We recently returned from a stay in 28 St John's Mews and were very impressed with the property. It is a spacious, rather luxurious apartment which we thought was well furnished and well equipped. The property was spotlessly clean and tidy upon arrival.
The property features a spacious kitchen/diner/lounge area with a balcony just off the lounge. There are two large bedrooms and two large internal shower rooms (one en-suite). As a rule I do not like internal bathrooms because of the constant noise of the extractor fans that generally do nothing and the rooms steam up anyway. However, there were no such issues here. No noisy extractor and yet the shower rooms remained remarkably steam free!!
Previous reviewers mentioned things like no full length mirrors in the bedrooms but both bedrooms had fixed full length mirrors when we went. It had also been mentioned that there was a lack of kitchen utensils for self-catering needs (things like chopping boards etc). But this was not our experience, there certainly were chopping boards, adequate pots, pans, oven trays, cutlery and crockery. We had none of these issues.
The only (minor) issue we had was with the TV. There were no terrestrial channels for catching up with news and weather. The only viewing was via Netflix etc.
The property is in a quiet location about a 10 minute walk into the centre of town, this suited us but might be a problem for the not very mobile. It's also worth noting that the property is on the second floor, up two flights of stairs with no lift, so whilst we didn't have a problem, this might be a consideration for some.
A nice touch was the welcome hamper, which contained some locally sourced shortbread, crisps, tea and coffee etc. Perfect if you need something to nibble after a long journey.
We are fairly frequent visitors to York and have stayed in some lovely apartments over the years. We would have no hesitation in returning to 28 St John's Mews.

We stayed at the Residence at Ryedale House and it was superb. Secure entry, private parking, within a short walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit during our stay in York - car didn’t get used once during our 4 day stay.
The apartment itself is luxurious and stylish. A balcony with views of the Minster where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, high spec interior, kitchen and bathrooms as well as three comfortable bedrooms. Great for a bit of luxury away from home and with easy access to everything York has to offer. Can’t recommend highly enough. Will definitely be back!

We stayed at 12 St Johns Mews in York. The apartment was very well appointed throughout and in an immaculate condition. Staff had left us a welcome gift showcasing local products which was a delightful touch. The accommodation is just outside the city wall and a short (5 - 9 minutes depending on how fast you go) walk takes you through the Monk Gate entrance to the city.
Our accommodation had designated private parking for one car, and there is an an electric vehicle charging point inside the private parking area. Entrance to the property is through a secure entry door. There is a video camera call system to answer any callers to the property.

This is a lovely modern apartment renovated to a high standard. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything you need. Loved the Skylights bringing in natural light, the one in the bedroom has a remote control blind. Love the dressing area so handy just unpack and close the door on it. Location is perfect by the city centre with tourist attractions within minutes walking distance. It was lovely and quiet we couldn’t hear any of the neighbours. The free onsite gated secure car park is a bonus. The welcome hamper with treats were thoroughly enjoyed a special touch from the owners that was appreciated. Fantastic place and great service with good communication throughout the booking and answering any queries we had. We had a comfortable and cosy stay felt so relaxed and at home that we would return. Highly recommended.

We are just back from a 4 night break at the tractor shed, it was a faultless , relaxing stay. All the amenities you could require ,and added bonus of a welcome box of goodies. Around £10 in a taxi into York so very handy for all the usual sights.
We used the outdoor space and bbq loads.
We hope to visit again soon and would definitely recommend to others.

Excellent holiday let service with 1st class communication & professionalism. In 3+ years we’ve never had a problem. Chris & his amazing team do a wonderful job managing our properties and keeping them fully booked. We stayed at the Nunnery Lane property for 3.5 weeks. We were extremely happy with it. Very comfortable and tastefully furnished. Excellent spot for shops, cafes etc. 10 minute walk into town. Kitchen well set up with cooking facilities etc. Early in our stay we had a plumbing issue which was rectified quickly. The office staff are extremely helpful. Would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at 3 Darnborough St - A lovely and well decorated property. The owners have clearly given enormous energy to providing everything you could possibly need for a stay in York, fantastic kitchen (complete with Espresso machine!), two comfortable bedrooms and a gorgeous walk-in shower. No mod con has been overlooked. The kitchen is well stocked, albeit there is a risk that you might not get much of a chance to use it for cooking as Bishopthorpe Road is excellently served by takeaways and cafes. The courtyard at the back is a suntrap - the owners have taken trouble to plant it and there's a barbecue and outdoor table and chairs. On-street parking isn't a problem as the owners have a parking permit and even if you can't get parked directly outside the property you'll find a space easily enough. As well as being a gorgeous property, it's superbly located close to the City Walls, or the Barbican and Castle and is no more than 15 minutes from the City Centre or the Railway Station. Would certainly stay here again.

One call to stays York and we had 3 suggestions where to stay with offers.
We chose Cook Cottage because of its location.
Great location in Cawood, 10 minutes to Selby or 25 minutes to York. Off road parking. Top quality furnishings and fittings made it a home from home experience.
Booking and confirmation went through without any problems and return of deposit was done promptly.

Found this little gem of a place on the internet and wow it exceeded expectations. Lovely comfortable place to stay for a week just like a home from home. Well thought out and nicely decorated. It has plenty of natural light and is tucked away just of the main road. Easy walking distance into York and plenty of lovely eating places around if you do not want to cook. Will definitely return.
