Reviews of Maypole Farm - Dining & Carvery
M. G.
Went with a large group from work for breakfast at 9am on a Saturday. Plenty of food, nice variety. Only thing that wasn't up to scratch Was the black pudding which was slightly hard.
Being a large group we booked the raised area which was plenty.
J. B.
We went for a meal with friends (4 people in total). We booked for Sunday lunchtime. The staff were friendly and accommodating as 2 of our party were disabled they answered our query quickly and efficiently. Our friends had the carvery and we ordered from the main menue. The portions were a good size and the food was lovely. I will definitely be back and would happily recommend this venue to friends and family.

Love the food in this place! Good selection of beers too. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the carvery chef Ryan was amazing and the bar staff wish I’d catch there names was great! Bare in mind we arrived during a very busy period for lunch! Take a bow Maypole staff!

First visit here. We were surprised by the portion sizes and value for money, especially the puddings. The food was good. The menus were quite grubby, needed a wipe off. The under 5 play area was ok, could perhaps do with a clean too and check older children playing in there roughly around the younger children! Chris was very friendly and helpful.
E. C.
Went for a Sunday roast. Staff were friendly and the food came really quickly. The meat was delicious and the potatoes, Yorkshire's and veg was yummy. Very reasonably priced and large portions.
A. S.
Carvery was lovely, pity about the service. Ordered by the app. Kids meals came before the drinks. Kids had eaten their meals and the 3 adults had eaten their carveries, no one had come over to ask if everything was OK and if the kids were ready for their ice cream, so we had to ask for it. The server took the plates and we were told she would bring the ice cream but we waited for about 15 minutes for the ice cream which never arrived, so we left.
E. D.
The carvery meat was a little dry and some of the vegetables over cooked, but honestly for under £9.00 it was very good value. The wide variety of vegetables was a definite plus. If you are not a fussy (got to have everything just so) eater then give it a go.
A. B.
Visited today for Carvery. Excellent service, huge portions and fantastic value for money. Ordered via the app, staff very attentive. Drinks arrived quickly and the queue for the Carvery was well organised. We were absolutely stuffed but still couldn’t resist the “cakeaway”. Wow! Enormous cakes and desserts, absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.
K. L.
After having a disappointing meal recently, we were invited to give the Maypole a second chance and what a total difference it was. From the food all the way to the service provided by Ryan and a lovely waitress that we unfortunately forgot to get her name. We definitely will be back.
S. R.
We often pop in for a meal here . Spacious tidy and lots of vege choices. Great staff too. Always helpful smiling and happy among themselves too which is really nice to see.
j. k.
We are not food critics but we know what we like, not enough lamb in the rogan josh, mostly sauce, my wife felt that the salmon was over cooked and too many potatoes on her plate. Other than that the food was delicious
D. W.
After taking a 12month break from the restaurant we thought we would give it another try. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off at 7.50 just before our food was due. A lot of people left without finishing thier food not wanting to wait. When we returned to our table our food was served but again unfortunately not warm enough and not complete items missing from my order and my sons menu. The staff try hard but it is not working. Total overhaul needed it all went wrong when they changed food suppliers.
J. H.
First time coming here, food was lovely (especially the hallumi fries). want to thank a young girl called Caitlin for the amazing customer service and making everyone’s day better. Will definitely be coming back soon
Y. C.
Carvery fab and very filling also not forgetting the fabulous breakfast menu and brunch. Desserts and cakes not to be missed. Be warned 1 cake is enough for 3 people!
K. G.
Very good food and good portions. Friendly service a clean place seating looking a bit worn but it's obviously very popular for a good cheap feed
A. M.
Nice place for an early evening reasonably priced carvery.
Plenty of parking. Spacious venue. Good food. Pleasant staff
M. H.
Very good food and service. Will have to come back another day for a dessert as they look like a meal on their own😊
M. W.
Really nice staff, the carvery was really nice. When we went out was really hot and pat off the kitchen was closed as the fuse kept tripping, so we could only have the carvery!
K. K.
Was working in the local area and saw they do a carvery.
The food was so good and the staff all very nice. 10/10 keep up the good work
A. R. C.
Best carvery in bedford! The veggie carvery is lovely with the cheese pie 🤩🤩🤩 but you git to hope that all the timings are hot! And the roasties and cauliflower chewse are very hit and miss, must be dependent on what chef's in the kitchen!
G. M.
Came for evening meal I decided to have a carvery my partner chose from menu, and I have to say we was not disappointed food was hot and tasty also excellent service, from everybody.
J. S.
Looked after by the lovely Skye who made us 🐶 feel very welcome. Brought out some fresh water for the pup and made sure we had everything we needed.
C. B.
4 adults had a meal one was awful assistant manger wasnt that interested but Adliyah our server was brilliant and sorted out a refund and free desert and sorted out a deplacement meal she was fantastic never spoilt our meal and we will defo be back
P. B.
Meal was ok. Service could have been quicker post ordering. Steak could have been better. Would have preferred mixed grill!!!
J. S.
Fantastic lunch time carvery, lovely roast potatoes, great service from Heather and the young carvery chef was very polite also!
V. B.
Friendly staff & great atmosphere. Carvery is really nice (would love to recommend serving peas on there as that is the only veg I eat! But that's my only negative point here) The cakes are absolutely delicious, huge slices too - must try! Me & my friends all really enjoy going here for food & a catch up :)
V. B.
Came here for boxing day dinner. The food was amazing. I've been to another restaurant in this chain too and that was great as well. It's forte is definitely the carvery and the cake. The cake is unbelievably big! Even better they let you take it away.
C. H.
Food was okay, some of the seats were dirty as was some of the cutlery 🤮. But, 90 percent of the staff were friendly and helpful. One was obviously very busy and feeling the pressure. The prices were competitive and I was tempted by the app for ordering but decided against it as it is not a chain I will be frequenting much.
Additional: I feel that I should point out that the problems raised above were dealt with quickly and promptly and that the area for small children is great. Sorry that I did not put this in my original review. I only put that I will not be frequenting because I rarely travel out of my home area and I am not a fan of 'pub grub'
J. D.
Better than Toby but the beef always looks so dry that it may be absorbent! That, and the potatoes not being very crispy are the only issues though. Staff friendly, efficient service and ease of dining all on point.
G. C. B.
Sunday Lunch Carvery meal for 7, standard portions more than adequate, can't imaging eating the large let alone the bigger one. Small was ideal for a pensioner or children but not exactly small either. Food and service great. Will be going again.
M.
