Haven't been to this place in a few years so thought I'd visit, burgers are pretty standard and you can get better elsewhere. Had the buttermilk chicken which was basic and then the pulled beef, had high expectations the way the waiter described it but it wasn't so tender. The bottom bun on each burger was so much smaller than the top which made it awkward to eat, not experienced this before. Raised the point to the waiter but he said they been using the same supplier for 6 years, not sure how his response addressed the issue but then he offered to get me another top to replace the bottom one which was quite comical. Won't revisit in a hurry.

Just went again yesterday, got the Peanut butter and chilli jam burger. It was gorgeous! The burger is big enough so you're not undoing your jeans button at the end of the meal and the sweet potstoes fries were nice. The strawberry mojito drink was sooooo good but there could have been a little kess ice and more drink. Would defo recommend coming here.

A burger restaurant in the long restaurant stretch of Ladypool Road. While we only tried one burger we got the signature Tru Burger which had a beef and chicken pattie. For around £11 you get a massive burger with 2 onion rings on top asking with skin on fries. A tasty burger with a lot of meat taste. It was a target sloppy burger which had a lot of juices running of it. It definitely wasn't a classic burger so don't expect amazing flavours. It's hard to get any flavour except tasty charred meat. It was a full meal on its own. The fries were very good and came with 2 types of sauce both had chilli in them. The decor is excellent and we'll with bringing family to. Well be coming back next time in Birmingham for a full review.

Their beef burgers are some of the best in the UK, without even exaggerating! They are delicious and cooked properly, juicy and soft. The manager Usman is an awesome and very friendly guy, the staff are exceptional. They make sure everything runs well from food arrival time and always check up on you to see if everything's okay. Whenever I'm in Birmingham and need a burger, I always come here and for good reason too. I usually get the fairground, doubled up. Love the skin-on fries. Must try.

This was my first time to TruBurger. Upon entering I struggled a little to get our pushchair up the 3 steps to enter the restaurant, although someone from the establishment offered to help. The service was great and recommendation was top! its been a while I've had a burger and I can truly say I was impressed. My wife ordered a different burger and we even managed to squeeze a kids burger for one of my little one. We all ate our food and enjoyed it. The drinks were nice and refreshing, especially the milkshake. I did visit the gents and I would say they need to ensure the cubicals are cleaned regularly and kept to a standard. Would I visit this place again? I would indeed. The price for the size of the burger is a little on the high side considering the location of the restaurant. Good job!

This place has a lot of potential if they get a few issues sorted. 1. Prices need to balance what people are getting. £1.50 for a can of pop that arrives sans glass/ice etc is exorbitant. As is £10 for a burger and fries that came out of a bag. There's The an item on the menu called 'Thunder thighs' which says 3 chicken thigh pieces. Less chicken than one regular thigh....£5! Food tasted good and the quality was there, it just didn't hit the right balance of quality:quantity. 2. If you're going to put yourself across as a Tru burger restaurant, then do proper burgers and sides. Chicken burger was dry and clearly cooked from frozen, beef patties were better, pulled beef was cold. Fries were out of a bag. FYI Five Guys chip their own potatoes. It's not that hard. 3. Don't put sauce all over people's orders. If a dish comes with sauce, put it on the side, away from the salad. Venue was nice and has a cosy feel. Not sure what they're trying to be though as the place feels like a steakhouse.

Disappointing. My friend & I found the burgers quite bland. The lamb chops we’re decent flavour wise but we’re overcooked. Drink was yum though! 10/10 I guess it depends on if you’re lucky or not.

Went on a busy Saturday night and we were pre-warnwd that the food would be a while, so can’t hold this against them... despite our large group we were still seated quickly. The chicken and waffle with maple syrup is definitely the thing to order... oddly it tasted better than the burgers which were a bit hit and miss around the group. Starters decent but nothing to rave about. Solid food and good service.

