Reviews of Bincho Yakitori
r.
Delicious yakitori restaurant!!!!
1) quail egg w bacon 🥓
2) Chicken with spring onion is superb 💛
3)The grilled sweet potato 🍠 is amazing as well
4) Grilled cabbage 🥬 was unexpectedly good 😌
5) would not really recommend rice cake but it was okay tho! Personally didn’t like it but my friend enjoyed it! 😅 personal preference I guess.
Would definitely pay a visit again next time 🍻

Amazing experience.
The aubergine was just superb.
The simple green salad had a tasty d complex dressing wish was wow😍
Didn't have anymore more space to order the special with the black garlic sauce (but i had a tricky sample 🤤).
Red rice ale, sake & the whisky were very nice.
See you next year.

Absolutely fantastic. Not your typical Japanese place... Most things are grilled and everything we had was fantastic.. Great service, interesting drinks menu and great ambiance.
D. P.
Absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend getting lots of different things! And also the Plum wine was very nice. 😋😋

I absolutely loved this restaurant. Notoriously difficult to get a booking but I can see why it's in such demand. It provided a very authentic experience, with novel Japanese decor and excellent menu full of yummy, savoury dishes in traditional Japanese street food style. I could've eaten everything on the menu, between the 4 of us we managed to choose different small plates to share and it was great. Lovely waitresses on hand to take our order and open style kitchen added to the experience. I would thoroughly recommend grabbing a booking if you can.

An interesting selection, although I was surprised to find some Korean dishes on the menu, maybe that's authentic, maybe not, sadly Covid postponed our trip to Japan in 2021. For the same reason I can't comment on the ambience but we'd have preferred a bit more light to see by. The food was well presented, well cooked but all a bit "samey", obviously the chicken livers were different from the pork belly and the squid, chicken balls or chicken thighs but they were all in a basic soy marinade. Only as I was paying did I see a small selection of sauces on the menu that might have enhanced the food but we'd missed it in the dimness of our table. Overall, with 1 beer and 1 plum wine, a side salad, edamame and 5 mains ( 2 small skewers per main) the bill was £50, personally we felt that it was a little overpriced for the portions / amount of food and flavours but it was an experience we don't regret, but are unlikely to repeat. Service was attentive and it was reasonably busy for a Tuesday night so I have no doubt others enjoyed it.

Lovely food, great service. The prices are pretty good. I know this is a tiny venue, but the tables are way too small for tapas style dishes. Maybe stop cramming too many people on to them.
We had three people, three plates, three drinks, and six dishes on a tiny pub size two person table. Couldn't fit everything on. The waitress had suggested we order 8-12 dishes!
L. K.
A great, small restaurant with stunning Japanese food. Awesome atmosphere. Really nice selection of sake, wine and beer. Booking ahead highly recommended
R. v. A.
As close to a true Tokyo Izakaya experience as it get’s on the South Coast of England!
TIP: Make sure to book in advance, as it is busy and buzzy at all times (for good reasons obvs)
T. W.
Wow, 1st time visit to this amazing restaurant, the staff and the atmosphere was top notch. The chef served us some mind blowing dishes. I am a meat lover but the cauliflower dish stood out for me (never thought I’d say that) ! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique yet casual dining experience.
10/10

This is possibly the best place to eat in B-town. It's tricky to get a table unless you're quick off the mark and can book in advance. But they do have walk in tables if you're not fussy about how long you get. Love it. Especially the chicken skins mmmmmm

We went to Brighton last November for an overnight trip and were so excited to try Bincho Yakitori because of the nice reviews on Google.
Grilled food are okay but highlight of the night was the miso ice cream - it’s creative and delicious! Highly recommended.
However - the service was really poor - we felt like the waitress just throw the plates to our very small table. All dishes also came at once which means some of the food are cold when we actually get the chance to taste them. Nice environment but the seats aren’t comfortable. The place is really small so do make reservations beforehand.
