That was amazing ! Our first visit : novice chopstick using mum and daughter combo! Annabelle was fantastic! She made wonderful recommendations, the whole experience felt incredible, she added in extras for us to try and taste. She was so kind to my daughter and made us long to come back with the rest of the family ! The environment is just lovely .. we sat on the comfy woven cushions for an authentic experience. After eating our fill of their wondrous tasty sushi , they packaged our left overs but we were never rushed .. a real must do !

Very lovely food nice and fresh for the night. Nice and warmth atmosphere. Potentially one of the best Japanese restaurant in Midlands. Chef is certificated from Japan. Recommend to reserve table through online or phone, as it gets very busy and walk-in maybe disappointed. Highly recommended. 5*
A. V.
Visited Birmingham for a few days, this is by far one of the best sushi places I've been to in a long time. Enjoyed it so much I came back the next day with a +1. Definitely coming back here if I visit again.
L. 1.
Amazing food, amazing staff and a wonderful experience, told one of the waitress I was vegan and they gave me recommendations and even made me some special vegan friendly sushi. I absolutely loved it.
They even have tatami mats to enhance the experience further, along with music that perfectly fits the ambience of the place. Aesthetically places is perfect, and with it being smaller the staff are super kind and attentive I would highly recommend, best sushi experience I have ever had
N. C.
Sushi Passion serves fantastic, fresh sushi with lots of options, and has a wonderful atmosphere. Also very good customer service from Annabelle. This place lives up to the 'best sushi in Birmingham' claim for sure. I would strongly recommend!
A. C.
The best sushi I've had in the UK (and I've tried lots of it around the country). A big range of different combinations and flavours. Can't wait to come back to Birmingham to eat here again. Highly recommended.

Wow..... What can i say, I've never had a sit down sushi meal, it has always been a grab and go kind of lunch from a super market..... But wow i will never go back to the supermarket stuff Sushi Passion blew my mind last night well done Chef!

This place has its unique aura. The food looks like work of art and is delicious. The staff is helpful and kind always happy to help. If you are in Birmingham, visit that place you won't regret it.

Came here a few years ago, and quality hasn’t changed a bit. It’s still fantastic!
There’s a seated table area now as well as being able to sit on the floor with a lower table.
Service was fast and always making sure we were happy.
I had to call to change the number of our party as had someone cancel. Called Sushi Passion and they were able to make the changes accordingly. Really appreciate this thank you so much.
O. B.
The atmosphere was very nice and calming in the restaurant. The music playing really set the mood for my time there. The food was absolutely incredible and I’d recommend anyone to go there if they have the chance. What really stole the show was the Cherry Blossom tea I ordered, I don’t usually like tea, but it was incredible! The presentation of the food was charming and immaculate.