This outlet is all right. As with a long marriage, standards subconsciously or intentionally begin to fall. The chicken wings here for example were once memorable. Now it seems cheaper marinade/sauce is used. It’s like your wife first wearing Maison Francis Kurkdjian perfume and then as time moves on she is in aisle 7 of Asda buying Dove Original Spray Anti-Perspirant. All you smell is Dove armpits. I sense that’s where this place is gradually heading with its wings. Complacency is prevalent amongst apne. As with many burger places, I can also sense the barely perceptible decrease in burger size, but it’s still perceptible nevertheless. By 2050 you’ll need an electron microscope to locate the burger and it will be £15.47 ex fries. I know how this scam works. You get smaller so slowly that people don’t notice, and you increase prices in such small increments that most of the zombies don’t realise. They’ll still come and say: “To be fair, the consumer price index has risen,” blah blah blah! Whatever that means. When we asked to be seated at a more comfortable table, the member of staff gave that exasperated sigh. It’s like she was going to make 742 meals simultaneously for Children in Need. The burger I had was nice enough, but nothing to wildly celebrate about. To be honest, double patty and it didn’t really fill me up, nor was it satisfying. It was ok. It did a reasonable holding job until tomorrow. A bit like Origi filling in for Firmino. The thing that irks me most is people who when given 2 or 3 things to remember; they forget one thing always. No different here. Ask for sauces and salt. Forget the salt! These people in my “Concepts of Life” book (available in all good book shops) shouldn’t be permitted to have children. Imagine they had 3 kids. They would forget one’s name, and it’s almost certain one of the three would also have the codfish memory gene. Another good idea is to remember what is not available or in short supply on the menu beforehand, rather than coming back 10min after we ordered to tell us. It’s like going to A&E and being told a doctor will see you shortly only for them to come back and tell you 10min later after losing 5 pints of blood: “Oh sorry, no doctors are available, or “many are off duty today.” Would you like to change that to a nurse instead?” It’s the same when you are hungry. You get more annoyed and order anything in the end, because your time has been wasted. “Mice droppings, sir.” “Yes that’ll be fine.” I have been to 3 burger places in past few weeks. None of them impressive. Stick to Desi places.

Good friendly staff who are very helpful in explaining and choosing the burger if you haven't been here before. A cosy atmosphere for friends and families to sit and enjoy their food. A decent choice on the menu. My only criticism is that the music was too loud and I asked a member of staff to turn it down but she just seemed to touch the knob as it didn't seem lower than before.

Ordered the chicken buttermilk fried fillet burger snd fries. Haven't had this good a burger in years. Food was delicious and well worth it. Kids meals were very tasty and good portion sizes. Staff were friendly and served us with attention. Place was comfortable and relaxing. Definitely worth a visit if you're in that area.

I came here twice, once on a weekday evening (not busy) and also on a Saturday evening (busy). Both times the food has been very nice, I ordered the Macaroni burger and the Tru Tower Burger with fully loaded fries each time. Also had wings for starters which are very nice - drenched in sauce! Had no issues in the weekday, but on the Saturday my food took 45 minutes to arrive, wings were cold and had to be sent back. Had to remind the waiter to take our order and to check on our food when waiting several times. Service wasn't good enough, priority was given to groups of 2-4 and any tables with 6+ were treated as less important, slower service, food brought in double the time etc. Would have been a 4-5* review if it wasn't for the delay in waiting, the lack of quality service and the poor hospitality. Hopefully they improve on these as the restaurant has potential to be great. Overall the interior, seating, atmosphere and food is nice. Service is borderline poor depending on how busy the restaurant is. If you want to enjoy it properly go when it isn't peak time unless you're in a small group.

Ordered the platter for 2 and the tower burger with cheesy fries. The tower burger was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The platter had a lovely array of light options that complemented the main perfectly. The staff here are very attentive and helpful.

understaffed, one waiter was walking around and sweeping under empty tables and polishing cutlery whilst we was waiting to be served. Order was taken after 10 minute wait which is reasonable, the drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. In the mean time a table sat after us had already received their drinks, starters and even mains. Eventually got our starters after a 20 minute wait. Presentation was great food was hot straight off the grill. The lamb chops starter was well cooked and very succulent and excellent flavour. The spicy beef burger was to my surprise spicy the sauce had a kick to it. The normal chips are just standard nothing special. The only thing that was disappointing was the cheap ketchup a let down to an otherwise great meal, but it didn’t make a difference to the great food.