S. B.
Been 4-5 times now. Easily my favourite restaurant in Brighton. Go here with a group of pals, get drunk on beer and sake and feast merrily on chefs yakitori delights! (Try the sea bream special and the pork belly)
P. S.
After reading about this restaurant on Guardian & checking the reviews, our expectation was very high. The food was good but not amazing & the service was good but disappointed by waiter's over exaggeration of special of the day, just because of her high recommendation we ordered a cabbage dish that was much more expensive than the usual meat dishes & it was really bland. Over all it was alright but not top of my list.
C. D.
Managed to get a table here on Thursday evening early in evening and restaurant was already very busy, clearly very popular and with good reason, excellent food with some really good specials, staff very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed it, don't take it to chance, book ahead!!
h.
Absolutely superb, most definitely the best Japanese meal I have had in the UK so far, and probably now my favourite Restaurant in Brighton, for anyone going I would highly recommend the Kara Age and Cauliflower, both under the fried section of the menu!
A. C.
The staff was really nice 👌. The food was on point as well
S.
FANTASTIC! You will hardly find better quality hot Japanese cuisine in South England. I'm truly amazed on how authentic &tasty every single serving was.
I've been eating Japanese specialties for 10+years which makes me hard to fool with a half decent cooking.
The food comes hot and fast allowing a good feasting.
We were served on the counter as we didn't book in advance giving us a Yakitoriya vibe.
We'd love to come back &see the restaurant open its sister in London !!!
The staff were lovely, I believe it's a family business which makes it even more enjoyable.
R. D. S.
At the beginning I was so upset that they took us to the counter to eat but I really enjoyed to watched both chefs while they are cooking and understood more about their food. Pork belly was the best one I ever eaten in my life. I always like roasted chicken skin at home but they cook and grill it on skewer, yum! Beer is great, food is delicious. I would like to taste whole menu. It's small food for share and reasonable price; great for trying different tastes. I live in Brighton for 8 years, don't know when they open this restaurant but I wish I went there earlier. I will definetly go again! And again, and again...Please book your table, lots of people has to be returned from door because it's a small place and no table if you didn't book in advance. Sweet potato beer and lotus root crisp, these were the first in my life for tonight. PS. They might clear counter little bit. There were paint brushes and lots of hand soap on there and wasn't look nice.
L. B.
Nice small plates, food came quickly. Interesting selection of beers and sake. Highly recommend the quail egg and bacon and the tempura sea bream. Miso aubergine is also good. Really busy restaurant
V. F.
For those it may concern,
We were being informed about the time limit of the table just in 15 mins before it ended (no previous notice than that), while they just previsouly accepted our order for another round of foods & drinks. they would allow NO TIME for you to finish the foods & drinks but offer you a box & bag to take it away immediately. Throughout my life, the first time BEING KICKED OUT from a restaurant like this.
L. W.
I have been visiting Bincho since they opened in 2015 and David and the team have served consistently delicious food and delivered excellent service. Must haves include the Karaage chicken, Pork belly skewers, Sweet potato with miso butter, Aubergine with miso and kimchi rice. Book in advance as very popular and a small restaurant!
S. K.
Incredible food at a reasonable price. Really friendly staff. The atmosphere is fantastic and we regularly go back. Perfect for sharing dishes with friends, I couldn't recommend it enough. The pork belly is outstanding.
D.
Been trying to go here for ages, finally got in and was so worth the wait. Very cosy little place, relatively small but precise menu and amazing food. Waitress was very polite and couldn't have been more helpful. Portions are quite small so you need to have a few to feel full but the prices are good and not expensive. Try the sweet plum wine.
l. C.
Truely a wonderful experience you’d expect the likes of tucked away in a hip London location, nicely placed in a quirky seaside city. Aubergine perfected like the gods intended
C. G.
Not only is the food incredible (the best I have ever eaten) the beers are out of this world! Booking is needed to ensure you dont miss out. Staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is just so fitting with the food. If you visit one restaurant in Brighton make sure this is it
c. l.
Stunning food. Loved it all. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Covid safe
S. C.
Absolutely loved this place, fantastic little plates of great food. Lovely chilled out vibe and very fairly priced. Cant wait to come back. Service staff great as well. Thanks for a great night.
