Smart Property saved me when I couldn't find a 6-month short term rental in Edinburgh. Not only did they find a great apartment but an equally great landlord. I dealt with Kat Usher briefly but mostly had Gregor as my problem solver and support. Gregor is great. He responded promptly, took care of issues immediately (they were small things because Smart really maintains the properties), and sweetly laughed at my odd American humor. So much better than a US rental agent.

Been living in private rented homes for 14 years and hands down smart property is the best. I’ve lived in this home for almost 7 years and could not have asked for a better letting agents to go with. Kat and the team have been so prompt dealing with any issues with the property or surrounding it - also helps that I’ve had a great landlord in all that time too. They are very communicative, give plenty of notice for inspections, they are respectful when carrying them out and overall they are just a team of very nice people. I’ve been in quite a few accommodations over the years and have went through periods of frustration when it takes so long to get things done or you can’t get a hold of someone etc. I don’t have these issues at all with smart. Highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent.

Definitely a 5 star for everything from dealing with repairs needed, checking up every so often to see how things were going if I was happy within my tenancy. Once my 12 months contract was up and I was onto monthly rolling they asked if I wanted the security of another 12 month with I happily agreed as I was very happy within the property. Only took 2 days for my full deposit being realised back to myself and again the whole communication was brilliant with email updates regularly on what was happening since the walk through to money being released. Kat who I've met and Lauren whom I've only ever emailed are ambassadors for Edinburgh & Leith, their business and their Landlords. Letting Agencies can sometimes get a bad name, so felt strongly enough to write this review. Kat and her team have managed rental property for me for years, I have used other agents in Edinburgh and Glasgow over the years and can honestly say that no other has come close to the service provided by Smart, repairs are dealt with quickly and cost effectively, I receive regular property inspection reports which is really helpful, I recently spoke to one of my tenants who was telling me that this was the best agency he had rented from which is good to hear.