SO SO SO GOOD!
Service, quality of food, cleanliness just so excellent.
Tastes so fresh as well.
Good value for money!!
L. R.
The freshest and most tasty sushi I have ever tried. The atmosphere is personal and the customer service is top-notch. Fantastic place for an intimate date. Probably one of my favourite places to go out and eat. Thanks to Patricia for serving us especially tonight, it was a fairly busy night and she did an exceptional job.
J. G.
Absolutely loved this place. First visit, sat at the bar and watched them prepare my sushi, what skill! All the gosh wax there on display so you could see how fresh it was. The staff were super friendly. Not too costly and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend
A.
Lovely food. Friendly staff. Very quiet Wednesday lunch. A treat for two teenage grandchildren for the end of school holidays. We had the party sashimi set plus 2 extra miso soups which was just enough.
A.
Wonderful place, great food, amazing atmosphere and lovely people! Monica was very kind! Totally recommend
J. T.
I always recommend Sushi Passion to anyone visiting the city looking for the best of what Birmingham has to offer. I visited today for a quick lunch and again they didn’t disappoint - incredibly welcoming service, sensational food and a relaxing atmosphere. Perfect hour to escape the outside world and experience quality sushi. Already booked to come back!
C.
Came here for my girlfriends birthday. We had the best sushi either of us had ever eaten before! Tuna & salmon was amazing! Our server Patricia was very knowledgeable & pleasant. Will definitely be back for more.
F. A.
Went to Sushi Passion yesterday for lunch with my daughter, and am happy to say she never fails to choose a great place to eat!
The sushi we had, was one of the best ever!
Freshly made, great presentation and the service was awesome!!
Big shout out to lovely Monica who served us!!
Be back to see you soon!!!
H. C.
Great food, great service, always enjoyed our time here. The music playlist could do with a refresher though, the same track played over and over.
J. m.
We decided to try our luck and just do a walk in we were really lucky and we managed to get a table but we only had the table for an hour. The service was really good from the waitresses to chefs, the food was lovely and fresh and chefs produced the dishes super fast! Service was outstanding! Will definitely be back!
S. D.
My auntie and I had our fist experience at Sushi Passion and had such a welcoming warm experience. Our waitress was emilia, and she is a credit to the company, fantastic customer service and a real duty of care to the customer. Thanks for making out experience so great. The food was also top notch, I will definitely be back soon 😊
R. P.
I've been there regularly since I tried sushi. very friendly service and a large selection of dishes. Everyone can find somethink for him. Deffinitly best Sushi Restaurant in Birmingham 👌🍣
L. H.
We didn't book and they managed to squeeze us in to eat at the bar which Wraps around where the sushi is prepared. Really appreciate them accommodating us, very friendly staff, nice sushi, ambiance was good. It's small but pretty. If you can book in advance there's some cool seating where you can sit on cushions to eat, very cool!
L. J.
They even have tatami mats to enhance the experience further, along with music that perfectly fits the ambience of the place.
b. m.
I really love this place, I'll definitely come back here. I love the food and especially the blossom tea, it's so tasty. I recommend this place to sushi lovers!
P. B.
I was visiting Birmingham from London and wanted a healthy but delicious lunch. Sushi Passion hit the spot- delicious sushi made to order and served beautifully by Patricia, the waitress. Very friendly welcome- highly recommended.
S. U.
Customer service was awesome and the sushi was really delicious, i would recommend the tiger roll. Would definitely visit again. We also saved 20% off on take away orders, i order the tiger roll to go because it’s delicious. ✌️
D. S.
The portion sizes were amazing. Definitely worth the price. I ended up taking some in a box to go. The vibes are really nice and chilled and the music is really calming. The waitress was also very helpful ans accommodating. Would definitely recommend!!
A. P.
On a more expensive side, so don't come here often. But the sushi is absolutely delicious, one of the best in Birmingham. Lovely atmosphere, polite and friendly staff. Would recommend.
L. A.
I haven't had sushi in such a long time, really good, authentic and tasty sushi and wow, Sushi Passion delivered! The staff are so welcoming and friendly - the minute you walk through the door it's like you've been transported to another place! The lighting, the decor, the ambience - loved the comfortable floor seating! But by far, the jewel of the crown is the absolutely delicious food! Our platter of Uramaki with some sashimi was just delightful and I can't wait to go back! And the lychee sake to wash it down with was 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾❤
A. H.
We loved this place. We took a day trip to Birmingham and decided to get lunch here. We sat at the bar area and got to watch them make our sushi. The sushi did have a decent price but the portions were generous. Some of the best sushi we’ve had in England so far. Will be going back!
E. L.
Really lovely sushi. Beautifully fresh and wonderfully presented. It was busy but the food was incredible. We were there with our 12 and 9 year olds and they adored it. Will definitely go again.
L. B.
Nice atmosphere, delicious sushi and lovely staff. Love the low tables, gentle music and especially the tiger roll! Perfect quiet anniversary spot for us.
k. W.
We came for my sons 22nd birthday. Our waitress helped us with the menu and we had the party roll set and veggie roll set between five adults and it was gorgeous. Very full bellies and they gave us all free ice cream for our celebrations. The restaurant was very clean and safe. A great sushi experience- thanks for a great time
G. &. J. S.
Finally, outstanding sushi.
Maybe I was lucky but the rice was at the perfect temperature, and wow to the wasabi.
Would have liked a cider on the menu but will drive well out of my way to eat here again.
T.
My partner and I ate at Sushi Passion on a quiet Monday evening after a day in Birmingham.
By far the best sushi we've had. We've tried all the high street sushi places and none of them compare to this place. Fantastic service, simple digital menu with pictures (great for us sushi novices), and simply fantastic food. Recommended. Thank you! 🍣
B. R.
Fantastic meal. Not terribly priced for what it was, and the meal was very clean tasting for sushi. We had a full range of sashimi and the tuna was phenomenal. Booking systems are in place at this time, but we got lucky to get a spot and it was well recommended. We'll be coming back for sure
T. H.
The atmosphere was incredibly serene, the sushi was fantastic, and the staff were friendly and prompt. There is nothing I would criticise them for. I would highly recommend for sushi lovers!
k. W.
Lovely quaint atmosphere. The rolls were very well portioned and excellent quality. The wait staff were very pleasant and friendly…Leo in particular. Overall a great experience!
M. C.
Absolutely fabulous food! Always happy to come back for a sushi fix! Best sushi in Birmingham ❤️ all the love for the staff and chef Kamal
J. D.
Delicious, fresh sushi. Well presented with a great range, great service and relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely come back again.
H. F.
We stumbled across Sushi Passion by accident on a wet Wednesday while looking for something to eat. WOW. Easily the best sushi I’ve ever had, and I’m not exaggerating. I had the salmon set, which had the biggest, thickest slices of sashimi and a beautiful selection of rice based items. The miso soup was also delicious. I’ll be back when I’m next in the city - keep up the great work!
B. N.
Really authentic place and amazing sushi, so tasty!! Will definitely be coming back and would recommend anyone to come here and try the food!
A. C.
Booked a table here for my partners birthday. Such a lovely atmosphere, couldn't reccomend it enough. We were sat at the counter and got to see the sushi made before our eyes, we were enjoying what i can only describe as octopus cutting so much that the chef gave us a complimentary taste. Lovely staff, great food, if youre looking for some good sushi, come here. :)
E. P.
The place was immaculate and staff are extremely friendly, encouraging and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing loved every bit. Would definitely recommend it!
T. A.
I've waited a while to visit this restaurant.. It was worth the wait! The sushi was beautiful and I got to watch the chef prepare it for me as I sat up the counter. There was a relaxed ambience throughout the restaurant, with low lighting, calm music and so much Japanese art and culture. The staff were polite and welcoming plus lots of smiles! Really recommend trying this place out for a date or even a lunch pop in!
g.
Such an amazing experience!
One of the best sushi spots in Birmingham!
Annabelle provided such great service
Would definitely recommend!!!
K. A.
Great atmosphere, incredible/friendly staff and delicious sushi.
Even though I came in by myself, staff were very welcoming. They made conversation and let me pick where I wanted to be seated.
Will recommend to friends
S. S.
My first visit at sushi passion, really fab restaurant. Sat on floor was very authentic. Loved the rolls. Can’t wait to come back
A. R.
Amazing Sushi once again. Such friendly staff, happy to help you choose the right things. A small restaurant so gets busy quickly, advise booking to be sure you can get in. They have traditional low level seating to enhance your experience but be sure to request this when booking.
S. Q.
Beautiful food. Sometimes the waiters seem a little flustered which can take away from the relaxing and quiet atmosphere, which has been achieved quite impressively despite being in the heart of busy Brum.
K. P.
Amazing food with great service! The interior design adds to the whole experience along with the beautiful music playing in the background. Eating with an 11 month year old can be difficult, but it didn't stop us from indulging and enjoying the atmosphere.
Will be coming back for sure
M. W.
Great quality sushi! Will definitely come back again!
D. S.
Delicious sushi! We had the Dragon Set, and it was amazing. The service is also fabulous, and the ambient very cozy.
M. L.
Incredibly tasty food made with care and attention to detail. Very friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to go back!
F. Z.
Beautifully delicious sushi! Great drinks, lovely intimate settings. The customer service is great!
S. C.
Best sushi I’ve had! Well worth the money and really friendly helpful waitress. If I lived in Birmingham, I would be a regular!
R. K.