G. P.
AMAZING! One of the best meals I’ve had in a while here. Particularly loved the cauliflower and the squid, both really delicious! Service was fast and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend booking before you go, we were lucky enough to find a table on the same evening but it was pretty busy! Worth it though!
I. H.
Absolutely delicious. We had 10 different plates from the menu and all or them were perfect. I don't think you could go wrong. We really like our food and this place has already gone into our top 10. Perfect service. Very, very fair prices. We'll recommend this place to all of our friends. Thank you.
A. J.
The staff are amazing, the food was delicious. Very cute restaurant and lovely atmosphere. Very good value for money.
C. L.
REALLY excellent food! Try the cauliflower, pork belly, chicken Meatballs, and the Amber ale was excellent. The gin and tonic only comes in double measures, which my wife didn't seem to mind 😉 Meal for two came in at about £50 including booze. Pretty decent. Great service too.
T. C.
Don't get many authentic yakatori bars it the UK so really worth a go for the experience
A. B.
Food is great and it's little dishes to go with the drinks mostly as its more a bar than a restaurant and very busy but food tastes good and atmosphere is lively
A. M.
Great small plates of well cooked food. Very helpful friendly staff
o. t.
Wow! I'm amazed how tasty food in here! It was very busy, well Saturday night but they looked after us very well. Working in catering business I'm more into food taste than colour of the tables etc. Everything we tasted as so good. Nice to share plates a d try lots of things on the menu. ✌🎉👊
A. T.
Oh my god the BEST restaurant in Brighton!
You have to have the chicken skins, pork belly and miso aubergine.
Never disappointed.
Book in advance...at least a week or two!
G. R.
The food is extraordinarily tasty and good value too. Specialising in yakitori you can expect lots of grilled skewers, especially all different chicken grills and some fantastic vegetable dishes including sweet potato, cauliflower, edamame and a lovely tofu with kimchi. The rice was beautifully cooked too. They have a good beer selection including Japanese and craft beer options, also sake. It gets very busy.
P. M.
One of the best restaurants in Brighton. everything on the menu is pretty great, highlight for me is always the Korean chicken wings. Wash it all down with some hot sake or umeshu. 10/10 would recommend.
M. B.
Simply stunning! Every single skewer was just perfect. Delightful pickle selection, and ox tongue. Green tea ice cream were top quality, not too sweet and very refreshing.
Not surprised they are always full and recommended by locals, tourist and food critics
K. I.
Probably the best place for Japanese food in the whole of Brighton. You can catch the aromas spilling out of the kitchen from 100 yards down the road. The inside is tight and intimate (just like it is back in Japan. A party of 4 is probably the perfect number as you can go through a lot of the menu and split the bill at the end. Highly recommend the pork belly, chicken skin and the plum wine. You want a real culinary treat, hit up Bincho 🥢
A. H.
David and his team of experts are brilliant. I was introduced by a friend to this place and I’ve never had a bad dish ever! Be warned, book ahead this place is awesome and if you want to go... Book! I have never eaten Japanese food like this, the care and accuracy of every dish is exquisite. If there was 6 out of 5 I would have marked it up there!
J. C.
Great food and authentic experience. All dishes where delicious!!
A. L.
Great experience as always! We especially would like to give a shout out to Alina, such a lovely staff that highlighted the night ❤️
K. U.
Amazing food. Great service. Booking is essential but it's worth it. If you're going to Brighton book this restaurant as a priority. You won't regret it
A. L.
Really delicious food and a great menu with just enough choice. The highballs were also delicious and the staff were really friendly and made great recommendations. The portions were a little smaller than expected but all tasty.
G. F.
Highly recommend by a friendly local lady.
Place look refreshingly authentic and the food is exquisite. It was a wonderful experience! Next time I’m in Brighton I’ll definitely go back.
Thank you guys (and adorable Ruth for recommending it)
n.
Had a wonderful meal for a Birthday celebration. Small restaurant that adds to the vibe. Fabulous food. Try the pork yakitori, chicken liver yakitori, sweet potato, broccoli, sea bream, quails eggs, asparagus, try it all! Efficient service, fab food. Thankyou to all the team who looked after us (even after we overstayed our booking time)! New to us Brighton residents we will back!
