A. R.It was our first time here. The juices were so nice! Food was delicious, so filling and tasty. I am not a lamb lover and I can just say that their mince lamb was the best thing on the plate 😊 So happy I will definitely come back!

o. t.Wow what a hidden gem this place is! Popped in for some lunch and was impressed with the great variety of meat and vegetarian dishes on offer. Very beautiful and sophisticated decor with excellent customer service to match. You must try their fresh juices they are absolutely amazing along with the rest if the menu!

J.Love it here, great food, lovely inside. Cash machine right outside incase you forget its cash only. Food came quickly and hot. Was empty at 6pm on a Monday so very chill.
Start we shared mix mezzae, thats hummus, aubergine, falafel, rice in vine leaves and two fresh baked naans. Very nice for upto 4 people really.
I had lamb chops I told them cook them less so was nice and juicy little pink. I hate a dry chop and the fat was lovely and tender with a crisp edge I demolish mine with rice a garlic mayo and small pot of taziki.
My partner had mix sheesh kabab chicken and lamb with chips also with a garlic mayo and a extra side bowl of taziki.
Normally drink a polo (lemon and mint) or fruit juice but we was boring and had cokes.
I also ordered filo filled balls with rice, mince and peas, nice a little dry but slap some yogart and chilli sauce was nice.
Definitely worth a visit food is nice especially the grill.

A. A. M.The best halal Mediterranean restaurant in Cardiff. We ate here on most days of our stay. We simply did not want to eat anywhere else after tasting the food here. The place was clean. The service was great. The food was delicious. The owner, who is also the chef, took care of our order on our first visit and had a pleasant chat with us. Wonderful experience. Don't miss it when in Cardiff.
A. A.The interior was great and was one of the reason why i went their, after searching for Halal restaurants in Cardiff. The food it self was ok but the decor made up for it. Unfortunately they only take cash so make sure you have some. We got the mixed grill platter which was good but the rice supplied was limited, a small increase it rice would have gone along way, never the less a good meal. It was full of lamb pieces, kofta, mince, chicken and chicken kebab.
a.One of the better Halal grill houses to visit with family on city road. Ordered the lamb biryani which was in my opinion, better than some of the South Asian restaurants on city road. Rice was very well cooked and had good flavour, the lamb was really well cooked and was a very generous portion size. Decor and atmosphere is great, there's a lot of effort put into the interior decor, it's amazingly not tacky like a lot of grill places. There's also a prayer space available upstairs which is a great bonus. Staff were very friendly and pleasant too.
R.Went to this beautiful restaurant during Ramadan for iftar. We were greeted and seated. Restaurant was a full house. Food was really good, kids enjoyed the kids meal, nice size portions, mango shake and strawberry shakes was enjoyed by the kids. My first time with my daughters and they said they will come back for sure with more family!! Personally the food was really good, light spiced and just what I needed. If you have never been I would definitely recommend going..and unlike other restaurants they do actually check to see if the food is okay or anything else is needed. Oh and definitely must mention the fact all the cutlery and cups are really clean so no complaints from me! A happy customer who will definitely come back and take lots of pictures next time!!!
J. N.The food was delicious and amazing value. 5 of us shared a three person mixed grill and then added a variety of sides. The desserts were the perfect end to the meal. Plus the staff were lovely! Would definitely recommend to everyone!
z. A.Sham Nights is a place where you can go if you are not too fused about food and wait times! My first experience was good but 2nd wasn't the best! They did give a discount on the bill in the end but after a battle! A piece of advice to the chef, don't pass bad comments in front of the customers especially if they waited 45 mins for food and still got uncooked chicken! We were patient and polite! Anyhow I will still give 5 stars as I know this can affect small businesses!

B. G.Just rolled myself back to hotel after an epic meal at Shaam Nights. Food was incredible. Big portions and the best hummus and breads I’ve had outside the Middle East. If you haven’t tried this place it’s a must go to. Great staff, cool decor and reasonable prices.

