Been for breakfast a couple of times recently, great staff very friendly and good with the kids. Breakfast a mix of continental and cooked - the cooked was brought to the table on a quiet Tuesday morning so lovely to have it fresh. Continental selection differed on each visit, a good selection each time. Very good value for money and good service. We will return!

Just had a lovely belly busting big boys breakfast. Which the lady got cooked for me fresh, as opposed to the help yourself bit.. Really lovely. Quick service. With a smile.. Can't get better than that.. Great value..

Popped in on my own as Hubby was at the hospital. Made to feel extremely welcome, despite only starting off with a coffee. Due to the wait at hospital turned out to be 2 courses too. The young waitress (Hannah) - Her service was incredible and she is an absolute credit to your company. Food was average but the service really was outstanding.

Great food and lovely staff. Would be 4 stars but the gents toilets had no soap. Told the staff, but after 30 minutes later there was still no soap in the gents. They have a sign on the wall encouraging customers to speak to staff of they don't find the loos satisfactory. Just a shame they're not equally keen to act on the information they're given.

Definitely the best breakfast in Derby. All you can eat for £9.50. Coffee and soft drinks included, good quality breakfast food, cereal, muffins, croissants... All good stuff and really nice ,polite and friendly staff. Went there recently for the first time and will definitely come back!

After treatment at derby hospital I was feeling quite down and had some time defore next session , so I decided to have my lunch at the Beefeater, I was greeted by Jade who made me very welcome & showed me to a lovely corner seat then when I was ready she took my order the filletsteak was perfect med rare, accompanied by salad and perfect onion rings,I followed it with vanilla ice cream ,waffle and cherry compote and coffee . The service was guick and very good really just what I needed thank you to jade and rest of staff.

Pretty standard beefeater attached to a premier Inn, expensive standard food, nothing special. The evening service staff were pretty miserable and service was super slow. The morning staff were much friendlier, welcoming and made a great start to the day. The breakfast area definitely needs a rework as with several coach loads of guests there was a hefty queue for food and the staff couldn't replace items fast enough.

Went for my sons birthday meal was well looked after by Keri. The food was good. A little lacking on choice because of supply issues but we were given a list of n/a before ordering. The Mallard was very clean and care was taken to keep it that way. Overall an enjoyable evening.

Absolutely fantastic experience at this beefeater. We had a lovely lad Tav look after us at our table. Nothing was too much trouble and such a smart young respectful member of this team and a asset. Went to the Mallard for Christmas day as we went a couple of years ago and it was lovely but not so much this year my son got uncooked scallop and mash the ice-cream and after eight mints where so hard we couldn't get the spoon in can I just say the staff were lovely

Big place good for family and group meals, main menu is a it expensive but they have a good lunchtime menu with some meals for a fiver! The place is very clean and the staff are lovely! There is parking and easy access for disabled people, altogether a great place! Sunday lunch is delicious and really good value and the kids menu has a really good selection , something for every appetite!

Was expecting better from here. The waitress, Kim, was amazing but the food was not good for the price. Could have got better food at home. The venue looked good and clean but shame the food wasn't. My partner had to send his food back twice. First the steak was over cooked and the second one was burnt on the outside, he did want to risk trying again

Met our new accountant there a couple of weeks ago on a Friday, been back since twice with a group of 6, nice food, nice staff, well spaced out.

I was disappointed with my latest visit here, we booked and were seated promptly but staff were not very attentive. We ordered steaks and the cutlery duly arrived wrapped in paper napkins, on opening my napkin I found my cutlery was not as clean as expected and my wife's cutlery had to be sent back because of the food deposits that remained particularly on her steak knife. When the food arrived it was very good, well cooked and well presented, I enjoyed my meal and finished with a coffee. I asked for the bill and when it arrived I asked about the 50% off during September offer with my loyalty card and was told that without a code I could not claim the offer. There was no help, no contact with the manager just a rather surley "no code no discount!" I have now cut up my loyalty card and won't be going back anytime soon.

We have eaten here a lot in the past and this was the first time since lock down. My ribs were nice but my wifes meal was pretty poor. She asked for jacket potato and when it was served the potato was solid inside, almost raw. A second was brought out, by which time I had eaten my meal and the potato was still hard, not as bad as the first but still hard. She didn't eat it. To be fair, the cost of the starters was knocked off hence 3 stars not less.

Visited today for some lunch after hospital appointment. Found parking space with no problem. Was greeted quickly and shown to my table and ordered a drink straight away. Offered a general menu plus a lunchtime value menu. Excellent Value for money, friendly professional service (Becky) and lovely food. Watch out for the crispy mushroom starter. Burnt the roof of my mouth!! I also took up the offer of a loyalty card and have already collected my first points. Restaurant was clean and well presented.

I went for a meal here with others around the end of December, 2019. The food and service were lovely, the Rossini steak with the duck pate in particular was really nice and well prepared. Natalie, our server, gave us the 5* treatment and was very attentive and kind, even though it was towards the end of her shift during the holiday period. Thoroughly impressed with the quality of both the service and the food! (The triple prepped chips were also stella)

We visited this Beefeater as we were killing time before a visit to Derby royal hospital. Was very convenient.. extremely helpful staff particularly the barman. We had coffee and ordered the burger with chips. Have to say it was great. Chips cooked to perfection and burger any way you liked it. All down to the extremely knowledgeable barman.

I enjoy the food here. When I've had an early morning hospital appointment I go for breakfast. It's very nice. The little tiny muffins are fantastic. The main menu food is also fantastic. Food is a little pricey but it's worth it for a good meal.

