As a former Estate Agent myself I am fully aware of the negative attitude towards Estate Agents generally and how it is thought that they do not offer value for money. However, I would not hesitate to recommend West. This small company offers high levels of service and extremely knowledgeable staff. We had used Gavin to sell our previous home so had no hesitation in going back to him when we came to move again. Most of our dealings this time we’re with Nikki who we found to be extremely professional. She worked tirelessly to find us a buyer and to manage the sale to completion in what are very difficult times. We could not be more delighted and cannot praise them highly enough.

Our sellers engaged the West Property Consultancy to sell the house we bought. We are delighted that they did. The sale of our house was difficult as the solicitors our buyers engaged were awkward and unwilling to cooperate to get the deal though. They were significantly behind everyone else in the transaction and didn’t seem to want to catch up. The West Property Consultancy (in particular Nikki) was instrumental in getting the deal through. Were it not for a team effort between them and us, the whole chain would have fallen through. I think it’s commendable to have done this in normal circumstances, but during a global pandemic is brilliant. Nikki was extremely knowledgable and worked very hard throughout. Thank god for a common sense approach and an estate agent who understands the legal process rather than just simple act of putting in an offer on a house. Nikki Hemsley throughout our entire selling process was fantastic and a breath of fresh air. We had previously attempted to sell our house for 9 months pre lock down with another estate agent to no avail. Nikki was highly professional with a high level of attention to detail. The difference between the high service she offered and that of other estate agents was clear. She had a number of proceedable buyers through our door within a week and we managed to sell after 7 days! The process to exchange and completion was slightly convoluted. Nikki Helmsley runs the section of West that covers our village. Although she was already very knowledgeable about our village having spent her formative years growing up there, she stayed on top of all that is going in there and in the environs. Nikki is extremely thorough and detail-oriented in all she does. She is very committed to showing how professional an estate agent can be and it is clear that not only has she succeeded in that endeavor, her professionalism would lead you to believe she would be successful in whatever profession she chose. Nikki worked extremely hard and efficiently and had many good ideas for how to market our property successfully. The Brexit referendum has truly stalled the market for us and the other agents we had previously used over the years were not nearly so clever or energetic as she is. We accepted a good offer within a very short time of her listing and yet she never stopped working--keeping all going forward well and executing chores that we could not as we now live abroad. She is dedicated, committed, honest and very hardworking. I recommend her highly. As an addendum, I would like to also commend Gavin West as well. When Nikki was on holiday early on the process, he not only stepped in to cover for her but was in constant communication with us at hours that would not have been so convenient for him. This is a great firm that has overcome the challenges posed by Covid-19 and dealt with the crisis with terrific energy and imagination. A terrific firm to deal with!

On our first meeting, Nikki Hemsley of West-PC stood out in glorious technicolour from her dull grey competitors. She immediately saw the selling points of the property and had a very clear view of who would be interested and why. Her competitors had no such insights. She said she already knew people who would be interested and she would supplement that with a targeted marketing campaign – she did. Her competitors said they didn’t know of anyone and we would have to generate interest with a general marketing campaign. She said she could get more for the property than our target price (she did); her competitors thought we may have to drop the price a little. She said she would get us more than one offer (she did) ; her competitors said in today’s market finding one buyer was tough enough. She said she thought it was possible we would get a proceedable, acceptable offer within weeks (we did); they said plan on months in today’s market. She said she developed strong and trusted relationships with the buyer and seller and that was key to helping manage a transaction to completion (she did); her competitors made no such claim and I wouldn’t have believed them if they had. Overall she was a delight to deal with, tireless in showing people around and dealing with queries and incredibly responsive and efficient in supporting us. Outstanding and thoroughly recommended.
