Old Compton House is the only place I will ever stay when I am in London it's my home away from home! LDG is amazing to deal with and the flat is gorgeous, I've been there 3 times alone in the last year and planning my next trip for the spring. Cant wait to get back and to Flat 1! LDG REALLY DO CARE!!! You can read my original 1 Star review below which paints a dire picture of our initial experience as Tenants. However, after we complained, the Management Team came out to see us in the apartment to witness things for themselves and also listen to our story. They were very understanding and pledged to try and rectify our list of things that were unsatisfactory. We then received a phone call from one of the Partners who personally looked into our case and is overseeing things to ensure they run smoothly going forward. He also spoke passionately about his business and how LDG have been operating since 1987 and he spoke highly of their Landlords, who they act for... and this was also comforting to hear. In general, we had an initial poor experience, the Team reacted efficiently and positively and one of the Owners also gave his support. Our experience is now a very good one and we are looking forward to enjoying the apartment. "Well Done LDG and Thank You!!" Beware - LDG Letting Agents in Foley St I would like to share our experience so far with any would-be tenants looking to rent a property through LDG. We agreed a let of a 3Bed Marylebone Apartment - the outgoing tenants left the place needing many repairs including broken furniture, badly stained carpet, marked walls and windows, there’s quite a list. Of course the Letting Agent’s responsibility is to make good all the damage in preparation for the new tenant (that’s us!) and charge the outgoing tenant for the work from his deposit. Standard practice. You’d think that would be straight forward and standards would be upheld - you’d think as a leading London Letting Agent, LDG would ensure the apartment was in a fit and proper state for the new tenant. They have failed spectacularly at this basic responsibility, sending this response to our complaint “ the carpets were shampoo cleaned, however, the stains are irremovable. The scuff marks on the walls and the furniture were present during your viewing. As this was not part of your offer requirement we are unable to carry any work out without the landlord’s authorisation. As per the inventory report, the clerk has deemed the property has been cleaned to a professional standard.” Well if you could see the state of the apartment they expect us to move in to - you would never choose to let from this Agent. Surely they must have deducted the cost of repairs from the outgoing tenant? We can only assume they or the Landlord are either trying to profiteer by not spending these funds to make good - or they are just incompetent. You can imagine the cost of renting a 3Bed in Marylebone so you wouldn’t expect to receive this treatment or service. They are saying they are looking into this issue and will come back to us today so let’s see what happens - you would not accept the carpet in its current state or any of the dangerous, broken furniture - you would have to paint the whole apartment and clean properly all the windows to remove al the marks. Keep you posted - at this point, the jury are out. BETTER NEWS! The COO of LDG called me in the afternoon following our complaint and negative review and we discussed our situation. She seemed naturally surprised that this type of thing could happen as there are many positive reviews on Google about LDG. The COO is looking into matters for us and has promised to come back to me - she’s not sure when but at some point. The main issue here is how could the catalogue of events have occurred where LDG staff or paid external bodies think it’s acceptable handing over an apartment in this condition? Meanwhile we’ve had the keys for 5 days now and we still can’t move in because most of the furniture is broken and dangerous, and of course the carpet damaged. We’ve spent 4 days painting & cleaning, having taps, locks and leaks fixed. Can’t work oven because control knob missing. All broken for us to move in!! Awaiting the response from the LDG COO

He listened to all of my requirements and got a sense for the type of property I wanted, which allowed him to send me listings that I was actually interested in seeing. My experience with LDG in fitzrovia was by far the most smooth and friendly one. I am new to London as an international student and they really helped me settling down. Emlyn from LDG very kindly showed me around the area. We went to see 3-5 properties that afternoon and it was not rushed at all. Sometimes just by looking at website it is difficult to properly see the condition of the flat. After answering few questions from Emlyn, he knew what I was looking for. He was patient and calm, but most importantly very honest when introducing each properties and explaining letting process. I always want to live in an English style flat and I am happy that I found one through LDG & Emlyn's recommendation.

We just had a great stay in a 2 bedroom flat in Goodge Place. Really well located and appointed with photos from the agent that completely match the apartment and our expectations (not always the case these days). Julia and Alberto from LDG were very helpful. A small problem with an alarm being set off was resolved within the hour. They agreed to give me an early check in and late check out, both without fees. Really really nice. I will be back in April and will definitely use the services of LDG again.