We came here for Easter Sunday and it was so disappointing. So you can only order via app services, we didn’t realise and had to ask (30 minutes) after we fiddled with downloading the app we were able to go and queue. Only one person was serving which meant it took 20 minutes to be served.
The meat was extremely bland and dry I had turkey and beef. Zero seasoning.
The kids play area, I thought fantastic but all the items had been removed.
The cakes looked fantastic but didn’t try.
L. S.
Good meal however venue has started to look shabby eg torn seats and toilets not the best and often out of order
S. B.
Nice carvary but very busy need more bar staff to ensure quicker service. Ordered a pudding never arrived, asked for a refund as the rest of my table had finished, the waitress said ok, refunded but no apology.
s. T.
No Carvery today, but was advised of this when booking, food was tasty, they were shirt staffed so service a little slow. The kids eating area seating needs a refurb. Would come back again to try carvery
A. B.
Food was nice but the place isn't great. Ripped seats, too hot as no windows open, taps and hand dryer not working. Dodgy toilet locks. Carvery food was really good tho
M. C.
We had the buffet breakfast and we all enjoyed the fresh quality food on offer.
J. C.
Many thanks to staff member kay she helped to make sure my autistic son could eat the only food he likes made us all welcome and helped out lovely lady fab staff member. Lovely food
J. T.
Very busy on our visit on Friday and Heather and TJ worked so hard multitasking on the bar. clearing tables and delivering food. Thank you for your excellent service.
I. P.
An Excellent Carvery with generous portions and Very friendly staff.
The perfect place to eat after a very long drive.
J. M.
Great service today from TJ! Carvery was spot on! And service with a smile throughout, will visit again!
a. L.
Lovely helpful staff, couldn't do enough for my friend and I. Food was lovely great size portions. Carrots cake was huge and took two of us to eat it!!!
A. A.
Brilliantly friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. Meals are hot and fresh.
C. B.
Great portions, friendly staff, a good environment for family meal. Book in advance!
S. T.
Very good food, come here most weeks with nan. Lovely service (Jade) :)
T. B.
Met friends for Christmas lunch. When we arrived the tables were set by the window. Unfortunately the table didn't allow for easy access but as soon as staff were informed they quickly rallied round moving tables and chairs.
Tables were dressed with a paper tablecloth and glassware were dressed with napkins and everyone had a cracker to pull.
When all had arrived we were asked about our starters and was swiftly brought out. A slight mistake had been made when ordering one of the main courses but we were told this would not be a problem and it wasn't. All meals were available at the same time and was lovely.
The staff were attentive and there was no pressure on us to leave once we had finished eating.
A very enjoyable lunch/afternoon had by all
C. R.
When we visited, the pub was full to the brim (if we hadn't booked a table we would have been turned away) which hopefully speaks to the general success of the pub however I ordered a dish which was advertised to come with chips on the menu and there were no chips with it, and my partner's burger was meant to have beef brisket but again this was missing with no explanation as to why. The staff were definitely (albeit understandably) rushed and this did show in the service and food given. However, for the price the food was decent and the desserts were fabulous especially their specialty cakes.
J. H.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, great value! Would definitely recommend!
V. P.
Was served by Kay and I must say she was very helpful with our needs in fact over and above helpful hope she’s appreciated by management
T. M.
When for my daughters birthday and yet again lovely welcome friendly service and the food was fantastic and so well priced its our favourite place to dine out at
R. P.
Arrived today with my wife just after 12pm , we are regular customers for a carvery but today we're so disappointed to be offered roast potatoes that were like rocks. We asked if there where any fresh but they were all the same. These were clearly reheated from a previous day and like many others we had to settle for boiled and mash.
Not what we have come to expect.
A. S.
Good family carvery but also does other quick meals.
P. M.
The best carvery I've ever been to.
Keep up the good work.
J. G.
The food was great, staff were attentive and the menu options were vast. I will be returning again and highly recommend others try this place out.
C. S.
Just popped in for a drink but have been several times for the excellent carvery....great value.
C. C.
AMAZING !!! staff are so nice & now I’ve got an addiction to getting too good to go bags from here every other day / no regrets just need to start going to the gym 🤫 it tastes sooooo good
F. L.
Excellent carvery!! Lots to choose from
So much flavour.
Ice cream is delicious. Deserts are huge. Staff very welcoming and pleasant.
Returning customers. Thank you for filling us all up with your lovely food.
D. S.
Used to be brilliant...food still tastes as good but the portion sizes are much smaller!
R. M.
Great value for money, good food great service. Served by Caitlin who was excellent 👌
C. B.
Good service very friendly kind young lady waiters cosy and still covid safe. Well cooked food though chicken medley was bit crispy dark but tasty yummy had the tomato salsa with it can't rem the name but wasn't pepper corn sauce it was good. Not sure about plastic pint glass though was bigger and needed 2 hands pick it up. Few dirty water marks on it too.
D. O.
Had a nice meal, festive burger that was a Christmas dinner in a burger. Was not too busy, social distancing was not a problem, the staff were efficient and polite.
We shared a cheesecake dessert it was massive.
Would recommend and will be going back.
M. B.
A very busy restaurant but we didnt have to wait too long for our food to arrive.
The food was good but wasn't very hot.
Some of the carpets were dirty and covered in crumbs. We accept that they were busy but there were lots of young staff members clearing tables so Im sure at least one of them could be armed with a small dustpan and brush.
The menu's were really filthy and must be cleaned. We still have covid about so this should be basic hygiene. The ladies toilets bafly beed an update. The tiles under the hand dryers were very dirty and all surfaces were grubby.
J. R.
I was actually quite disappointed after visiting one of this chains pubs in Nottingham last week. The carvery was not being very well run as was running out of lots of things. Lots of the items had stood for too long and burnt/dried out. They were also sold out of most of their famous cakes which was disappointing as we had gone to celebrate a birthday. Please ty of parking large queues to get served but very polite helpful waiting staff.
S. G.
Great service and great value with plenty of choice in meat and sides.
But beef was very very tough so would avoid that in future
K. J.
Been here a few times and always good food. Never had to wait for a table and great service.
J. S.
What a feast! The carvery was the best I had in my life! Everything so fresh and tasty!
Will definitely come back for more!
J. R.
Came here for breakfast was OK typical buffet breakfast so not super amazing but still nice. Staff very friendly
K. W.
A pre golf buffet type breakfast which was good value and enjoyed.
