Lovely shop with lots of interesting foods. We went in for one gift and cane our with 6 our 7 different things. Beautiful pasta, local jams, sweets and treats and more.
Really nice selection of charcuterie.
We'll call again soon I hope.
J. N.
Amazing experience, great food and service, lovely vibe. The food is next level and really affordable. You must stop here! Belfast Alligator ciabatta is huuuuge and so nice.
B. M.
Selection here is great. All sorts of deli items and world foods. Can be a tad expensive. Freshly made lunches are just amazing but you'd better be starving as the portions are massive.
S. R.
Some of the best food to be found in Belfast, with the added bonus of a deli selling all manner of beautiful food stuffs. The sandwiches are fantastic and satisfying. The various sharing platters are incredibly good value. This gem is well worth seeking out for lunch.
J. G.
The selection of salads and toasted sandwiches are hard to beat in Belfast. Top quality ingredients and fairly priced. I'm still to try a lot of what the shop has to offer but certainly lives up to its name.
C. F.
Amazing range of products...from Irish to Italian...I fall short...great place...you can find so many things in here...highly recommend 👌
D. S.
Wonderful delicatessen and range of fine foods. Good for a lunch that's a step up from a sandwich bar, but not an onerous fancy sit down restaurant. Nice middle ground.
J. M.
It is always a pleasure to roam into Sawers and see what unusual food wonders they have. Kieran is always there ready to offer advice on some great cheese or the worlds best olive oil. Sandwiches and salads are amazing and this shop has the biggest and best range of kombucha I have ever seen. Well.worth a visit if you are a foodie and looking something out of the ordinary.
R. M.
The sandwiches and traybakes here are unbelievable and great value. The Belfast Alligator (sandwich) is my top recommendation. This shop is also great for purchasing harder to find and higher quality ingredients, although at a higher price.
S. G.
Absolutely fabulous shop. I wish I had more pennies to buy everything. Young chap at cheese counter was outstanding. Think he may have been owners son.
A. N. A. T.
Great lunch spot or to pick up some snacks. Best cheese selection in Belfast and they do cheese wedding towers!
P.
Excellent, very diverse range. Food is fresh and flavorful. Very glad this Belfast gem is still around
B. S.
We stopped here two times for coffee and snacks. Prices are more than ok, and the food is very tasty. We paid and choose inside and got brought everything outside.
Very nice and comfortable seating area infront of the store.
N. F.
Great. Such a hidden gem. Staff are really helpful and nice. The food is amazing. I'm going to make it a place I take friends visiting Belfast.
P. D.
A food lovers paradise ! Yes, they have added in some seating but the range of products that you just cannot find anywhere else is truly exceptional. Meats, cheeses, pastas, teas, spreads...I could go on and on. The deli is the best on the island of Ireland...
S. P.
Ordered cheese and wine hamper for a birthday present which was loved. Great customer service
R. T.
Wonderful experience, small shop but a vast choice. A real Aladdin's Cave. Great take away selection of sandwiches and filled rolls. Call in the next time you're in Belfast, you won't be disappointed.
S. F.
Been going here regularly for lunches for years and have never been disappointed. Great selection for the more adventurous eaters too. As a deaf customer I also find the staff to be a delight to interact with, very easy to understand and they go out of their way to make sure I can lip read them. Great place and well worth a visit either for lunch (although it can be busy!) or for some hard to get foods.
M. V. B.
Very wide choice, nice staff, wide cold cuts selection and cheeses, good pasta (Rummo is an excellent quality).Wide olive oil options.Must say was a bit disappointed by a lots of products missing the price label. The cold cuts I have been choosing was already packed Levoni parma ham as the one on the counter was at the end(so it should be on offer as the oxidation lowers the quality and give a bit of that metallic taste) the new parma ham peace I was asking for, could not be cut properly...(don't know why but this is what I was told). This shopping was about 70£ (the parma ham was already eaten so it's not in the pic. ) and I don't cosider it too expensive for the tipe of imported goods.
