If you go here expecting Michelin Star quality food or service you will be bitterly disappointed, it doesn’t pretend to offer that either, having said that it isn’t a cheap fast food place. It does exactly what it says on the tin! Reasonable food for a reasonable price, will they forget a few things and possibly make a couple of mistakes? More than likely! But if you want a quick pit stop for a decent meal then you can’t go far wrong. The fixtures, fittings and decoration of the bar, restaurant and toilets are in desperate need of a refurb and money does need to be invested into these areas of the property to improve the customer experience. I can’t comment on the hotel side of the business as I didn’t visit it.

I didn't book a table and just turned up Saturday evening, on arrival I was told that the restaurant was not available as it was down to 50% capacity as someone had called in sick, dare I say there was only one table in use. We sat and ordered food at the bar, there was a good choice of drinks available and the menu has now returned back to the full menu that was served prior to the covid measures, where many places reduced what was available. Mains food was great I can't really complain, we ordered desert and was disappointed to find the sticky toffee pudding was served cold and that the churos and brownie sunday was also served cold even though it stated warm in the menu and was served warm two weeks earlier at the beefeater in Wenvoe ( Cardiff ) My only other gripe was that the glasses stank, there's nothing worse than glasses tainted by a smelly dishwasher! Please run a cleaner through it regularly. That's the reason I awarded this place just 3 stars.

We love Beefeaters and visit it often. We went to celebrate an important accomplishment, and it was enjoyable. Charlotte was fantastic, friendly and so helpful. Jack also did an excellent job. I tried the lamb roast for the first time and it was so tasty and the mix grills are filling. We will definitely plan to return. We always have a great dining experience at this restaurant. The staff are always so friendly. We always leave happy and full! We would highly recommend it. 💯

We visited here on a Saturday night. It was busy but not over crowded which was nice. The waitress J Bond was really friendly and polite, the meal arrived promptly which was great. The menu has reduced a fair bit but still has the best dishes plus a few new choices which I thought was nice. The price was okay. Will definitely return

The Sunday Roast was tad disappointing, but otherwise the food was good, the service from Ruby was prompt and cheerful, and we enjoyed very generous portions of dessert. I also appreciated the space between tables, so that conversation felt a little bit more private. Good value for a family meal.

Service friendly but not fast! Good food for the price (£9.95 for two courses). Major snag!!! Very, very difficult to locate the entrance from the car park! We walked all round the place trying to enter but only finding fire exits. We could see in but we couldn't get in! Very frustrating. The only sign was for the Premier Inn but we didn't want the Premier Inn so we didn't go that way ... we should have!

Nice setup, service standards are poor although the waitresses I'm sure are trying thier best. Long delays on drinks, sauces, the bill and so forth, although food service was pretty fast. Food perfectly fine and within expectations.

Good start. We were welcomed by a friendly member of the team who allowed us to choose our table. We upgraded to the Sirloin Steak from Rump on the set Lunchtime menu. When it came it looked very much like Rump. It was chewy and obviously not the best cut. We asked for Chunky chips but fries came. They were changed, but it meant waiting whilst others had their meal which was going cold. The Staff seemed to disappear during dessert. We waited a considerable length of time for someone to appear so that we could order Coffee. One of the Staff sprayed a table before wiping it, but didn’t lift the condiments in the middle of the table.🤢 We won’t be going back in a hurry.

Waitress Karen bent over backwards to serve us. We arrived at 10am and most of buffet breakfast was gone but Karen got straight to work at replenishing everything for us so we had freshly cooked breakfast items and perfect runny fried eggs as well as lovely hot croissants and a fresh supply of our favourite Nutella spread. Highly recommended.

Excellent staff. Went with my family and the young staff dealt with rude customers extremely well. Extremely pleasant and professional when being spoken to in a totally demeaning manner. Those customers should be totally ashamed of themselves and the waitress deserves a medal.

1st time down this area and booked into the premier inn next door. I've stayed at premier inn's all over the country hundreds of times and you know what your paying for with the restaurants attached. So this beefeater what can I say.......well food was decent for the price you pay so not going to slate it there. Service on the other hand could be better, was rushed to the seat then given a menu to choose from. Normally you have a waiter/waitress come over and take a drinks order while you perusal the menu, Waited 20 minutes for that to happen and only because I asked when they were walking past. So ordered my drink (orange squash and water) and my food, 10 minutes later starter arrives but still waiting on the drink. Finishes my starter, plate collected and finally drink comes over 35 minutes in. Main meal comes out which was pipping hot. Overall half decent food (dont expect mitchelen rated food as your not paying that price) but service could do with some attention to detail I.e ensuring guests are not sitting waiting too long to be served.

First visit for around 2 years ! To be honest, not much has changed... which isn't a bad thing ! Food is fine - good portion sizes, tasty and not too expensive. Typical Beefeater attached to a Premier Inn. Went for brunch, was a poor selection of food out. Very small serving area with a few hot dishes of bacon, sausages etc. Things running low and staff looking harried. Was all a bit chaotic, not enough mugs etc. The food was fine, you get what you expect at a beefeater. The price is good and if you just want a meal before you leave the Inn then fine, but don't go here for an actual meal unless you like that sort of thing.

They are not as good as they used to be. Staff were great, chefs need attention. They ran out of some basic food options and it wasn't even busy. Got our bill wrong three times, food was missing an item and had to send halloumi fries back as they were hollow. Well over done. Apparently the chef likes it like that. All mistakes were taken care of but it was not the experience I hoped for and was not worth the £80 price tag for 3 people.