G. R.
Having eaten here several times this time was by far the worst. Having to wait ten minutes to place my order , with four people in front of me you would think with the number of staff around someone would help to take orders and not leave it to one person, who by the way was very friendly and good at her job . Starter was fine but mains weren’t great at all. I’ve had the fish supper three times , first time it was brilliant with everything fresh , second time it was alright but this time the fish was dried up and very small and the chips the same. My partner went to carvery and ordered the root vegetable pie. Was told it would be a couple of minutes and to get vegetables and they would bring it over . My food came and after chasing it twice the pie came out 15 minutes later when I’d finished eating and she had just picked at vegetables. . The pie pastry was rubbery and filling not nice at all. The food was left and when asked by waitress if we had enjoyed meal we said no it was terrible. The response we got was oh I’ve not had the pie before !
Customer service seems to be of little importance here , so take your chances if you want to but we won’t again !
C. B.
We were a party of 4 and ordered the all day breakfast and 3 carverys. Food was tasty and cooked well. Nice clean place with a nice ambience. Service was fine, staff were nice.
A couple quirky habits they seem to have in there that I've never seen anywhere else are you queue for drinks at the bar in a straight line like you do in Tesco etc. What is the point of that when the bar is a traditional shape where you expect to wait along the length of it? Likewise the bar staff see you waiting for service at one end of the bar and instead of coming over to you like a regular bar, they call you over to the furtherest away till on the other side of the bar! What if you are disabled? Again, it's like you'd get in a supermarket, why? It's so annoying and unnecessary in a bar environment .
Drink prices have jumped since I last visited. £14.00 odd for 2 pints of lager and 2 regular diet Cokes!
We all enjoyed the day though and we will be back in the future.
J. H.
Why do bar staff pour guiness last then make u wait while it settles. Also loom at your like your an intruder while u wait for someone to be bothered to come carve the meat. Food good when we got it.
D. b. c.
Am Putting this on my places To go only bad thing I can say is toilet needs up dating the food 10/10
S. L.
Staff very friendly, food delicious. Thank you.
L. P.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.
D. B.
Been here a few times. Ideal for somewhere to eat when passing. Staff are attentive and polite. Worth a visit.
D. H.
Carvery was lukewarm. Yorkshire puddings were hard.
H.
We have the carvety, excellent food and good value staff helpful and friendly
C. B.
Excellent food and service...good choice of meals...good value for money...would go again
b. p.
We have had several carveries and meals here but this was the worst ever, meat was fine, vegetables were generally under cooked, potatoes were stuck to the bottom of the pan, roast potatoes were like little leather jackets, sauces were nothing to write home about, I think they have let their standards drop somewhat! Some Ales on the menu were unavailable!
C. H.
confusing Golden years option. Veg been too long under heaters.
cheap and cheerful
M. W.
Even though there’s never enough staff serving at weekends-especially on the dessert counter- this is so much value for money and huge portions of their cakes which can also be taken away - called ‘cakeaway’. The only real let down is the staff on carvery - depending on his mood - he usually moans about his day or food levels etc and I want to be greeted with a smile or friendly banter.
Breakfast is only £3.45 when I ate last time and tea and coffee is unlimited and so is the toast which you make yourself on the usual conveyor belt toaster- all included in the price.
Brewers Fayre is £9.49 ish !!
T. O.
Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends, very relaxed atmosphere. It is a corporate look venue, once inside you could almost be anywhere in the country, but that means you know where everything is. I used the Greene King app to order and pay for food and drinks, a first for me, and I was impressed with the ease of this and speed of service. I would have given 5 stars but some food spillage on delivery and collection at the table spoilt this.
Having said that, will definitely revisit this establishment in the future.
N. H.
Amazing food, great price and quick service. They could not do enough for us, wonderful.
S. f. B.
Nice meal, busy atmosphere. Friendly staff, only annoying thing was the main and the dessert I had chosen where both unavailable, hence the 4 stars. Good value.
M. P.
My daughter and son in law treated their mothers to mother's Day lunch, was very busy but my daughter ordered everything via an app and it came very quickly.
W. F.
Amazing food, there has been great service and a fantastic atmosphere. However I recommend that you should pre-book due to the lack of spaces. The Dirty Hunter burger absolutely made my day!!!
S. T.
Good choice of food but had to ask for salt, pepper, vinegar to go with dishes - which seem to be put down in a hurry that we didn't even get a chance to ask for anything, let alone be offered any condiments.
One server was not masked when he came to our table !
Reasonable price, waiter was welcoming but just that the dishes seemed to be dumped on the table as fast as possible. Won't return.
S. C.
First time here!, absolutely banging carvery, decent portions, friendly staff, excellent prices
A. G.
Just had a lovely carvery meal in a great Pub.
The Asst Manager Stuart was super helpful and the young chef took real effort to explain the food and how the Carvery works.
My waitress was very helpful .
I recommend this place and will be back
C. L.
Lovely carvery, Staff Friendly, Only Downside no parsnips
S. M.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch there with nice food not microwaved. Decided to do breakfast and again a great meal and value for money. Friendly staff, tables spaced out well.
G. M.
Getting worse on the service. Hi Stuart, we were left standing for ages at the Carvery counter whilst the rest of the family ate their meals. We were at the front in plenty of time but it seemed you had loads of takeaway meals to do which took priority. When we tried to speak to passing staff he told us he was too busy as he was doing 18 different things. This was a week day as well.
S. H.
Took at last minute booking for 5 people as we been let down by brewers fayre. The carvery was really good. This place has really improved since it first opened. The staff are friendly and helpful.
l. b.
Ate at noon but food was still only lukewarm at best. Yorkshires had a dreadful oily taste which was really unpleasant. Staff were lovely and friendly but I don’t think I’ll go again.
N. W.
Very well organised. Booked table online and then downloaded green king app.
When arrived we ordered our drinks and food using the app. Our tickets were bought over for carvery and were told we could go and queue for it. All very quick and easy. Food was lovely and they aren't shy with the portions. The dessert portions were crazy. Much to my kids delight. Staff very friendly and helpful.
P. C.
Run out of a choice of meats
Vegetables looked a bit overcooked but taste was okay. Turkey cooked nicely
J. E.
Food here is pretty average but served quickly which is a bonus, staff are very good and attentative. Covid regs observed but unfortunately tables not cleaned properly and never saw a chair back wiped as customers have to pull a chair away from the table to sit down. Manager very social.
M. S.
Great mixed grill had tonight, great service also.
C. H.
Have just been here for the second time. On the first occasion everything was pretty much as you would expect from a large chain restaurant. I think this is still pretty much the case but have upgraded to 5 stars. Had the steak and ale pie which was very nice and a good sized helping. The staff were very attentive and professional. Special mention for Sam who was particularly helpful. Thank you team.
