L. *.I used Barton Kendal to sell my property after a LOT of quizzing / interrogation of all the local estate agents. I was able to have a sensible conversation without being dictated to and the valuer (Sam) wasn't defensive and answered all of my queries easily, whilst seeming professional and offering solid advice, without any gimmicks. The property photographs were fantastic, the sale board and Rightmove listing went up at lightening speed and they've always answered any queries super efficiently. They've relayed any enquiries my buyers / potential buyers have had to me to progress sales and I initially sold my property in two weeks of it being listed. The text service they offer, so that you are aware of any viewings is also extremely helpful. Sam generally dealt with my sale, although Jade has always been massively helpful and personable.
Ryder & Dutton hold the local market share in the area, but wanted to list my property at over £15,000 under the valuation price of all the other agents, with a view to sell it during an open day, at twice the fee of other estate agents.
Ryder & Dutton = can't be bothered.
Definitely consider Barton Kendal or Henstock Hopkins (I liked Phil, especially for lettings - he's proactive and upfront) and avoid Ryder & Dutton (who are also dead set on selling you their other services) at all costs.
Barton Kendal have done everything they said they would and are one of the most competitively priced in the area, with high quality branding, whilst demonstrating a high degree of responsiveness and genuine salesmanship / ability to listen. You won't be hounded to buy other services and they will be proactive in managing and progressing your sale.
Please note (Evie) – the rather angry response below regarding exchange deadlines. No idea what that is all about. Solicitors generally cause deadlines / estimated completion dates to be missed (this happened to me, as my buyer instructed an ignorant imbecile, against all advice) and solicitors are under no obligation to consult or engage with estate agents. The estate agent can't do anything about solicitors, the only thing you can do is pull the sale or purchase / tell the estate agent to tell the other side to sort their solicitor out (which may or may not have any effect). Get a decent local solicitor and if the other side can't be bothered doing the same, consider moving on imminently – this has nothing to do with the estate agent.
Anyway, Barton Kendal ... You obviously have to deal with some highly educated characters, I don't envy you!
G. W.Well what can I say about this estate agent they help me out from the start when my previous letting agent give me a notice to leave as the landlord wanted to sell the house I lived in.
I didn't no which way to turn as they didn't give me any help to find a new home
I contacted Barton & kendal Middleton I they could not do enough for me and family in finding us a new home
Without the help from Jade and Harriet I don't no where I I would of been fantastic estate agent will always be thankful for what you did for me and my young family will always recommend you
