I used Anthony Pepe to buy a small studio in London and the estate agent was Maria Zorlakkis. As is usual in every conveyance, there were a number of unforeseen glitches and problems with the solicitors involved. Originally intended to go through within a few weeks maximum, it stretched out to over six months. There were numerous occasions when Maria was able to get aspects of the conveyance moving more quickly than they were. She also realised that the problems we were having with my lawyer needed to be escalated to his management before I did. Her e-mails meant that he was changed. I suspect that, without her involvement, the sale may well have fallen through. She was very good at following up on whether the parties had actually done what they said they were going to do. Again, this probably saved countless days off the conveyance. I found her very calm and professional with me, courteous and knowledgeable. That said, she doesn't shy away from being very direct when need be. As I noted earlier, we had significant problems with my lawyer, and when things really came to a head she sent an e-mail stating "This is the most shocking experience I have had with a conveyancer ever." And, to be fair, this did need to be said. And she was right, when management reviewed the file, he was immediately removed. I was very happy with the service and think you'll be in safe hands.