W. M.
Service was slow but probably due to having to provide table service where they are usually taking orders at the bar. Our food took a long while so not a place to go if you're in a hurry. I have given 4 stars for food and value for money, service was only 3 star but we weren't rushing to leave. Good that they have a gluten free menu
a. a.
Mapole Farm has always been a good place to go if you are looking for a Carvery but at this visit I felt that they had lost a bit in the service area. As it was pre-lockdown removal we ordered by the App as we had been asked (an experience in itself) but because they had obviously put back all the tables taken out during social distancing in anticipation of relaxation the following week the servers (and there were not enough of those) did not know where the table was so left the meals delivering those they knew the location of. In the end the manager bought them as he had realised that no one had taken them, so they were a little overdone. And then it was time for desert and although the lady who cleared our first course plates asked and we said that we had ordered on the app another 10 minutes past by and still no food. We caught the eye of the manager again and he went to look for it and came back and said they would be another 5 minutes - my guess is that they were sitting there like the mains but as ice cream was involved on both plates that had melted and they had to start again. It will not stop us going again but we may try elsewhere for a time!!!
M. S.
Friendly staff, tasty hot food 🍲 nice range of delicious desserts
Just like you expect
R. N.
Pleasantly surprised. I’m not usually a big fan of chain restaurants, but the young lady who served us was very polite, the food was lovely and it even had allergy options for my little girl, which we struggle to find usually. The portion sizes are perfect and the ice creams are delicious.
My only negative is the toilet and play area were a little dirty, which I get is to be expected when it’s a family area but the toys do need to be regularly wiped down I think. I get some people don’t bother to wipe their children’s hands before they walk off, but a quick checkover of both areas I think is essential.
A. M.
Great food and service, would recommend
N. P.
Big clean nice environment food is good quick to be served and food to table
D. T.
Went here for Sunday lunch for family birthday food was ok, service was slow as not enough staff on carvery station, staff member did what he could, desserts were average portions were to large although you could take home if you wanted, only small things so would visit again.
P. R.
Great place, friendly atmosphere, good food, very fair prices. Would definitely recommend this place
B. N.
Very nice food, loved the staff very polite and positive good customer services friendly people very good restaurant
m. w.
A carvery that serves food that is a delight. Very impressed by regular top-ups of the vegetables and the meat portions were generous. Can't fault it for the very good price
S. P.
Had a lovely evening with friends. Carvery was very enjoyable. Staff were friendly and we were not kept waiting at any time during the evening. Would go again definitely.
O.
Love the carvary, warm friendly staff. Would give it 5 stars but not too keen on their puddings: sponge too sweet, custard too small quantity, and I can certainly make better crumbles at home! Otherwise good restaurant, location, and atmosphere too.
M. R.
Great carvery. Lots of facilities that I haven't used but look good, such as an under 5s play area and a baby food prep area with a microwave and plastic bowls. Only gripes are I'm not a huge fan of the vegetarian tart, but you don't have to have it. Good value for money anyway, have 8 people eat for under £100 including drinks. Vegan menu is fair
T. H.
We arrived for dinner at 6 pm, we had booked a table. We were told that they were running out of meat ,so we should go straight to the meat counter, before it was all gone!! There was no turkey left at all!! We were very disappointed, & will not be going back for a while.
K. C.
Very polite staff, quick to be seated, lovely food as always :)
D. B.
Very accomodating for disabled people the food was lovely.
S. H.
Waitresses always very friendly and helpful.
Bar staff often surly and sometimes elusive.
Food good . It's a great place for kids. ..with just the right sized portions and plenty of choice. And they love the play area.
Carvery staff always very obliging...and it's good tasting.
A. M.
Staff friendly food nice would recommend.
A. C.
Missed this restaurant so much.
Thank for the great service.
And with the covid adjustments were very good. It is worth going due to this. Very safe and the staff are amazing.
Please keep these new rules in place to keep us all safe
S. S.
Lovely meal and stayed chatting til close, no pressure to leave
l. b.
Best food I have had in a long time, friendly atmosphere and staff. Cake sizes are the largest and most delightful I have had. Can't wait to go back!
S. Z.
Eaten here several times, obviously with the new regulations you come to expect that service may be somewhat slower than normal. However, the Maypole team seem to have it under control. We use the APP, easy to use and drinks come over remarkably quick!, food served promptly too. Great food at a good fair price, smiley team and still a pleasure to visit. Looking forward to it opening again in December!!! Thumbs up.
A. R.
Lovely place to eat, not massively expensive either 👌 and if youre thirsty for a soft drink you should definitely try the ultimate size drinks!!
L. B.
Service a bit slow. Food good, but have had better.
Lovely touch was Mrs Claus telling the children a story
A. S.
Visited on a Sunday with partner and toddler. Had a carvery and the food was good. Lots of room for daughter to have a run around and play after. The chef was very friendly and fun and the ice cream selection is awesome. Very reasonably priced and not too busy when we went (12pm)... perhaps because the England game was on
A. H.
A good carvery and family friendly-pub. We visited on a busy Sunday night and were still made to feel welcome (we'd booked which probably helped!). If you're familiar with a Toby carvery, you'll get the idea; we had a meal from the menu (lamb shank - very tasty), kids menu (sausage & mash - all eaten) and the carvery itself which was hot and fresh. Prices were very reasonable and the cake very tasty. We will return if we're passing by again.
k. f.
Ok, kids area lacking only a few things there to keep them occupied. Limited cake choices to when previously visited (3 years ago) and cake was dry and over cooked. Cheap but not the greatest value
R.
Good value carvery. Huge cakes baked in house, also house baked desserts. Vegan menu available. Separate family friendly dining area. Order at bar. Friendly staff, good prices. Popular but got in without booking.
A. C.
GREAT food! Carvery was exceptional. We had a take away, biggest slice of carrot cake! FANTASTIC staff. Remember Sam, if I win the raffle uts all yours!
G. G.
Good location, service and selection plus value for money and accommodating. I've been there a few times. Happy to go back.
C. K.
I had the chicken and leek pie which was nice. Lots of chicken pieces and a good flaky pastry top and crust. However the gravy was terrible. It was really thick and lumpy - so much so, it wouldn't actually pour out the gravy boat, I had to scoop it out! When the waitress came around to check if everything was alright with our meals, I did tell her it was good, except for the gravy, she said sorry about that and walked off. I had hoped she might come back with some fresh gravy, but no! So it was all a bit dry! Rather disappointing in the level of service. What is the point of asking how your meal is and you say and then nothing is done to sort it!
