Greeted with great energy. Waiters Tom and T… very professional polite, attention to detail, even through complex requests, with drinks, they smiled. They engaged with the kids too, making our Sunday afternoon, that o so special. This Leicester customer, will definitely be driving back for more of the amazing food, atmosphere. Well done Nicco U have the most sophisticated dining experience a presentation and food I have had in a very long time.

Fantastic experience at Nicco’s Restaurant. We had a very welcoming greeting and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor. The food was outstanding, we had lots of choice and opted for starters and mains. The cocktails on 241 were amazing! The service was impeccable and the Operations Manager and waitress that served us went over and above. They were so friendly, help and very personable. We can’t wait to be back to share this experience with our friends! X

Wow. What beautiful food and customer service. My husband and I were greeted at the entrance by Joe with a big welcoming smile. We ordered of the lunch menu. Loads of choice. The food was served really quickly and looked as amazing as it tasted. The prawns were huge and so delicious. The bar staff, Charlie and Sophie were so friendly and there was so much choice but we just had soft drinks. Definitely return here again Thank-you so very much for an amazing experience

Ate here for the first time last week after hearing a lot of good things & was not disappointed. The food was delicious, we had the tilapia fish & chicken momos for starters which were both excellent. For main we had a fish curry & a lamb curry which again were superb. What impressed us the most about the food was how hot it was straight from the kitchen to our table. Ambiance & atmosphere was really good, we went on a Thursday night about 8pm & it was still quite busy, Friday & Saturday nights are very busy. The service was excellent & they have a fantastic drinks menu as well, highly recommend & will definitely be back.

I have visited numerous times since Nicco has opened. One word - AMAZING! The variety of food and drink is great with offers for meat eaters, vegetarians & vegans. They even cater for children with a specialised menu. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. The Naanwich is going to be famous & I can definitely recommend it for a lunchtime treat. This is going to be THE place to be in Derby for lunch & dinner! Well done on providing a great venue!

Delicious Indian Tapas food! Food is so good that we've been a few times now. Our favourite has to be the chilli chicken and the avo bhel puri. The restaurant is stunning a great place for a special event. Gorgeous cocktails. Overall amazing place and Defford recommend it 😍

Very beautifully designed and the bathroom interior is to die for! Loved the feeling and atmosphere, for a new restaurant it was very busy and sociable but not too loud. Our waitress was very friendly and managed to keep her cool when taking orders from a table of 11 rowdy and tipsy ladies hehe so well done. Only down side was the drinks took along time to be made at the bar which delayed the waitress bringing them over (we started to order 2 at a time to allow a longer wait in between). There was a mocktail called "The Derby.... Something" I've forgot the full name and this was exquisite. The food is absolutely the best Indian food I have ever tried in Derby!!. The chicken mince dumplings were something I've never had before but I would order these over and over again. You made a 29 week pregnant lady very happy and full with beautifully presented and made food so thank you. Will definetly be back here with my partner for a meal once the baby is here 😋☺️.

It was our New Year dinner outing with our new grandson! Wanted somewhere spacious and Nicco provided that. Great decor, clean, simple menu and courteous staff. Love the contemporary dinner plates they use. Food were delicious with individual authentic taste but little pricey for the portions that were served! We ordered a lamb dish and we had 7 very tiny pieces! This was disappointing. I think if Nicco could improve on this then it would have a winning sustainable beautiful restaurant in their hands. Will I go again...yes, just to see if they read this review and have done something about it. Will I recommend Nicco to others...absolutely! There aren't many good Indian restaurants in Derby, that cut across between fine dining and stand restaurant.

We really enjoyed our first visit and will definitely be back. The food was great, and there were lots of veggie options. The okra masala was particularly good. Our waitress Ayesha was so friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the singer who was there for the bank holiday weekend.

Spicy! The food is very tasty and they do VEGAN! We spend £65 between the two of us for drinks and food. Wonderful staff, we arrived with no reservation and the staff worked super hard to get us a table. We waited in the bar and enjoyed some cocktails and mocktails. During our meal they were nothing but helpful, polite and funny. The portions of the food are a little on the smaller end for the mains and rice dishes but nothing ridiculous. They still fill you up. You just wish there was more of it as its so tasty 😋 They do take away tubs if you don't manage to eat everything so you take take it home to eat later. Overall it was lovely but it would be great if the menu had somthing to indicate the spice level of different dishes for weaker souls like my partner.

