G. H.Wow. A really incredible local establishment. We went for the tapas and have only good things to say about them. Not only were they absolutely delicious, and showed this place was worthy of its Michelin star, but the local ingredients and fresh cooking made each plate uniquely lovely. Furthermore, they were well priced, with high quality beef or sea bass at £10.50 a plate!, which is far better than you would find in many cities. The drinks were also delicious and reasonably priced. In fact, we were so satisfied with our meals that we decided to come back in the evening and bring the Thursday special fish and chips to our family for dinner, which were delicious, crisp and fresh, as well as being genuinely cheap at £10 a box. On top of all of this the waiting staff were kind and friendly.
A definite must try for dining in the area.

We are fussy eaters and nearly everything was a brand new experience and honestly...the best food we have ever had! Genuinely inspiring and we are converts!
The atmosphere, vibe and all the staff helped to make it such a cool place to eat and we can't wait to come back.
They have a great approach with fresh local ingredients, catch of the day and foraged items.
Worth every penny.
D.A brilliant experience, with a well thought out and balanced menu. The food was outstanding with the dishes explained professionally by very attentive staff. I've read that the music has been a problem to some people but I felt it added to the atmosphere and Nathan's style of food.

It lived up to and exceeded all of our expectations - definitely worth the 4 hour drive. The taster menu was exquisite and all the staff were extremely knowledgable and friendly. The food was beautifully presented delivering on flavour every time.

L. G.What an experience - we booked the taster menu at SY23 after seeing Nathan’s food on GBM and thinking ‘I have to try that’. It absolutely did not disappoint and was well worth the wait. The service is excellent and unpretentious, the staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines they serve. The restaurant setting is intimate and the atmosphere is lovely due to the décor and the open kitchen. Couldn’t pick a favourite dish this time round so will definitely be going back to try again!

I want to start by thanking everyone involved in making my evening the best experience I've had in the hospitality business so far.
Everything was amazing...from start to finish was perfect in everyway, from sitting down stairs in the bar, having a drink, every member of staff were very professional, extremely friendly and welcoming, I loved the intimate atmosphere of the whole evening, you have something very special. Then being taken upstairs and sat facing the chefs, watching them at work was something mesmerising and I loved ever minute, the food served was extremely well balanced and very delicious as well as been very attractive to look at. The drinks all went extremely well with the food, I loved the theatre of the evening, being told so passionately about the sourcing and cooking procedures of the food.
Thank you to everyone for your hard work, especially Nathan's wife who was the main person who looked after me, everyone else who served me including the chef's and the young lady sorting the drinks were all amazingly talented and engaging with me. Thank you also to Nathan for spending a few minutes talking to me at the end of the evening.

B.Booked the taster menu for our wedding anniversary and what a treat it was 😁 we had 11 courses of amazingly cooked local food, never rushed, each course served and introduced by the delightfully attentive staff each and everyone one of them were amazing. Chef Nathan and his two chefs were wonderful, happy to talk despite being extremely busy. A true joy of a meal, no a dining experience as it goes beyond just food and the chocolate ganache with burnt butter fudge was heavenly.

R. S.We did the 10 course taster on 22nd June 22. It was an evening of theatre & gastronomic delight. It's a small restaurant but the crew/brigade have made it a real performance experience over 3+ hours. The food was excuisite, the tastes sublime. Every course & it's ingredients explained by the friendly attentive staff. Cannot fault anything. It's a delight to find such a restaurant. Nathan himself was very approachable after service was finished. The presence of your own freshly baked special loaf, with the recommendation to taste every bit of sauce was genius. You certainly don't go home hungry. Just satisfied with a beaming smile!

g. m.Very friendly staff, set on 2 levels with a 1st floor restaurant, a ground floor bar area and dining featuring tables with built in fire pits. Michelin starred dining experience which is delicious. Good selection of wines and other drinks available. Well worth a visit for a romantic meal. Children under 8 not catered for at present.
A separate wine bar is open over the weekends too. There are no parking spaces other than street parking, which is restricted locally.

B. M.Great location, great food and drink, great decor, but abysmal service. Had to ask multiple times for menus, to have them turn on the heat lamp, and everything we ordered came out slowly and at totally different times. Probably wouldn't go again but wouldn't rule it out.
M. S.It had some of the best food. The vibe of the outside seating is just incredible. The miso butter they have is to die for. We ordered it again with the sourdough bread. The main dishes were also great. I had the lamb. The dishes are small making them perfect for not overeating and getting a chance to have a bit of everything. Drinks here are also great. If you want fancy food in town, this is the place to be.

I'd read a few reviews moaning about the music being too loud, it didn't put me off booking and having been, it felt like a curated atmosphere for the experience with all songs having limited lyrics and a similar BPM which was actually really relaxing. For anyone reading this who is still concerned, it was loud enough that we couldn't hear the conversation taking place on tables next to us but we could still hear eachother.

- Nowhere in the website or booking did they mention that it wasn't going to be the proper menu (the only thing advertised on the SY23 website), but instead a sort of tapas arrangement. All well and good, but not what we'd all been anticipating. It needs to be much clearer.
- Small Plates/Tapas that we ended up having - Some of it was exceptional, some of it was pretty average, and most of it felt pretty pricey all things considered.
- Waiting staff/Environment was what really let it down. The tables are way to small to have multiple plates all over it. It becomes a massive cluttered mess. The waiting staff showed very little enthusiasm or passion about the food. They literally just delivered it, and that was that. No excitement, no excitedly describing the dish. Just delivery. When we wanted to order more food and wine, they told us we now had to leave as they had more bookings. If it's a tapas affair, it needs the time to be that, not a quick feed them and move them on sort of thing.
Overall, worked out as £60/head. Tasting menu would have been much better, and I'd happily have paid a lot more for that, but we left feeling a bit short changed, and frustrated. We'd all driven a long way specifically to visit this place, and it wasn't really worth the hours in the car.