R. R.
Have been here several times. Have never waited to be seated and the menu has plenty of choice. I would personally not have the carvery as it is not manned when i have been there so there are normally people waiting to be served. All the meals i have had are excellent bar the sea bass which was very oily. The cakes are fantastic, though i now stay away as they are too big and very very sweet.
C. D.
Drinks and service great. Food OK for pub food. But only tried cheese burger and chips... cannot complain as well priced and large plates
M. B.
Absolutely full today. I had to use some of my bottled water to wash my wine glass which was filthy. I'm sure the carvery was nice I only had the sweet. 3 small pieces of meringue in the Eton Mess but the ice cream was lovely the display cases needed a good clean and we had to wash our cutlery in my bottled water too
C. C.
It was nice to get out and eat something I hadn't cooked. Unfortunately the safety measures they made a point of telling me weren't followed. The one way system was ignored. The table next to us had 2 people shown to it. They had their drinks and left and another couple were shown to the table which had not been wiped

Living in Australia and only able to return to the UK every few years I look forward to my guilty pleasures. A good carvery is one of them!!! Australia is great but they just don't a good carvery lol. Maypole didn't disappoint. The food was glorious. You have a choice of three plate sizes. This basically dictates how much meat you get. There were 4 choices when we went. Once you've collected your meat you are free to load up on salad and vegetables. I certainly did and couldn't move when I'd finished. The evening we went there was also live entertainment which was great too. The staff were polite and efficient and I'm going to make this the venue of choice when I return to three UK next.
N. G.
We went in after the lockdown eased, welcoming stuff was very polite and make sure we understood the one way system. You can order food using mobile app but it has little customisation for your food. Single use menus and healthy distance from other people. Food was great as for a pub food. Will come back for sure :)
r.
Good COVID-19 measures, one way system, served your buffet breakfast, masks on when moving around, bathroom 1 in 1 out. Buffet breakfast was lovely, good price and eggs benedict and waffles with bacon were also nice. Great pricing all round and friendly staff. Would recommend and return.
S. L.
The food was OK but it would have been much better if the veg on the carvery had been refreshed more quickly and the peas that accompanied my gammon weren't bullet hard! Maxine was, as always, a star and the hot chocolate was hot.
S. F. T. L. H.
15/8/21 update. Forst time weve been there for a year. Went there with some friends, warmly greeted when we got there. Service was quick and controlled well. Have to say, for the price it was superb. Had 2 courses and couldnt fault any of it. Good job guys. You got your extra star thos yr.
A super carvery. But book ahead or your going to have one hell of a wait. Nice clean interior. Decent service.
D. C.
A nice family restaurant with a brilliant selection of foods and drinks to choose from. The restaurant seems clean and the majority of the staff seem kind and helpful. Some of them seem to rush around a bit and just need to breathe and slow down. Didn't have to wait for a table and I like the fact you get to choose where you can sit. The "no children" section of the restaurant is also a good idea, but the same for the play area for young children. Reasonably priced and good location. I'd highly recommend the chicken curry skewers. Definitely a good change from when it first opened.
R. W.
The food is fantastic a great choice from the menu for both adults and children. There desert menu is amazing i rather like the ice cream sundaes. The staff are very friendly. Everything is reasonably priced. A good place to go with family or friends
G. H.
Been here a few times now but first time having the carvery. Good value and friendly staff.
Late afternoon is probably the wrong time to have carvery. Roast meats were very good but the veg. had been sat too long on the hot plates/lights and had dried out or become a bit too mushy. That sai, it didn't cost very much.
Not had any problems with the meals chosen from the menu which have always been very good.
Gave it 5 stars despite the carvery veg.
J. B.
Was hung over needed a quick belly full of food. We were seated straight away two adults 2 kids. Kids are from the menu we had carvery. Good choice lots of meat loads of veg all fresh. Will be back.
P. L.
Didn't use toilets so cannot comment. Staff were very friendly. Good size standard carvery with lots of vegetables to choose from. Family members who had the beef all commented that it was tough, hence four, not five, stars.
g. h.
Peaceful lunch, helpful staff especially Jade.
Y. T.
Food and service excellent tonight but the music was far too loud ☹🥺🥴😞😫
In your response to my review i was in a party of 16 people, so could you have moved all of us ? I don't think so 🤔
a. t.
Really good value for money, well staffed and a great choice of food on the menu. Food was hot and well presented / fairly portioned. It could do with a little more attention to wiping tables down etc. but for a busy pub its really good value, way better than the Brewers Fayre next door which is more expensive and terrible.
P. S.
I only popped in here for a drink with friends and it seemed alright. The food on the car very smelt great and it had a Toby Carvery sort of feel to the place.
T. F.
Carvery was ok. Meat was good but roast potatoes had been out too long and were hard and not nice to eat. Staff seemed lethargic and uninterested. Had to ask several times for my grandson's ice cream and table not cleared until he'd finished it. Can't use the number of customers as an excuse cos the place wasn't busy
P. M.
The food was amazing and the service was quick. Not busy. Carvery was well managed to keep everyone at a distance. Would definitely recommend.
J. J.
As a parent of a toddler, the play area alone means that they get 5 stars. It's such a clever addition to a family restaurant and means our eating experience is much better. Overall there's a good selection of food at the Carvery (i've not really ordered off the normal menu). We've mostly been on a Sunday and it does get very busy so worth going slightly early if at all possible.
D. C.
Good food but the app ordering needs work, waited 30 mins for a pint and after asking staff was told they didn't know that beer so didn't get it..lol
G. a.
Friendly staff, nice food and massive portions always a treat
J. C.
The carvery is excellent value for money with a really wide selection to choose from. Three or four different meats and lots of vegetable dishes. Well worth a visit. They also offer really great lunch options and quick snacks and a wide range of drinks. All in all a great place to go with friendly and welcoming staff
A. P.
Booked a table for 10 on Easter Sunday, all the staff where polite and friendly. The Carvery is amazing, they even give you three plate size options, extremely good value for money. The deserts and cakes are amazing.
k. w.
Staff lovely and helpful and friendly. Food was very disappointing. Prawns were tasteless and bread stale. The lettuce was bitter and the lemon wedge was ice on one side. Carvery was ok. Best was the pudding. Would not recommend
N. R.
A real mixed bag. I have had a few meals here and never had a consistent experience with the cooking quality of the veggies at this place. The roast potatoes were undercooked (hard) and Yorkshire pudding doughy when a ate here last. Other menu offerings are good quality and varied from what I have tried.
L. W.
Go here regularly as very local to home. However, never know what experience you’ll Get! When it’s good food is good. Carvery meat is generally good but the veg can be very indifferent. Burgers off main menu are excellent. Wife loves the Mac & cheese here too. Service is always slow, but genial so if you’re in a hurry......