The Grana Padano I have been given was defenetly not aged enough and had a quite different flavour from what is supposed to taste and smell, if I choose a dely is to have a better option than M&S or Woolworths.
Very good pesto at the counter.
I am italian, born and raised in Italy, resident in London and just came here in Belfast for a while to work, so I defenetly know whether an italian product is worted or not.
The recipt states only "grocery", would be helpful to know how much have i paid for each product.
Summary: good for packed products, for the cold cuts counter I will be back again and see if the first time was just bad luck.
R. J.
Every time I work away in Belfast, I go here to get a cheese selection and a few other things and it amazes me every time. Staff are friendly and very helpful
M. A. R.
We really enjoyed it.
Has a verity of tasty local and international food.
L. B.
Fabulous even better than I remembered. Haven't been since before lockdown. Fabulous cheeses and very knowledgeable staff
C. M.
If you love a wrap, sour dough baguette, ciabattini, flatbread melt or bagel this is the place to go. Sit outside and watch the world go by and then investigate the deli inside.
C. S.
Awesome foodie shop, amazing range of products and a wee cafe inside as we as some seating outside. Absolutely recommend spending some time here
J. K.
Amazing deli that sells everything from tea and coffee to interesting oils pickles and vegan fudge. They have an outside and inside eating area and do fab food to takeaway as well. My only negative comment is that it's jam-packed with stuff and difficult to manoeuvre around when there's too many shoppers! 🙃
S.
A plethora of foods from all over the world.
High quality food and a massive selection of cheese, bakes, meats and teas etc.
Reasonable prices for stuff you can get anywhere else.
J. A.
Love this place great deli and very tasty food.
C. P.
What a fantastic store. If you need any ingredients they have them. Beautiful store.
S. T.
Best sandwich in town
b. c.
A cornucopia of Deli Delights. It wasn't difficult to find Sawers, it seems everyone knows where it is! It's a must visit for the foodie (or just the hungry) when in Belfast. Kieran served us up a quesadilla with all the trimmings, chilled wine, cannoli (my first ever!) and the best coffee. A foodies paradise - don't miss it.
K. E.
Wow, first time in Sawyer's, what a fabulous shop. Will definitely visit again when we're in Belfast
d. r.
A fantastic selection of foods for all occasions, including ingredients for any budding chefs.
K. A.
Wonderful deli offering every food treat you could imagine & many more you may not even have heard of! Great lunchtime sandwiches too which can be eaten on the small terrace.
N. S.
A very large selection of canned goods, unfamiliar and new things, but the prices are high compared to the prices in the supermarket
D. M.
This was my first time in the store. I was picking up a hamper for a Christmas present so didn't have time to walk round the store but I will most definitely be back as the products looked amazing! Mind you when I was there I could not resist buying some of the tray bakes which were massive & gorgeous!! The hamper was also beautiful, presented really well & value for money as a surprise Christmas present. The staff were friendly & really helpful as well.
M.
Found this gem when walking around Belfast on a day visit. After exploring all the nooks and crannies I spotted some tinned Marzano tomatoes. “Hard to find in supermarkets “
While I was there we decided to have some lunch,a Ham and Brie melt which was big enough to share and served at the outside tables. Whilst waiting to order the staff were very friendly to customers explaining all there produce on display. Will call again next time in town . I found Sawers Ltd a breath of fresh air in a world of self service please don’t change.
N. O. C.
Excellent spot. Great food. Don't miss it!
S. B.
Great deli/ cafe. Absolutely fantastic range in their shop and deli. So much to choose from its hard to decide. Great variety of ready made foods. Had a delicious lunch there and sat outside at tables which was nice. Lovely coffee. A little pricey but well worth it. Highly recommended. Great location as near the shops which was ideal.
C. B.
It was at least a month ago now, but what took me to the fair at the time was overhearing a little boy referring to it as the Santa Shop. Suffice to say, out of the mouths of babes and all that. It's a Santa Shop to me, because all of the items are wonderful and it took me at least half an hour from going into Sawers to get myself into gear and haul myself to the till after some serious browsing. I had planned to get a few bits, but about £35 later, let's be honest, I was sold. Again. No complaints. Can't wait to return 😊
D.