When we arrived there was a 90 mins wait, for a table (no reservation), but a couple who were already seated got up and walked out, claiming it was too cold. We took the vacated table and whilst we did feel a cool breeze, when the door opened we did not think it was too cold. There was a slight confusion when their drinks were delivered, after they'd left, rather than the drinks we'd ordered. Quickly sorted. However, the rest meal was delivered with perfect timing. We would happily re-visit, at some point.

Visit tonight for 1st time and 1st impressions were dire 1. We were ignored at that wait to be seated. 3 staff past us many times, then one girls asked us if we'd booked and said she'd go and see if there was a table.... she never came back!!!. Eventually a lady came over and said no room but we could go to bar. We did this but had to clear table. Then everything changed service was excellent and as coeliac was given 1st class treatment and everything explain. Food was excellent and couldn't fault anything. Thank you to the chap that finished at 9 and the chap that did my wonderful sundae. Lovely thank you.

Popped in for breakfast. The place wasn't very busy. Food was ok. Sausages and bacon a tad shy of cooked perfectly but I'm being picky. I like my bangers with a nice brown tan all round, these weren't getting someone's attention once seated was nigh on impossible to ask for another drink of juice as they were all on the other side of what looked like a faux chimney stack and never came round to check if everything was ok so gave up in the end. Shame really.

On a snowy night in February the welcome was warm and the place had a decent ambience. A very good menu albeit with no Argentinian stake (although the porterhouse was a decent alternative). Excellent food across the board. The service was exemplary (thanks Jack). All in all a very nice place to go, good food, nicely priced and a good atmosphere. If your in the area then I would highly recommend.

Went on a busy Friday night, there didn't seem to be enough staff to tables. We had to wait a while to order our food after ordering drinks so was a bit of a struggle with two young kids who were hungry and tired. We weren't offered the chance to order everything together. Mens toilets were out of order so the disabled toilet was a lot busier than normal and had to remind staff that there wasn't any toilet roll in there. Overall, the food was nice but it's just too busy and there's a lot of waiting for someone to come over.

This used to be my favorite restaurant until they changed it not so long ago. The food quality has dropped considerably compared with my visits many years ago. It's still acceptable but you can get better elsewhere for the same price. Toilets are always clean and in good order. It also has quite a large bar, which is comfortable to use.

The atmosphere can vary depending on the time, if you pick the right time it can be chill. If you pick the wrong time, it can be chaos. Overall it is good.

The service was excellent, but the food was a bit of a let down. The starter was nice and hot, but the chicken coating was dry and crumbly. The main meal chicken was just horrid. It was cooked, and nice and hot, but the texture was just wrong. There is wheelchair Access, and the loos were nice and clean.

Restaurant is busy so advise to book ahead, but bar restaurant is just as comfortable too. Food is good but can be a bit expensive when comparing other menus. I wouldn't recommend their £5 deal! Can accommodate parties, cubical & table seating. Staff are very nice.

A group of us stay for work and every night there has been an issue with the bill. We are given food allowance per person as a business account which in every other establishment can be combined and used for a total bill. Unfortunately this one is the exception. After a long day at work the last thing you want to be doing is sorting out a food bill for 15 people. Moving on from that the food is cooked well, and the pub itself is very well decorated. Bar staff are lovely.

Absolutely superb, the best Sunday roast beef we have had in a long time, cooked as requested, accompanied by, Yorkshire, roast potatoes, swede mash, roast parsnips, garden peas, green beans, cabbage, pig in blanket, & stuffing. Just ask & you can have extra Yorkshire, roasties, & gravy, (which we did),£13.99 each. Food was nice when it finally arrived, one item had to be sent back for correction and then reheating... Staff friendly. Major complaint- the hotel attached is used by contractors with vans, not an issue with the vans or the crews but they park in disabled bays (no blue badges on display) and also block access around the car park. If you are going to allow vans to park with the cars make a designated area and keep them out of the disabled bays!

Sunday roasts are, naturally, only served on a Sunday, but not THIS Sunday-they had run out :( So we ordered steaks. Two fillet steaks and my father in law ordered a rump. Unfortunately, there was a mix up in the kitchen and my father in law ended up with my medium rare fillet steak, I ended up with my mother in law's medium fillet steak and my mother in law ended up chewing through my father in law's tough old well-done rump. Normally the waiting staff come to ask if everything is okay, but it seems that doesn't happen at the moment and I couldn't be bothered to mask up to try and sort it out. My (mother in law's) steak was pretty good, as were the chips, but the peppercorn sauce was pretty watery. I heard the waiting staff talking to other customers, covering for some more kitchenular mishaps, using the excuse that the kitchen was very busy. I don't think this is a valid excuse-employ more kitchen staff! If you want a Sunday roast on a Sunday then maybe try somewhere different.

Always accomodated straight to table which is very helpful with no fuss. This is not our experience sadly in some other establishments elsewhere. Staff were fantastic and gave good recommendations. Couldn't get a table in the restaurant as it was busy but ordered food in the bar and it came out with 15mins. Food was excellent and my steak was cooked perfectly. I visited in Jan 2018 and the Hotel was having an extension or refurb which took up a lot of the car park. So getting a space is tough. The car park has been extended but has a tight hight restriction. Anything taller than a range rover won't get through.

What a lovely pub to top in for a swift pint or why not try one of their fabulous home cooked meals. They're delicious with locally sourced ingredients that are in season. Alternatively it's a great place to go in get Yourself a drink of your choice a find a quiet corner to but your feet up and escape into your latest novel you've been meaning to finish a long time ago. If that all sounds a bit contrived why not simply invite a friend get a drink and spend the rest of the evening righting the world's wrongs.
