G. S.This is a really nice wee restaurant linked to the garden centre in Dundonald. I was there at breakfast time so I had the soda bread stack. It was nicely done and not greasy. Surroundings are nice and relaxing, and staff are all you could hope for. I will go back at some time for lunch. I did notice that there was a good gluten-free section on the menu.
A. L.The Secret Garden is a cute restaurant and nursery, where you can grab a nice tasty meal and then proceed to dander around the flowers in the nursery for a good while while you digest your food. The plants there are gorgeous and available for purchase! They also sell a lot of gardening and outdoor related products, including outdoor furniture. Overall a great place

G.Restaurant extremely busy 12.30 but the staff very nice and hot us to our table upstairs quickly...also has a lift which is great for elderly and disabled customers to use ..menu varied and prices acceptable. Toilets really clean. Gift shop and Garden plants area well stocked. A nice way to spend my birthday with family . Definitely will revisit soon.

W. P.Good location. Great food. Was suprised to see a garden nursery with such a good restaurant. Had the traditional christmas dinner and pavlova for dessert - 2 courses for £17. Very reasonable for the quality of the food. Also went for a wonder around he gift shop. Not much there for me but my partner liked it. I would highly recommend for food. Prices where also very reasonable. Staff where also very helpful. We didnt have to wait long. Only negative I can think of was the parking. I would imagine it would be difficult to find a space when busy.

C.The food in the cafe is really nice, decent quality. The Shop and Garden part is a good size and plenty to buy.
However, service in the cafe was awful. Very slow and inattentive hence only 3 stars. Berry Smoothie- not at all! More like a vanilla milkshake with no taste of berries. Asked for a fanta instead, which was brought to the table AFTER we had ate AND paid. No apology from the waitress which is rude.
Car parking is hectic.

c. h.We were there after a funeral as a booking. The waitress upstairs with us was quite abrupt on a number of occasions. The talk of the day was, "well that waitress had no tact at all". It's a shame because the rest of the staff were lovely, always around to top up our teas and coffees, plus the food was great. Good customer service should always be expected but when it's a funeral gathering a little sensitivity should be added in.
N. L.Lovely lunch. Eventually got to visit on a day off after hearing of multiple delights over many years from my wife. Not disappointed! Friendly efficient service & generous portions all well presented. Batter scampi was delightful with really large prawns in a lovely light crisp batter. Honey Chilli chicken great too (no, I didn't have both 😇 )

A. C.Another hidden gem this time in Dundonald Co Down. Myself and one of my best friends from school went for breakfast. It was absolutely lovely! A beautifully prepared Ulster Fry with great coffee served by lovely, warm, friendly staff!
The nursery its located in is superb and the shop is extremely well stock with gifts and clothes for all tastes at prices to suit everyone. I noted although I wasn't buying anything today that there were many clothing items discounted and really were very good quality and again a wide range (mostly womens fashion).
Now the garden shop had nothing short of an excellent range of gardening tools and implements including the Wolf Garden range which I rate very highly myself and will add to the few things I need from this place.
All in all I think The Secret Garden restaurant along with Dundonald Nurseries shop and garden centre really do without reservation,deserve five stars!

I had great pâté starter followed by salmon in a smooth, creamy sauce; vegan son had soup of the day & a delicious stiryfry. Generous portions which we followed with a relaxed coffee. The staff were all very friendly & efficient. The ongoing cleaning of tables & chairs reassuring. Pottering round the garden nursery was a nice addition & generous advice from nurseryman Malcolm welcome. The Secret Garden is a real find; I will be returning and highly recommend it.

N. M. (. M. B.Having received a gift voucher for The Secret Garden, we checked out the restaurant online and saw that it was open late on Thursdays and Saturdays. It had a cosy atmosphere and we were given a table by the window which gave us a nice view. Most of the guests were seniors although there were some family groups.
The staff were friendly and worked hard since the restaurant was eventually full. The service was great and the meals that we had were served with large portions and were very tasty. We would have no hesitation in returning or indeed buying a gift voucher for friends.

Stayed and had some lunch. I was stunned to find such a nice restaurant in such a place. Food, drinks and service 100% i would highly recommend this place.

Lunch was excellent and staff very friendly indeed. My friends and I usually try to visit garden centres and we have to agree this has been the best for value for money and not charge over the top.

F. N. G. P.What an oasis. Tucked away behind a nursery in a housing estate with a bonus gift shop added for your perusal. A quaint place, staff are very welcoming a rarity these days, was greeted with a smile like I mattered and they wanted me there, was shown upstairs and my word got a window seat and view was magnificent you could see Stormont in the distance, no white smoke though so they still not working, the company was fantastic the staff knowledgeable n the awkward eater, there is alway one was very much accommodated to their particular needs. Food excellent and the size of the pavlova, well let just say there was nothing left on the plate. A five star restaurant with staff to match, a must and well worth the travel. v. m.Lovely for a browse and lunch,I decided to get a lovely top only to find it was 30 %off in the sale. It was a lovely day and my friend and I hade lunch outside. There is a baby shop and a variety of things in the other,handbags,jewellery, clothes, tiles,vases and other various things. A nice day was had.

A.Called in for lunch and although we had a bit of a wait getting served, the meal was good. Great views over Belfast from upstairs and has a great gift shop downstairs. Parking is a bit of a problem as carpark is not very well laid out but other than that it is a nice place to go. I will be back to get some plants as well as lunch or I may even try the Afternoon Tea!

I was delighted with the fried goats cheese with orange and beetroot with roasted wall nuts. I would of went for a second plate of we weren't in a rush to get home. Plus if your a gardening fan like my other half, you can browse a wide range of things to plant and place around your garden or in-door. Would definitely recommend you go and have a nosey peeps.

I started with Pate and it was the best I have ever tasted and I am very fussy. For main course I had the beef and again it was 10/10 excellent. The staff were very professional and attentive.

L. S.Visited the secret garden dundonald with friends as they open thur and Saturday for evening meals with a wonderful menu in beautiful surroundings overlooking the countryside.