Fantastic as always. Great service, very friendly and welcoming. The best sushi in Birmingham, no question.
C.
Amazing sushi, such a beautiful place as well. Good options for vegetarian people c:
Got served by Patricia, who made us feel so comfortable and was so helpful ☺️
J. M.
It's perfect every single time. Delightful staff and unforgettable food. Worth every penny... In fact I'd pay more.
L. B.
Me and my boyfriend went for a lovely lunch on Valentine’s Day and I couldn’t recommend this place more, the tiger roll was amazing and our server Annabelle was so helpful and polite and made the experience even better!
Q. L.
Love this place! Great sushi, good quality and reasonably priced for the quality you get! My go to place for a sushi fix!
J. P. C.
The sushi was amazing, fresh and delicious, but above all I would highlight the customer service, our waitress Monica made us enjoy the immersive atmosphere of the place and gave us excellent menu recommendations.
A.
Amazing little place! Authentic and traditional Japanese style sushi bar. Amazing service from the ladies it was definitely exciting to watch the chefs rolling the sushi from behind the bar. Would definitely recommend and would visit again!
E. K.
I celebrated my PhD last night in this great restaurant. happy to tell that we enjoyed a delightful evening and the venue was undoubtedly the reason for that happy event. The waiters participated in a splendid manner, the cooking was extremely good and my friends were so delighted. We shall definitely come back again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.
C. M. (.
Very nice and authentic sushi. Highly recommend
i. P.
Great sushi ! Best I’ve ever had ! We were a bit late but staff was very nice and friendly. One of the chef or I should say sushi master gave us two extra pieces ! Six star !
E. W.
Excellent sashimi and sushi, we’ve ordered take-away several times and have also dined in - the food is always delicious and the service is friendly and inviting. Thank you for being a favourite go-to.
B. c.
The food and atmosphere are great. The restaurant is small so I would highly suggest booking a table ahead of time. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The sushi was very good, I enjoyed the soft crab roll.
Z. R.
Soooooo gooood! Nice touch to see it prepared in front of you when you sit on the high stools.. good Japanese ambience with the little table..
It's a little pricey, in my opinion but it's very good which makes kinda okay.
This dragon set, with a 300ml bottle of dry sake and 8 oz of diet coke came to £117.
M. “. S.
Amazing food the best sushi I've had all of birmingham! Very friendly staff. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes sushi
A. G.
Really good quality sushi and sashimi. Definitely a pricier restaurant compared to other sushi restaurants, but well worth the cost. Already looking forward to the next time I can go. Decor and ambience are very good, and there's a train going round the bar.
Y. j. w.
Small restaurant which serve big. Calm and cozy environment, lovely and kind staffs and boss. Fresh and delicious sashimi well served like a piece of art, right amount of rice in sushi (not like typically a lot of rice) with extra amount of meat. Sushi passion has large varieties of great sake and great umeshu. Don’t forget their ice creams are delicious too, I love their special yuzu & cherry ice cream and chocolate & wasabi ice cream, their matcha ice cream is great too. Brilliant, awesome, fantastic, delicious, and perfect. Would definitely visit every time I go Birmingham.
S.
Had such a good experience! The food was great quality and the service was amazing. I was a bit worried dining alone, but I was never overlooked and the waitresses were really attentive. Highly recommend
A. M.
Great sushi! Nice and fresh with a broad range! Definitely coming back for more! 😍
M.
Very creative and so so delicious! It’s quite expensive but the quality is really there! I was skeptical at first because the sushi chefs weren’t Asian (not that it matters but I do find that most non-Asian chefs tend to create fusion) but I must say they’ve done an outstanding job! I was truly impressed with how they executed their sushi. I also loved how cute it was when they served our miso soups via a toy train that stopped in front of us, it was fun! I highly recommend coming here, really worth the price.
F. A.
Some of the best sushi in Birmingham. I would definitely recommend sushi passion if you are a sushi lover and it's a great place to start if you're trying sushi for the first time!
I've been coming here for a few years and it doesn't disappoint. Every dish I've tried has been delicious and it's really nice to see the sushi being made in front of you (a nice change from the conveyor belt sushi places). You can tell the chef uses fresh ingredients and takes pride in their work. The restaurant location and atmosphere are great too with friendly staff and prompt service. It's a little bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.
r. h.
l am here with Doody habiby and he is laughing as I am writing this haha all l can say is the food the place the staff.. I mean today is wonderful and l defo recommend this place in fact if you love sushi but have a partner who hates fish plz come here cause you will be enjoying awesome sushi while they are just looking at you eating and stuffing your face with sushi.. love peace, namaste hahaha 😂🙏🤍😛
M. O.
The Sushi was absolutely amazing. Great environment and brilliant service. I would definitely come back and 100% recommend.
S. B.
Average sushi yet quite pricey - ingredients/fish did not taste fresh and flavoursome.
J.
Delicious sushi and excellent customer service from Leo and the rest of the staff. Highly recommended.
R. T.
The sushi was fresh and delicious and the rolls were well balanced and highlighted the flavor of the fish rather than drown it out.
O. P.
Best sushi I have ever eaten, would recommend. Loved that you can see the sushi being made
C. F.
Great food reasonable prices with a calming atmosphere. Beautiful and intimate venue. Will be visiting again.
m. w.
Best sushi place in Birmingham easily, super chill atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and attentive.
M. R.
Delicious meal, great service, out waitress Hannah was lovely and very patient, and made sure our anniversary was a special evening... Thank you again 😝
D. M.
Had a great experience at Sushi Passion - lovely atmosphere, friendly service and amazing food!
A. S.
Amazing place!! Music is great, staff are super friendly, location is ideal, and the food is unreal!! You need to go here if you like sushi.
K. W. C.
Good and authentic. Sushi rice is good and soft. Sashimi quality is good. One of the best sushi restaurants I have tried in the UK.
S. S.
Delicious, well presented sushi. More expensive then other options in town, but you get what you pay for with the quality of the fish and the service.
You wont go home disappointed.
S. A.
lovely staff beautiful place and really good sushi compliments to the chef 💕💖💗💞💓❤️
G. L.
Sushi platter was okay, not extremely fresh and overpriced. Server and chef wasn’t wearing a mask which was a bit concerning during a pandemic as they’re preparing our food. Platter was £75 and the Dragon Roll was around £15 and it was a big let down- the amount of eel was tiny.
M. Q.
The quality of the sushi is absolutely amazing. We had the tuna samurai and the salmon teriyaki sets. The tuna rolls were so tasty, but the teriyaki rolls were a bit salty. The fish was very fresh. It is a very small restaurant so would definitely recommend to book. One down point is that when we entered the restaurant, it was very, very humid and we felt like we couldn’t breathe!
Z. V.
Literally one of the best sushi I've ever had for a long time. Will go again whenever I pay a visit in Birmingham
H. A.
Excellent sushi! Very reasonably priced for what you get which is really good sushi and great service!
P. R.
Amazing place, the food was delicious and I got the best wine recommendation from the waitress, the only downside was that it was very cold for outside seating even with the blankets they provided so could maybe set some extra heating for the area.
N. S.
The sushi menu is extensive but they only serve sushi so don't expect tempura, yakitori or anything that is not sushi. Definitely the best place in Birmingham and I've tried other places too - Rofuto, Shogun, Fukuoka etc. Spent £82 for the Deal + 3 bubble teas. Sushi was reasonably priced but the bubble tea is expensive. The place is manned by a group of Polish but don't be put off, the sushi is exceptional. Highly recommended.
P. S.
An authentic Chinese restaurant, nice music and environment with normal prices, delicious sushi with a lot of different kinds. Recommend to visit it.
J. S.
A cosy little gem nestled away near Colmore Row (parking is available across the road at the Snow Hill Station car park). The service was friendly and the food was great quality. The decor was also genuine and very relaxing. Make no mistake, this won't be a cheap meal out, but you won't feel like it wasn't worth it as this is an excellent sushi experience! Go as a group of 4 and enjoy one of the platters to your heart's content!
S. Q.
Incredible food, atmosphere and staff. All so helpful and patient as I’m a novice with sushi
D. J.
Incredible service, incredible food, the choya wine is incredible. Really really recommend! The vibe is perfect
P. B.
Looooooooved it!!! Amazing sushi. Must try the Inari Nigiri and Spicy Tuna roll. The spicy Miso soup is also great.
s. T.
Love this place, have a great balance between going out with a loved one or going out with family. Food super tasty, staff helpful, friendly a great place for night out or whilst shopping
r. S.
There are just not enough words to describe how good this place is.
The aesthetic is wonderful, the service and the waiters were fast effective and super friendly and the cooks and the food are top quality.
They don't hesitate to develop or bring something new to the table. I am a very frequent client and they always treat me and my friends like royals!
Apart from the fact that the food is just amazing every single time, the people there are just so friendly that you feel like visiting your friends' place.
It's just a wonderful place that's definitely worth visiting.
B. l.
Some of the best sushi I've ever had! Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff!
S. V.
The food was incredible. We live in London but came here for lunch to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. We love sushi and honestly was not expecting the food to be as amazing as it was. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It’s a place I will make sure I come to the next time I am in Birmingham.
N. D.
Nice place to eat good sushis !!!! A bit pricey but you have better sushi than in the other usual sushi restaurants.
M. P.
Went with my girl on valentines day, food was so good and our server Annabelle was so sweet and helpful
J. D.