Sawers sharing plates and boards are 💯 winners. Plenty of food for 2 sharing one plate unless your starving. We ordered the Irish Cheese board and a Spanish plate both served with a free glass of wine and served by Kieran Sawer himself.
We took the remaining cheeses home to eat later. Lots of other choices to choose from and if you don't like something, staff are happy to suggest alternatives.
Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professionally mannered and presented. Made for a great first experience. Highly recommended.
F. S.
Wow!
We ordered over one hundred hampers and we received, not only beautifully-packaged gorgeous food, promptly delivered, we also received fantastic customer-service. Kieran and his family and his whole team were very professional, efficient and great fun to work with.
The hampers’ recipients were thrilled!
Gorgeous selection of unusual delicacies: highly-recommended!
Thank you so much to all at Sawers!
n. W. W.
Amazing selection of foods from around the world .Wide selection of daily fresh meals tongo and amazing deli counter ....sure ya couldn't walk past it.
a. h.
Impressive shop, sawers reflect all the cuisines of the world, smart selection of products... The fresh food is a delight... Not too pricy...
S. M.
Great choice and good customer service
C. K.
Great place to shop for that wee treat. Great advice from staff and selection of pate and cheese is fab. Got a five star for my contribution to Christmas Dinner. Major brownie points. Thanks Sawers team. 👍
M. G.
This is my favourite shop of all time, it is full of high quality produce from around the world as well as Irish produce. There are cheeses, meats, teas, coffees, oils, sauces, herbs, spices, you name it they'll have it. You can sit inside or outside and order food from an amazing menu. Their pasta salads, lasagne and a selection of enormous sandwiches like The Reuben, Belfast Belly Buster to name a few. They have an American section, Italian, Asian like Indian, Chinese, Japanese. You would expect it to be expensive but if your going to use what you've bought it is reasonably priced especially when you can't get these products anywhere else. The staff are friendly and approachable and will go out of they're way to help you. I can never walk passed Sawers without going in and you'll always find something that you hadn't noticed before. Go check it out you won't be disappointed.
C. v. N.
Wow. If you are ever in Belfast male the time to go to this shop. It is very interesting with so many lovely things. The cheese and neat section could have kept me there most of the day. It is on the more expensive side but still worth it. They have a small coffee shop where you can get warm and cold food and everything that came out looked amazing. Great coffee!
m. y.
Fantastic selection. Love the selection of cheeses, meats and chutney. Definitely a great place to get all sorts of ingredients from around the world. Highly recommend.
S.
Love it! Excellent selection of things from all around the world. Love the German Pfeffernusse biscuits. Great selection of teas and coffees. Been really enjoying the cafe part since it opened, lovely for a fresh wrap and a coffee or glass of wine. Unfortunately, with the front door open, and beside the fridges it can can a bit too nippy to stay long though! All in all, pricey, but very good delicatessen.
J. H.
Great place to pick up different odds and ends. Great selection of teas, coffees, meats, cheeses, preserves and snacks. Some things are a bit expensive but the staff are friendly and very helpful. The deli is excellent for a quick lunch. Good old "doorstep" sized portions, lots of flavour and well priced. Provides sit in or take away.
C. B.
Great place for lunch. Amazing sandwiches! If you wanna buy something off the shelves though.... Be prepared to pay extortionate prices that you could get cheaper in just about any other shop
M. S.
Crackling shop. Has everything. Tried everywhere for Ballymaloe beetroot and the only place had it was Sawers. Brilliant variety of everything.
P. M.
Food glorious food, I cannot eat most of it but It has a great selection. More useful for me is the large range of beverages from local teas to fancy fruit tea and coffees. I try to avoid the large selection of tasty morsels but always leave with something, which I pay for but it is worth it. Staff are just on the right side of friendly and helpful without being pushy, recommended.
i.
I I've just return to cincinnati and I wanted to say I had a lovely sit down lunch last Friday, my waitress, think her name was Katie? Was an absolute delight. Brilliant selection of food and if I'm ever back in the home land I'll be back
G.
