We chose JDW from other local agents as they had a good reputation for customer service and i had successfully previously used them for the sale of my mother's house a few streets away, albeit a long time ago. From the very start to team reacted very quickly and also understood that the sale may be protracted due to Probate issues and delays at the probate office because of staff problems. I met Shae Preece at the house by appointment and he was fully clued as to the target sale price and the target potential purchasers. Within a few days the details were agreed and printed and viewings commenced. I was most impressed at the daily summaries of viewings and the tactics suggested. Offers came in quickly and we went to best offer and found a family that we were pleased to sell to and who offered the highest sale price. Probate remained an issue so we rented the house by special agreement to the prospective purchasers as they needed somewhere to live and we needed a secured house. JDW continued in regular updates and relayed my updates on the probate issue to the buyers. All through the sale JDW demonstrated a professional, empathetic and personal approach and we finally exchanged contracts before Christmas with exchange due 6th January 2022 ,for a very satisfactory sale price. I would have no hesitation in recommending JDW and in particular, Shae Preece, for their excellent service and personal attention to our probate sale. It has been a pleasure dealing with them. James Setright recently helped us purchase our property. He was very helpful all the way through the process. we encountered lots of problems with our solicitors and James kindly guided us in regards to what to do with these obstacles. He is very professional, kind and certainly patient because our purchase did take much longer time than expected. He responds promptly with our emails and was a good link between us and our seller. Without him it would have been difficult to have purchased the house before the stamp duty kicked in, which saved us a lot of money.

It started on a viewing with James who was different from other agents – he wasn’t pushy and didn’t try and sell me the property we viewed, even though it was clear I liked it and subsequently made an offer - James was disarmingly honest and knowledgeable and booked me in with Jake for an appraisal on my own house. Jake, the Wandsworth branch’s manager, was very impressive. Unlike the other big agents who also appraised my house, Jake was more interested in my situation and helping me achieve what I needed, than just getting me to sign his sales terms and sell as quick as possible! This I found refreshing and I chose to instruct Jake based on this and his obvious ability. Once I had instructed John D Wood to sell my house, the service I got was second to none! Whenever I called there was always someone charming on hand to speak to and although my situation was not at all straight-forward and I am sure I was quite a difficult client for them – I was always made to feel like the centre of the property universe. When it came to results John D Wood were very driven and did not let a tough market stop them from sourcing me a great buyer. Shae, another member of their sales team, was a complete star in sourcing my buyer who, to put it simply set a price per square foot record on my road! More importantly than this, Shae's buyer was perfect for my house and I know they will have many years of happiness there. Overall, if you are selling or buying in Wandsworth, Jake, Shae and James should be your first point of call.

I would highly recommend John D Wood in Trinity Road Wandsworth. They are exceptionally professional and this was evident from first meeting them and compared to other large and active estate agents in the area. I had confidence in their valuation, it was well explained. I felt that they knew the market. The whole process of selling was made straight forward. Every arrangement was kept to e.g. photographs, sign and sign repair (when high winds disturbed it) and most importantly viewings. There were some difficulties along the way with the buyer's mortgage and our agents really seemed to go beyond what I would have expected to help resolve this. The sale went through quickly and most of this was because of the efforts put in by the agent. Any contact was friendly and courteous. I think they worked exceedingly hard to earn the fee we agreed. The price we accepted was above the guide price.

Originally put an offer in on a flat through an agent who works out of another office and found him to be extremely pushy - calling me while I was at work and telling me the offer we put in on his client's flat was a slap in the face and that because of my job title, I could afford to pay more.