A. T. A.
Nice sushi place.
They could do better by packaging different sushi orders in separate boxes.
B. 0.
The best Sushi restaurant in Birmingham. Better than Rofuto, Shogun or Yo! Sushi.
Wonderful atmosphere. Polite staff. Perfect drinks and the best food I have ever tasted.
I will not go to another sushi restaurant as long as this one is open.
H. B.
Great lunch sushi, brilliant service and lovely atmosphere. Thank you!
A.
I was 28 years old when i discovered that sushi is life. I am glad that Sushi passion popped my sushi cherry. I can not fault the experience at all. Everyone was amazing. The food was subliminal and I will definitively comeback.
If like me, you had myths about sushi and do not think you will enjoy...... this is the place to try and you will not be disappointed.
Thank you Sushi passion for the expereince.
C. C.
Really enjoyed the food, lovely ambience and the staff were friendly. Would recommend and will deffo come back :)
M. G.
Beautiful sushi, nice atmosphere lovely people tge food was so good i nearly had an orgasm 😩😩😩😩😩😩
G. S.
Japanese (Polish, really) standard restaurant. Tbh, nothing special. Ordered tuna special set l. Tuna on the nigiri and tuna sashimi were still cold. You're supposed to leave the fish to get to room temperature before serving it. Besides, Tuna sashimi tasted a bit off. Definitely overpriced. £24.50 for the small plate you see in the photo and a small bottle of water.
R. P.
It’s my 6th visit & im back next week 😍🤪🔥😇👍🏻😝