T. O.
Brilliant. Sat at the counter in front of the kitchen and had such a great experience watching the chefs work. Food was delicious with a slightly smoky flavour from the yakitori grill. Buzzing atmosphere, really highly recommend.
A. B.
Just had another exceptional experience at Bincho! Counter seat always! A pleasure to watch the Chef/owner work his magic! All staff are a credit to him! I will hopefully nab his play list next time! Can't wait to return!
V. P.
Bincho was THE best recommendation we ever got from Brighton friends. We had dinner there before heading to a gig in town, and felt very welcomed by the chef. He suggested a few great options we might not have thought to try otherwise.
W. B.
I can’t remember the last time I had such an amazing meal as this.
I’ve known about it for years as I worked locally and recommended it to so many people but never came to visit myself. Absolutely disappointed in myself for neglecting to come for so long!
The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was great and more importantly, the food was absolutely insane - could not fault a thing.
I shall be returning as soon as I can for another meal, amazing.
M. B.
Very very good. A great tasty and entertaining evening.
L. E.
Amazing service, wonderful food, very quirky. Thought good value for standard of food. Nice to try somewhere different! Squid, chicken skin, pork, kimchi rice all amazing
L.
Great portions, prices and atmosphere - book in advance!
M. T.
Brilliant. I loved my whole meal, from the edamame beans to the pork belly and the most memorable: the sticky cauliflower.
B. I.
Every visit to Binchos is an absolute delight. The vegetarian options are amazing with the cauliflower and miso aubergine being my favourites. Divine! Great service and atmosphere too, easily my favourite place in Brighton and best Japanese food I’ve tasted
S. H.
Incredible small dishes all reasonably priced. The pork belly and the cauliflower were exquisite.
D. J. P.
This place is in top 3 meals I’ve had IN MY LIFE.
Since going to this restaurant I haven’t stop talking about the experience I had here. In an age where it’s so important to support smaller business I IMPLORE you to go to this restaurant. Get the pork belly. Get the chicken skins. Get the quail eggs wrapped in bacon. Get the warm Sake. It is one of the beat restaurants I’ve ever ever ever ever ever been to. EVER.
D. T.
Great dining experience.
Chilled atmosphere. Small plates.Great Variety.
Forget fine dining.
Japanese street food.
Most fun in a restaurant for years.
I want one in my home town!
C. L.
Fab, great beer inc AF. Tasty and will go again
C. A.
Amazing vibe and delicious food. I had the best chicken wings in my LIFE🤩 We were a fan of their playlist as well. The service could be better but staff were really nice.
I. U.
Tokyo IPA is amazing, nice little place, little tapas
C.
45pounds for two including beer and sake. left with a happy tummy. worth for every penny.
J. C.
5/5 for the food and vibe of the restaurant. HOWEVER, as soon as we finished our last mouthful we were told to hurry up and leave (bare in mind we booked 2 weeks in advance and a table at 7pm). Wanted dessert but we weren’t allowed and had to rush drinks to leave.
Understand they’re busy, but they need to allow enough time to finish our meal. Thanks.
J. K.
Excellent food, well priced with a wide range of delicious sakes. The pork belly is excellently cooked, along with the Korean chicken wings. Staff are friendly and provide excellent recommendations. Sitting at the counter provides an excellent view on the chefs cooking patrons' meals, providing entertainment during the whole evening!
O.
Some of the best food I've had in Brighton, and the best Japanese small plates I've had. The food is excellent and the selection of drinks is impressive. Feels very independent, space is cozy and has a nice personality. Even side dishes like the rice were really tasty. Only thing that was a little disappointing was the kimchi portion was quite small. Otherwise excellent.
V. P.
You have to eat here!! And make the extra effort to sit at the counter. Amazing food. Chicken hearts were my favourite but every morsel of food was delicious. Try the sake sampler. The unfiltered sake we tried was amazing and I didn’t even know something like that existed. Great service. Warm and helpful staff. Thanks so much guys!!! This is a place that has passion and pride for what they do !
J. B.
I'd love to give 4 or even 5 stars - based on the food alone, I would have - dishes were absolutely cracking, really well done. We visited on a Wednesday and it was very busy which is a testament to it's great food.
