C. J.Our table of five had a smashing lunch at Blu yesterday (10/09/21). We had booked in advance, although for a Friday it wasn't particularly busy. Two had sizzling chicken stir fry, two had burgers and one had fish and chips, all pronounced them delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was also particularly good, made (as it should be) with dates, soft and moist, came with ice-cream, toffee sauce in a little jug and coulis, and a few fresh berries - scrummy! The staff wore masks and were very pleasant and helpful. Not too expensive by usual standards - we ended up paying under £25 a head for two courses and a few drinks.
We would be happy to go back, and to recommend to others.
One observation: when the bill came, a 10% service charge had been added to it; we paid as we were billed. Had the tip been left to our discretion, however, they would probably have fared better out of it.
W. C.Lovely food, great service, decor is a bit weird, like some 80's throwback, but I was there for the food and that was definitely worth it. The rump steak was cooked perfectly, lovely peppercorn sauce and skin on fries, definitely recommend.

The decor may be unconventional but don’t be deceived, this is one of Belfast’s best kept secrets. The food is reasonably priced and excellently prepared. The service was friendly and efficient.
Would absolutely recommend to both locals and visitors alike.

The starter took a while to come out but when it did, it was really fresh and tasted amazing, the main was no disappointment either. James, our server, was very accommodating and pleasant. We'd wanted to go here for a while and we're glad we did. Definitely be back.

Excellent. The coffee that came with dessert was really good. Usually restaurant coffee in the UK is awful unless you pay to upgrade, this was really good. We actually stayed longer then planned just to savor the coffee.

Bill was £40 per head for 2 courses and drinks. I really wish Belfast restaurants would reduce their drinks prices. Their restaurants would be much busier if they did.
A. W.We came across this restaurant on Trip Advisor and thought we'd give it a try. The decor may not be to everyone's taste but it's worth seeing past that to the excellent food and great service. It's rare that we don't have dessert but after a huge portion of mussels to start and then the most perfectly cooked lamb rump we were beaten. Definitely recommended.

When we came prior to dinner for cocktails, it was a bit awkward not being offered a cocktail menu for at least 15-20 mins but being seated for cocktails upfront. They also didn't seem to know straight away what the cocktail of the month was, which was on offer. However the cocktails did not disappoint. Was worth the wait for sure. When it got to dinner, we warmed up to the place more and were offered their specials of the day. We went for the 3 course meal for about 19£, which is a pretty sweet deal. Food also did not disappoint, massive starter and main portions. Dessert was also fantastic! Overall wonderfully cooked food and they were sweet to accommodate us to surprise our birthday guest with a sparkler on his cake dessert! Will visit again

F. W.Truly one of my most unexpected favorites in Belfast. Quirky disco-inspired decor aside, the service is warm and welcoming, the prices quite fair, and the food spectacular. We got the two course dinner for £17 and added on a bottle of Shiraz for just £10 more. I loved my leg of lamb with rich rosemary-wine sauce but couldn't finish it, so large. My spouse loved the rump steak with black peppercorn sauce.

Service was slow to start at 530 had to wait 10 mins just for a menu and not asked about drinks. James was amazing once he started and service was great. Only other Downside was that the service charge was shown as compulsory even though it was optional once asked. Great place and great food.

B. C.Arrived to Blu 24/10/19 1 hour late and very embarrassed about same but situ admirably dealt with by Michael who remained attentive and engaging all evening. Despite operating the restaurant floor alone, all diners were effectively looked after and he even managed to order taxis. Food was in a master class and the presentation totally unique. Black / white and gold decor equally refreshing and all added to a relaxing and pleasant experience. Treat yourself and enjoy, don't let the name define the restaurant, it is everything but Blu. Reasonable price, food and presentation is exceptional.
The waiter there jame could not do enough, greeted us with a big smile and ensured that we were happy with everything. Nothing was too much. I cannot recommend this place enough.