Nice interior to the restaurant and the food was generally good. However, the choice of alcohol free beers was very poor, just Heineken. You'd expect maybe Cobra zero or something similar. Also the choice of soft drinks was poor, with virtually no sugar free options. One plate arrived not clean and to charge £4.75 for 7 Padron Peppers is a bit of a joke. Overall, pretty good but needs some improvement and also it wouldn't do any harm for the staff to show a bit of personality. Also when the owners reserve spaces near the door and put customers further away, it shows where their priorities are!

Absolutely delicious, authentic food. Wonderful menu with great choice of meat and veggie options. I'm a huge fan of Dishoom, Gunpowder and Ganapati but the cuisine blew them all out of water right from the arrival of the popadums and pickles!!! Service was great and staff was really efficient and friendly. The only slight disappointment was the ambiance. I'd love to see some more intimate spaces screened off on the restaurant floor. Nobody can deny the place has bags of atmosphere but the music choice was incongruous and the acoustics don't make for a very intimate experience. Ideal for groups but not a romantic meal.

Went Saturday had the set menu it was amazing food. Everyone in our group couldn’t talk any higher for the food and the drinks were flowing. If you are in Derby you need to visit them best Indian food I have had for years.

Food was great but service a little cold. Drinks service was slow but can appreciate it was busy, however would suggest more people behind the bar on Friday & Saturday nights. The atmosphere, decor was great. Cocktails tasty. Overall would recommend for the food but was expecting higher/warmer service. For example, we didn't get asked if we would like to see the desert menus, ordered a bottle of wine which was just dumped on the table (pouring first glass always a nice touch so it's a shame to not see this here), just didn't get much character/personality from the staff.

Well presented, tasty food for all types of people. No one in the party left hungry and there was a wide variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and cocktails. The waiting staff have electronic devices to take the orders so there was no mistakes and nothing forgotten when it was brought out. The place has a great vibe to it. There was a special feel to eating at Nicco Restaurant & Bar throughout the entire place. Almost like being on holiday in the sense that everyone eating there looked as though they were having a relaxed and entertained time.

Had a brilliant experience at Nicco Restaurant. I would say it is one of the best Indian cuisine in Derby at the moment! Food was delicious, there was not a thing I did not like about it! We visited Nicco's restaurant as part of a work event. There was nearly 30 of us and they were able to accommodate us without much notice. The menu was varied but I was happy to see such a vast selection of vegetarian options. The staff were brilliant and I couldn't fault any of them. They offered us regular table service from the bar. Called in for an impromptu drink with some work colleagues after a long meeting this Wednesday and WOW!. The interior of the restaurant is stunning as you walk in, light and bright, the staff were really welcoming and were happy for us just to have drinks, and then when we decided to arrange nibbles again it was no trouble to them. I will definitely be heading here again soon as everything about the place including the food was great!

Ate here tonight for a friend's birthday celebrations. Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and the menu looked great. My only disappointment is that there are no spice levels given on the menu and I ordered one dish which had no reference to chillies in it at all. The dish arrived and it was so hot that it was inedible for me. Others in my party who can tolerate spice and heat also tried it and agreed that it was extremely hot. Other than that it was a nice experience....

My first visit & I shall be back! ZAM our waiter was unique! At first we thought he was over familiar but soon warmed to him when we discovered he had the most incredible sense of humour and was simply being sarcastic. Every dish was completely different and delicious! Served hot & at the right pace, reasonably priced! We will return.

Well decorated restaurant with a large tree lit beautifully in the centre. Banqette seating as well as traditional table and chair seating available. The chefs were also visible so you could see them depending on where you sat. Very good selection of dishes that I had not seen before, with a very good selection split between meat as well as vegetarian. The sides were the usual choice of different rices and naans. Our party had a mix of different meals. The lamb chops looked very good with an excellent salad dressed with pomegranate seeds. The lamb curry was very well received and commented upon. I had the Kadai Paneer which was very good. All dishes were spicy, but not excessively spicy. Ask the waiting staff if you are unsure as the menu did not have spice levels next to the dish names. Waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. Prices ranged from £6.50 to £12.95 so were good for a restaurant dressed as Nicco is, and for serving the variety of dishes they produced. Food portions were good as well as rice which could easily be shared one between two, especially if you have a naan. Overall, our party was very impressed and had a great evening.

