A. B.Stumbled across Osaka looking for dinner and wow! Vegetable and prawn tempura was so light and fluffy, chicken katsu was crisp and tasty. The service was great and a lovely ambience too.
R. T.Went here with a meetup group of about 15 people and the restaurant was very kind to accomodate all of us during a Saturday lunch-time with quick service of tasty food and drinks. I do recommend trying their combo meals that they offer (8-10 combos) each for 11.50. Also go for the sushi platter if you would like to try a few different types of Sushis.
B. L.The food and service were excellent. My wife and I ordered a number of dishes and couldn't be more please. Everything tasted amazing, was prepared quickly and the server's were all friendly and pleasant. We will definitely be adding it to our list of date venues.

d. b.Lovely place, kind staff. Would highly recommend going at lunchtime for their Lunch Sets. I had a generous portion of their chicken katsu curry, with a couple of side dishes. Ended up taking some of it home cause I just couldn't finish it! Will definitely be coming back soon.
K. M.Went here for a pre Chapter film, we hadn’t booked but they squeezed us in, so glad we got a space because the food was amazing! Nicest katsu curry I’ve had anywhere! The takoyaki was also wonderfully cooked and the portions were very generous with lots of bonito flakes! The sake choice was also great, asked for some cold sake and two lovely waitresses came out with a selection, chose one of the still ones and it was stunning. Also tried a little of my boyfriend’s meal (Pork don katsu rice bowl) and it was equally good.
In summary, amazing fresh and tasty food, lovely setting and lovely staff. Perfect combo! Will be coming back here again whenever we’re in Canton! Thank you all.
S. W.Great place with great staff and wonderful Japanese food, visited with a friend on Thursday night I had Nike Yasai Itame, the beef was cooked to perfection and my friend had Tuna Sashimi and chicken Teriyaki, all really fresh and tasty, 5 stars excellent
M. A.A well established Japanese restaurant, conveniently based in the heart of Canton. Offers generous portions of the classic tasty fish, rice & noodle dishes. I personally love the little pickles with the most satisfactory crunch. The fried octopus balls were also great (that meal was new to me!). Overall we received a good, friendly service and food wasn't too pricey. Last night they only accepted cash payments, but there is a cash machine right next door.
D. B.Really good little restaurant. Sushi was decent and they serve nice big bowls of steaming hot ramen. I had beef and bean curd hot pot (pictured). Not very busy when I went on a Friday but this was not an indicator of Osaka's quality. I really enjoyed it.

I have tried the many dishes on the menu, and I must admit I have been extremely satisfied with them all
My fave is the chicken fried rice (with extra garlic, of course.) This dish comes with a salad, 3 fried dumplings and special dipping suaces. Extremely satisfying food
I have met the chefs, and they perform great dishes which are tasty and affordable
These guys also open in the evening too

D. B.Very dissapointed with the service I received at this venue on Friday evening. My friends and I have been coming to this restaurant (formerly Ichiban) for years. We had booked a table for Friday evening and were not even greeted at the door. Once we were finally sat down we waited 20 minutes to order our food and drinks. We then had our food within a reasonable amount of time, our food was very nice as usual. If there was any issue with our food then we would have had to go and ask a member of staff for their attention as no one came to check how our food was. Once we finished our food the team quickly cleared our plates checked if we wanted any more drinks then handed us the bill very swiftly. They failed to ask us if we wanted the bill or if we were ready to pay. We were very upset that we had been rushed out of the venue considering we have been loyal customers for years and it was as though they wanted to just hurry us out. We no longer feel this will be somewhere where we will go out for dinner, which is very upsetting considering we absolutely adored this place.

I. A.Since changing its name about a year ago the quality of food improved massively. The rice in sushi and California rolls tastes so fresh, it feels like it was made to order. I love the bento boxes, they are very ballanced and I always find something new, like the mackerel yesterday.

Service is very good and food arrives quick whether you’re ordering a takeaway or sitting in.
Sashimi is very fresh and recommend the sharing platter as it has large variety of different sashimi’s. Also recommend the soft shelled crabs 👍🏻.
T. M.Love this place, I frequently travel a 50mile round trip to get their Chirashi Don (Tokyo style rice bowl topped with sashimi). It is the best sushi I've tasted, the staff are awesome too. Wish I lived closer as I'd eat here every day.
S. B.Cosy little restaurant. Decent food. Ordered some salmon nigiri and as my first dive into the world of sushi I loved it. For mains me and my partner ordered ramen. It was everything you expect from ramen. A delicious bowl of hot noodle yumminess. They only have one beer on draft, however it was good enough so no reason to complain. Found the service somewhat lacking. Our food came quickly enough. However we asked for forks and table water and both requests were forgotten about until we had already pretty much finished. Nonetheless, highly recommend.

T. C.Amazing dinner! Came here after having enjoyed the time I tried their sister branch in Roath. And yet again I was blown away with the amazing food. This time I chose to have the Ichiban box set which includes sashimi, some maki rolls, stir fried beef with sides. I cannot wait to come back to Ichiban again!

A. T.Coming from someone who is fussy with food, loves, and has eaten authentic Japanese food in Japan, this is pretty good food at reasonable prices. And no doubt the best Japanese restaurant that serves sushi n sashimi in Cardiff.