Beautiful Place and Beautiful Sushi. We had the party platter and salmon sashimi which came with miso soup. All made in front of you and so fresh! Also, the plum wine is delicious!

J. F.
Wonderful place. Great atmosphere and decor. The staff where very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious; I had the traditional platter, seaweed salad, and a smokey salmon thing.
Washed it down with some lovely green tea.
Relevant covid restrictions were in place and kept to.
Highly recommend to anyone, will be back!
B. c.
The food and atmosphere are great. The restaurant is small so I would highly suggest booking a table ahead of time. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The sushi was very good, I enjoyed the soft crab roll.
A. S.
Amazing place!! Music is great, staff are super friendly, location is ideal, and the food is unreal!! You need to go here if you like sushi.

My son took me here as a treat and it was a great experience. Nice atmosphere, amazing food and super friendly staff.

Really good quality sushi and sashimi. Definitely a pricier restaurant compared to other sushi restaurants, but well worth the cost. Already looking forward to the next time I can go. Decor and ambience are very good, and there's a train going round the bar.

Best Sushi in Birmingham! Amazing service from Annabelle thank you!

The sushi was really good, the rice is very firm. The temperature of the rice is just nice. I like the creativity of the chef in using Thai chilli sauce on the salmon samurai set. Also I can feel the umami in salmon and the chunks are just nice. I believe the overall quality of the sushi set deserve the priceline. The service crews were very nice but I was being rude to one of them for a bit so I would apologise for it. I would come back to Birmingham to try the other set again.
E. S.
Hats down the best sushi in town. Just look at the picture.
T. S.
Absolutely divine! Great service, perfect ambience- and overall nice place for an intimate dinner!!
C. W.
Visited Thursday 29 July very early evening. The restaurant only had a couple of customers so we were able to sit at the counter. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our order was prepared in front of us in no time at all. A couple of beers were extremely welcome as it had been a hot day. Our food was beautifully presented with hashi, and accompanied by wasabi, ginger and shoyu. The bill was a surprising and very reasonable £31. Thoroughly recommended. Chris Willetts

Sushi so good I couldn't stop myself from digging in before I took a picture.
An utter delight. Came here off the cuff one lunchtime following a friend's recomendation.
Price reasonable for offering, though not cheap. Accompanied a platter with two green teas and came in at less than £40 excluding service.
J. F.
Sushi, very good pricing and lovely fresh food!
A. C.

Food was delightful. And the set up was very charming
D.
Very small place, but sushi is always fresh, tasty and staff is amazing. Only small problem is that they don’t have any draught beer, bottled only.
G. T.
A fantastic find! Top quality sushi, lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, and sparkling sake! What’s not to like?!
M. M.
best sushi in brum, friendly service and amazing food!

I've been meaning to try Sushi Passion for a while. It's very nicely decorated with a cosy atmosphere. I was worried because I had never eaten proper (raw) sushi before but tried the under the waitress' recommendation went for the Sushi Passion, teriyaki and tiger rolls and they were all so fantastic. The tiger roll especially, with its panko‐crusted prawn and beautifully contrasted textures. They were fresh, light, rich and perfectly balanced at the same time, with plenty of umami to go around. The pickled ginger was also really good. My friend really enjoyed the unagi. The waitress was really pleasant and knowledgeable and the service was great. I also tried the miso soup and peach lemonade and both were delicious and refreshing. I will definitely be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant enough to both beginners and seasoned sushi veterans alike.
S. J.

L. W.
The food was traditional and perfect the staff were incredible it was an all round great experience!
W. B.
Great sushi, but the paltry portion of beef for £13 which was also fairly tough loses it a star. A tad expensive.
M. C.
Great quality fish, was fresh and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
J. S.
Outstanding - best sushi I’ve had, great experience, great staff
M.
I was a sushi virgin......till the day I order my first teryaki set at sushi passion birmingham in great Western arcade....It was amazing ...melting down in my mouth.

Sushi Passion is a truly tradition Japanese sushi bar offer wide selection of sushi and sashimi at city centre Birmingham.
I have been to visit Sushi passion last year on October for celebrate my birthday with family as we love Japanese food. We ordered sushi family set, is came with large portion, amazing decoration and really fresh. The environment since the first step walked into the restaurant Its make us feel like we were in Japan with Sakura tree and all Japanese decoration. We decided to sat on the floor like Japanese tradition but there also have bar and normal table if you prefer. Chef are very professional, taking order with friendly recommend and knowledge. Price it’s a bit high but it’s completely reasonable with quality, service, decoration and location in town,
This is the best sushi restaurant in Brum for who love Japanese food and their tradition. I am recommend to all Japanese fan. You will not disappoint at all.
Excellent *****

h.
amazing food, amazing staff ❤️🍣!! will definitely be coming back!
A. B.
Absolutely lovely sushi place. An intimate setting inside the Great Western Arcade offering some great sushi at a reasonable price. Just arrived home from a lovely evening here. The staff were very friendly and the way the restaurant has been set up to deal with the current social distancing measures does not at all detract from the experience. The staff were lovely and the sushi was gorgeous, so good we had to get a second lot to take away for lunch tomorrow!! I'd definitely recommend Sushi Passion to anyone who enjoys sushi. The menu has a wide range of sushi on offer all made in front of you to order. Well worth a visit!
N. Z.
Amazing place with amazing sushi! ❤️❤️❤️ Highly recommend

Delicious food and amazing service😊 will be back soon

Sushi Passion is a smaller restaurant but nevertheless, despite being on the slightly more expensive side, the sushi was really good! From where I was seated, I was able to observe the chef making the sushi infront of my eyes which was interesting. The restaurant has a more traditional design and offers serene and relaxing vibes.
P. P.
Outstanding sushi!
M. M.
The best sushi I’ve eaten in town!
E. M.