J. J.
Mixed experiences here.. Sometimes food and service is lovely, sometimes absolutely rubbish. Generally quite overpriced for the quality of the food in all honesty. Meat/fish often dry and over cooked, sauce either watery or lumpy! Ever so occasionally they get it spot on, but definitely not consistently. High chairs often left mucky and need cleaning by next users. Cakeaways are delicious.
P. A.
Had a good Sunday carvery here, well priced, quality of meat and selection of veg definitely beats Toby carvery. The staff were friendly and prices were good. Definitely enjoyed our meal.
L. S.
It was the first time at the restaurant Food was lovely would highly recommend a visit but couple of staff could do with a bit of training on customer service 🤔 but despite that very nice 👍
M. I.
SelecWe all had carvery so cant say for all range of food in there but we liked what we had: 4 kinds of meat and good selection of vegetable. The only food disappoint was a giant Yorkshire pudding which was closer to cardboard by taste.
All stuff was super nice and lovely.
I gave 4 starts because it was incredibly hot in there, like +28. Sort out your air conditioning and people will stay for puddings!
N. P.
This was the location of my works do this year. We were all together in one location. To get us all in they had arranged the tables in a horse shoe shape which worked good for space saving but not when we waned to talk to someone we had our back to. 1st world problems.
The food however was amazing. Big portions and if you are there just as a family there's a big selection.
The cake portions are out of this world but if you ask they do give you a box to take home your cake.
J. G.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the menu had a good choice. The interior is a little tatty in places, but doesn't spoil the visit. It's a typical chain style restaurant, so don't expect anything to adventurous with the menu. The food was decent and served fairly quickly.
C. B.
Popped in for tea, superb food, excellent service, spotlessly clean. Good welcome from the host Tamzin. All the staff amazing, would totally recommend.
I. R.
Fabulous food and surroundings. Big thank you to the Italian chef who carved the meat for our party. A very funny, loud, jolly, enthusiastic man who made us giggle. He's a credit to Maypole. The desserts were awesome. Will definitely be returning
R. K.
Food was awesome, although I was hungry! Massive portions and very inviting staff. Great selection of drinks/desserts/cakes and ice creams. The bubblegum flavour was definitely my cup of tea!
B. S.
Reasonable priced menu. The carvery has 3 prices depending on the meal size that you want. The only down is that if some people want carvery and others want off the menu coordinating so that it arrives together. The deserts are absolutely huge, massive, but fantastic
A. B.
Friendly attentive staff, good value for money. Portion sizes are large. Food I would describe as your standard pub grub/Wetherspoon standard. Order at the bar scenerio. I can recommend saving space for their dessert as you can choose from a selection of cakes/cheesecake and again good in the portions you get a nice big slice!
R. T.
The steak was raw,not medium rare. Saved by the 2 waiter and waitress who helped us. They took our old plates away, got us new dinners cooked! Great service, Many thanks Guys!
C. M.
Staff is unreal, specially Ryan! Will be back again!
M. R.
First time we have used this restaurant. Very large place but seemed quite clean. food was very nice and staff were friendly. My wife especially liked the cake takeaway or cakeaway as its called. If I have a gripe it would be having to walk through the smokers and dog ends to enter the pub.
G. D.
Decent enough food service good.
В. В.
The best pub in Bedfordshire to go with small kids. They have two areas, one with a nice playground inside for kids and another one is no small kids area. The food is good and you have a nice choice including their very good carvery. The prices are quite modest and definitely worth the food and service you get. Overall great place, strongly recommended.
S. B.
This is a nice relaxing restaurant for both lunch time and evening meals. It’s certainly geared more to dining that being a pub, with no lounge area present. Food is ordered at the bar rather than there being full table service. The food menu is pretty varied and everything I’ve tried so far has been of decent quality and good portion size meaning it’s good value for money. Behind the bar there’s a wide range of drinks, both on draught and bottled.
They offer a large carvery at one end of the restaurant where there’s a further large dining area. For the price it too is good value, with brilliant deals available during the week and daytimes. If you’re in a larger group then it’s possible to arrange the tables to accommodate.
If you’re a cake lover then their fresh counter will certainly delight - massive slices of delicious looking treats are available, both to eat in and also take away.
All the staff are friendly and good at checking things are ok with meals, bringing additional things like sauces quickly. The service behind the bar can be a little slow during busy periods but normally it’s acceptable. Tables are always kept clean and the toilets are also well kept.
It’s a good no-fuss place and one I keep returning to so can only recommend!
K. W.
A fairly large, busy and we'll equipped carvery which has a separate menu. The carvery was average really. With exception to the dessert menu (Specifically the cakes which are massive!) Nothing stood out as being exceptional. I'd go again but will avoid peak times and school holidays. It's carnage.
S. S.
Amazing new menu staff very welcoming bar has very good drinks choice clean friendly atmosphere will go again
m. t.
Great Carvery, great quality….wide selection of vegetables and the staff are welcoming and very helpful…went here after a recommendation and been back several times since
J. T.
A large restaurant with a fixed menu or with a carvery on a Sunday only. Serves Breakfasts, lunch and dinner. The Maypole has a very large selection of ice cream flavours to choose from and a large selection of cakes as well. These are usually on show in the display cabinets next to the bar. My experience of eating there has always been pleasurable with friendly bar staff and waiters/waitresses. Good quality food as well. Disabled parking and accessibility is always available.
F. L.
Food potentially good in carvery-pity that at 6.30p.m saturday. there were so many vegetable dishes running low-red cabbage run out completely, just the dried-up remains, and staff saying they would bring some to our table when more was ready-half an hour later came & told us there wouldn't be any more! Other dishes running out, only 2 spoons of cranberry sauce left, nobody topping up Turkey was delicious though
A. A.
I have since been back and the food and service was impeccable. Thanks very much.
Excellent staff, food and service. I had to give 4 instead of 5 because we,had to prompt for our pudding after waiting for over 40 minutes.
M. D.
Food was ok, service was good but major downer was the fact they'd ran out of cakeaway eclairs!
J. H.
I wrote an earlier review giving this place 2 stars, but I've been back a few times since and I was wrong, it's a lovely place to eat. I must have caught them on a bad day.
P. M.
Great place to take the kids on a Sunday for lunch. You'll be in there with tons of other young families so you don't really need to worry about bothering other people and they have a really pretty impressive kids play area although it is all slightly well loved. Foods okay, it seems to vary from middling to pretty good depending on the day.
D. J.
Not been here for a while - the food quality and service had dropped quite markedly since it opened.
