we had perfect fish and chips which we eat on The Esplanade, sitting in our camper watching the sunset.

Excellent fish & chips. The chips were fluffy and not greasy. The fish was really fresh and chunky with delicious batter. My pet hate is stale oil in the fryer and this tasted like the oil had been very recently changed. Not the cheapest but still good value for money. Would go again next time we’re in town.

Very limited food in stock, so be prepared to change what you originally go in for. Oh and bread rolls tasted like 5 days old at best.

Lovely fish and chips! Very tasty, fresh and hot. My only gripe would be the curry sauce and the mushy peas were very watery and tasteless which let it down...if this were looked at it would be 10/10.

5* fish and chips but don't be caught out by their published opening times. According to Google they close at 9:30 so I went there and found them closed. On the window it says they close at 8:30 so I returned another day just after 8:00 and they were closed again! Seems they actually close at 8:00! Third time lucky tonight. Large cod and chips with a battered sausage and it was 1st class!

I visited with my 2 granddaughters 20th August. We each had fish and chips. We all ate every morsel! They were fantastic. Light crispy batter on the fish and lovely chunky chips. Mushy peas perfect. The lady serving (apologies for not remembering her name, she'd worked there for around 17 years) was great. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Wish we didn't live so far away! 😀

Visited Applebys a few times over the years&have always found them to be very consistent. Chips crispy&fresh, I particularly like the pea fritters which are freshly cooked to order. Cod&chips my husband loves it, as it is always fresh&hot👍 Don't know whether it's true, but I heard there is another applebys down in the portishead high street? & it is even better! We always come here whenever we visit portishead. Best fish&chips 👌

Good fish n chips poor quality box to put food in lids don't close no.no.mlinercto stop fish fron sticking to box of box falling apart when vinegar is added to contents some staff helpfull and polight some not bothered some issues with hygiene no hair nets worn when serving food with long hair the branch top of Avon way has no paper to wrap the box in to help keep warm esp as boxes do not stay closed very well