L. B.
Absolutely gorgeous food. Really recommend the beef sashimi if you’re a fan of rare meat! Will be back.
A. W.
Favourite sushi in Birmingham, amazing every time.
A. M.
The sushi was just incredible. Even the miso soup was so good that I craved more after finishing it. Service was good, not too pushy. We had a party next to us which was incredibly loud and it was not pleasant to sit next to them. Obviously nobody could do anything about it which is fine.
G. S.
Great atmosphere. Lovely staff. Lovely sushi!!
N. B.
Amazing food and wonderful service. My favourite place in Birmingham!!
J. P.
Food was delicious, lovely atmosphere too- great for a catch up with friends :-)
M.
Amazing food and amazing service!
L. J. M.
The food and the staff are really good. The price is reasonable. The venue is small but it has a nice atmosphere.
S. E.
A lovely place. Loved everything about the service, the setting and the food!
C. B.
Hands down the best sushi my wife and I have ever had. Price is on the high side but completely worth it in my opinion. Seating limited as it’s only a small place so I’d recommend booking to avoid disappointment
S. O.
Very good sushi and pleasant service.
V.
We had a mixed experience here.
When we first came to the restaurant we were told to wait a while despite having booked a table. This was way pre-Covid by the way. After getting a table we were told to move from one place to another shortly after seated at the first table, I am unsure why. Despite this though, the food was absolutely amazing. It was sooo worth the money, and is the best sushi I have ever eaten. We had a mix of different sushi, soup and white wine with our meal and everything was top notch.
Although the place is tiny, it was cosy and the decor was brilliant. I would just recommend for the place to sort out their booking system a bit better and not move people around as much.
s. k.
Their food is so good, service is excellent and would definitely recommend.
J. N.
Great food and service! The server Patricia was lovely!
A. A.
Really enjoyed the food!! And patrysga was really great and so helpful
Thank youuu!!
A. H.
Went with my mate who’d spent his birthday there so as our reason to come by train was canceled he introduced me to there as I lived in Japan for many years so love my sushi
s. r.
Excellent sushi and Hoi really looked after us- thank you! We’ll be back
J. T.
Best sushi in Birmingham.
Started from a booth in the fishmarket
Amazing skill with fish, well worth the money.
Miss the restaurant but the takeaway is a divine treat.
A. V.
Amazing food for a great price. Our waiter Hoi was an amazing help and made us feel comfortable ✨
J. M.
very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant, all decorations are very japanese. The sushi was amazing, we seat by the bar seat and can see the little train deliver the fresh sushi, quite fun night.
nice service , thanks.
will be back
S. L.
Such a nice and peaceful atmosphere! Highly recommend the dragon roll
W. T.
Excellent food and service. I very highly recommend this place

