Always great amazing food but the place does feel kinda cramped. Has a nice atmosphere and we've been multiple times and never experienced behaviour that you wouldn't expect. The staff is extremely friendly and pricing is good. It's a restaurant chain so I understand the more customers the better but they literally could only fit a single more table if they eliminated the reception entrance.

Four of us went for a carvery on a Sunday. We booked online, special request was a good seat for an elderly person. When we arrived we were seated straight away next to the carvery line..perfect spot. The staff were polite and attentive and the food was lovely, we will definitely go back.

My sister and I decided to go in for breakfast. It was nice and quiet and the food was very nice. We will probably go back again as the buffet style breakfast was nicer than everything you don't like stays off your plate.

Food was excellent but she showed us to a dirty table without cutlery and so we went straight for our food, on return the table wasn't cleaned or any cutlery so we sat at another one which was and we told the waitress but I don't think she was very happy about us doing that, but we weren't happy to sit at a dirty table with food going cold. 5* if the table had been cleaned before showing us to it as that's not what usually happens here.

Really enjoyed this Toby always use a more local one but that one wasn't taking bookings so booked here . It was a pleasant change as we felt very comfortable and looked after . They were very busy and we had to wait a while for the bill then again to pay but it was well worth it as we didn't feel rushed out the door to get the next booking in

Not the best meal we've had at a Toby carvery. Meats, vegs and gravy needed to be topped up, lots of Yorkshires though.

The carvery was average. The mash let it down. It was definitely powder mash, someone had added too much fluid, it slipped off of the serving spoon. Mash is an important ingredient of a carvery.

The main thing I didn't understand why a young trainee was having to run the bar she had no help didn't know the drinks or glasses to use. When she wanted help other staff were doing other things. The poor girl was getting flustered and a que of customers trying to calm her down. I know new starters need some training but this to me was very poor management.

From walking through the door to leaving was a fantastic experience. Our waitress was fantastic in her service to ourselves. Even to coming to us twice to see if everything was OK. Its just a pity I've forgotten her name to praise her for an outstanding service, just remember she wasn't one of your younger staff.

Booked a table on Wednesday for 2pm Friday received confirmation of the booking by email. On arrival today we were informed the booking was not showing on their computer. Which could have been a problem if the venue had been busy. The venue wasn't busy so we were informed that we could be fitted in. Food was nice as usual but had to ask for some of the dishes to be replenished & the member of staff didn't seem too happy when asked. Visited here for breakfast 30th August, all dishes were available except for the Yorkshire puds, which some people seem to like for breakfast!!. Things that weren't to be found were teaspoons or those horrible wooden sticks for stirring your tea or coffee. What people had used before u asked for some I don't know? But they now have knives that you can butter your bread/toast with 'cause the steak type used for eating were no good at all. Brownie points for that.

Breakfast - is good we've been a few times, all you can eat buffet style but doesn't include tea and coffee (?) Dinner - Every time I eat here I say I'm not going back. The food is ok but I find everything seems to taste the same and its ridiculously expensive for what you get. Family of 4 and a mini for carvery should not be £80 with drinks. Staff are friendly enough though. Portion sizes aren't big enough for me either, maybe I'm just greedy though 🤷

We went on Sunday for a carvery, we hadn't booked and the staff were super accommodating. Our little boy has intolerances to milk and soya, the staff were great providing the info we needed to make sure we got what we could, the only thing our little bit couldn't have was the Yorkshire puddings and normal gravy but their vegan gravy is soya free and all the veg is free from milk where as most carverys smoother their veg in butter So 5* from me and we will be going again

I enjoyed my dinner but the Chef seemed to have an attitude problem when we all asked for child size plates as we wanted small carveries! The lady called Angela serving us, and who was lovely btw, said no problem just tell him I said it was OK but when we told him he got a bit shirty! Then I chose Beef and Gammon but he gave me turkey instead of beef.... Didn't feel like telling him! To me a customer pays their money and should have the choice of small, a medium or large carvery! And no attitude problem from the chef, I think he went and bollocked the lady who served us! On the upside... I did enjoy my meal overall so can recommend the food, it was first class! 3 stars! My Wife complained her lamb was tasteless and chewy, and she let me have some and I had to agree, but mine was fine!

The stars are for the food, carvery staff and waitress. Which were all fine but unfortunately we were told to keep our voices down which ruined the whole mood for my friends birthday. Sorry for being so happy to see each other after nearly a year!! Really inappropriate from the meet and greet gentleman. If it was an issue to be so loud we couldve happily sat outside or maybe keep children/families in a seperate area rather than making other paying customers feel unwelcome/like we were being told off in school! After that we chose to leave and go elsewhere for dessert. Also, someone else bringing your food to the table is a waste of time.

The carvery was oké, the meat was lovely but roasties were overdone one side and not done other side. It was like they don't shake them or turn them and only properly done on one side. Cauliflower was hard and vegetables weren't warm. I know I am fussy with food and not being warm but that's how a hot dinner should be.