However, the staff were struggling to keep up with the crowd, not sure if they were a pair of hands down, but it is for the missed item off our order, the extremely long wait for the bill, and the general lack of care, that I can't give a better rating.
Again though, I can't stress enough how good the food was and I'd love to rate higher next time.
C. G.
The food was outstanding. We would of stayed longer if we could but they do have a limit on the table time due to the size of the restaurant. Highly recommended
C. A.
Sometimes hard to get a table and once you’ve eaten here you can see why! The food is exceptional and never fails to be an astounding meal as my friend said when we went here “I didn’t know corn could taste like this”. We have now been here on numerous occasions and they never disappoint.
S. G.
Excellent food & good atmosphere. The food selection is great, with some really interesting dishes & the craft Japanese beers are great. If you go definitely try the aubergine & the cauliflower, they are both brilliant. Would recommend a visit!
T. w.
Excellent meal and excellent value too. After being a few times it's definitely worth sitting and eating at the bar. You can watch the chef's at work. The food is like tapas, small dishes to share, pork belly was a real winner. Remember to well in advance, they book up quick and walk ins are turned away constantly.
S. H.
Wonderful food and atmosphere and it is so reasonable! Lots of little dishes that are reasonably priced so you can try loads of dishes on the menu and have a feast and will walk out without having broken the bank. You do need to book ahead as it is small and always busy- But it is well worth it. Love this place!!!
S. R.
Me and my partner sat at the bar/tables facing the chefs. The chefs and the staff were friendly and talkative. The food was truly outstanding. The miso butter aubergine was incredible, the chicken thighs were incredible, the asparagus and bacon was perfect. The Iberico pork special was mouth watering. This food was right up there with the michelin big boys like Sat Bains, Le Manoir and Pollen Street Social. Honestly for that food, at a reasonable price point... we were blown away. The Nigori unfiltered sake served in a box was an absolute treat. Overall a perfect 10/10. Thank you to the staff and chefs for a wonderful experience.
G. H.
Ate there last night , enjoyed it so much, booked again for tonight. Service very considered and authentic. Food not just delicious, but exciting. That excitement you feel when you discover something new (completely by chance)that turns out to be amongst the best dining experiences that you have ever had. Go, relax into it, you won't regret it.
d. “. c.
I cant rate this enough. Amazing fresh Japanese street food. You need to sit at the counter to appreciate the full experience. It's not posh, but perfectly and purposely rugged and pure. Chalk scribbles of specials and japanese themed art on the walls. Food brought out tapas style when it's ready and fresh off the charcoal. Amazing selection of sake and beers. Food is incredible and suitable for vegetarian and meat lovers alike.
Website let's it down a bit, but I think this place must thrive off word of mouth more as booking is essential and they are generally very busy. This is probably not a first date venue. But more for people that want to get fully immersed in their food and share great company.
A. C.
Excellent. The food is lovely, good size portions and incredibly tasty. The menu changes from time to time but the favourites remain. The two house rice wines are very nice. Service is friendly and they do their best to accomodate you even if you don't have a reservation. Get's very busy so do book to avoid disappointment. Recommend sitting at the kitchen counter.
J. E.
Came back for the first time since frequently visiting in its early days 2015/2016 and I am still as impressed now as I was then.
The restaurant is 10x busier and yet the quality is still as good as it ever was.
Great food, great selection of Sake and whisky, great ambience all at ridiculously low pricing!!
g.
One of my favourite restaurants in Brighton and somewhere I bring all my friends when they visit.
Tapas style so you can choose lots of different dishes which are reasonably priced. The Cauliflower, pork belly and Japanese style chicken are my favourites.
It's fairly small so ideal for a group of 4 people.
E. F.
I don't know much about Japanese food, but I know that if it's all as good as this then I want more.
The only negative is that it's so popular, the staff don't really give a s*** about you. They could fill this place up three times over, so it has that kind of cut-throat, don't-waste-my-time approach. I suppose we wanted a bit more advice on what to order than we got.
Still, it's a nice little place in that typical Brighton way and with food like that, they can be as mean as they like.