We were pleasantly surprised by a few things when we stopped in for dinner. The haloumi fries were a highlight, including the sauce, and the vegetarian lasagna was great. The kid's food comes out a bit hot, but the options for kids are reasonable. Since the menu is fixed by the chain, the breakfast menu is bog standard. It's functional, but not much more.

We dropped into the Mallard for breakfast on our way to Alton Towers, both my kids ate for free and my wife and I went for the full English ( and damn the rides we were about to embark on!) The time from order to food arriving was around 10 minutes, plenty of time to grab a coffee and have a chat about the day ahead. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and attentive without being intrusive, very nice balance. The food was very good too, its exactly what we needed before a big day out at the theme park! It was hot, there was plenty of it and it went down very well. Overall its a great place to stop into for a quick snack or a larger meal, from my experience I'd be happy to recommend it.

Yes it's part of a chain but the food is good and there are a large selection of drinks on offer. If you are lucky enough to be looked after by Hannah you will be well looked after. Enjoy. M

This steak place had run out of fillet steaks when we went, and while that can happen in any restaurant it took the server more than half an hour to tell us after ordering. The replacement sirloin steaks were nice. My daughter's portion of Halibut and mash wss a little on the small side for the price. Nice tasty food and friendly staff, a pleasant experience, but nothing 'special' really.

Very helpful staff. I visited recently in the rain and with a baby. They very promptly helped warming milk, bringing drinks over and directing me. Extremely greatful. Parent changing facilities were also good. General pub food and a variety of options. Good for casual dining or meeting friends for coffee. This is a great place to go if you like steaks. I've had steaks or meat in general all over the UK and very rarely have they topped the quality here. They also give you unlimited free refills on your chips, which is a novel idea. Although, to be honest, you probably won't need them because their meals are extremely filling. Every time I've been here, the staff have been great. Really, this is just an all-round fantastic place to eat. It's also situated right across from the hospital, so if you need to kill some time and/or grab a bite to eat while waiting for a patient, this is a great spot.

Making the best of a bad situation stuck on a training course miles from home on the day of my anniversary. Mrs joining me for dinner so I snuck in here an hour before dinner and spoke to Liz who I think is the manager explained the situation an by the time we went back an hour later she'd arranged a special table decorated with chocolate anniversary sign, sweets and flowers! What a lovely bunch of people, we were also served by James who was a top bloke and the food was spot on.

It was really good food for the price and they offer a refill on chips if you eat them all. And the staff were incredibly friendly and hard working.

Visited with my partner for an evening meal - service was pretty disinterested and unbelievably slow, to the stage where is is borderline ridiculous. Decor is dated and the place needs a tidy-up but it was fairly clean, tables weren't cleared fast enough for my liking which led to the place looking untidy. The big redeeming factor however is the food which is far better than it has any good reason to be. I had the surf+turf which was easily one of the best steaks I've ever been served at a chain restaurant and the seafood was good quality (again, surprisingly). Puddings are great too - I can personally recommend the churro sundae which makes a lot of other chain restaurant puddings (I'm looking at you, Hungry Horse) seem absolutely horrendous. If this place had a new lick of paint and a bit of attention paid to customer service it could be an easy 5-star eatery! On reflection, I will come again but improving the experience could make this a recommended location.

The beef meals here are superb and usually come cooked how you like them and the staff are great. The festive Turkey meal however was not very good at all. The turkey was dry and there was a lack of gravy which was the only reason some of the turkey was moist. The roast potatoes were unseasoned and the pig in a blanket and stuffing was burnt beyond what is enjoyable

This restaurant is a little drab and suffers from a cheap refurbishment. The food we ordered from the daytime menu was just about edible as the triple-cooked chips had no doubt been overlooked in more than one of those cooking processes - some were quite hard in the centre and had definitely not been cooked three times. I was particularly disappointed to see that dreadful prompt to 'tip' when I paid by credit card. If I want to reward the waiter/waitress for service (over and above normal expectations) I will simply leave it on the table for that individual, I definitely do not need to be embarrassed by a 'YES/NO' option on the card reader, which I suspect merely ends up on company balance sheet.

Don't go on a Wednesday. I've stayed at the associated Premier Inn for three nights twice in the last five weeks and on both Wednesday night's they've been rammed. Both times i've ordered food frol the bar ibstead of the restaurant as theyre so busy. Absolutely fine. However when doing this, you get forgotten about. Im here now at 9.20pm. Arrived at 7.30, ordered at 8 as soon as I got a table. Had to go to bar at 8.50 to ask where my food was. Food arrived within 5 mins (so God knows what had happened). Asked for another lemonade and this didn't arrive either so had to go to bar. Mentioned this to barman who said manager would come over. 20 mons later and no sign. This is very, very similar to my last Wednesday night meal here five weeks ago. Unfortunately I'm with work and they book the hotel so I can't eat elsewhere. To be fair, Monday and Tuesday nights were great on both occasions. Now 9.23 and awaiting dessert. I wonder when it's going to arrive...

Had breakfast at the Beefeater for the first time this week at Woolwich Arsenal as I was staying at Premier Inn. This prompted me to book another night at a Premier Inn associated with a Beefeater. The breakfast their compared to here are two completely different things. However my real quip was the woman at the Beefeater the night before. Very rude. The two young women were excellent but this one woman for whom I don't have a name really lets this establishment down!

I'll basically describe to you why ths place doesn't quite get 5 stars, Iv come to this place numerous times over the years and always the food and service in the daytime is excellent however in the evenings service goes to pot, the service is poor to say the least and to wait for whole tables food, someone's is bound to go cold and dry and it's been sat on a hotplate for 15mins, not v.good at all. This particular time I put ths down to new staff and bad timings from the kitchen not necessarily the waiting on staff. Let's hope they can get 5 stars soon we I review again.
