I casually passed this place while exploring Belfast. What initially caught my eye was the simple menu. I took note and made this the place I wanted to come back and get dinner. Upon arrival I was immediately seated and handed a card that had the menu printed on it. I ordered a glass of wine and anxiously awaited my cheeseburger and shoestring fries. To my left of where I was seated you could see the burgers sizzling away. My burger upon arrival to my table was cooked to perfection. My fries were hot and crispy. My first bite I was in complete bliss! The simplicity of everything but grand flavors of everything. This place is located parallel to a few pubs and is open to 930p. I highly recommend if in the area, very delicious! Cheers!

This is my second time here, I liked the idea of small menu and focusing on one thing. The fries were great and the burger as well. The only thing that I didn’t like is too much salt with the first bite I felt like I’m diving in the ocean 😂 🌊🧂

Food. The beef patties are top quality. Hand made I think. I would have preferred more seasoning on then. Good quality soft buns. Unfortunately it was all quite oily. Chips were high quality. But eat them quickly. They don't travel well. But the burgers do. Had one the next day (don't judge me) it tasted just as good after warming. Staff. Super friendly, it is Ireland after all. Place. Was nice and clean. I prefer honest burgers in England but this is a good shout.

Modern burger restaurant with minimalist theme and menu. Food is unbelievably good, easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. Milkshakes are also excellent. Gutted I can't visit regularly, but would seriously consider coming back to Belfast just for another burger.

it was busy on arrival, had to leave contact details and await a message that table was available, so after about 10 to 15 minutes hot message and returned. Menu is limited to 4 meat burger options and 3 fries options, but based on our experience the food was really delicious, and the fries were great. When orders were taken we were asked how we wanted the burgers cooked. We didn't have any alcohol with our meal but there are drinks available. was also nice and filling

Probably the best double cheeseburger I've ever had! Casual, relaxed atmosphere and very relaxed pricing. Be prepared to get your fingers messy as no cutlery but plenty of napkins provided! Would recommend.

This burger bar is very simple. You can order burgers with or without cheese and either single or double. There are very few selections available. They don't put ice in drinks nor limes in the Corona. This is not vegetarian friendly.

Their main menu is super simple! They only have hamburger or cheeseburger. The service staff will ask you how you want your beef pattie to be cooked - medium, medium well, etc...They also have 3 type of fries! And I had to try their milk shake - 👍👍👍. Overall, the meal is very enjoyable. my burger was cooked to my liking. The bun is soft and the milkshake is one of the better ones I ever had - not too sweet. The place is not like any fast food joint but a restaurant setting!

If you like burgers then this is the place for you (because thats all they sell). Burgers are made to your preference and service was very quick. Hand cut chips were good and you get a decent portion. Cheese burgers are fairly greasy so makes the double very messy to eat but lots of napkins supplied (probably for that reason). Decent price so would go back.

Really juicy and satisfying burger! Frankly, I was a bit shocked when the staff told me those little card on the table was also their “menu”- there is only one kind of patty with cheese which you can customized what vegs you wanna put into your burger. There wasn’t much option( or even no option for vegetarian lol), but the burger was sooooo delicious! The reason why I gave four star was because they started cleaning the floor before we left. I could understand which means they were about to close soon, but just for one instant, I felt like I was dining in Mcdonald.

Came here for a quick lunch as I was only in Belfast for the day. The staff were amazing and very helpful, and the food came really quickly. Very simple menu on a business card. I got a double hamburger cooked medium - one patty came out medium and the other medium well done. Patties were juicy but lacked taste. The meal was filling but next time I'd probably order a regular hamburger as the patties are large and a double hamburger was messy to eat. Not the best burger I've had but it sets a high standard. ***Lockdown vist*** Very Basic menu... We visited Bunsen Burger and chose the standard cheese burger medium rare with hand cooked fries (as I always do when visiting a burger restaurant the first time). It was a good burger but nothing special... Great fries tho!

Stunningly good food, it was recommended to us and now I'm recommending it to you!! And I can't recommend it enough! It's the most simple menu I've ever seen but amongst the most tasty food I've ever had too. The area where it is, is what's known as "The Cathedral Quarter" and it's a really lovely area of the city to visit with lots of lovely restaurants and bars, many with places to sit outside too. But definitely try out Bunsen before the others, I wish we had one near to us on the mainland I'd be there on a regular basis. . . So perhaps better for my waistline that there isn't!

My expectations for the burger on offer at Bunsen were high. The reputation and excellent marketing, when they gave away free meals to the people of Belfast when they first opened, got to me. I have seen Bunsen mentioned in articles about the best burger in Dublin. But when it came to tasting the burger itself, I was completely underwhelmed. Things didn't start well as my friend and I ordered double cheeseburgers with all the toppings available. They arrived with no cheese. This wasn't a deal breaker but it was the most basic of requests - there are only two options on the menu. So it was a bit of a surprise. The bun was quite strange - top half was perfect. The bottom however was rock solid to the point I actually wondered was it stale. My friend's was exactly the same so I assume they are supposed to be like that. After the first bite, the bottom broke into pieces, meaning the innards of the burger fell out everywhere. The toppings on the burgers are limited to lettuce, tomato, pickle, mustard and one other item I can't remember. I asked for all on mine - but they are average. Nothing that couldn't be assembled at home. And then to the star of the show the patties themselves. I asked mine to be cooked medium rare and this was done to perfection. But the meat was bland and not seasoned particularly well. I have had homemade burgers in the house that haven't been too dissimilar. When I go to a burger joint, with a very limited menu, I except the burgers to be exceptional. They were not. Sides were great - hand-cut and shoestring fries hit the spot. Drink offerings were lacking - no beers and a few soft drinks. Milkshakes a welcome addition but we didn't sample on this occasion. What I will say is I found pricing very reasonable. Two double burgers, sides and drinks for c £25 I found acceptable. I wouldn't want to be paying more for a burger (cc Five Guys). Overall I was disappointed with Bunsen. In the interest of science I will definitely give it another go but there are better burgers out there in Belfast.

