We ordered a selection of the starters which arrived very quickly and were piping hot. The bread was so fresh it seemed like it was just baked that day, and the prawns tasted like they had just been lifted out of the ocean. Compliments to the chef and his team.
The waiter made sure my drinks were well topped up much to my delight but not too much for my pregnant wife 🤣 I was drinking for too.
All in all a great menu, fast and friendly service, and the food was to die for. We will definitely be back.

M. S.This restaurant is attached to the travelodge but there is nothing basic about the food, drinks or service. Group of six ladies post visit to matinee at Grand Opera House. Feedback of the three having cocktails, they were obviously very good as 2 had 3 of them. Everyone enjoyed their meals and 2 of us who selected from the pre theatre menu considered the choices were varied and excellent value. The real star was the service in particular the young gentleman who spoke directly to the vulnerable adult in our company and made extra effort to provide her with the dip she wanted. Recommend it to anyone even if street parking is not easy but the multi storey carpark at bus station is only a short walk away.
s. g. v.Incredible GF menu options, also available in the children’s menu because for some reason other restaurants don’t include GF options in the children ‘s one.
When I asked if the ketchup was GF the manager was not sure. I explained that Heinz brand is GF, she said that is the brand they have but went to check anyway. That was good.

J. S.This is a wonderful restaurant! The food is delicious. I enjoyed the colorful plates and the little silver buckets that some of the dishes were served in as well. Very cool vibe and atmosphere. A mix between rustic and hipster according to my daughter. I'm not sure if they were short on servers but it seemed so as the server didn't come around often. She didn't come by after food delivered to see if we needed anything or how the food was. I had to ask another server for our check to be delivered. Still I would go back anytime as the food was so good.

M. M.I haven't been here since they changed the name. Nevertheless, the quality hasn't changed. The atmosphere is great; the place is clean, welcoming and bright; the workers polite and quick to notice; and the food is absolutely delicious!
In these times of covid, it was reassuring to see them clean the tables ever so often and also to see the waitress mindful of social distancing.

S. K.Just came into Actons restaurant for brunch. It has a limited vegan menu but the waiter, Neil, was brilliant, he bent over backward and was more than accomodating. Over all experience is 5 stars for the flavours of the food! And 5/5 for service. We will definitely be back.

Just been diagnosed with Coelitis, so new to the whole gluten free thing. This was our first GF meal out. The menu was full of GF options which didn't spoil the meal. The staff were very good and the price was a nice surprise. Very clean and tidy layout with the whole restaurant keeping to all the current covid rules. We watched as they very expertly cleaned each table and chairs as other diners left. We didn't book and was pleasantly surprised to get a table for two. All in all, this will be a regular for us in the future.

M. C.Myself and some friends went to Acton & Sons on Thursday. From we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive. The menu did not disappoint! So much to choose from and there were a few specials on too. I opted for the seafood casserole. There was plenty of fish (seabass, salmon and prawns) in a lobster bisque. It was DELICIOUS. I can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu. Maybe it's due to COVID but I've no idea why this place wasn't booked out. I'd recommended giving it a try! 😋

C. M.Really very good food and lovely service from friendly waiter. Honestly the best halloumi starter I've ever tasted, baked in a chilli honey glaze. Sea bass for mains was beautifully cooked and served with fresh vegetables and butter. Desert was perhaps not to the same high standard as 1st 2 courses, we had pavlova, still OK though. A very generous glass of ice cold white wine spritzer went down well. On the Eat Out scheme 2 3 course meals cost only £40 plus drinks extra. Worth a visit and will go back.

I think this is a bit mean considering you can buy a whole bag for 99p. They could have been done under the trades description act for that one. My seabass was lovely though.

C. W.What a restaurant! Worth our trip from Portadown. Couldn't fault this restaurant at all. Food to die for, friendly and helpful staff and even though restaurant was really busy nothing seemed a problem. We visited as a family last night 31st August and have no hesitation in returning. We have visited there a few times before. Well Done! Highly recommended.
T. B.Lovely atmosphere, food is very simple but tastes good! Value for money we had the early bird menu plenty of choice. Staff we friendly and helpful. Just lacking that extra touch ie wrong salt in salt seller's, desert spoon given for soup. And desert was a little disappointing, about a table spoon of ice-cream and the rest cream for a sunde at the price felt it could of been better. Apart from this we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend for a tasty bite.
M. R.It was ok, not great. I had the fish and chip which was pretty standard in quality. I did enjoy the mushy peas that came with it. Some of the other people in our group felt that their food was a bit bland, specifically the Moroccan chicken.

Once they knew I was a visitor from Australia they did everything they could to make my meal enjoyable. From the amazing steak, to the pint of Guinness "Just let that settle for a few more seconds sir", to the friendly chats my visit was fantastic. Sadly I have to go home soon, so I won't get another meal on this trip. But next time I'm in Belfast, I will be coming back

Shame as the rack of ribs I had were perfect, (even though I know full well that they were prepared earlier and cooked to perfection}.
You cannot just get a "drink" in the restaurant without purchasing food.
We stayed at Travelodge, to which this restaurant is part of the hotel and provide the breakfast.
I would not recommend the "breakfast" for value for money.
We would come and eat again in the restaurant in the evening if we are to return to this area.

