First time visiting today, the food was gorgeous and the staff were just as lovely. Will definitely visit again and I'd highly recommend.

Not bad but not excellent. I had a pre-conceived notion when I finally decided to eat there and it pretty much hit that prediction. The food was nice enough if not a little over priced, and whilst the staff were pleasant, it didn't feel like anything spectacular beyond people being paid to be tolerable towards you and the atmosphere was fine but nothing to write home about. Having said that, I have a particular love for indie Italian restaurants and I think most people would have a good experience, particularly families which I definitely noticed to be a big part of the customer base.

The staff were all following covid-secure procedures. All very welcoming and accommodating to all of our individual requests. The service was great and we were seated very quickly and given the right amount of time to decide our food and drinks. The food was amazing and I can't recommend this place enough. I would visit as much as I can. Perfect for date nights or q family bonding meal. Great atmosphere and the decor matches the vibe of the place.

Quite a hard experience to rate. To start with the positive our food was absolutely delicious! In a party of 7 everyone had a starter, a main, and most had dessert. Was thrilled with the quality of the food. Our server was extremely helpful and kind, although she forgot to put one of our dessert orders in. She apologized and fixed the error within minutes. Our issues were based in management. We made a reservation, but unfortunately when we arrived they hadn’t written the reservation in the book under the correct time. Which caused us to wait for half and hour before being seated. We could have let this go but we never once got an apology for the mistake. As well one main course didn’t arrive with the rest because of an issue in the oven. The manager came over and told us we would just have to wait while they make it again, again without any sort of apology. Our waitress did convince the manager to make amends in our final bill for the errors, but he didn’t appear to understand our disapproval of the events. As well we had concerns he blamed the server for the events.

This was a tough one to rate. We'd made a reservation for a party of three for 5:45. We turned up on time and waited. And waited... it was 5:58 by the time a host came over to ask if we had a reservation. While we had waited, several members of staff, including an incredibly lazy person behind the bar, clearly saw us and chose to ignore us several times. When the host came over to seat us, instead of coming directly over to me or my family, who were clearly stood at the FRONT of what was turning into a long queue, she (a ginger girl with glasses) went and asked the white family stood several feet behind us. By this time, my patience was already wearing thin, as was the families behind us as we'd been stood waiting to be seated for quite some time. The guy behind almost obliged her request to be seated, but I had to interject to point out that YES, we DID INDEED have a reservation and that by being stood at the FRONT OF THE QUEUE, WE HAD BEEN CLEARLY WAITING LONGER. We were told there was a 45 minute wait for food (at least 15 of those had gone down the toilet while we stood waiting to be seated) before being seated. We were placed on a particularly cold corner after being , which further dampened the mood. There I was, ready to give an obligatory negative review when the waiter who came over somehow salvaged what would have ended up a train wreck of an experience. He was polite, prompt and helpful. When the food came out (around the normal 20 minutes after ordering it), I had completely calmed down and was lost in a world of amazing flavours. I hadn't expected much from pasta, but this was an amazing dish and I'd never tasted anything like it. Thank you to the chef for their efforts on this, it really did also do an amazing job of salvaging what could have ended up being a terrible experience. I had ordered the Pasta Della Casa, which was amazing. If ever I see that on a menu elsewhere, I'll be sure to try it again, as unfortunately, I won't be eating it at Zizzi's ever again.

Food and service are always excellent, however this time I had the vegan cheese as im lactose intolerant and it is horrible. I know vegan cheese as a whole isn't great but this had the texture of yoghurt and tasted horrible. Next time I'll risk the fallout of dairy cheese.

Vegan options lacking and then we were given non vegan food accidentally. Staff were lovely at sorting the issue out but we wouldn't return.

We took our two young children for a meal here, choice on the menu was good and staff were attentive, my wife ordered the calzone but wanted everything spicy removed (she has destroyed many dishes this way), when the food arrived she noticed that the spicy elements had not been removed, simple mix up in the kitchen. The manager caught a passing comment at the table and made every effort to rectify, we didn't have to make a fuss. Added to which there was a lot of vegan options on the menu, which was great for our son who has a dairy allergy.