This shop has a fantastic selection of artisan products. We wanted a wine and cheese hamper for a Christmas gift. The extremely courteous and helpful staff said that they could make one up for us and it would be ready in an hour. My wife and I went off and explored the Christmas market and upon our return 1 hour later the most glorious hamper was ready and waiting for us. The gift went down very well with the recipients who thought it looked so good that they didn't want to open it.
M. C.
Good selection of food and ingredients that can be hard to find elsewhere.
Somewhat Disappointed that the recent Spurt of growth has somewhat ruined the appeal of the shop. Used to be small, cluttered and full of people very passionate and knowledgeable about the food and its origin, now they're hiring teenagers at minimum wage that have neither the desire or the knowledge to be as helpful.
L. B.
Busy at lunchtime but beautiful food. Go to the counter to choose and pay for your food and they bring it to you at a table. Fantastic range of specialist foods for sale. The best choice of Italian and Mexican ingredients I have found in Belfast. They also do gift hampers
B. C.
This place was a Mecca for anything you couldn't get elsewhere in a grocery store in Belfast. It's still good but they've removed lots of shelving to make acafe/seating area inside. It's still nice just not as good as it was.
A. M.
A Belfast institution. If there is anything that can't be found at your local supermarket, Sawer's most likely has it. It's a treasure trove of all things delectable both local and global, where meats, cheeses, fish, jam, tea, bread and sweets all overflow the shelves. Many a quest of mine for a specific ingredient to spice up mealtimes has finished here. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and always helpful. Great lunch deals as well, a fiver getting you a warm delicious sandwich and a drink. If you have any culinary interest, you owe it to yourself to visit.
m. b.
Absolutely amazing shop. The range of foods ob offer is amazing. The cheese counter is a joy to behold.
C. W.
When ever I'm in Belfast I always get lunch from the deli bar. Lots of selection and such good value.
S. B.
The most fantastic delicatessen ever. The best range by far. Items from every country. If you're looking for something exceptional, top quality, this is the only stop you need to make. Truly amazing.
A. T.
Amazing selection of stuff that you won't find anywhere else in NI. Lovely deli food and knowledgeable staff. Pricey though!
M. G.
Great food excellent prices for a city centre deli. definitely go back next time I am in Belfast.
K. M.
I went here recently while visiting Belfast and it is an amazing place to purchase local foods and drinks to take home with you if you’re visiting, but it seems equally popular among locals as well. They serve a range of platters ideal for sharing - wish I had time to stop off for one of those!
P. M. u. M.
Lovely family run deli right in the heart of Belfast city centre there may not be any of the original owners alive to see it thiving today but I'm sure they would be delighted how they have kept the sawers name alive for all these years I used to work with the present owner and he is a wonderful young man with a great passion for the job he has been placed in if you have never been in the store call in you will be warmly welcome and pleasantly surprised and the array of goods that are on sale not forgetting their Christmas hampers 🙂
A. W.
Thank you Sawers for our stunning Wedding Cannoli Cake and Wedding Cheese Cake. You were so professional and nothing was too much to ask. It was tricky to find a supplier in Northern Ireland that would fulfil our dream Italian wedding cake but you did it in style. Thank you, highly recommend!! Alice & Greg
D. H.
Amazing variety of deli food, sauces, relish, cheese, etc, etc. Some very friendly staff.
G. S.
Sawers is like an an Alladins cave for food lovers. Just walk in and be mesmerized! If they don't have it then nobody does. Be warned you could spend a fortune in there! The cheese counter alone is worth going in for and I could eat their roasted red pepper hummus by the bucket load! Do not visit Belfast without a visit to Sawers.
H. A.
What an Aladdin's cave. Found essential Thanksgiving goodies to keep my USA wife happy.
P. B.
Just adore Sawers!!! The choices & quality is second to none. A real breath of fresh air in a world of same old same old supermarkets.
J. M.
First Class for cranberry jelly.
