A nice surprise find in Portishead. The takeaway we've had tonight was really nice, full of flavour and spices. They ran out of the lamb chops tonight, but we replaced it with the Tandoori Tiger Prawns, they were big and meaty prawns, and the chargrilled taste on most of the dishes really brings out the flavour. The only slight complaint is a bit too much ghee, reduce that and they would have the perfect food. This is a place we would definitely order again next time we are in Portishead.

My husband and myself went for a meal at Spicy Aroma this evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. The interior is also beautifully decorated. Best meal out we've had in Portishead for a while. Sadly we couldn't see how to leave a tip on the card payment machine, and had no cash on us (really sorry guys). We will definitely make sure we take cash with us in future when we eat there as a tip is most definitely deserved.

I had the Spicy Aroma Special, it was a great curry, nice, tasty and mild. Accompanying naan bread was good too. First time I've visited since the refit, everything was clean and tidy.

I booked a table for 1PM on Sunday and got the email confirmation that all was booked. Unbeknown to me they usually don't open until 5:30PM so the restaurant was opened for us which was a very nice touch. The food was out of this world, long time ago I had such a nice Indian meal, full of flavours and the portions were very generous, fortunately they do doggy bags. The staff was helpful and friendly. All in all a very good eating out experience.

Recently eaten in and had a take away, both were really good, they have made huge improvements with the quality of food and staff. Also liked the fact that we weren't rushed to finish and leave the table, if you haven't been for a while it's worth a visit.

This is a lovely authentic gem in the middle of Portishead. I came with family who were visiting the area and thought to check this place out as it was highly recommended! When we were seated we were welcomed with poppadoms and chutneys on the house whilst we looked at the diverse menu of options. The family decided to share starters of samosas, onion bhajis, chicken tikka and prawn puri which came out really quickly and flavourful. When it came to the mains we asked the waiter with the good hair what he would recommend, he said the jalfrezi was a must to try and the keema and cheese naan. We were not dissappointed. We also had shahi chicken, lamb bhuna, chicken tikka and chicken shashlik with an array of naan varieties. The food was presented in a professional way, it came out piping hot and we all tasted each others dishes as they all were so good! Would really come back and try this again and get more dishes.

This was our first visit to eat in since the renovations were completed. The place is completely different, very modern and stylish. The menu and wine list have been updated. Ali, the owner was cooking and it was a simply fantastic meal, with a dish made less spicy for my wife. It was a meal to compete with anything else available in Portishead. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was absolutely spot on.

I didn’t go to the restaurant but I did order through just eat and it was Absolutely amazing!! Coming from Birmingham where Indian restaurants are very well known! Spicey aroma is the best Indian takeaway we’ve had!! The chicken tikka was very well cooked and tasty the chicken madras was absolutely amazing! And the mushroom rice was fantastic the shish kebabs were the best I’ve ever had!! Delivery was so fast! About 25 minutes earlier than I was told! And food was very hot!! Overall it was absolutely fantastic and very tasty will definitely be ordering again!!! Also will definitely have a meal in the restaurant!

The food was excellent. Delicious and wonderful to look at. There was no ventilation in the restaurant (there were some air con units, but didn't feel the benefit) so we opened the window. Spacing could have been better but I do realise that this impacts on their numbers. Great food, can't say that enough. If you're anxious about covid, avoid a busy time. Which you probably should anyway!

The food is great and redecoration is good, if you're able to eat in, it's a bargain; but I'm still disappointed that the price of my take away has increased by 50% - I have to make my own Paratha now and of course they're not as good, but they're £3.40 cheaper! Also if you do order takeaway be prepared to wait an additional 15 minutes after when they say it will be ready

The food was fantastic, I had the naga achari with keema rice. It was very spicy, but tasty with it. You could taste the hint of ghee in the rice and it was seasoned and spiced perfectly, my daughter loved the gobi paneer and my son enjoyed the chicken tikka. The restaurant has been redecorated to a really good standard and feels contemporary and modern. Finally the staff couldn't be more helpful. Engaging really well with two young kids, making them feel comfortable makes a huge difference! The suave waiter was attentive and as Indian restaurants go, the price isn't bad either! Definitely the new favourite restaurant in North Somerset!

Spicy Aroma have always been very reliable for me as a person who has coeliac disease. When ordering food they are clear about what is gluten free and what is not. They always repeat back to me what is gluten free before taking my order which is very reassuring. The curries are very tasty and the portions are very generous

So we used Spicy Aroma for the first time last night (a Saturday), ordered online, selected a delivery time and received an email for a delivery time 10mins later than requested, which was fine. 15 mins after that delivery time I rang to enquire how much longer it would be and was told another 45 mins. I explained that wasn’t good enough given they had given me a delivery slot. The staff member spoke to the kitchen and another 20 mins was proposed. Albeit tummies were rumbling, we accepted. 15 mins later our food arrived with a hugely apologetic yet genuine delivery man, explaining that half of Portishead seemed to want curry that night and they weren’t expecting the demand, not an excuse, just an apology - good customer service. The food was not as hot as we would have liked but was delicious and good value. That was we thought, the end of it. A bit slow but good nonetheless. However today we received a follow-up text apologising again for a level of service the Spicy Aroma had not been satisfied with and offering a discount on a future order. That my friends is great customer service. They’d been caught out on an unexpectedly busy night, not happy with the resultant delay and knew customers wouldn’t be happy and had taken action to reassure them and encourage future orders. We will definitely order again. Soon. Well done Spicy Aroma.

Really good food and exceptional service. It's just off the main road and not easy to spot, we drove past it a couple of times. There is a free car park which is also shared by several offices and a hotel. Very popular and does get busy. As it's a medium size restaurant it was packed both times we have been. Will definitely be going back soon.

My family and I went for the Sunday buffet today and we loved it. We were the only one's in there which made the experience more personal. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. My 10 year old daughter liked it too even though she doesn't like spicy foods. We have been in the evenings as well and that was the same brilliant experience. I definitely recommend it and will be returning soon.

Excellent service, efficient and friendly. A spacious restaurant, midweek there was just one other table dining and a busy take-away service. Parking is free right outside the restaurant. The food was good and value for money, most dishes are priced with rice or bread. In Portishead I believe this is the best Indian restaurant you will find.

Good little local curry house. Thursday evenings are gourmet nights so very busy but the rest of the time you can usually get a table. Food is good quality and there some specials. They are currently having one of two issues with their new billing system so check for issues on the bill.

Once you sit down and order your food you have to wait a while. I mean a while it's a good 50 mins or an hour. Longer if they are busy. The wait time is all forgotten about when the food come out though due to it tasting so nice. Great food... ok customer service
