We put our property on sale with this company in August 2020, sold the property in February 2021 and finally moved into our new house in August 2021. This company was not at all to blame for the length of time between sale and moving. Much of the contact we had was through Charlotte Copeland whom we found friendly, professional and efficient and , if we were ever daft enough to move house again, would have no issues working with her. We did have a number of issues with the company, which led to the three stars. The first of these was having put the property on the market at the price recommended by the company, the first contact after a week was to recommend a price reduction despite our making it clear we were not after a quick sale. Secondly, whilst we are sympathetic to the problems of selling a house during the pandemic, we would contact the company and ask to talk to an individual who we had been told had a particular role only to discover that this person's role had changed or they had left the company. We do not have an issue with such changes, but it would have been helpful to have been informed of any such changes. Thirdly, if Charlotte was not available, her colleagues were usually unable to provide information regarding how the sale was progressing. This was not the case with the estate agents dealing with the house we were purchasing. We also preferred the weekly phone call from this estate agent keeping us up to date with progress at their end as well as asking us what was happening with our sale. We preferred the proactive attitude of this other estate agent rather than the seemingly reactive approach of Oliver Rayns. In fact, we had intended to take our business elsewhere the week following our first viewing which led to the sale.

The sale of my house had a litany of problems over which the staff at Oliver Rayns were extremely helpful and sympathetic. Before Oliver Rayns was recommended to me, I had already had two sales fall through with Belvoir Estate Agents. I was at my wit’s end to be honest, but as soon as I switched over everything changed. Not only is the team pleasant and professional to deal with ( Charlotte was in charge of our sale and she was lovely) they actually seem to care about selling your property. The guy who took the promotional pictures of the flat even came on his day off because it was sunnier! They also made sure we had a floor plan ( something Belvoir never bothered with!) and from then on we had plenty of viewings and were able to get a serious buyer within a few weeks. Another thing I liked about Oliver Rayns was being put on a WhatsApp group with them. This meant I never felt ignored if they were busy doing viewings etc, which I did with the other agent. In short, don’t go to Belvoir, go to Oliver Rayns!