R. S.
Book early! Amazing food
A. T.
This place is SERIOUSLY good. Tried most of the menu and everything was delicious but the pork belly and aubergine were particularly outstanding. Vibe was nice and relaxed, prices very reasonable and the staff were spot on. Can't wait to return.
D. P.
Great food, good service.
M. Z.
Service is very good, but the taste is just about the average
M. J.
This place was amazing! The food was delicious and we got to try loads of different dishes as it's all served small, tapas style. Definitely coming back to try more another time!
S. L.
Sensational. The heritage tomatoes were a highlight, along with the sweet potato, Korean fried chicken, chicken hearts and quails eggs we had a wonderful meal. The staff are absolutely great. Thank you and see you again.
T. B. S.
Delicious and reasonably priced Yakitori grill. Though the more traditional dishes are definitely accounted for, it's not all skewers. Korean style sticky nibbles and balanced, flavourful salads make for delicious companion dishes. The beer is good. The whiskey is good. This isn't fine dining, but it is mighty fine. We genuinely love this place.
S. F.
The food here is excellent. The restaurant itself is quite small, so booking is strongly advised. The size of the restaurant also means it can be a little uncomfortable, but largely I didn't notice how close the other patrons were sat to us.
S.
Truely amazing food!! I suggest you book in advance and you will not be disappointed!! Perfect
N. M.
PORK. BELLY. You're missing out if you don't go and try it.
L. B.
Love this place, food is very good and would highly recommend. Shame they haven't figured a proper booking system so customers can book their own table in a dedicated time slot. They would get happier returning customers and a higher turnover of clients IMHO
P. T.
Ok, so it might not be the best looking place in town, but those chicken skins really make up for it. The food here is seriously delicious, that mushroom rice is seriously addictive. Great place for a catch up with friends with a few beers, some sake and some tasty, tasty plates of food.
I. F.
The food was exceptional. Pork belly, chicken wings and squid were favourites, but I think we tried half the menu and they didn't put a foot wrong. Genuinely special.
V. B.
Small little place with great food
C. B.
Very tasty food. Amazing staff. Lovely atmosphere! I recommend!
D. K.
I can't rate this place highly enough. I have been a few times now and every time it delights.
You have to absolutely try the Korean fried chicken, it's incredible. Everytime I see an order leave the chef's quarters I feel like applauding the table for their wise choice.
The food is fantastic and it doesn't even cost a great deal - with a sizeable amount of dishes for two as well as a couple of beers leaving you with change from £50.
Special mention goes to their range of Japanese beers too, introducing me to the delicious Hitacino Nest Beer. A white beer from Japan. Who'd have thought it.
Best restaurant in Brighton? It's certainly up there!
J. P.
Brilliant food, as always.
G. M.
This place is legit. Working my way through all the top restaurants in brighton and this one is up there. The small tapas style Street food is like a taste orgasm. Highly recommend if you want ridiculously tasty food.
R. M.
We went for my partner's birthday this year and were blown away. We'd booked - which is essential - and were seated on stools overlooking the tiny kitchen area.
The menu was packed with things we wanted to try, so we ordered little and often. The Korean-style chicken was great, as were the chicken hearts (squeamish or not).
We also tried some sake for the first time - they do tasters which means you don't have to buy a big bottle - and there really was no rush.
We probably spent more because we could see all the things that were being cooked, but including a fair bit of booze, we spent about £70. I'd imagine £40-50 for 2 is more accurate if you're at a table.
Highly recommended!
P. H.
Seriously superb Japanese bbq food. Extremely good value as well. Bill for two always less than £50 with a couple of drinks.... and we always eat too much! Pork belly is a must. So are the Korean wings.
W. M.
Food was overally fantastic although some of the dishes weren’t as good as others. Staff was okay, we had to wait a bit to order because there were too many orders at that moment so that’s a minus. But generally a really nice place
D. S.
Awesome Japanese restaurant. Loads of street food served as small dishes and a great selection of sake.
You won't find sushi here - but dishes like the grilled pork belly or sweet potato with miso butter keep regulars like me coming back.
J. C.
Great taste, amazing experience.