However, new landlord (Alan of The Chequers at Houghton Conquest fame!) has breathed new life into the place and it clearly shows!
Service was prompt and friendly, and the carvery was really very good indeed - hot, fresh and tasty!
We'll definitely go back and try the a la carte menu!
J. C.
We have used the Maypole many times on many special occasions, it really is hit and miss. We usually have the carvery which can be lovely fresh and hot or not a lot left and the chef can be grumpy!. We went again yesterday and was disappointed, the meat was so thin and not even a whole slice, the roast potatoes were soggy, the roast parsnips were under cooked. The staff are hard working and friendly.
P. M.
Loved it since it opened. Serves Breakfast, has a huge menu choice throughout the day and night and has a permanent Carvery which is great when you just want dinner right now. Offers a large play area for Children, where you can choose to dine in eyeshot of what they're doing. If you want to just drink, that's cool but if you prefer to be in a pub go to a pub, I'd say.
A. G.
Been for a Sunday roast a few times. Well priced and good wholesome grub. Nice play area for the lad too.
Queues can get a bit mad but that's because it is popular.
Good selection for my son too, very happy.

Very enjoyable brèakfast with guys from church. Standard of food and service much higher than I had become accustomed to pre-covid. Hence 4 stars. Had buffet breakfast which was all fine and good. Most important all was freshly prepared. Bottomless coffee too. Had the standard at 5.99 which was very good value for money.
Service was very efficient and professional which I could not say it was previously.
Well done :)
J. G.
Restaurant was fine. Staff pleasant. Food choices very good and reasonably priced. I decided to have Chicken Tikka Masala. Looked like a half portion of chicken with enough rice for 2 people. When I complained I was told this was the portion correct size. This was a well rehearsed response that tells me I am not the first to complain. Incidently my husbands Smothered Chicken was huge. Something wrong there.
J. S.
Food was OK, service bit slow and the place was dirty.
P. F.
By far my favourite place to eat in bedford. Know for there carvery which is so dam good. Also have a great menu if you're not up for carvery. There main thing about this place is there cakes for dessert. Plenty to choose from. You get a massvie piece and you can always take it home.
A. Q.
Kids love it! Went in to get ice cream/hot chocolates for the kids after a cold walk but for 3 quid you can get a kids meal with a scoop of ice cream included so kids got fed too for very little! The kids play area is a bit limited but the kids still enjoy it
S. G.
Food was very nice but service was poor. Very slow with ordering system. Only one person taking the orders but also doing drink orders. Had to wait for salad bowl and waiting for the chef to come and serve at the carvery. Not sure I would be looking to come back soon. Very disappointed.
H. D.
Mediocre slightly overcooked food, limp aged salad/veg made up for with big portions. Chaotic staff who walk off in the middle of you ordering then someone else turns up to start again. Lipstick marks still on my glass from a previous user yuk!. Great desert selection , atmosphere was relaxed but doubtful I would hurry back.
S. D.
Just made it in time for breakfast which was lovely.
j.
Went for breakfast on a Saturday. Had the £6.99 standard self serve breakfast which was nice enough. Only down side was the lack of coffee and hot water for tea. We arrived at 10.30 ish and breakfast finishes at 11.00. I can only assume they let the tea and coffee work it's way down to nothing before moving over to the lunch menu, leaving breakfast customers a little thirsty!!
S. S.
Been more than once and its hit and miss. Prices are average, depends on what you want but you can get good meal under £10. Food was cold one time had to be reheated it may be due to long waiting times. Staff are helpful and place clean. Big carpark but always busy
G. B.
Half decent. On the few occasions we as a family have been it is generally dirty tables and floors , staff don't look too enthusiastic about being there! Kids love the play area when there isn't an over 5yr old running the kids over...
R. M.
There is plenty of parking outside the restaurant, staff are very welcoming.
The food we had was lovely and reasonably priced for sizes given.
Lovely little place, we will be back to try more on the menu (and the cavery as looked and smelt good)
S. W.
Food was hot, choice was good, quality was average, service was slow. You could do worse for a bite to eat but I don't think this place is a destination. Prices are ok so the budget conscious will probably find menu choices and, given that the Red Lion has lost the plot, this could benefit Maypole Farm.
I didn't feel cheated when I left but I also didn't think about going back either.
P. G.
Great place for a quick bite to eat the carvery is amazing and the puddings are a bit on the big size which is fine with me,
J. O.
Good quality carvery at a modest price. Other meals available too. Modern pub/restaurant but nicely designed. Staff were good but would be better with a few more of them about. Will visit again
d. D.
great service . Great food and so friendly staff.
Manager 10/10 for warmth and always pointing us to the right thing on menu and chit chat .. brilliant..
c. e.
Long wait - there was a mix up with our order but we got the deserts for free as compensation (without us even asking) so all good. Btw - deserts were delicious!
A. B.
Good food nice staff good standard of service recommended but please fix the carpet and have the cakes available
D. O.
A lovely family restaurant. Separate part for families with little ones. Large bar area, great carvery. Cakes highly recommended, look amazing but also taste so good and you can cakeaway!
G. A.
Hmm food great, fresh and plenty obviously had carvery and wifey had mushroom pie veggie alternative which was good. Deserts fab and some are huge!! 2 nd time here and had booked table so no worries about wait staff ok mostly clean nice size kids area but some of the bits in there could do with a Really good clean!!! ( big plastic play tree base thick black grime in all creases)
P. H.
Good food but not too expensive, much bigger place than I thought so you can usually get a table easily. Quiet enough for families with a decent pub quiz and occasional live music. And the chocolate brownies are huge!
H. S. J.
Great area for kids, perfect for families. Food was delicious and amazingly good value too.
B. B.
Me and my wife had a lunch date here.
The food is very nice and served on time . The staff are very.helpful and friendly, I like the personal touch.
Very enjoyable, we will go again
P. D.
The food is very good and at a reasonable price good menu with plenty of choice. The big breakfast is brilliant. Staff very pleasant and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them a great experience
M. M.
Very nice food and the cakes are enormous!
l. w.
Very pleased with the service by all members of staff, had, carvey very good, on another occasion had steaks, rump and rib eye, both very good would recommend
M. E.
Food very tastey and ample portions. Service excellent. Could not fault anything.
P. D.
As can be expected from a chain carvery, the menus offer plenty of choice and the food is of a decent standard. Nothing stands out to justify 5 stars, but a good place for a meal after a day out!
G. l.
Really nice food there. I like the chicken nuggets a lot and all of the meat there. My friend's mum worked there once and the food was so nice but now she doesn't and it isn't as good, hence why it isn't 5 stars rated.