Each time we have got a different dish to try the menu and we can honestly say its the best food in Belfast. D. P.Wait staff were very friendly and pleasant. Food however was bland and overpriced. Had pate to start, which was nothing special. Served with 2 slices of brioche bread that were only toasted on one side - resulting in slightly limp/ soggy toast.
Had roast duck to follow, I was asked how I would like it cooked, I asked for it to be medium rare and when it was delivered it was tough and well done. It was served with a quinoa super salad which was full of nuts, berries and coriander quite tasty but that was it - sadly this was the highlight of the meal
None of this was worth the city centre prices. Great cocktails though.

A few of us had the Chicken and Chorzio meal and the sauce was delicious 😋 Priced just about right too so well worth a visit here and I will definatley be returning. Thank you for a lovely lunch

Ordered the halloumi sticks. Tasty but literally only 4 pieces arrived. Expected a bit more. Girlfriend ordered chilli Prawns. Decent size and taste.
For main course we ordered traditional Irish stew and haddock. All really good and tasty, big portions of food.
The desserts were the least favourite things. The chocolate fondant didn't taste that good. The hearth of it wasn't as runny as you would want. The apple crumble had the apples really hard.
Overall satisfied with the dining experience.
Spent 60 pound for 2, with a glass of wine ordered and 2 beers.

Great portions and I highly recommend the chicken and mushroom soup! Great atmosphere too with lots of christmas lunches taking place! We were so impressed with food and service, especially from a waiter called Nathan, that we had breakfast next morning which was simply first class! Highly recommend for food, service and atmosphere 😊

M.Absolutely top notch. The sizzling blackened Louisiana sirloin steak was amazing. It is difficult to see how it could be improved. The prices are acceptable. The staff is friendly and helpful, though a bit slow to react at times. Can be a bit loud, but well worth it with the standard of everything. My annoying sister got the chicken and giant cous cous which she found was not to her taste and their response was super professional, they went and got her a new meal and made sure that she was happy with it. I wasn't drinking due to driving but they had a good selection of drinks, particularly gin options and cocktails. Would recommend.

G. S.Went here for a graduation meal from a recommendation my brother, who had got a recommendation from a friend. Being fair, I didn't know what to expect.
We arrived to the resteraunt my first impressions from the outside where not great. The resteraunt didn't have any real class about it from the outside, they also had table and chairs outside the resteraunt, they where all out of place, turned upside down, on there side and and just didn't give a great impression of what was to come.
We went in where eventually greeted by a nice hostess. She asked if we wanted to go to our table or take a seat at the lounge/bad. We wanted to wait on some other family memebers to arrive, so we waited and had a drink at the resteraunt bar. Firstly they don't serve any draft beers. But on my 3rd attempt of drink choice I eventually settled for a bottle of Sol (as they didn't have Corona)
We eventually got seated in a nice little booth area to the side of resteraunt with plenty of space and where giving our menus. The menus looked good and had some good options.
I ordered a starters, main and dessert. The starter I got was breaded mushrooms, these where just ok. They tasted quite bland and the didn't really give much taste ( No side salad garnish or dressing accompanying the breaded mushrooms, just a small cup of garlic mayo ), the mushrooms where also very small and didn't really have much substance.
I ordered a 10 ounce sirloin steak for my main. I ordered this cooked medium/well, with pepper sauce and side order of chips (The chips consisted of a really small bowl of chips which didn't even full the bowl, which made it look very bare and i felt really left short) The steak itself also was just ok, and was really not much to shout about. It had good taste, but it was a tad more on the rare side of medium, but I didn't want to fuss by sending it back as it would disrupt my meal.
But i noticed straight away when cutting the meat, that it was quite tough and chewy and had a quite a bit of fat on left it, it honestly didn't impress to be perfectly honest. Thankfully the dessert was better as it was simple and tasty and their a good selection to choose from. But as the same time, just from a presentation point of view it didn't resteraunt like.
I felt over all the meal was just very standard and there was no wow factor at all from the meal. Even felt down to the cutlery eg plates etc used, where not very resteraunt like as they looked very dated looking and something you may see it a home kitchen more so. In regards to the meal I experienced I wouldn't be rushing back.
The resteraunt is located directly beside a Travel Lodge Hotel, so it may just suit the simplicity of food for that type of establishment.
But overall the staff where friendly and attentive couldn't be faulted.

l. w.We stayed at the travel lodge which is attached to Actons. They provide the breakfast for the travel lodge. We were greeted by a friendly and happy to help young man called Nathan.there was plenty of choice for breakfast and they provide a cooked breakfast for a few pound more. Nathan couldn't do enough for us. They also have a gluten free range and are very knowledgeable. Nathan also got the chef to warm the gluten free buns on the second day. Absolutely brilliant service. Actons should be proud to have Nathan working for them. Thank you for making our stay a great one to remember.