M. P.
This place is awesome! Food was super tasty, came fast and service was excellent, we sat on bar and chefs walked us through what they are doing and the whole overall experience was tremendous. Will return and recommend to my family and friends.
J. E.
Recently went to Japan and this restaurant was really nostalgic for us. Food was delicious and for a great price. It's a small venue so it is necessary to book a table in advance! Will definitely visit again.
O. T.
Food not as great as I was expecting it to be. The sea bass was the best. Very crowded, so good if you like that type of atmosphere. Service good
T. K.
Bincho is the top Japanese food restaurant in Brighton. It has a wonderful menu, consistently excellent food and a very cosy atmosphere. I would recommend to book a table, even on a Monday evening, as it is very popular by the locals and you might not find a free table.
M. B.
Excellent Japanese food and wonderful service.
The head chef personally asked how our meal was and took time out from running the kitchen to ezplaex the specials to my partner and I.
Hot tip - sit at the bar and watch the frenetic kitchen in action.
L. R.
Gorgeous flavours with lots of the food cooked over flame. Our favourite dish was the aubergine...and we are big meat eaters but it was so delicious
R.
Everything was amazing. Food, sake, and service 10/10. Thank you for the lovely evening ♥️
T. N. (.
Love this place. So much to recommend that I suggest you just get on with ordering what you like. For two people I'd recommend 6 plates, one of which coukd be a starter like Edame and one rice. You can always order more if its not enough as the dishes come out fast.
O.
It was quite busy so we had to spend some time waiting for our food, but at the end of the day it was worth it - delicious food and friendly staff!
J. B.
One of my favourite restaurants in town. Quick service, great food.
T. S.
Remains my favourite restaurant in Brighton. The food is superb, simply put. Just make sure you book in advance as otherwise you will likely be disappointed to find it fully booked.

Bincho is a real hidden gem of a restaurant! If you want something a bit different, then give this a try! Japanese skewers grilled over open coals that will open your eyes to some lesser known cuts! Chicken skins are the highlight for me, but also try the chicken hearts…! Don’t expect salubrious surroundings, it’s laminate flooring and cheap tables… this place is all about the food!
A. R.
Amazing quality, amazing food, amazing service.Pork belly is just perfect. Book a table if you visit Brighton and if you want to try something different.
J. S.
Lovely restaurant and very very tasty food. I’ve been to Japan and had traditional yakitori and this place isn’t far off being as good as that. Great vibe in the restaurant too!
J. H.
This is just the most wonderful place. The service is exceptional, and the food is out of this world.
j. p.
One of the best restaurants in Brighton, amazing food, great friendly service. will definitely be returning keep up the good work
R. C.
Fantastic Japanese and Korean grilled food and best value for money. My new favourite restaurant in Brighton. Good selection of Asian lagers, sake, shochu and whiskey.
E. T.
Better than what I get in San Francisco, but just as good as what I get in Japan or at my MIL's house. There are two people in the kitchen so expect to take your time and it is worth it! What we loved: grilled rice ball, shitake mushrooms, chicken thighs, chicken and green onions, chicken meatballs, shishito peppers, and of course edamame. The sake sampler was amazing as well. It felt like I was back in Japan. love!
V. L.
One of the best, if not the best place to eat in Brighton!
P. d. N.
Beautiful small plates. Epic pork. Delicious tomato salad! Lovely Staff. Only mediocre dish was the lamb.
T. D.
This place is fantastic, you won't find the menu online. They try and make it as traditional as possible to a Japanese backstreet food place and it is delicious. Highly recommend!
E.
Fantastic food with amazing service! Can understand why it's so popular!
E. P.
Wonderful food, drink and atmosphere! Highly recommend and look forward to coming back when we next come to Brighton.
G. B.
Really authentic, delicious and good value izakaya-style food, best in Brighton!
D. F.
By far the best Japanese food in Brighton
The majority of the dishes are cooked on a wood fired grill which adds to the amazing flavours of the meat & fish you are served
Their concept is for you to order several smaller dishes so share & order more until you are full
I was very pleased as not a hint of sushi on the menu
If you want to try fabulous Japanese food in Brighton this is the place to go
*try to book in advance as it is very popular
P. H.
I would highly recommend Bincho to anyone. The food and service are amazing. For the price it is a great deal. They really take pride in what they do and it is a great example of Japanese food having been to many Izakaya's in Japan.