C. C.
I like Sawers they have a wonderful selection of food, spices, cheeses and so on. But my main bug bear for want of a better expression is that I can find many of the same items and brands much cheaper elsewhere and it seems like a Sawers TAX!
Therefore 99 times out of 100 I buy what I need elsewhere.
D. T.
Wonderful grotto of food 😋
L. M.
I ordered a hamper for my dad's birthday and it arrived on time and it has a gorgeous selection of items and was wrapped beautifully! I am delighted with the great service.
A. S.
An incredible shopping experience, all sorts of goods from around the world stocked high in to the rafters.
An absolute must for any trip to Belfast!
C. F.
Sawers just screams indulgents to me with all my favourite treats. A food lovers dream. You can make up gorgeous food hampers for gifts that anyone would be more than happy to receive. Also have had a bite of lunch and a glass of wine here.. it's right up my street. X
E. S.
The cheeses! 🤤
The food quality is really great.
Ok, one must be patient, the service is often very slow, but it is worth the wait.
c. h.
Didn't visit but stopped for a coffee at the Cafe opposite. Looked to be an interesting place to visit and have a look around.
G. L.
Good range of world groceries, but the main issue with Sawers is that they hike the prices of products up significantly. I will only buy there when I don’t have the time to order online (i.e. I want a particular product for dinner that night). Most of their spicy products and hot sauces are from Hot Headz and Mex Grocer and are about double the price instore! The situation is even worse for products like the Santa Maria range of Mexican seasonings where they are about 3 to 4 times the supermarket price! Same goes for the Street Kitchen range. The prices are very off putting and the store would likely sell a lot more stock if they removed the premium pricing policy. They seem to think that locals are not savvy when it comes to world and premium groceries and don’t realise that everything is overpriced, but they perhaps don’t realise how much business they are losing by pushing their prices too high. When all is said and done though, it is still very handy when you know what you are looking for and need the product ASAP rather than waiting for it to be delivered. You pay a hefty premium for that convenience though...
P. M.
Some good finds but also some pricy finds. The cheese counter is excellent. My main issue is the lack of gluten free options available for lunch
R. R.
Great shopping..but awful area.
A. M. E.
Lots of lovely produce.
Staff seem stressed when I visited today
R. M.
An experience to behold. Sawers has an amazing selection of artisanal foods not found anywhere nearby. Although the shop is expensive it is worth it for the quality of produce they offer.
T.
Got my pumpkin puree probably the only place in Belfast stocking it, great selection of american gooxs x
J. C.
A must visit shop in Belfast, for tourists and locals.. the absolute best deli ever
P. W.

J. C.

R. C.
Have been going into Sawers since the mid 70s lots of really nice stuff but they do charge a considerable premium on some items.
However it's about the only decent deli/fancy for place for absolute miles around
D. M.
My favorite wee shop in Belfast. Great Deli sandwiches. Fantastic cheese counter. Food from all round the globe. A proper Belfast treasure.
M.
In a nutshell : The best delicatessen shop in Belfast. And you can now have take away or grab a bite and be seated with a cuppa
K. F.
Have been going to Sawers since childhood. I'm 60 now soooo pleased to see this lovely REAL Shop still there on my last visit home from London. Great quality.😊
E. M.
Best delicatessen in Ireland. Beautiful selection of product. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.
G. K.
Great food. Only problem a little chilly at seated area but this is due to the proximity of the food chillers. The quality of the food more often than makes up for this.
T. S.
Amazing selection of cheese served by friendly staff. Great to stop by for a mouthwatering sandwich and at the minute such a large variety of that special Christmas treat.
M. Y.
Probably the tastiest and best value takeaway lunch in town. The fifth star is missing because the queuing and ordering system can be confusing. Lovely food.
R. P.
An excellent, albeit often expensive, delicatessen with a wide range of food (both prepared on site and prepackaged), drink and ingredients which are seldom found in Northern Ireland.
C. D.
Great choice shame no pastrami
L. K.

Another unique place in Belfast. Makes Belfast what it is. Reminds me of the gourmet shops in Karaköy, Istanbul. Much variety.