Went last night , what a treat we were made so welcome, shown to our table by a really friendly waiter who introduced himself, explained the menu which included many vegan dishes which is exactly what we wanted , we ordered drinks which came quickly, then starters and main course, l had not heard of some of the curries but the waiter knew his stuff and described them perfectly.We didn't have to wait a long time so when the food came it was exceptional, the four of us were really impressed with the service, food and great atmosphere in the room, toilets spotless so the whole experience was wonderful and we shall definitely return and tell people to go there,so thank you to all at Nicco,s it was lovely.

We visited Nicco for lunch, it was the best decision we could have made (I was a tad sceptical at first). We had stuffed mushrooms, samosa chat, chow mein, and malai broccoli. We also had cocktails and for dessert we had pistachio kulfi and gulab jamoon, we also took away a carrot halva. The food was sublime, hands down the best Indian food we had anywhere (never had such brilliant Indian food even in India). Our waiter, Tom, was super attentive and very courteous. We went by his suggestions and we are happy campers! I wish I could give 10 stars, 5 for the food and 5 for Tom. Needless to say, we will be regulars now. And we don't regret not going to Leicester for our curry fix!

2nd visit went much better so now 5 stars. 1st visit opening week. The food was great, after that the waiter who brought the food dropped it in some random order but didn't know what it was then agreed with us, he seemed in a rush. The music was too loud and we were sat as far away from the source, then for some reason the track changed completely and it became unbearable for about 5 mins then went off then it's as if someone was skipping through tracks playing the first 15 seconds to find one they wanted. We couldn't hear the conversation on our table and even the server shouted "you'll have to shout up!". There were wires hanging out the wall which I presume were fir lights as we couldn't read the menu and the place felt a little too spaced out and quite finished. Toilets were in great condition though.

Really impressive looking space with the interwoven trees in the middle. The food was excellent well presented and delicious. We where here for the office xmas party, the restaurant was not packed but had a decent crowd so my only negative was that given we had a set menu that everyone chose in advance the service was slow, Popadoms and Dips were served right away the appetizers were a few minutes late I felt, then the entrees where a long time coming. So much so that everyone took their dessert to go. They have newly opened so I have factored that into my score. Great place hope they pick up the pace and thrive.

We arrived with a party of 10, the atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. I do agree with some comments that some of the staff need extra training as there is a clear lack of knowledge around the menu and dishes. However I've still given 5 stars as it's a new restaurant and it's only likely to get better. The prices are reasonable for fusion food, yes you can get cheaper elsewhere (if you want greesy slop) you pay for what you get and the food here didn't disappoint. Food arrived in a very timely manner even though we were a large group. And I must say I love what you've done with the place, the bar/lounge area is a nice touch and makes it possible to continue the night sampling some cheeky cocktails. I will definitely be returning

Had the most amazing time at Niccos for Valentine’s Day. Very warm welcome at the door and the vibe was instantly very chilled and laid back. The food was amazing, very well presented and tasted even better. The decor of the restaurant and toilets were gorgeous and it was very clean. They also had a live singer which made the experience even better! Ish was our waitress and she was lovely and always smiling, very easy to talk to, and she went above and beyond for us all night! SERVICE: Upon entry the receptionist was busy with a customer, 3 other staff members walked past without any acknowledgment, waited 5+ minutes to be seated, we were given menus and told someone would be with us shortly. One family that arrived after us had received there drinks and popadoms & pickles while we were still awaiting the opportunity to order drinks. After around 15 minutes 2 waitresses arrived at the same time to take our drinks order. FOOD: we ordered a variety of dishes to share, great portion sizes and well presented, Chicken tikka nannwich was delicious, the only thing we didn’t like was the fries, cheap French fries covered in a spicy powder. DRINKS: Tsunami cocktail was awesome, hubby’s pint was just a pint. ( if we had known this was the only drink we would have we would have ordered 2 ) PAYMENT: after requesting the bill and it being placed on our table, if then took 15 minutes to be able to pay. OVERALL: The restaurant is very modern and spacious, The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the only thing that let it down was the service, me and the hubby joked we must have been sat at the invisibility table due to the lack of service, I went to the bar to get a drink but there was no one there. Will we return, I say yes hubby says no.

So we got to Try Nicco’s on its second day of opening. This place is amazing the decor and ambiance are superb with a brilliant atmosphere. We decided to try a selection of the small plate dishes and then move onto the curries . I have to say the food is very very impressive superb quality very fresh and you could taste all the flavours in each dish . The presentation was perfect the service was perfect .