S. L.
The food is wonderful! This is what I expect from an authentic yakitori restaurant. But I really want to rate Bincho higher if it wasn't for the sometimes unpleasant staff (depending on who you talk to) and the fact that you can only eat there on booking (and almost told to go away if you don't book)
B. B.
The best Japanese sharing food! Meat and fish very very tasty!
Pork belly, squid, sweet corn, mushroom rice and the vegetarian salad! Delicious!
C. M.
Amazing food for a great price
J. F.
Food is great and atmosphere is cosy but you need to book well in advance, they are always full. The problem is that they NEVER pick up the phone to make a reservation, it is really frustrating.
D. A.
Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Brighton!
J. R.
Quirky little place with amazing food! Highly recommend the pork belly it was so tender and probably the best I've had. Will definetly be back!
L. K.
Food was amazing and the waitresses were so lovely and attentive. Will be definitely coming back
J. P.
We went to this restaurant last night off the back of a friends recommendation and the food was amazing as we had been told!
Small Plate, Japanese Tapas style street food.
i eat out a lot & this is defo some of the best food i've had in Brighton for a long time. Small intimate restaurant, with only about 30 covers. Great staff, informal, relaxed atmosphere, open kitchen with seating so you can see all the action. Chef knows his stuff!
Forgot to get any pictures because we where shovelling the food in our fat faces as quick as the plates where being cooked.
Inexpensive (approx £3-£5 per dish) Book in advance at the weekends, as the place is rammed, cheeky weekdays are easier for a walk in.
Probably just going to eat here everyday for the rest of my life! 10/10
T. W.
Some amazing food here. Try these: wagyu steak, cauliflower, tofu+seaweed, aubergine. This is really one of the best restaurants in the south of England.
H. C.
Tasty food and nice atmosphere. We didn't book but they were able to fit us in. The Korean wings are absolutely amazing
L. C.
Amazing food, great service, everything was super tasty but the cauliflower was the star!
T. L.
Closed for Xmas until 9th jan (2019)
Love this place, great food, cosy atmosphere, very affordable. Have the battered cauliflower and the chicken thighs.
Good for GF.
J. D.
Fantastic.
L.
Food was ok. Nothing out of this world. On the brocolli there were fish scales which a couple next to me pointed out to the staff. This is not stated on the menu. The man was allergic to fish.
A. P.
Some new flavours and some classics, all remarkable. Friendly and accommodating staff too. Lives up to its fantastic reputation.
T. T.
Fab small restaurant. Great atmosphere. Good food and knowledgeable staff with a smile.
Will be returning soon!!

A. T.
Awesome izakaya style Japanese small plates and skewers. Unlikely to go wrong anywhere on the menu, but the Korean style fried cauliflower and karaage are very special.
C. H.
Excellent small plates - so tasty and fresh and good value for sharing. Staff were very nice and friendly too :)
L. P.

B. M.

p.
Wicked little jap joint. They take huge care over the authentic food. Beautiful half Japanese waitress who made a great night. Thanks so much
H. M.
Delicious food and wonderful experience if you can totally ignore the manner of the waiter and would like to be treated like a puppy.
M.
Great food and good service. Of course it's more expensive than an Izakaya in Tokyo but that's to be expected in Brighton!
D. T.
The chicken skin skewers were delicious, so we the quail egg and bacon skewers. Excellent food
Y. B.
It was a real authentic yakitori. Yakionigiri (grilled rice ball) was just perfect!! Highly recommended!

J. A.
Amazing food, reasonably price, just wish it was a bit warmer
W. C.
Outstanding food with reasonable price, however service should be improved as staff is impolite and it takes me so many times trying to call and book a table as no one answers the phone.
T. G.

I think I have a Bincho Yakitori addiction. When I'm not there - I'm thinking about going. When I am there - I'm in heaven. When I leave - I'm thinking about how good it was and when will I be going back.
