Since joining D&G back in July, I have been fully engrossed in everything D&G. Firstly, being welcomed by the whole company from the get go, that the transition as a new joiner to a fully integrated team member felt smooth and far from overwhelming.
The training is second to none. Everyone is extremely supportive and encouraging of your own personal success. The week of training really highlights how invested D&G are in your growth within the company and making sure you are fully equipped for your role.
Without sounding too biased, I couldn’t rave enough about D&G and their culture. They truly care about you and your welfare. And to top it all off, the social aspects of the company are truly what sell this this company. For anyone considering a career in property, look no further than D&G, you won’t regret it.

Having worked in some large corporate organisations, I have sometimes felt like a number during the training experience. There was none of this here, in fact the total opposite. Douglas & Gordon have a 3 day intense training schedule to help to transition into your role easier, not only do they have this but also constant weekly training for your first month and continued training for your first three months and so on as needed. My D&G journey began when I received a call from the internal recruitment team, my initial chat with Ellie didn’t feel like a screening process or an interrogation in the slightest. I’ve spoken with countless recruiters and even been one myself - Ellie was the best and D&G very quickly set the bar higher than any of the other businesses I was in the process for. It was clear from the get go D&G weren’t just another agency.
I was lucky enough to be invited to their recruitment evening where again, it felt very relaxed and everyone instantly made me feel welcome. Presentations from area directors and mingling with people from all departments really gave me an insight in to what it would be like to work with D&G - my game face was on at this point and I had to secure the position.
After an inspiring conversation with Matt Thompson, I left with one thing in mind - I need to work with these guys! Luckily for me, within 24 hours I had been offered the job 🥳.
Induction week was the best training I’ve ever had, despite it being designed to train from the ground up with no sales experience needed, I was amazed at how Ailsa ran the programme and how much I picked up in such a short amount of time. There’s too many names to mention and to thank but it genuinely was a great way to set yourself up for success, not to mention jolly good fun as well.
Now a couple of weeks in and with my branch, I feel like I’ve been here for years, it’s a real little family. Anyone who’s looking to enjoy their work and genuinely look forward to the week ahead whilst having the support and structure to be incredibly successful just give the head office a call. Whoever picks up is bound to be a delight and point you in the right direction.
My only regret is not making this move 5 years sooner. A massive thank you to everyone, I’m very excited as to where my career goes from here and I couldn’t be more pleased to fly the D&G flag.

Douglas and Gordon Clapham has provided me with exceptional service whilst looking to buy a property, and secondly in my capacity as a solicitor dealing with lease extension referrals and property transactions.
In particular in recent months the team at Clapham and primarily Leah Nesbitt have provided stellar advice, guidance and support, and execution and knowledge on transactions from the point of placing the property on the market all the way through to completion.
Some clients have already advised me their prices are extremely competitive and Leah is so responsive and understanding to her clients.
Throughout my process to buy they were always on hand to deal with my queries and they were quick to chase any party required to ensure my instructions on price went through. Unfortunately I did not get the purchase but I would not hesitate to use them for any future sale purchase or letting service. I will be recommending their services to all friends and family.
On transactions where I act for sellers and buyers they always ensure clients have realistic prices to turn and have opening information for searches with things like EPCs, plans and details where leasehold of managing agents.
I can also highly recommend their Professional Valuations service and the likes of Adrian Hau and his team.

I've been impressed with D&G and particularly Shamik has been a great help for us over the last 3 years. Any time we had any issues with the property they always responded quickly and professionally.
One thing I would say is that whenever we had contractors come round to fix anything, it was always a pretty shoddy job with the place not being tidied up afterwards or rubble being left in the toilet, etc. But I'm not sure if these contractors were on the landlords instruction or not.

Our property is managed by senior property manager Emily who is always easy to contact and quick to solve any issues. I’ve rented several properties, and landlords often try to shirk responsibility with bigger issues - but whenever anything has gone wrong (new boiler, new carpets), Emily and the D&G team have always been understanding and quick to help. Our washing machine broke and we had a new one before I’d even got home from work! They make renting easy and care free.