O. M.On a day trip with family to Cardiff I booked a table due to the 5* reviews. We weren't disappointed! From great starters such as the lamb meat balls and moussaka to the mouthwatering mains mixed grill and shawarma. The quality of the food was exceptional - fresh ingredients, full of flavour and great portion sizes. Finished off a lovely evening with tasty mint and cinnamon tea, as well as a basbousa sweet desert cake recommended by Alisha who was very friendly and attentive! :)

The mixed mezza starter is amazing, the hummous is so creamy and smooth, the bread is soft, warm and freshly baked...so good. I was boring and had a coke, my partner went for their mint and lemon freshly made juice...omg...amazing! We only had time for a quick couple of starters (had the meatballs and they were amazing too), but the smell of the food being served to other tables made us hungry again. Cannot fault the restaurant, the decor, the service or the food.

I was happy to see that locals eat here too, which is always a good sign. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed their hospitality very much. I am never disappointed. Food is always 5* ,is very well cooked and very tasty 😋. A lovely Ramadan which I’m new to. We got served some lovely dates and the environment was so cosy and gave great vibes. The staff were nice especially Amr and I had to ask him who the chef was! Maybe if we can get food for parties or weddings such as a whole Lamb which I heard was really nice. It is Dr Dadam himself who is also the manager, what I loved is that he checked up on us during our dining and made sure everyone was happy. I will hopefully revisit very soon, can’t wait ! Maybe if shaam Nights could free up some space for 20 people that would be great for next time 😂

B.Outstanding mediterranean cuisine food, hummus was tenten, koftas were tasty, lamb cubes were one of the best i’ve had, rice was lovely, however do not recommend the chicken cubes, Great atmosphere too with well done deco and polite staff. It’s a shame they take cash only and prices are slightly on the steep side.
V. X.Very good food and big variety. The staff willing to assist us when requested to change table as we were in front of the entrance and every time the door opened a cold gust would hit us. It's probably one of the best places of this kind we have tried lately and is recommended. The platter for 2 which was ordered, contained enough quantities for 2 hungry people. It had chicken and lamb shish, chicken and lamb kofta, chicken shawarma, sauce and salad on a bed of rice. Note, none of the restaurants in the area sells alcohol, so keep this in mind if you are looking for that.

M. T.Ordered the shawarma wrap. Came with side of salad, chips and garlic paste. Wrap done in a tortilla not khoubz. It was pretty filling and the chicken reminded me of its middle eastern roots. Would definitely buy again.
J. F.I ordered chicken biryani . The biryani was very flavorful and tasty , of course you cannot compare it with the Indian biryani, but it had a flavor of its own, very good. The service was very good and the serving was very fast. over all very good experience , will go again to try lamb biryani. 5 stars .
A. S.Nice restaurant. Parking is mission. Book over the phone before you go as they can be very busy. Food takes time as it's prepared fresh. They only accept cash which is not very convenient for such a big restaurant.
Portions of some of the food are quite small and food is expensive. The seating is comfortable. Deco is stylish.

J. N.Fantastic food and lovely staff. We ordered lots of starters to share so we could have a selection of different dishes to share. Being vegetarian there was still a huge range of dishes for us to try, this is also the case if you want to have mains as well! The staff were very accommodating they even give as a place to put our son down for a nap, as he had fallen asleep in the car on the way there. Shaam Nights seems to be a very popular restaurant even on a Wednesday, about the 20 mins after we arrived a few families and couples came in to eat, which added to the vibe with out seeming over crowed. We were even treated to a complimentary tea/coffee after we had paid which was a nice way to finish a lovely evening. I'm very much looking forward to coming back with friends and family next time I visit Cardiff.
Edit: I have just found out in Wales Online that the Freeholder plans to knock this buliding down and build student accommodation on the sight. I really hope this doesn't get approval from the council Shaam Nights is too good and should be saved.

