of it all. He has got the full set of skills to manage your sale and at times seems as emotionally invested as you. Its brilliant and refreshing. The difference a top agent makes when the going get tough is evident and Shaun also brings his wealth of experience to the table, has contacts for surveyors, solicitors, mortgage brokers, his superb interpersonal skills and natural gift for what he does. I cannot recommend Shaun enough. I will genuinely miss our calls and wish you all the best. You’re the best at what you do and I’ll personally recommend you to anyone who ever needs an agent. Shaun took over the sale of our house after we had a bad experience with another agent and a sale fell through. We had friends who used Open Door and said how good they had been so we decided to ask Shaun if he thought he could help. We had already secured an onward purchase so needed to get our house back on the market as quickly as possible, and Shaun did a great job at turning this round within the week, (including new and improved photos) and by the following weekend we were listed on Right Move. We chose to go down the ‘sale by auction’ route, as we liked the security that this offered, even though we were initially a bit concerned about how this worked. In the end it was brilliant, and we felt that the deposit offered a lot of confidence for both us and our buyer as we each knew the other was committed. Shaun managed to generate lots of interest in the property, he was incredibly proactive and arranged lots of viewings in a block so it meant that we weren’t having to prepare for the odd viewing here and there, and it worked well for us as we could just take our kids out and know that Shaun would handle the viewings. He offered advice on things we could improve to make our property more appealing and was always at the end of the phone whenever we needed to check in with him. In the end, our sale was quite complicated due to restrictions and delays in other parts of the chain, but Shaun was available throughout the whole process, liaising with our buyers, solicitors and even the agent for our onward purchase when our seller was getting nervous about delays. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Open Door - Shaun is very passionate about the property industry and this really comes across - he clearly loves his job and because of this he does really well at it!
