Reviews of NALAAS South Indian Restaurant

A great little restaurant that serves authentic South Indian food, which looks and tastes “exactly right”. Friendly service too. It may require table booking as we went on a Sunday and got lucky to get a table. Their food is better than a popular global South Indian vegetarian restaurant typically found in major cities.

Visited Nalaa's a while ago and -
1. The taste was very authentic & so were the staff. Very much authentic Tamil. We were very much satisfied with the taste and presentation.
2. The chef , Mr. Ramakrishna prepared very tasty curries and we loved the veg meal the most.
3. The restaurant is lucky to have a very friendly staff & manager, especially the multi-tasking receptionist + phone operator + food service staff + food guide called HemaLatha. She did a great job of bonding well with all the customers (be it Japanese, British & Indian who were there when we visited) - she neatly explained the different dishes and contents and helped them realise what they wanted to eat !
Could do with a Nalaa's in Lincolnshire. We will be going again when situation permits.

Absolutely amazing South Indian food! ❤
Finally went after being on the radar for some time and was very pleased. The quality of the food was all excellent and the service was good. We had Dosa, Gobi 65, Bhindi, Parotta, Chapatti, lemon rice and Kerala Fish Curry.

South Indian Restaurent in the heart of Derby. Authentic food and professional service.
We visited this Restaurent for dinner tonight and the two female staff at the reception very very efficient. Food was served quickly and was hot.
Facilities are limited but it’s not an issue.
Excellent service. Well done management and team.

Nalaas is exceptional at what they serve. We were introduced to Nalaas by a dear friend once upon a time, and since then, every time we’re passing through central England 🏴 we try and align our journey through Derby in a way we can have food 🥘 at Nalaas.
I’ve tried very many things at Nalaas and my recommendation is Fish Chettinad.
Its a family favourite and dont forget the pan at the end.
Its a cash 💵 only restaurant so remember that as well.

An Indian restaurant with a modern interior offering traditional delicacies at the same time! The vegetarian options appealed to us the most since it is a South-Indian cuisine that has a stronger focus on vegetables. The combination of different types of spices was spectacular 🧡
I would highly recommend Masala #Dosa, #Paneer Cheese, and #Kulfi for dessert! Take-away smells and tastes as good as the food served in the restaurant!

From the outside this restaurant is understated to say the least once inside it didn't improve, but that's where the negativity ends. The food and drinks were out of this world and I would go as far to say that it was the best Indian meal we've ever had the pleasure of eating. Would highly recommend a visit to the Nalaas.

I had my sore masala dosa. The dosa was so good. The sambar tasted very homely. Being a student, it won't bother your pocket as well as the dosa selection are affordable yet worthy. Staff is very polite. Will go again for sure.

Do you want to have an authentic south Indian food experience in Derby? This is the place for you. Its setup in a small place and the interior is not the ones you used see in a curry house, but the food and the hospitality is amazing. Suggestion : Don't go for your traditional set of Indian menu, experiment and you will not be let down.