It was table service due to Covid. So you are shown to your table and given a form to complete to order your food. The waitress will collect it in and your food will be brought to your table. Speedy service. The food was delicious! And you are given plenty too! If you order a refill drink, the waitress will ask you regularly if you would like a another drink, and you can have as many as you like and these are brought to your table too. Always love a Toby! We did arrive late, 9ish on a Friday and it was really quiet. Unfortunately no turkey left so gammon and beef it was for me, hardly any gammon given for a king size portion as that was also running low and the beef was full of fat so I only had a bit of that. Pre-covid most TC I have visited still had plenty of meat left so not sure if this is a result of that . Veg was all fine and tried the macaroni cheese and sliced potaties which were really nice. Staff were pleasant and friendly and left us to take our time, chat and chill. Other then the meat it was nice and quiet and we enjoyed our experience here.

Glad I prebooked a table using the app as it was absolutely packed. Booked for 2pm, was seated by 10 past. Had to wait at the bar. Food was lovely. Great place for a meal with colleagues, the staff are very attentive and friendly, I have been here many times. My only criticism of this visit it there was a lot of fat on the beef as they started a fresh joint, next time I will make sure the beef is a quarter calved before I choose to have it instead of or with turkey. The rosties are better than other chains and they had some soaked in butter that were amazing.

The food was lovely don’t get me wrong but the whole point of social distancing and following COVID guidelines is to not cross contaminate and to stay safe. Staff HAVE TO carry your plate of food to the table. Me personally, don’t like people touching the plate that I’m eating off regardless to whether COVID is around or not I think it’s very unhygienic especially when the staff aren’t wearing any PPE such as gloves to protect from the spread of germs/COVID. It’s very contradicting as customers are eating off the plates that staff are touching. However staff were polite and food was lovely I think even during COVID customers should be aloud to carry their own plate to their table to avoid cross-contamination and to decrease the spread of germs.

The definitive carvery for Doncaster. Generally the food is kept fresh and is always very well cooked with a good selection of roast meats and vegetables, often served with a flavorful twist. The place is clean with a nice atmosphere and good staff who are attentive but not overly so to the point of pestering, like some places. On a few, rare occasions the food has not been kept quite so fresh but that has rarely happened on the many occasions I have eaten here. A habit I intend to continue.

Firstly don't let the outside put you off, or the inside for that matter, it does look down at heal and a bit lived in. That said, its clean and tidy for the most part. I didn't use the toilets, but I've no reason to believe they're not serviceable. We went for breakfast, it was pretty good it has to be said. They're all using the same ingredients, but you'd be surprised how some Toby's muck up such an important meal. The bacon was both pink and juicy, some brown bits were available if your tastes require. Sausages were brown, something my associate loves to see, I'm not so worried. Eggs still runny, which was nice and the mushrooms weren't full of soil, believe me when I tell you that isn't always the case at other places. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 for the breakfast, friday at about half eight. The staff were perky and pleasant, also they kept the breakfast bar topped up.

Used to absolutely love coming for a veggie breakfast as they do the most amazing potato hash, however the last few times we have been, there has been bacon in the Yorkshire puds, the gravy and the potato hash. As a veggie I can't eat it however if a meat eater wants bacon in any of those things they could grab a slice and add it to it so I don't get why they do it. It reduces the items I can have on my breakfast but price hasnt changed to reflect that. Really disappointing. ☹

All veg was hot and fresh and the meat was beautifully seasoned and tender. Given the choice of gammon, turkey, pork and beef you can choose 1,2,3 or even a bit of all 4 meats on your plate. Served with a Yorkshire pudding the size of the plate and unlimited amounts of veg we were very happy and will be returning again very soon! Service was warm and welcoming. I went here for breakfast on a Thursday morning after filling up with petrol at the nearby Sainsbury's. I'm not familiar with this part of Doncaster, so I tried this place on impulse, as I was planning to visit a cafe on A19 south of York. It seemed smaller than other Toby's I've visited and the staff seemed distant and disengaged, like they don't really like working there. No-one offered to help when I was looking all over the place for the tea/coffee. In other Toby's they warn you when it gets close to the end of breakfast period, so you make sure you have all the food & drink you need. In this one it was all removed quickly and without warning at 11am sharp! Food seemed dry, with hard burnt sausages, like they'd overestimated the number of customers, so it was just sitting there on the serving area longer than it should. Fried eggs were dry, obviously overestimated customer numbers, so I had to ask for a fresh couple.

The planters at the front door were broken and had litter in and the hedges need a good trim. Otherwise a good place to eat. Goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.

Went on the evening of the 1st June, we had been a couple of years ago and it was lovely but the lack of cars that evening should have warned us things had changed. Waitress was friendly took our order for drinks and starters. Instead of cheddar bites she brought some fried meat and no mint and yogurt dip with the kofta. She brought the cheddar bites 10 mins later and some mint sauce, they had no dip, so why take the order. The kofta had chilli in them and were some sort of cylindrical mush. The garlic bread was edible. The carvery was average at best, and the root vegetable roast was classed as standard. The best I can say was the staff were nice and it was cheap, but won't be going again.

Went for breakfast it was OK apart from the Hashbrowns were rubbery, my colleague who was with me asked for some runny eggs.. Never received them.

The Sun's got nothing on the heat lamps they use. The all you can eat breakfast was great, especially the breakfast Yorkshires which have onions and bacon in. The price is amazing.