We went on a quiet Sunday evening and yet, the food took a while to come out. Not only that, there was a very long gap between starters and mains to a point where I had to remind the waiter. Great Italian Food in general. I have a few dishes and two of them I liked one of them I wasn't that passionate about. The quality and presentation wasn't its normal standard. I also rate the staff ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ because there friendliness is top notch saying that it is in Derby. It also doesn't have a big waiting time for getting a table because they always seem to magic up another table even for more than five people. Recommend it and recognition is needed. Please like for more good quality reviews . Every like is very much appreciated. 😃😃😃

Found several hairs in my meal. First one could have been mine, so I removed it and carried on eating. I then went on to find two more. Good food. Festive specials were delicious and using Meerkat meals the whole thing was very reasonable. One member of staff was rather rushed around serving everyone on his own but handled it very well.

Solid Italian chain restaurant. Food is nice enough. Reasonably priced. Staff are friendly, but the last few times we've been here the service has been incredibly slow. The place wasn't busy but we struggled to get attention to order dessert and pay. Not a quick option.

Good. was very tasty and well presented. Only negative was the portion size of the spaghetti carbonara especially for the price. I wouldn't recommend this dish if you have a healthy appetite. Wouldn't have been enough to satisfy my 5 year old. My partner ordered the pizza. It was a great size and very tasty. Would return but wouldn't order a pasta dish again due to the portion size.

We visited Zizzi on the 27th of feb 2020, for my birthday and I took with me 8 friends. as we are all students, we all have access to uni days meaning that in theory we should have been given 30% off, however as we was a table of 9, it meant we was not allowed to even though we had 9 codes. personally I thought this was wrong and the way in which we was approached when enquiring about the codes was not pleasant. I also don't think It was acceptable to add the 'service charge' of £16 to the bill without giving us a option and writing the actual bill in a much smaller font. we left a smaller tip that we thought was more appropriate as when we went to see if any tables were available it almost seemed as if the staff was trying to put us off going in by saying 'there will be a 40 minute wait on food', which there wasn't it wasn't even half of that, and that the table will be right in-front of the chefs, which also wasn't a issue but the way they spoke it made it appear to be a way of trying to put us off. The food was delicious, however the staff could have been nicer, which would have made me enjoy my birthday meal with my friends further.

The food is of a good standard at Zizzis. The best thing about this restaurant is their allergy menus. As someone with a but allergy, I found this very reassuring (and rare). Not only did they have details of what was included in the food they had set items made for people with the common allergies.

Recieved a red letter day gift and didn't know what to expect as I had never eaten at a zizzi before despite loving Italian food. Booked the table in advance which was a good idea in hindsight as they were incredibly busy(always a good sign😉) and on arrival was promptly greeted and seated by a friendly face. We were then asked if we required drinks and was presented with a set 3 course menu(it was prepayed red letter day) and naturally I opted for a large peroni, my partner a speciality gin. Choosing our starters and mains was not easy as even though the menu was restricted everything sounded amazing. I opted for mushrooms followed by the boar meatballs and the good lady chose the calamari followed by the salmon and prawn skewer. The drinks arrived shortly after and the gin looked and tasted great and my peroni was served in an ice cold glass(was still smoking from the chiller). There was a little wait for the food as they were really busy but when it arrived it was delicious and presented beautifully with a clear emphasis on quality ingredients. The highlight for me was the boar meatballs, they still had good texture whilst being tender and the spiciness of the sauce was on point. My partner really enjoyed the skewer, fish cooked perfectly and presentation was a wow factor as it was hanging vertically from a specialised stand. By the time we had finished our mains we were stuffed but we still managed to order and eat our delicious puds, a lemon cheesecake for me and a tiramisu for the lady. After settling our debt we shuffled out very happy and content and we will most certainly return. Thanks zizzi for the great food and service and thanks to the person that gave us the gift

Good food. Sit near the back, it's cold and drafty at the front/in the middle. Bar staff seem to think it's ok to drop / throw empty bottles into the bin WHICH IS REALLY NOISY AND IRRITATING WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION! Ever heard of being seen but not heard? Would have told the staff but we weren't asked if we'd enjoyed ourselves. Probably wouldn't go back. Bar staff THINK A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE PUNTERS EXPERIENCE AND NOT SBOUT YOUR CONVENIENCE.

I like Zizzi, but, yesterday was not fantastic. Starter of mushroom Brindisi was nice. Ordered a mushroom Risotto, came with chicken it, version 2 without chicken, the rice was uncooked, offered a different dish of a veg ravioli, tasted nice, but was slightly undercooked. I got about £1.10 off of the bill for the inconvenience.
