Nice place, popped in for dessert and had a coffee and a tea. Both were nice. Also ordered a creme brulee and a chocolate fondant which were both lovely. Update-- I went back to Cafe Rouge just yesterday and ordered the creme brulee and chocolate fondant again and they were just as lovely. Also ordered a pot of tea to wash things down. Very nice place with a quaint atmosphere and accommodating staff.

Just happened to pop in for breakfast and everything was lovely, good atmosphere all the food was cooked perfectly with good portions and well priced. The highlight of the experience was our waitress Irina , she was funny and attentive and really made both mine and my friends day. ❤️

Outstanding customer service I normally wouldn’t start a review like that however it is the headline. They had been an incident so traffic was delayed so my wife rang ahead to say we might be a bit late it was a Friday evening when the heavens have just opened. Monsoon weather in the middle of summer. From the moment we got their you the staff was very pleasant and even delayed the closing so they could accommodate a few of the late comers on another table so if you’re ever in Birmingham I would highly recommend a visit

Hot chocolate x2 (£5.70) Verdict: Good food is at the heart of this cosy cafe, with an emphasis on creativity and flair, as well as a core focus on seasonal, locally sourced produce to deliver a personalised dining experience. Lovely spot for brunch due to its strategic location with a picturesque view and posh ambience. The eggs Benedict are genuinely worth a try as their Hollandaise sauce will send you to seventh heaven at first bite. An original Parisian bistro in the heart of Birmingham 🤤❤️

Absolutely outstanding customer care, by far the best I’ve received in a long time. Popped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, we hadn't booked a table and one was found within 5 mins. Food was fab, staff attentive. The only slight downside for me was how close the tables were, I felt like I was sat with the family next to me.

The food was pretty good. Had to wait 30 minutes before getting it though and it wasn't especially busy. The fries were pretty crunchy and done well but quantity-wise are a little on the small size The Angus Burger was the best part of the meal. The meat was cooked and spiced and well and the patty itself is a sizeable portion. Would have preferred more fries and a quicker serving time but overall can't complain.

Absolutely top class...... We arrived unannounced tonight 15 minutes before closing, after looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't "fast food". The service was brilliant and the food was delicious. The staff were outstanding, even going as far as to give us a bottle of water to take with us when they realised we had a 3 hr journey home. Absolutely love the place! The atmosphere is amazing, it really takes you away from the traditional Birmingham feel and there has been pleanty of times where I've felt as that I'm abroad somewhere (especially when you're sitting outside and it's raining heavy). The food is lovely and they always tend to do a deal for a meal which is a nice added bonus. Some people may consider it expensive; however, you pay for the atmosphere and customer service. The staff are more than friendly, they remember your face if you're a regular and I'm always greeted with a warm welcome that instantly puts a smile on my face. I'd definitely give it a go! They do get really busy which means having to wait a little extra times, definitely worth the wait, and if there's an issue (which is extremely unlikely), the staff are more than happy to help you out to satisfy your needs.

Dropped by only for dessert. Service was lovely. The dessert came at a reasonable time though it was very busy when we visited. The dressert was a hit and miss though. My Eton's Mess was amazing. The lemon sorbet was so-so. And the Chocolate Fondant (Fondant Aux Chocolats) was disappointing. The melting chocolate middle did not happen and it was just pretty much cake and ice cream. Unfortunate really given the high prices here. But my friend didn't want the hassle of returning it so we didn't bother.

Staff are very good 8 of us ate with wine for about 120. Foods much better than the other offerings in the area vertainly better than greasy cardboard at pizza hut or anaemic burgers in the usual suspects.

I have never been to this place before so it was a lovely change from other places and there was a special lunch menu on for £14:95 for two courses. It was lovely to be able to just turn up and get a table for two people without pre- booking . It was almost like the time before the pandemic and it was good to see so many people there, and also the fact a very nice waiter came to out table to serve us. A couple of things from the starter and desert menu were not available but it was about 13:30 pm when we arrived. We both had the minute steaks with fries and garlic butter and ice cream for afterwards. We also had a glass of Mimosa and a glass of water each. The steak was really tasty and we were able to have mayonnaise and tomato sauce with it. Even though we only had the steaks and frites with watercress , it was plenty to eat and having two scoops of ice cream was a lovely end to the meal and I thoroughly enjoyed it as we were made to feel welcome and weren't rushed to finish our meal. I would definitely go there again, the next time I visit Birmingham.

I have crossed this restaurant so many times now but never went in before today when my friend invited me. Because the food is not halal, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I discovered I could choose a variety of dishes that I could still eat! I will definitely look forward to visiting again soon! Missing a star as the chicken burger I ordered didn't have peppers in (as described on the menu) and I wasn't told about this. It was only when I questioned it the waiter went to the kitchen to find out that they had run out (which is completely understandable) but there was no attempt to make it right, like offering an alternative topping instead.

We had the afternoon tea for which the food was lovely. The portions of cakes felt a little on the small side though. The chocolate mousse in particular was a very small pot, and only one between two. When I asked about this, the waitress offered to get us another one, which I thought was very nice of her, and she brought back a larger portion. However, when we got the bill at the end, the extra mousse had been charged at full price! I challenged this, and so was not charged in the end (and they were nice about it, and felt like a genuine misunderstanding). Overall, an enjoyable meal, but could have done with bigger portions.

it would be a good experience overall as the waitress who served us was really nice and pleasant, and the food and mulled wine were excellent. Unfortunately, the British lady with long brown hair in a ponytail, who came to take our payment, came across as rude and not caring. We asked to split the bill, which was not a hard task to do since we only ordered four items. The lady would not hear us out carefully, she only said "let me know how you want to do this" and she stormed off!! The waitress with blonde hair and glasses, the same one who served us, came after a while to take our payment and her service was much better than the previous lady's! She did not have any problem with us and she paid attention to everything we said. She deserves a praise.

On our way to a theatre matinee yesterday, on a very busy day in Birmingham, we found one free table on the outside terrace. Despite being told by the very pleasant waitress that we may have to wait at least 15 minutes for our meal, in less than 10minutes we were served with our drinks and food. Everything was delicious, and although we complained about the frites not being what we ordered, an additional order of the correct chips were brought immediately. All the staff were pleasant, cheerful and efficient. All in all a very enjoyable experience, and we got to the theatre in good time!

Only problem was I booked online table for two on a special offer as it was a special occasion but they did not honour my booking and said I shouldn't of been allowed to book that offer as it was the wrong day of the week. But the fact is I did book it online and they did not honour the offers that was available for me to book. I would if I was going again not take the word for the website. When we was there we overheard a few others complaining about the same thing. It would of be nice to been offered something as a consolation but not even an apology.

I have been to 2-3 Cafe Rouge bistros before but I really enjoyed this visit. This is the one near Brindley Place and is close to Broad St, Sea Life Centre, the Symphony Hall, ICC and the old NIA. The food was really good which is always appreciated. They accept the discounts from the Meercats Meals offers which is excellent in these money conscious times. The service was excellent and the charm and likeability of the waiter made the night feel special. A really pleasant night .

We just had an hour to kill while waiting for a train at 9pm.. I had a craving for chips but we had 3 kids with us so were a bit worried about annoying others in the restsurant. We explained we just needed a table for a quick bite to eat. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We do no always get such a warm welcome in restsursnts when travelling late with children so were a bit tentative. My partner paid upfront for a coffee and chips with no tip. The staff treated us like we had paid a huge tip! I had to check with my partner if he really didn't tip?! They brought us paper and crayons for the kids... and then later hellium balloons! We will deffinitely go there for a family meal when we have more time! :)