Most places I visit have extremely dirty and unsupervised toilets, in this case I was astonished to see the cleanliness of it. Highly recommend you give a visit. Definitely coming back!

P.I love Shaam Nights! 💕🧆🥘🌯🥗 The restaurant interior is dripping in culture and opulence which transports you to the Middle-East and is a lovely ambience for Instagram stories 😂 So intricate, colourful and luxurious! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is an overindulgent feast for the senses. They have plenty of options for different dietary requirements! I’m vegan and always have something yummy to eat here!! Definitely recommend for families and birthday meals.

C.Hello, now I’m from London so my comparison will always be compared the likes of Sultan, Gokyuzu, Adana etc (my east London people will know these) This place is on parr with prices, a large platter for two is £28 and increases by £10 per additional diner which is cheap. Now the food is absolutely amazing it’s worth every penny you pay for it. It’s not Turkish rice it’s like it’s long grain with lots of purified butter. It’s cooked to perfection. I absolutely loved the place. The decor was also amazing. Now why the 4 star you ask? Well it’s Cash only and they have a cash machine attached to their premises that charges 99p, which may not be a lot but it’s the tactic which throws me off lol, there’s a tesco a few doors down with a free cash point.

Its a family owned business with the owner being the head chef.. or that's what he told me! Food did not disappoint..had the lamb shanks and mixed grills...which was cooked to perfection!
Only negative thing they don't accept card only cash but no big deal as cash machine up the road!

I’ve ordered quite a few times and have never been disappointed (and believe me, by quite a few I’m talking the equivalent of a small Brachiosaurus in shish).

F. N.I remember being so unsure about where to eat that night, and settled for Shaam Nights after seeing its menu and the warm light coming from inside also attracted me. The decor was quite spectacular, and the menu was quite diverse too. This confused me more as to what I wanted to eat, and eventually settled for something safe, which was a Lamb biryani. Coming from Mauritius, I have a certain expectation when it comes to biryanis, but unfortunately this one did not deliver. It tasted nothing like a biryani and the meat was flaked instead of being a proper meat portion, and the dish was quite oily as well, hence the 3 star rating. The portion was huge and I had to take some home, but I can't say I enjoyed seconds either!

The food we had at Shaam Nights was all beautifully flavoured and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is very family friendly and the decor is distinctly Islamic.
They don't take plastic card payments, it's cash only. (ATMs are very nearby, so it's not a problem). Oh, and it's an alcohol-free place which, I guess, goes with the decor.

Z. N.Let's start with the positive side, the food was good taste and quality, the atmosphere was OK.. The dessert wasn't the greatest with few selections. Most of the dishes are grilled. Sea food and fish is very limited.
Negative side, it is a cash only place which in this eara its odd with all technology available for payment. For a reason I don't understand!!!. Bear in mind, the atm machine was next door to the entrance of the restaurant.
The manager was rude, he has the attitude of eat, pay and leave as quickly as possible.
The toilet needs attention.
Not easy to park your car, it depends on how lucky you are to find an off road parking.
I gave it 3 start only for two reasons, the cash only and the management approach, otherwise it will easily get five star if it down to the quality and the taste of the dishes on offer.

We had delicious starters chicken strips which were cooked to perfection. Our main courses were mixes shish & a shaam nights mixed grill, also a few dips. Both good size portions. Food was hot & served quickly. Although no alcohol licence this was fine as they have lovely soft drink options.
We left feeling full & satisfied. Definitely will visit again & recommend to our friends.

M. H.Wonderful! We visited this restaurant for my mother's birthday meal, and had a great time! We booked a table online no problem, and were pleasantly surprised to be allocated a spacious booth when we arrived. We were served promptly by the manager (my apologies sir, I have forgotten your name), and received delicious food within good time. The portions were generous too - we were all stuffed by the end!
And the drinks. It should be pointed out that this restaurant *doesn't serve alcohol*, but thay didn't bother us in the slightest. The pineapple juice I had was beautiful, and thick - more like a slushie than just juice.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated in an arab style, the atmosphere was lovely, really relaxed, and the service was friendly and professional - the manager struck me as a man very passionate about his business, and his service was great...very efficient :)
Oh, and little bonus, there were free little sweet cream-filled pancakes at the end when we asked for our bill.
I 100% recommended this restaurant, we had a lovely evening, and I will definitely be returning!

