Lovely place. Friendly staff, had popadoms and pickle tray which was very nice. I had chicken chat and it was really tasty and we'll presented. My husband had a mixed starter with lamb, chicken and a butterflied prawn and he liked that. We shared a chicken jalpathia as we wouldn't have been able to finish if we had a curry each. It was delicious, it was hot with green chillies from the jalfrazi, and hot sweet and sour from the pathia. We had a plain naan with it and there was plenty. Really enjoyed all the food, wish there was a spice lounge in Rotherham. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

My first Indian food experience has most likely spoiled me because I may never find Indian food or service this good again. I had the Jalpati chicken with lemon rice and some plain naan. The green and red chiles set this dish off perfectly! Everything was tasty and the staff was very attentive and gracious. I highly recommend this restaurant whilst in Derby.

The first time we were served well and the chicken shashlik they brought us out on a hot stone. The second time, we were seated at a dirty table and I asked to wipe the table to keep it clean. We ordered a chicken shashlik and a king prawns shashlik. This time they brought to us just in plates, not on a hot stone . We also ordered papadam which they brought burnt and had hair. There are no salt, pepper, paper napkins on the table.

Good prompt service but the food was not all to our taste. Had a prawn puri to start but the puri was very doughy and the prawns had little flavour or sauce. Then had the garlic chilli chicken for my main which was tasty but again was let down by a doughy naan although the rice was nice. Also a plus was the nice ambience in the restaurant. Fantastic Restaurant have been going here for many years and using for takeaway since opening and have never had a bad experience the staff are extremely friendly and helpful the food is always excellent and service flawless they have a good selection of dishes something for everyone and prices very reasonable considering the quality of food and the prices of other restaurants in Derby you cant go wrong here the food has been consistent even through all the covid ups and downs the takeaways have always been lovely on time and delivery staff extremely friendly and helpful would definitely recommend a massive thank you going out to all the staff for all their hard work and thank you for all the lovely meals i have enjoyed 👍❤✌

Fantastic food and ever so accommodating. Impeccable Covid precautions in place, we enjoyed a lovely safe meal. We are all Vegan, and delighted they could accommodate all of us. The best of all, I’m a Coeliac and could eat gluten-free and vegan options here. Nothing was too much bother and we enjoyed such a wonderful meal. Called in here on spec late Saturday afternoon. Was already getting quite busy but they managed to find us a table. We had the early bird special which was quite good value at £14.99 for popadoms and pickles, a main and rice or naan and a drink. Mains were tasty although there was quite a lot of sauce compared to meat. Service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely visit again.

First time ordering here for takeaway. Rang the restaurant to enquire if any of the food could be made suitable for a vegan diet and they were knowledgeable and happy to help even recommending dishes for us. ordered a Saag Aloo and a Vegetable rogan Josh with a few sides. They arrived early and were the perfect temperature and tasted so very wonderful. Cannot wait to return :) Thank you so much!

Lovely food. I enjoyed it. Most curries in restaurants taste bland but the curry I had was full of flavour and the naan bread was really tasty and soft too. I would come here again. Nice quiet clean restaurant.

I have been here several times and it keeps getting better. The new menu with Tapas type starters is absolutely amazing, honestly I have never tasted anything better and with summer on the way I think these will be really popular. For mains i had the sea bass in a banana leaf parcel which was exquisitely cooked and flavoured. The Nepalese influence on the menu makes it one of the best "Indian" restaurants outside of London. This is a very high level of cooking . If you are in Derby and you haven't tried it I think it's worth a visit you will not be disappointed. Service and atmosphere 10/10. This is a place for foodies I will come again and again.

Definitely the best place in Derby for a curry hands down - we went as a party of 6 for the early bird menu (which runs till 8) which is great value and has a massive range of choices. Service was attentive but getting seated was difficult as our table wasn't ready for the booking so we're left standing in the restaurant for around 15 minutes. The restaurant is very loud and busy with customers so conversation can be a challenge - however food was outstanding and the service (when we received it) was friendly and accommodating.

Busy place, pretty old street. Generic curries but over colored and undercooked. I don't mean raw, I just think that many of the dishes were thrown together from preprepared sauces so that the dishes didn't quite work. The sauce in my butter chicken was grainy and on the bland side. Excellent bhaji though. Given the many other choices in Derby (in the category of classy Indian) I think I'll explore elsewhere before going back here.

Lovely restaurant and food was very tasty the set meal special for 15.99 befor 8PM was good value. I had a glass of wine but choices were for beers as well as soft drinks, papadums wiv selections of dips was nice starter, I had a chicken balti that was delish although many dishes to choose from, also had mushroom pilau rice was very nice again a choice of rices or naan breads. We were a large party with many different dishes and all were served the same time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we would all be happy to return.

We hadn't booked but it was early and they managed to fit us in but, we wished we'd gone somewhere else. The meal was cooked quickly, the starter was tasty and we looked forward to the main but, the naan was limp and soggy the cod loin was moist and tender but lacked flavour and the chicken masala was bright red in colour and again lacked flavour. On the plus side the chicken was moist and cooked beautifully. £45 plus for 1 shared starter and 2 mains a warm flat coke and a small wine, we won't be going back. Disappointing!

Just had a delivery from here. Am here on business for the next few months and for sure will be going back for more. The quality of the food was very very good. What made it very good to great was the accommodating service. Apparently the normal delivery driver was ill so the manager got his friend to deliver it, went over and above what they could of done. Excellent Syrian Beef Curry with best keema naan I've had in a while. Really good sag paneer. The Clay Pot Chicken is best described as strange. Full of red colouring and sauce overly sweet, not pleasant but staff did offer swap out and said was a very popular dish. Would visit again though.

The seating is not great for elderly people as it was a booth style and awkward to get in and out. When we asked for a round table we were told that this was for a party of 8 and we were 6 and then mentioned they would spend £50 more which I thought there was no need for that comment. The mix grill looked ok but the seekh kebab was dry the other meats were moist and had some flavour. The achari chicken was good and had good flavour. The veg dishes didn't look very appetising but tasted ok. The mix veg dish was not good at all and we never ate it the waiter asked if there was an issue and we told them, so they made a new dish and we took that home with us. The nan bread was a bit small.

A lovely little place and not badly priced. However, after getting half way through my Murug Anarkali I felt a bit ill. I won't post the photo of their toilet once I'd visited but I spent than entire night at home from 2:30am - 4 am being very sick! I don't drink so I had no effect from alcohol, but there was something very off about the meal. So go at your own risk and stay away from the Murag Anarkali...maybe stick to a traditional curry instead.

The service you get from Spice Lounge is excellent. You're guaranteed a warm welcome. The food has never been anything but delicious with plenty on the menu for vegetarians. My favourite dishes are vegetable balti, saag paneer and tarka dahl. The early bird menu is amazing value for money - perfect for pre-theatre/cinema goers.
