D. B.Good clean fried chicken! They use breast for their burgers and the seasoning is very good - a little on the salty side.
Their dips make more sense if you get the wings or strips, Korean bbq doesn’t really go with chips.
It would have been nice if you could get the chicken burger in one of their dip flavours.
All around a good place, I would recommend if you are looking for a fried chicken fix.
R. W.Clean and cosy place to eat, when busy can be a bit nosey but during quieter times you can relax a bit.
Staff are friendly and as my first time going helped me decide on a meal. Went with a 5 and 5 mix of wings and dippers. The BBQ honey sauce was amazing, the chicken was cripsy and delicious cooked well.
Fries were nice and fresh and the Texas toast was a nice little palette cleaners.
All on all a very nice place to grab a bite or go with some friends.
A. H. M.I visited Slim Chicken for the first time in Cardiff. If you are bored of KFC and Nando's, you can try Slim Chicken. Non-veg here is halaal.
They have dine-in and takeaway options as well. They have self-ordering machines.
They have Tender chicken, Sandwiches, Wings, Salads & Wraps, Sides, and Shakes. Meals are served with Texas toast, seasoned fries, house sauces & a bottomless soda.
Prices are reasonable considering the quantity. During weekends, it is crowded however, you can get a seat easily. You can visit here with family, friends, and kids as well.
We ordered a Slim meal and all the items in it were scrumptious. Garlic Cheese Sauce was amazingly tasty.

C. L.Generous portions of well cooked chicken 'tenders' (equivalent of chicken strips), you certainly won't leave hungry. Giving it 4 stars as I felt the meal was a tad salty (don't remember it being this salty at launch). Still recommended for some good chicken with interesting sides and sauces.
M.It used to be better. Prices obviously went up but that's understandable, they went up in most places.
The drinks menu though is poor, moreover fanta is like 90%water and 10% some sour taste. I couldn't drink it.

Well, being an old geezer who likes to do his pushups & eat healthy when I can, I try to stay away from the fried chicken eatery departments, but I entered the shopping mall, used the loo and came across slim chickens, Cardiff, & stared at the menu - it enticed me...
First off, the kind dude behind the counter kindly took charge of me e-scooter, and offered to keep it safe behind the counter, where it was out of the way from staff. I even asked if he wouldn't mind charging it for me, which he did so when I gave him the charging lead...
So onto the menu. I chose 3 pieces of chicken meal, which came at a good price of just over £7...
Boy, was I smacked out with the flavours...
The chicken coating, for starters, was a tasty surprise compared to the major fried chicken houses littered all over the country., and the chicken pieces were juicy, tasty & cooked to perfection...
Then the fries. WOW, I haven't tasted chips like that before. And the piece of toasted bread, don't know how they do it, but that was also pleasant to the palette. A sauce of my choice and a drink rounded off this tasty, value for money. But what I also noticed and liked a lot, was...

A. W.We liked slim chickens a lot before we turned vegetarian but then didn’t go for ages as we weren’t eating meat. Popped by today and noticed they have more vegetarian and vegan options on the menus now, so enjoyed a meal here.
P.Amazing fresh, hot chicken…had the double buffalo burger meal. My daughter had the 5 piece tender meal. She is a big fan as am I. Great relaxing meal. Will be back for sure!!!
M. A.I always go to slims with my friends as the chicken is always so fresh and tasty but Cardiff slims is my favourite one so far due to how attentive and friendly the staff is. The girl with the blonde hair in a ponytail impressed us by how fast and efficient she was and how she made sure we had a good experience. Defo recommend!

R. M.Pretty good chicken but on the expensive side for the portion sizes. You choose two sauces when ordering wings: one as a coating for the wings and one as a dipping sauce. I was kind of disappointed at the fairly thin coating of sauce with the wings, but there was a pretty generous side of blue cheese sauce so not the end of the world.
I’d probably visit again but maybe when it’s not as busy.

M. S.Excellent provisions for social distancing with tables cleaned between customers. Plenty of choices on the menu, but found it very expensive compared to other similar chicken restaurants. Our food was served quickly and was hot and very tasty indeed (fries were too salty for my liking, but good). There were very good size portions that filled all four of us up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend here and will surely visit again.

I had ordered the classic chicken sandwich meal with bacon & cheese, the chicken fillet was a good size but a bit dry, the bacon was so small that I didn't taste it until the last quarter of the burger.. shame really cause the restaurant has been hyped up by a lot of friends

c. h.start to finish was great, i called to book but they dont take bookings. it was for 10 kids for my daughters birthday. we were told to turn up and queue without a long wait. I was nervous cus my daughter loves this place and i knew it would be busy. i got there and the queue was huge. i spoke to the man at the front and he said he would have one no problem. I couldnt see any tables available while waiting so i sent my daughter and her friends off and told them i would call em when we had a table, when i got to the front the man had tables lined up and ready.i had to call my child back and he held the tables for me while we waited. this was great and made my day as you can imagine minding 10 13yr olds is not fun. thank you for making the day work. deffo be back

Delicious food, friendly staff, and a vast amount of choice. Also it doesn't close at 5 pm like many restaurants in the centre (seriously, why???) which is a massive bonus!

D. J.It's okay. It's nothing special. The chicken is nice and tender. Wings are nothing to shout about. The chicken sandwich are tasty but difficult to get hold of having been put together in the dark with a couple of mallets. The range of sauces is many but flavour a let down. Could do with a few more topping options.