Harrison and Daniel from the LDG team have been working with us since beginning of 2015 when my studio gave them the impossible task of finding us a small space in central London for good value rent. They found us a great airy space on Great Portland Street which served as the base for our growing business in the last 2.5 years. We stayed at 59 Great titchfield road apartment. The apartment was great! Amazing location just minutes away from everything but also in a quiet location. Bed was comfortable. The sofa bed was small so probably sleeps more 2-3 people comfortably but no more. Had a problem with the washing machine as had to do a wash but Andrey came round promptly on the Sunday night straight away to fix it as I had a flight early Monday morning. Nice bars and restaurants literally right next door. Would highly recommend it

LDG recently sold my flat at the Fitzroy Square end of Charlotte Street. They found me a cash buyer within a matter of weeks at a fantastic price despite my worries that I needed a quick sale and the price was possibly a little ambitious. The buyers were delighted too and pressed to complete asap. Ben was our first contact at LDG. He was extremely clear and made it very easy to discuss the general details including sale price and marketing plans. Once a buyer was secured Jamie took over. He was amazingly efficient and kept me updated with a blow by blow account of events. He was able to dramatically speed up the completion of the sale by notifying me of outstanding information requested by the buyer's solicitor which I then extracted from my files, my legal team or the flat's managing agents. Jamie cut the exchange/completion time in half - saving me a large amount money for which I'm hugely grateful. He did all that whilst remaining cheerful, humorous and charming. This is an 'old school' small and friendly firm with a great work ethic and tremendous customer service. I'm really sorry to say goodbye to my beautiful flat but I've got very happy memories and an extremely healthy bank balance - certainly no regrets. LDG has been our go-to estate agent for more than seven years. First Clare Moll found us a great flat to buy after only a few months. Before that we had been looking unsuccessfully for some years. Since then they have managed another flat we own and have been excellent on all fronts, especially since we are away for many months at a time. Nothing is too much trouble for their staff - from their founder, Laurence Glynne, to every other person we have had contact with. And most recently Minette Ribeiro, our property manager, has done a superb job of appliance replacements, fault repairs, managing technical matters and generally keeping our tenants happy. LDG are responsible for renting and managing our apartment near Trafalgar Square and have done so for 4 years. This last year we had the unfortunate scenario of getting bad tenants (apparently the worst that LDG have ever come across) so you could say we had a few issues. Gaby at LDG helped us through the process to arrange for repair works and reclaim the money from the tenants guarantor. Thankfully, we've now received the money to rectify the damage in the flat and only gained a few grey hairs. Gaby also worked a few late nights to make sure that everything was covered for us which was greatly appreciated. So a big thank you for Gaby for her endeavours in helping us through this nightmare and her very good work throughout the year when we needed tradesmen to rectify the usual normal issues that arose.

LDG is concerned with both the location, and the history behind its properties. This is what makes LDG unique. The agency looks out for the lifestyle of its prospective clients as well. This is particularly important in a capital city like London. For example a house might be modern and hitech. However if it is poorly situated, then ultimately that will affect the general living experience. I got the impression that LDG took this seriously when my housemate and I were viewing properties in Fitzrovia. Additionally LDG boasts an international, multi-lingual staff base. In other words it is an upmarket estate agency, with a friendly community culture. This made moving to central London really easy in my final year at UCL. My housemate and I were literally a five-minute walk away from Oxford Street, and Regent’s Park. What’s more the fact that our property was so well situated lead to great networking opportunities. I would add that initially my housemate recommended LDG. It was her fourth time renting with them. Whereas it was my first time. Our agent processed our paperwork quickly. In fact we were able to move in two weeks after the initial viewing. This meant that we could focus on our studies straight away. Also LDG is distinctive in the sense that the staff have great follow-up etiquette. For instance weeks after we moved in, our estate agent was happy to offer advice regarding bills, and living costs. This is especially useful for international people traveling to London for the first time. Our agent's role stemmed beyond filing our paperwork, and handing us the keys. By contrast he offered us friendly, personalised service. In a big city like London this was great! I would definitely recommend LDG as a prime, West End estate agency. I would consult them again!

Review is solely for short-lets department: I went through to LDG direct regarding short-term lets. Rupal Patel was extremely helpful in guiding me through the options they had available, working hard to provide options and try and secure something within my budget. Given most estate agents dealing with short-lets are mostly interested in the corporate clientele and pay less attention to the retail customer, I was pleasantly surprised. Service was quick, friendly and most importantly honest - I would highly recommend the short-lets department.

Actually, 1000 stars would be more appropriate! I'm forced into moving for medical reasons, and needed a sale and purchase timed appropriately. Laurence, especially, was totally focused on my interests. The place in Fitzrovia we had 6-9 August.2015 was very nice-modern, well ,located and spacious and clean but what made it TERRIFIC was the support from LDG.Any rental can have problems that the agent does not know about and there can be no blame but the ability of the agent to handle the problem is key.EVERY time something came up,all we had to do was call or test or e-mail and within a few hours, the non draining shower or loose toilet handle or what ever was promptly repaired. The week before we rented in Paris from another company and I am still waiting for them to get back to me!