Went there last week after 4 years. Since the first visit was good so decided to go again and I must say they have managed to keep their standard high in all these years as opposed to most places on lady pool road that go downhill once they have established a good reputation, prime example would be toro's which is right next to truburger; what an absolute waste of money and disappointment. If you are planning to go toro's, save yourself disappointment and go truburger. Their starters plate alone is so good, specially the macroni and cheese bites. Burgers are all good. Fries could be improved, hence the four star. Service was brilliant. Food served hot. Nice setting. Absolutely recommend this place 👍

This place was recommended to me by locals and my cousins who live in Birmingham. It is one of the best burger joints I've been too! The food had great flavours, great taste, big portions and good service. The place accommodated well for my big extended family. We tried various beef/lamb burgers and I had a taste of everything. I would say any beef/lamb burger is a good choice, juicy patties and great flavours. I also tried the animal fries which taste a lot better than they sound! Drinks were well made. Mojitos were nice and the Pina Colada was good although the glasses could have been bigger. Service was great, nice friendly staff although I felt sorry for the poor girl who was running the whole busy shop floor alone. Maybe a few more waiters/waitresses would be good. Also received a complimentary chicken and waffles dish which was appreciated by my family. Definitely a great burger place and in my opinion fantastic value. Would definitely come back if I'm around Birmingham again! Open a branch up in London I'll be a good customer haha.

Ate here late Sunday evening 15/01/17. Walked in and was promptly greeted to what looked a quite night for the place. Seating and tables were nice and clean. Rap music in background had offensive lyrics and was promptly changed to arabic songs after a member of staff notice. Female waitress was very polite and friendly. Starters weren't brilliant so save the space for mains. Ordered a platter for 4. BBQ wings had just been dipped in sauce and served, Chicken tenders were just deep fried strips and Chilli nachos were a bit stale. Burgers and house fries on the other hand were lovely and the main reason you go to this place. Had a Tru cheese burger with extra patty option to customise was offered by the kind waitress. Burger sat perfectly. Bun was nice and soft, meat was juicy and well seasoned and salad was colourful and fresh. House fries were fresh and tasted brilliant with a bit of seasoning. Numerous sauces in takeaway plastic pots were placed on our table but didn't know what they were as they weren't labeled.

Really enjoyed the food at Tru Burger everything was well presented. They was only 2 negatives that made me not give a 5 star. First one was the price although it’s very well portioned I felt like they were over charging on food, when compared to other shops on Ladypool road. Second one was the service, the girl who served us was really nice and helpful but when it came to giving us our drinks they gave it before the food. When we told them our drinks were cold after eating the food they just said ok we will reheat it. Considering the amount we spent at the restaurant I was expecting them to make us new ones but instead they put it in the microwave and just heated up our lattes and tea. I have never experienced service like that before I was a bit disappointed by that.

Had a good experience at TruBurger, food was nice, the portions need to be bigger- chips were not enough and the size of the bun compared to the filling was much bigger. Also there is a poor selection of starters and apparently was told that the mince loaded animal fries have been taken off the menu. Also, the store needs to be clear about their opening times as online it says open 10am but they did not open till 2pm. We rang the store several times in the morning but no answer and they messaged me back on Instagram much later.

Beautiful food and great service as always, everytime I'm in Birmingham this is the place I choose to go have my steak for dinner. The burgers and steak are always spot on, I even asked for a warm drink and was serve a beautiful Desi Chai, better than the Chai Wala across the road ;)

Halal burger place with some breakfast options. Supposed to be very good but Iust admit I wasn't impressed with the 4 star hygiene rating. I also wasn't impressed that they were over half an hour late in opening on a Sunday morning. Wouldn't have minded so much but the music was blaring out and there was some activity but no interest in speaking to us. Eventually they told us they would be open in a further ½ hour. Might go back if in the area anyway but otherwise Birmingham - best halal burgers title is up for grabs!! :-)

Ordered from here a couple of times to make sure lightning strikes twice - each time the food has been lovely - the portion sizes feel decent, and the quality is way better than most places on Uber eats! Loads of choice on the same road, but not all are equal. The place was open for take-out only due to renovations taking place, but the management recognised we had travelled from afar and kindly offered us seating upstairs. Following the hostesses recommendations, we had a Chicken Tru Burger and can honestly say it was one of the nicest burgers I’ve ever had. Simple yet, delicious. Absolutely hit the spot! Amazing Food Amazing Service Genuinely one of the nicest experiences I’ve had in a very long time.