A. G.Slim chickens is a nice place to visit, it's kind of like a split between a KFC and an American diner. The food that we had was fairly nice. I had the Spicy BBQ chicken sandwich, chips and refillable cup, which was roughly £11. The food was nice but the chicken burger I had was absolutely covered in BBQ sauce which wasn't the best. Chips were nice though! My girlfriend then had a different burger that didn't taste nice at all, but staff were very helpful at swapping to the buffalo chicken wrap which was very tasty!
Overall good portion sizes, great staff and nice atmosphere!
C.I love Slim Chickens. They aren't the biggest portions but it's plenty, and the food is delicious. And they do some of the best milkshakes I've ever tasted. Service is always good, friendly etc. My only gripe is that you can't get full fat cola there on tap, only the diet and zero sugar versions. But there's always the milkshakes!!

N. J.Ordered on Uber Eats and got the plant based chicken tenders. Okay food but portions were incredibly small for the price - payed around £10 for 3 plant based tenders and a few chips. My partner got the plant based buffalo burger and said he preferred Cardiff's local Greazy Vegan burger. Unfortunately, too expensive to try again.

I came before its closure and ordered a chicken burger. It was delicious. Although the chicken was not as crispy as it could have been the taste of the chicken and the seasoning was simply amazing. In fact, it was so good, I didn't even care that it was not super crispy. I can't wait to try the Korean burger.
Furthermore, the staff was lovely. They were ready to help and showed they cared for their customers.

M. R.Finally got around to visiting, and I wasn't disappointed. Upon walking in you have two ways of paying for your order, self service screens or the normal till point. I wasn't sure how ordering worked, sauces etc, so I ordered at the till. The assistant was pleasant and very helpful with my order.
I don't know if it was the time we visited or if that is the norm but, my food came out really quickly. Any parent will know this is a bonus when you have impatient children. The meals came with bottomless drinks where you obviously fill up yourself and a crazy amount of different sauces that you select when ordering. My only small gripe was the limited selection of drinks on offer, like where's the cherry max??? 😎
Overall we all enjoyed our visit and look forward to the next visit, maybe without the kids, to enjoy some nice chicken.

T.I went to slim chickens for the first time yesterday, the food was good and i loved the sauces. However, it was a bit difficult figuring out the self checkout system, thankfully a young staff member called Alex helped me. Overall i was very pleased with the costumer service and food. Definitely would recommend to try!

When ordering we were unaware that the toast had run out and was a little Dissapointed when our food came with out missing the toast.
When I got up to make a complaint I was greeted by the manager who was very apologetic.
The manager sent some additional chicken to our table to make up for the missing toast and my Nephew was even offered a free milk shake!
The manager was very friendly and polite, we will definitely be visiting this branch in the future.

Price abit steep considering what was part of the meal (chicken in a bun with way too much sauce, and only a handful of chips) my partner bought a meal believeing it to be normal when it was really hot/spicy which was not stated as hot or had heat to it so she wasn't able to eat it. Seating was terribleaand only 1 drink machine worked which had very limited variety. For the price your better off elsewhere
G. P.Mmmm. What an unbelieveble time we had in Cardiff. People are so nice there. We were torn between Eds and slim. Dined in Eds the first night and went to winter wonderland. We were served by Becky and she could not do enough to help us. Always smiling and obviously loves her job. She really needs some kind of recognition. The next day we went to slim next door. The manager. tall gentleman, was great, he talked us through the menu while we were waiting in the queue. Later he came back and remembered what we ordered and gave a free sauce to try as he said it would be a good addition for our order. I wasn’t a big fan of the sauce but the gesture was lovely. Food was great and thanks to American eateries Becky and the tall chap in slim. This made my time away with my wife ever so enjoyable

My friend said that his sandwich was cold too. Maybe just double check temperatures before sending them out.

Chips were great and the free refills with the drink. The 3 tenders were luke warm and didnt really taste anything special. Wings were luke warm also but the mango habonero sauce was tasty.
I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately it just isn't worth the price over KFC.

R. H.Just WOW ! What an incredible experience ! We ate here this morning (5th January 2019), at 11:35am. Now while I love my "fried" chicken, this place was altogether something new ! The food we had was outstandingly good and the options on the various ways we could have it marinaded and the dips we could have with it were superb. But in truth the food was only 1/2 the total experience. We were served by the lovely Kalila - who explained everything to us clearly and easily. During our meal we were "chatted" to by no less than 4 members of the team. The 1st of whom went to get some ketch up for us before I even had the chance to get it myself ! She was brilliant ! Sadly I didnt catch her name though ! Then we were chatted to by Christine and Reney (So sorry about the spelling !). As I was sharing how much we were enjoying the experience and how much we loved everything about the place, Sasha (The Manager I think) came over and chatted with us as well ! These conversations were far from being intrusive as every one of them started with "Is everything ok for you ? Is there ANYTHING I can get for you ?" The service we we received from EVERY member of the team we interacted with was excellent. I can honestly say I dont recall such good customer service anywhere else I've ever eaten. We will be returning and I look forward to chatting with the team again when we do. They are all an amazing, lovely bunch and a credit to the company. I cant thank you all enough for making what would usually have been a simple "fast food" meal out, one of the most pleasurable food experiences I can ever remember ! Carry on being brilliant !

This place is the best hands down!!!!! I tried the "house" sauce because you have to judge a wing spot on its standard buffalo sauce and far as flavor I give it 10/10. Chicken was amazing, perfectly cooked and oh so juicy! The bread was amazing. I Berliner thought chicken and toast would go together but clearly it does!!