M. B.
Lovely staff. Sushi was amazing. Would definitely recommend
J. R.
Even after the 3rd time visiting, each experience was better that the last and definitely worth the price for it.
M. E.
Amazing food and kind staff :)
N. R.
The food is amazing and the service is beyond great!! If i could I'd give 10 stars
A. O.
Birmingham's hidden sushi gem! Tucked away in the Great Western Arcade, it's like you step into another little world. The interior is traditional Japanese inspired and evokes a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Sushi is fresh and very tasty, you can really tell that it's good quality unlike some places in the Chinese Quarter... Proper big pieces with thick slices of fish! Many interesting combinations to choose from and several good set menus of varying sizes. Although I'm not vegetarian, I did notice a good range of vegetarian sushi as well, including a set menu.
A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Would recommend and will definitely be returning!
D. B.
Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. Long wait for food though. An experiance rather than a quick meal.
D. C.
Really amazing sushi and cosy atmosphere
T. P.
Stunning little restaurant!
The sushi is top notch as it hasn't been sitting on a conveyor belt for 2 hours. The chef's prepare it right in front of you (if your sat at the bar) Its cold, fresh and tastes amazing.
It is quirky, the menu's are 15 years old and they have some unusual music and lighting choices...
But I'll definitely be going back again.
M. P.
Sushi was really tasty and the fish looked fresh. Beers are mainly larger sizes. It's small so would recommend reserving a table and not cheap but worth the money. The traditional Japanese set was a great size for 2 for lunch. Would definitely return.
K. T.
The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and dining in there is an excellent eating experience. So calm and peaceful. Super friendly staff who are happy to explain the menu to you.
The food is excellently made and presented beautifully. I cannot fault it at all.
A. D.
What wonderful food and service. I will definitely be back soon.
L. O.
Very nice customer service and most of all, the food is high quality. I highly recommend this restaurant.
F. B.
An amazing meal! Very excited to come back!
N. K.
Very nice !!👍😘
S. H.
This was amazing, the Sushi here is fantastic, it's not often you leave a restaurant wishing you'd spent more on a larger platter. Everything here was spot on, the seating was great, the train delivered dishes were delightful, the fish was fantastic, and also the range of fish too.
Having a very skilled sushi chef prepare the dish before your eyes was great. Totally recommend a visit. I know I'll certainly be back.
I happened to overhear the chef reassuring a couple who were having a first time sushi experience to relax and to eat sushi with their fingers. This is exactly how sushi would be eaten in Japan, you can tell the culture is being loved and breathed by the team.
Miso soup, often a bit plain, was the richest I'd ever had... Hate writing this, because it's making me hungry...
A. F.
Fabulous food and a lovely calm atmosphere
C. V. D.
Really delicious food, friendly staff and really great calm atmosphere.
L. C.
Best sushi in Birmingham. Good and friendly service. I like this place and visit when I want to have a good sushi
M. M.
Really good selection of sushi and Japanese food. Service and food was great!
N. F.
Beautiful sushi experience: preparation is great, precise and aesthetically gourgeous, in this intimate restaurant in the city centre. Every dish is made with real passion, and everything seems a high quality japanese sushi, even the ice cream (colorfuly decorated and highly suggested!).
Pricey: if someone will offer you a dinner there, it means real love for sure!
P. V.
The food was delightful and the service was friendly and efficient
J. K.
Without doubt one of the best sushi restaurants in Birmingham, I've been a number of times to eat in and get a takeaway. I have never been disappointed. If you're looking to taste real sushi you should visit.
N. K.
A lovely experience which I recommend to anyone who likes Sushi.
Y. F.
Best sushi restaurant I've ever been in UK and almost the same as what I had in Tokyo. We went there in week days and had a enjoyable lunch. Good environment and friendly staffs! We also had a good talk with the owner. They stick to spirit of sushi from materials to cooking which surprises me a lot. If you really want to have good sushi, this would be your first choice.
e. k.
Very nice restaurant, quiet and relaxing ambience to enjoy a meal with experienced sushi chefs. Great range of set sushi menus so you can eat a bit of everything.
Nice drinks menu and competent staff.
M. S.
Tasty food and tasty miso soup good prices too
S. V.
Excellent sushi, great service.
If you like sushi definitely one to visit and endulge.
C. B.
Fresh, tasty food. Intimate restaurant and great to watch food being prepared. Staff were very helpful with menu and friendly. Highly recommended 😊 Can't wait to return!!
A. C.
Great environment, delicious food. Many of the dishes have a unique taste and they make them in front of you. Fast service and helpful staff.
A. A.
very nice sushi and the staff are friendly specially Zoya
P. M.
The hosts and particularly the person serving the dishes is very rude. As you enter at 8 he looks at you and tells you the restaurant is closed or closing. It seems they just want to go home early and clean the place whilst you are eating. It is not a relax atmosphere as it seems you have to rush so they can close (at 8 or 9 pm). Don't they want customers? The food is good but they put you off. They can cook Japanese but there is no Japanese feeling or colture in this place.
D. K.
The absolutely best suchi in Birmingham. Whether you ask of today's best you'll certainly get better than Yo! Suchi.
J. W.
the best place to have proper sushi in Birmingham.
Been there few tims and love it!
Japanese decor and service, you will also see tatami there.
Sushi is always fresh made front of you.
A. K.
Had a fantastic evening with my wife. Owner is absolutely awesome person. Had a nice relaxed chat with him. Sushi were fresh, delicious, made in front of us and served with love! Great place!
R. V.
Incredible sushi even better service. Thank you!
m. j.
Okay. So beyond the history of this place and the links to 2 other places in Birmingham, Sushi Passion is the date place. Gaijin (related) is the friend zone group place. The stall in the market is the Hatori Hanzo place. It’s sushi is impeccable. Nobu quality. Omakase on request. The bar is how you get the best food. The tables are how you get a second date. Try it at lunch!
C. R.
Popped in for a quick lunch and was blown away by the quality of the food. We had the Teriyaki platter and some edamame beans and it was all super tasty. The setting was lovely and peaceful also. Will definitely be returning.
G. L.
Fantastic food with great staff to match! The restaurant is a little small so you may need to book in advance. There's also little train set that is used to bring some of the food around if you are sitting by the chefs area which is a nice touch and a little different from the conveyor systems you see in the chain sushi places.
A. W.
small place with perfect fresh made sushi!
decor's so cool with strong Japanese style.
Been there few times and every time was happy.
If you love sushi or want to try real sushi, then you need check it out
A. K.
Best sushi in Birmingham by far, avoid the typical chains and try out this hidden gem
J. S.
Best sushi in the midlands !!
C. H.
Fantastic hidden gem! Lots of choices, we had the teriyaki set menu and also a side of dragon roll, it's was delicious! Friendly staff, definitely will return.
M. B.
Great quality food and a somewhat authentic feel. All the food is freshly prepared with a great deal of care and attention, however for this reason you may wait a long time to eat. The menu has more variety than you might expect, though as the name suggests, not recommended to those who do not plan to eat sushi!
d. h.
food was great, staff not so much
O. F.
Nice atmosphere, but portion can be bigger
s. A.
The food was really good and reasonable. very nice staff.
D. d. K.
One of the best restaurants I went to when in Birmingham. We decided last minute to go there. When we arrived we got a traditional place and sat on the ground. The have a train driving over the bar with food and a lot of choice. Strongly recommended.
S. P.
Amazing food! Amazing service
A. B. D. M.
Overall experience was ok but price was too high. You can get same quality in other restaurants.
r. k.
Tasty food and very friendly staff 😉
A. A.
