Our experience with Douglas & Gordon was amazing!! I arrange our viewing with James who was great - he managed to get us the day/time we wanted. We then dealt with Ella who was amazing to say the least. She showed us round the property & we felt no pressure from her at all which can sometimes be what you feel with estate agents. She was super nice and chatty, really taking an interest in us which made the experience feel very personal. When we went to the office and decided we wanted to make an offer she made us feel relaxed and gave the best advice. Everyone we have dealt with from Douglas and Gordon via email/text/in person has been amazing. They stay in constant contact, answering any questions you have and helping with anything you need. Shoutout to Gary who is amazing - answering me 100’s of questions a day. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a property!!

I was impressed by the way the viewings were organised and coordinated, the timely feedback provided to me and in particular, the way they liaised with and managed the relationship with my tenant. Selling a tenanted flat can be tricky, but they ensured it went smoothly and the tenant remained happy throughout. While the entire D&G team were great, the jewel in their crown has to be Nick Darragh. I first listed my flat for sale in 2016 and, after five abortive sales, I had all but given up hoping I’d ever exchange contracts. But I was delighted to find that Nick finally got a sale across the line and in the most trying of market conditions; the eve of what is likely a deep recession, Brexit and a pandemic to boot. Nick was absolutely incredible to deal with. His communication and negotiation skills meant I ended up accepting a higher offer than in previous ‘sales’. He is driven and engaging but most importantly, an overall nice guy. I could trust Nick to handle the negotiations and I have no doubt in my mind it was Nick’s ability to form rapport with buyers and sellers alike, that got this particular sale across the line. That, and his perseverance. When I was ready to throw in the towel and chalk it up as a sixth sale ‘not to be’ he persevered and worked with the buyers to overcome the barriers. As I am no longer based in the UK we had to work across time zones and Nick quickly learnt best time to contact me, even though it meant him working far outside typical business hours. I really appreciated that. I think it’s important to point out that my flat wasn’t worth much, probably of the lowest ‘potential commissions” of the agency’s portfolio at a guess. Yet I still felt my business was valued and was receiving Nick’s full focus. And I have to say that contrasts markedly to my experience with other agents. So, hat’s off to Nick and the entire D&G team, we are absolutely delighted.

We tried multiple agents before using D&G, and I’ll be honest we passed on D&G when listing first time around given the price is a little higher. This was a huge error on my part. You get what you pay for. Within 2 weeks of listing with them, they had two high quality offers for us, something other agents didn’t get close to. This wasn’t luck. They talked to us about the type of buyer they’d find us, and our buyer (and multiple other viewings) were introduced through their network, not through the search websites. During the listing period they kept us up to date with useful feedback on a daily basis from the agent who had actually done the viewing (not someone in the office with some poorly relayed notes), and second viewings were treated with immense care attended by senior staff. Between offer and exchange they were always available and supportive, Nick Darragh in particular - who was instrumental in getting our exchange over the line considering some challenging lawyers in the chain. This included multiple interventions on the day of exchange even though he was on annual leave returning to Ireland for the holidays. My wife and I have a young daughter and we’ve been trying to move her to a family home out of the city for months and months - after two collapsed chains and multiple agents we were close to giving up. D&G made this happen for us, and more than that they genuinely cared. Nick called me from Ireland just to say congratulations. I cannot recommend D&G highly enough. The terms include that Homeppl can view your balance and all transactions 'on an ongoing basis' - even in meeting anti-money laundering obligations this seems disproportionate, especially for short term lettings.

My gf and I were in a very urgent situation due to another flat not having worked out (thank you Fraser & co for that btw) and we absolutely needed a place. Oliver Wrigley at Douglas and Gordon helped us massively, first by finding a great flat and then by setting all the paperwork up (incl. references and so on) in record times. Long story short in less than 7 working days we were in the flat. It wasn't easy but we managed and a huge thanks goes to Oliver. What could have worked better (these are details though): - efficient responses not only via phone but also via email (though I understand that you are quite often on the move in this type of job) - more clarity on furniture aspects of the flat (first we were told it was furnished, then it wasn't, then it ended up being partially furnished) - replying to all emails with all parties in cc All in all, I had a really good experience with Douglas and Gordon and Oliver Wrigley and would highly recommend them.
