S. S.I order regularly every week and they rarely disappoint. The food is always delivered on time and I don’t know what I would do without them. Also wanted to say thank you for sending me free popadoms and chutney.
D. P.Came here after the comedy club. Food was ok, not bad, not good, just average, same for the service. Beware they charge £2.50 for one chapatti! I thought it was for a portion of two when I saw the price but no, it’s £2.50 for a single regular size chapati! Lol. Every Indian I’ve been to in UK (which is a lot) charge anywhere between £0.90 and £1.20 for a chapati. They also add 10% service to the bill automatically. After the next comedy night I think I’ll try the golden lamb few doors down.

Eating in is a nice experience with friendly and quick staff. Parking can be an issue but it’s in town near a taxi rank so not really a problem.

A. L.6 of us came here for dinner late in the day. Initial impressions were good, food came really quickly, was reasonably priced. The staff are polite and helpful and the atmosphere was quite nice as well. We did agree between us that the food itself wasn't that great though.
Particular disappointment were the samosas, which felt as if they were microwaved
S. A.I had never been to this place before, but when my regular takeaway closed down due to lockdown I gave these guys a go. I ordered a collection and the food and service was very good. I will definitely order from here again
R. B.We arrived an hour before our table was booked at 8pm and where seated immediately. We had to wait for other people to arrive. We where halfway through our meals at 8:15 and they started to clear the table which was uncomfortable. We also did not receive exactly what we ordered. We felt it was worth the asking portions where larger than anticipated. Great restaurant but service needs to be more relaxed. Customers who have booked should take priority over those who walk in. Did not separate bill as requested leaving us totting up.
Y. A.I rarely write reviews, but it would be a crime not to in this case. It's a quite a bit more pricey than the other derby curry houses I've ordered from but it is definitely worth it.
My food arrived with 20 minutes of ordering it so I was a bit concerned....but I needn't have worried, it was fresh!
I have a sensitive palette so can easily taste when the meat is past it's best, and unfortunately most other's in derby I've tried seem to use old meat.
The meat in my curry was so fresh and clean, couldn't have asked for better.
Everything I ordered was cooked to perfection. I'll only be ordering from here from now on.

Have been to many curry house's before but this experience tops all of the others by miles. Well done guys and if I'm in Derby again I'll definitely make a bee line to your establishment.

B.Fantastic curry, I wanted a half chicken tikka and half paneer saag which wasn't on the menu however they were happy to make this for me and honestly, I have this almost every time I have a curry and this was one of the best I've had! We also had to split the bill 3 ways so it could be claimed back through work expenses and the waiter sorted this no problem (some places huff at you). I look forward to my next trip to Derby just so I can eat here again.

L. M.Had a very enjoyable Saturday night meal here. We've been to Derby on social visits many times before but never quite found a classic curry house.
We were welcomed by one of the bosses who recognised our Liverpool accents and made us feel very much at home. As an honorary Liverpudlian himself having studied and lived there, we were treated to free papadoms!
The food was spot on. Classic dishes but seemed all fresh and homemade with care. Good veggie choices. But still warm, generous and down to earth as a classic British-Indian ruby house should be IMO, as well as having the right touches.
It's quite a lively restaurant but friendly and not packed. We didn't book, turning up about 9pm.
The rest of the staff, mostly young lads, are cheerful and a good laugh too.
Good prices on drinks and food.
Easy to get to just off the lively Friargate.
Best one in Derby I reckon, I've tried about five now!

J. 2.As always top class for food, someone complain about biriyani but I had lamb biriyani from them and it was brilliant. And their staff was really helpful, suggest me to have Desi Lamb and it was the best curry ever I had, their fish curry nice aw well, they won the BEST INTERNATIONAL Resturent in Derby award and I think they deserve this.. all the best 👍🏼😂😂