If you love sushi then you need to go to sushi passion!
e. b.
Nice small place and delish sushi
R. S.
Soooooooo tasty! Great service and cool decoration!
A. I.
The food was very good and the place is nice and I liked the service and thankyou
From Abdulmohsen
m. m.
I order take away on a monthly regular basis from here and i must say every week is becoming more dissapointing. First of all, for the overpriced sushi you expect a certain quality. The sashimi is getting smaller and smaller, the eel nigiri was so tiny last time i think they are really having a joke! Very tiny portions, for £80 pounds / order i am not pleased at all! The rolls are very good and generous though so I will give them that. They don't even seem to care for the returning customers. Sorry, i can't give it more than 1 star and probably i won't be ordering again.
J. P.
Small restaurant tucked away in the town centre, it has a calming atmosphere. This is hands down the best sushi I have had, it is a little more pricey than other places, but beats any other sushi place I have been to. Absolutely recommended!
E. Y.
Great food, great service! Would revisit. Definitely recommend the plum wine!
K. T.
Had an amazing dinner with my fiancé. Will be coming back soon :)
L. A.
Best to probably ring up and book a table. As the place isn't large at all. They have two conventional tables and two Japanese style tables. The food is freshly prepared in front of you if your sitting at the bar. Food is fantastic authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi. Best place to park is snow hill car park. Or go by train to said station. Less than a 5 minute walk to the bar.
O. M.
I ordered a traditional Japanese platter and the veg platter. The rice is perfectly cooked and the nigiri pieces are large in comparison to other sushi restaurants in the Birmingham area. I wish I was able to find a menu online. Other than this, my experience at Sushi Palace was superb.
M. B.
Splendid food and wonderful service.
m. r.
I really like this place. However, I would improve some things like menu which I think would do a lot for the restaurant and the service wasn't the best today, been waiting for a waiter long time after we have finished our meal. Still would recommend it, quality and value of food deserves more than 5 stars but other things matter too.
M. G.
Tremendous food, very attentive staff. Absolutely top class. Thoroughly recommend.
L. L.
The service was brilliant and the food is outstanding
V. K.
One of the best restaurants in Birmingham. Their tuna samurai set is amazing!
W. R.
Sushi was lovely, and you can see the chefs making it in front of your eyes if you sit at the bar. Service however was poor, less of 'what would you like" or 'what can I get you' and more 'what do you want' style. Also, I asked for a glass of water and got lukewarm water without ice or lemon, which are normally pretty standard.
J. W.
Great staff, nice food
S. J.
Quality authentic Japanese food, the price may appear to be expensive but the quality and quantity will far exceed your expectations.
I am pleasantly surprised that this place isn't packed with customers!
P. H.
Delicious sushi and good service! Teriyaki salmon is the best!
A. K.
Lovely food and venue. Will be back.
A. M.
Great food and amazing staff
C. C.
Really nice sushi, had 3x3 sashimi for £17.50, big pieces of nice fish.
The place has low seating, sushi train (toy train for orders going round chefs not a conveyor belt). And generally a very authentic experience.
However, they have an old website with Very outdated prices.
N. M.
The best sushi bar in Birmingham)!!!
B. B.
Great selection of sushi and sashimi. When so try a new sushi spot, I always order tamago to gauge quality. There’s was excellent. I ordered salmon sashimi and salmon belly nigiri (without no onions and not baked). My partner ordered Robin Set which had a large assortment of nigiri and sashimi.
R. B.
Amazing sushi here, nice relaxed atmosphere. Loved watching the chef prepare the food in front of us, he even gave us a little treat of scorched salmon belly, delicious!
D. M.
It's not cheap and the staff could do with being a bit more attentive and checking if you want more drinks etc. (I guess this could have just been a one off too) but the food was probably the best sushi I've ever tasted!
Y. V.
Average sushi - only tuna and salmon, plus some with canned tuna. A bit too much mayonnaise, insufficient ginger, miso soup bland. On positive side fish was fresh, rice was fine, restaurant decor interesting.
N. B.
Wonderful food lovely service, just perfect!
L. M.
The food was amazing. Really fresh. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. The menu was extensive and the ambiance was really lovely. Music was there & appropriate but not intrusive.
H. H.
The menu was pretty detailed and it took a bit of flicking back and forth to choose, but all the contents were listed well enough. We went for one of the cheaper platters, the soft shell crab, and the california rolls, and after the beef was unfortunately unavailable, we went for something else too, but I can't remember which!
S. C.
Small restaurant with good atmosphere, great sushi and friendly service.
We had 3 platters between 4 of us (about 20 sushi per platter) which was more than enough.
It was a bit expensive (£86) but worth it.
We recommend a visit.
U. M. F.
The sushi is delicious and as good as you'll eat in Japan, the service not entirely. I asked for the bill on standing up from the table as I had to catch a train. The waiter told me 'he wasn't aware of a request for the bill', read: 'I should have asked for the bill before I got up'. In Japan it's common to pay for the bill at at the till, and given I was paying £50, it was my prerogative to choose the manner of my payments- I was rather taken aback at this style of 'service'.
L. H.
Thoroughly enjoyed, will definitely return.
D. R.
I ordered for collection and got the salmon platter, it was so tasty and so fresh, service is 10/10 you get free extra sauces and as many chop stick as you want.
T. A.
Great food, service, and vibes.
A. O.
So happy to discover this little gem. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was very good. Will definitely return and recommend 👍🏽
F.
Food is really good and quickly served. I had hot sake for the first time. (Maybe it's not that cheap but it's real Japanese style. I went with a Japanese friend)
S. B.
Such delicious sushi and sashimi!
A. K.
Probably the best sushi in Birmingham, great menu selection and amazing atmosphere. A little pricey for everyday sushi but nice on special occasions.
R. M.
Great food but very poor service. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks and the restaurant wasn't even very busy. The sushi was good but I'm afraid the service really let the restaurant down and I won't be returning.
A. G.
Sushi is very nice here but it is ridiculously expensive. £70 for a few vegetarian dishes and two soups and that isn't including booze. Not particularly friendly atmosphere.
T. A.
Best sushi in Bham!
J. W.
This place is the best Japanese restaurant in the UK. You wont be getting this quality sushi in this price anywhere in the UK. Will definitely coming back soon!
A. M.
Great service, great food
Q. C.
Fantastic sushi, beautifully presented. Tastes is amazing. I removed a star because it's insanely expensive. Most sushi sets are in the £30 range.
D. T.

Great experience. Perfect for a date night! Fresh sushi and sashimi. A little expensive but worth the quality of food. The salmon sashimi was great. The miso soup wasn’t worth the money. I’d definitely go back.

It's the nearest Japanese Sushi taste I have tried in UK. Although they are quiet pricey, but quality and freshness are beautiful everytime we go there. Love it.

This is the best place for sushi in Birmingham. Beautiful setting. So much choice. Yes it's pricey but you get what you pay for.

The best sushi I've tried so far. I've been twice, and they always have fresh products and wonderful dishes. I'll definitively return even though it is a bit expensive.

I am Japanese reviewer.
It may be one of the best quality sushi you can find in England. I felt Japanese sushi thats offered in this shop is made by proper trained chef.

Best bubble tea I ever had. The fish is so, so fresh.
The electric train running around the cooks/kitchen and delivering some plates is cute.

I had eaten although my friends had a lunch time snack. The service was great, quick, nothing seemed too much. I had a pot of green tea and enjoyed the taste. Overall a great experience.

Lovely ambience and all the sushi/sashimi is made to order from wonderfully fresh fish. Do be aware that it is expensive compared to other sushi restaurants, but it is worth it.