Definitely the go-to burger joint on ladypool road. Nothing compares to the mouth watering, succulent burgers alongside the hospitable service. Tried almost everything on the menu from breakfast to burgers to steaks and nothing misses! Visited on a Monday evening with a friend, it wasn’t very busy and we were seated and attended to promptly by the waiter. The menu is not over complicated like some other places which is good. I ordered the Minted Lamb burger with some chicken wings and my friend Dr Ujjy (who is a huge body builder) ordered a steak, obvs. Food came out in a reasonable time. Now for the main part - the food was fantastic. The minted lamb burger was cooked perfectly and was succulent and juicy. The burger had a combination of ingredients that worked really well with each other giving lots of flavour! The fries were good and not the cheap out of the packet variety. The only negative was that it was kind of a messy meal but hey that’s part of the fun of eating a burger and wings I suppose! The chicken wings were delicious, nice and spicy Louisiana style. Dr Ujjy’s steak was also cooked perfectly - medium rare because he’s a beast like that. Came with steak cut chips, veggies, and sauce. Only problem was he wanted even more protein after gobbling it all down! All in all a great experience. Great food, great staff, great ambience. Will definitely be visiting again!

Delicious good quality food. Extensive range of burgers. Standard fries comes with burgers which you can upgrade to sweet potato fries or fully loaded. Good starters including nachos. Mocktails also available and sides. Would highly recommend. Cute decor also!!

Had breakfast here for the first ,recommended by a friend. Smiling and friendly staff welcomed us so immediately we felt at ease. We enjoyed our food and the decor is quirky . Toilets were clean but could do with a mirror on the wall. More kids meals options would be helpful as well as colouring pencils/books to keep kids entertained. The only thing I didn't like was that while we were eating ,we had someone cleaning near us and the cleaning spray smell was off putting. Other than that it was a good breakfast experience.

Great food, tasty burgers and steaks, better than most places on lady pool rd. Their chicken steak with pepper corn sauce and beef burgers are my favourite. I've been here a number of times and they've been so accommodating, I've visited with my baby in pushchair they've always made space, when I've needed to load up my laptop they've ensured I've had access to a power supply. The female waitress, is so attentive, kind and honest. Thanks for the great service and food. Only constructive criticism is to spruce up your drinks further with some fruit etc.

I've been visiting TruBurger for years and is definitely one of top go to places in Birmingham, the food is also consistently great and the service is beyond amazing. The staff always go above and beyond to cater to the needs of the customer. They also offer breakfast on the weekends up until 2pm which I highly recommend, especially the classic Tru English(full english) or the tomato and pesto bake which if defined by words, feels like home. You absolutely have to try the lamb chops, by far some of the most juiciest/succulent chops I have eaten till this day. From the main menu there are a lot of great choices, I tend to lean towards the classic Fairground burger topped with fully loaded fries, the patty is seasoned well and cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of condiments, this is definitely my go to. The lamb patty is also worth trying, it is infused with herbs and spices which remind of middle eastern cuisine. The owner is also an amazing guy who you will find most days at the back in the kitchen because he genuinely cares about what he is putting out to his customers.

I havent been here in a while. I have visited truburger roughly six times between july 2015 to july 2016. The burgers are great. The rosemary chips and fantastic. However I do not recomment the steak burger (if it is still being sold) as it is extremely chewy, difficult to eat and messy. Also I was disappointed when truburger decided to no longer have the option of the beef burgers being cooked either medium or welldone. But i will still give it five stars as its a nice place with good food at a decent price.

Lamb chops very nice and tasted fresh in terms of the marinade etc but should have been cooked longer as the texture was too soft . Can’t really complain as been to places that overcook and it’s too chewy. Guess a happy medium is hard to come by?