Very nice place. Rustic modern vibe in the place. Burgers and chips with no thrills. Actual burger tasted very similar to Eddie Rockets. Staff were very nice and prices are quite affordable. All in all worth a visit, it's basically Five Guys but more of sit down set up.

Simple, fast, brilliant. They also offer beer and wine. The staff are friendly and fast, the burgers are amazing, perfectly cooked and in a bun that can handle the juiciness. It comes with thick cut pickles and tomato, diced onions and a mix of sauces. Shoestring fries are tasty but could be a little crispier. Decor is simple but fits the ethos. No veggie options as should be expected.

Had such a great experience last week. Went with a friend and the place is so pleasant and clean. The burgers were great. The girl serving us was quite professional and nice, too bad I don't remember her name. They did bring the wrong order for my friend but as she noticed and said, they brought the right one not long after. So, no complaints honestly, will be going back.

Best burgers I've had so far. The whole menu is very simple but just enough for multiple visits (4 types of burgers, 3 types of fries, toppings of choice) . They have a reasonable choice of drinks soft/beer so this angle is also covered well Where the show really kicks in is the staff. I have met a lot of people in many pubs here and there but the people running this place are awesome. Their smile and care is something you come back to. If I will ever be to Belfast again I am going to eat there again for sure PS: we made 3 visits in total during our stay and all of them were excellent so that's why I am so impressed 😁

While the meat quality was excellent, mine wasn't cooked how I asked it (asked for medium and got well-done), although I've heard that they usually get it right.

Absolutely fantastic burgers. Not really a burger person (I'd love a chicken burger option), staff are incredibly friendly, quick service, love the text service when your table is ready! Even though it was busy we were seated as soon as another table stood up so had great timing. Water was quick to be placed on the table and order taken swiftly after. Also guy in door was gorgeous as was the big muscly guy who set the food on the table! Would highly recomend to any burger lovers and will be back again.

If you are in the mood for a tasty simple burger, Bunsen's has it right. Simple is definately the word, you can only get a hamburger, cheese burger or double versions of both, but they are cooked to taste and it's a lovely mix of meat. Cannot fault these tasty burgers. If you're hesitant, you can have a cheeseburger and fries for under £10, for the quality it is great! Update: Been getting burgers in Belfast for years. Bunsen is the best burger in Belfast

We arrived looking for a table of 7 on a bust Saturday evening. Was told it would be a 40 min wait, which our party was more than happy to agreed to. Visited here as part of my stag. Very simple menu, food was fantastic, if not a little messy, but hey it is a burger! Double cheeseburger left me a little sleepy. First time visiting Bunsen and was certainly impressed by the food and quirkiness of the restaurant. This was by far the best burger I have ever tasted accompanied with sweet potato fries, portions are huge, so fries could be shared. We were looked after by Jordan who was excellent at her job and nothing was a bother to her. Friendly staff, quick service and a delicious burger cooked to your liking with variety of toppings available. Most places don’t give you the option so I went for medium as I like my steaks this way. Probably the best burger I’ve had in Belfast. The selection of fries are great also, I went for hand cut. Food is great, with the burger being among the best I've had in Belfast, and one of the only places I've been in town that asks your preference for how you'd like it cooked. As someone that likes it Medium-Well but is almost never offered it this is a very welcome perk of the restaurant. Fries are cooked exactly how I like them too, a bit on the crunchy side but not so much that I'd say they're overcooked. All that combined with friendly and accomodating staff and fast service makes this a fantastic spot.

Friendly service, plenty of room and a delicious, simple menu. I'd enjoyed my Bunsen experience in Dublin, so when they finally came up to Belfast, I didn't think twice about stopping by. They do proper burgers here (no coaster-in-a-bap nonsense!) and you can choose how well-done your burger is. If you can find the room (and there's no shame in admitting defeat - they feed you well), I recommend the vanilla milkshake too.

My husband ordered the double burger and I ordered the normal sized burger and when his came I was raging I didn't order the double because mine looked tiny but I was stuffed by the time we'd finished! We had the kids with us and they don't have a kids menu but they just halved the burger for them and they loved it. They even had a dairy free option for the burger bap. The young fella that served us was very chatty and helpful. He says he eats a burger every day he works there and he was stick thin so they must be good 😉

We went here last night before going to the George Ezra concert. The queue was out the door. The friendly guy took our mobile number and said if we wanted to go for a drink and he would text us approx 20minutes when the table was ready. We went to the amazing Thirsty Goat and 20minutes later we got the text. Amazing idea. The menu is simple. You have 4 choices of burger and fries. I had the cheeseburger and skinny fries my husband had the double cheeseburger and fries. 1 beer 1 tumbler of Malbec. Yes tumbler. Amazing food they even ask how you would like your burger cooked. It comes with lettuce pickle mustard and mayo. AMAZING. There were 4 floor staff and the place is not small yet the service was excellent. Amazing place in the middle of belfast. Can't wait to go back. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Their menu (squeezed onto a business card) offers four burgers : burger, cheese burger, double burger and double cheese burger. You can also choose from a small selection of fries (shoestring, regular or sweet potato).