M. L.My family are difficult to please. I like meat and fish, but my daughter complains that restaurants serving meat often provide poor choice for vegetarians. That is why I am glad that we found the Shaam Nights Restaurant.
The middle eastern decor, mainly wood and geometric patterns, is a pleasant contrast to to the modern row of shops outside.
The vegetarian mixed grill reminded me of a barbecue, with a good selection of vegetables, and a few mushrooms, well cooked and presented. Our meat course provided a selection of individual kebabs, some chicken and some lamb. Both vegetarian and meat courses come with a generous serving of rice, a small bowl of a dipping sauce to complement the mild spice, and a salad garnish.
The restaurant does not serve alcohol, but instead provides a good selection of fruit juices, freshly squeezed to order. My daughter enjoyed their mango juice so much that she tried to reproduce it the following day and concluded that the restaurant has much better mangoes than our local supermarket.
If you choose to visit, take sufficient cash to pay as the restaurant does not accept payment cards.

The mezze starter was delicious and more than enough for two people. The bread is £1 which is different to other M.Eastern restaurants (it is usually free) but it was beautiful and freshly cooked so it was worth it.
The chicken shawarma tasted very authentic, although it was in a tortilla wrap and not khobz. I requested pickles inside the wrap to make it more Damascus style and the staff happily obliged. The garlic sauce was lovely.
The lemon and mint drink was just like I tasted in Damascus and brought back happy memories.
The portions may not be as big as you would expect in a Middle Eastern restaurant but I prefer to have better quality meat and less of it.
Decor is lovely and very clean.

i. i.A family outing of three children and two adults, all the way from bristol! The first glimpse of entering sent us back to our holiday in dubai! From the floor to the ceiling, it was decorated with shimmering gold and sparkling lights creating a beautiful atmosphere! We were guided by the warm-hearted manager in choosing our food. The menu was very varied and appealing to all tastes! People who love Syrian/Lebanese food will be absolutely spoilt for choice! We had a few starters which were absolutely amazing! For main course we had a mixed platter, lamb frekeh and biryani! The flavour in all the dishes was mouthwatering and was full of flavour! The grill and biryani was cooked to perfection and all the food we would go back for! It is the best service we have ever had! We are normally quite fussy eaters, however we all thoroughly enjoyed it and are ready to go back again and again! The service is above excellent and the manger Dr.dadam and the other staff, were very friendly, knowledgable and offer a five star experience! On busy nights, it is absolutely worth waiting! Definitely worth going back! Completely 5 stars plus and worth visiting! I wish they opened this in bristol!

We shared a mixed platter (£10 per head) of lamb and chicken meats served with incredibly fragrant rice. I hadn't had such a delicious meal in a while.
Staff were so welcoming, offering us tea and an extra plate of cream-filled pancakes when we ordered two plates of baklavas.
I haven't that enthusiastic about a restaurant in forever, and will certainly be taking visiting friends and relatives there!

M. H.A piece of Syria! Authentic food for a good price. The waiter was attentive and great manners. We had the lamb kabsa which was delicious as well as the mixed grill and lamb okra. All washed down with some lovely tea and salty yogurt drink Ayran. I drive all the way from pontypool to eat here and this has been my fourth time.
r. l.We visited Shaam Nights for the first time tonight. It's terrific. We started with the mixed mezze. The hummus was lovely and topped with a delicious olive oil. The aubergine dips were beautifully smoky. The soon As were really fresh. And the bread was warm and yummy. For the main I had the lamb kasbah. Small slices of perfect lamb on top of the most beautifully spiced rice and served with cucumber and yoghurt dip. We will be back for sure!