C. T.
It was farthers day morning, so I was expecting busy ish however there not enough mugs for tea and coffee and when some did appear they were dirty and we used paper cups. The staff member who took the order couldn't work out the still apparently it has been a stressful morning.
All in all average breakfast and nothing special about the place or service
T. R.
Always feel very safe during our visit's here at Maypole. Cant fault it at all probably one of the most safe secure pubs in the area regarding Covid Safe. Well done to all for making it feel safe and clean.
Looking forward to visiting once this second lockdown is over.
B. B.
Usual fare served quickly and hot I enjoyed my chicken and ribs beer choice a bit lacking
L. S.
Very very busy. We ate at around 4.30 but service was excellent despite the amount of people. Ordered food came out at the same time as carvery so noone was waiting. Portions are very generous
P. B.
Waited nearly 40 minutes before our meals came. A lady that worked there asked if we, were still waiting i said we were. She went to the kitchen to ask. She apologised to us and in less than 5minutes the food arrived. It was lovely and tasty. The asistant was so polite and helpful. It makes all the difference.
T. M.
Tender beef, lots of fresh vegetables and generous meat portions. Would recommend.
s. m.
Has a great selection of food to cater for those who want a carvery to burgers or tea and cake with ice cream! Also has a kids section for those with active young ones! Great for families or for an escape from the kids!
m. C.
Food has improved if buying from the menu ,service is slow when waiting for staff to remove plates from table .
d. f.
Awesome find 25mins from Milton Keynes.
Large plate carvery with a choice of 4 meats in a large square yorkie.
Lots of fresh veg.
Only 4 stars.
Yorkie very hard.
Roast Potatoes and Parsnips not cooked enough not crispy.
Gravy very good.
E. S.
Always look forward to going to the carvery. Choice and selection is good and staff helpful and kind.
N. M.
This place is decent if you want somewhere totally family friendly. Kids can run about in the kids area making it stress free. Food is not amazing but the carvery is good value for money!
D. P.
Great curvery food, I had the beef, if you're into éclairs order their one for for sweet, I regret I didn't take a photo, éclair filled with custard and cream, my one topped with toffee and fudge pieces, definitely enough for two, lip smashing goodness.
H. S.
Always feel welcomed at maypole farm, extremely friendly stuff and brilliant food! Feel very safe here despite the covid stuff and can’t wait for it to open again, will be returning straight away! Looking forward to it 😊
P. H.
Excellent restaurant. Friendly professional staff. Delicious food well presented. Make sure you save enough room for the cakes and ice cream! Also just located off A421 for those en route.
j. h.
Staff extremely friendly. Chef especially. My meal was fabulous. Thank you
E. M.
it's not bad...got extra large carvery and found portions small for what I paid on meat and also some of the warm sides were cold even though it had just opened for the day. I have had better.
I. T.
More friendly and slightly better quality than the Brewer's Fayre adjacent. Sells slightly better beer.
The only fault I've found so far are the rubber giant Yorkshire puddings, which aren't especially edible.
A. B.
Went for Aunties birthday. Veg on carvery was too under done and hard. Long wait for desserts apparently they got sidetracked.
Apart from that had lively time.
R. C.
Plenty of parking. Lovely atmosphere. Food well presented and tasty. Good selection of beer. Bar staff surly, waitresses very friendly. Glad we stopped.
S.
Good value Sunday Carvery, puddings to die for but to top all that off there's a couple of lovely ales. All of it is outshined by the waitresses who couldn't have been more helpful and kind if they tried too
T. B.
Tuesday Quiz night is the reason I go and I love it.
Usually aroung 10 teams for an evening of fun filled head scratching with Jayden the quiz master.
People eat, people quiz. Staff are friendly and well turned out, service seems to be about average timewise, food always appears well recieved, plates cleared.
We go in the evenings, its well patronised but far from full and would happily eat there. During the weekend? Hmm not so sure, I think it would be overly busy for just turning up, maybe booking would be a good idea.
c. w.
Lovely dish had, off the menu. Others had the carvery n said the veg was undercooked. Only problem was waiting 45 minutes for our pudding!!
T. G.
Had lunch. Ordered a couple of starters to share and ice cream Sundaes via the app. So easy to use
R.
It's is very lovely here We had a meal on Monday lunch, nice and quiet.
J. C.
It was ok. Didn't get a chance to play in the childrens area as food came incredibly quickly (a plus). Food was standard Harvester / chain pub quality. Incredibly busy when we visited (Saturday afternoon) with a lot of (heavy) drinkers.
L.
Amazing stuff! I ordered 3 farmhouse burgers to go and put a big smile on my housemates faces!! Will definitely be taking a roadtrip out here again to feast on those wonderful burgers!!!
D. M.
Always good food and cakes are to die for.
Plenty of room around the tables and good service.
Always look for vouchers either on the website or voucher codes but good value for money anyway.
M. P.
Adults food, not carvery, as expected. Children's pizza clearly microwaved and therefore soggy. Very poor. Child simply refused to eat it. I think most dogs would.
A. C.
There's a play area for the under 9's who'll love it there.
The food is good too.
Well worth a visit!
J. P.
Just been the once was nice and very nice. Prce was very good. Had three size plates small, mediem and large for the roasts on Sundays from £6.99to£9.99
S. g.

Food was standard. You pay for what you get. big place with a nice kiddies small play area. Ideal for parents with kids. If you go there without kids ask to be sat the other side of the pub.

Lovely place, but the carvery chef is a grumpy person not very friendly, shouted my little daughter for serving extra veg the other day mostly they chuck in the bin end of the day so no making any sense for this attitude, requesting the pub management to sack this miserable idiot otherwise they loose customers.

Worth a try to find out if it is your kind of place. Similar to Toby Carvery but cheaper, larger selection at the Carvery but a bit more self service. Good value for money. I would go again when in the area.

Enjoyable...is what it is. Affordable & child-friendly. Space for a toddler to roam/play. Food OK, portions are generous. Staff are willing to help & quite attentive.

Food is ok... Not bad, but ok. The carpets near the kids area are full of food, because it's near the kids area. I go there when I'm babysitting, enough to keep the drunk midgets entertained

Had a lovely evening with the grandkids, the carvery was lovely, the only fault I could find were the potatoes, you could break windows with the roast spuds & the mash was very dry and lumpy. Otherwise it was a nice meal & good value

Decided to eat out and choose this place i would recommend. I had cheesey chiapata for starters followed by scampi and chips. Wow is all i can say. Was really impressed. But no room for dessert. And the cakes looked yummy.
