This is a Harvesters chain pub so the menu is pretty standard fair. That said it was well cooked and there was plenty of it. We were seated quickly and our greeter explained the various COVID rules in place. Normally this would get 4 stars, 3 for the fact that it's just a chain pub and 1 for the actual food as served at this visit and that service was good. HOWEVER the extra star here was for the exceptionally helpful staff. We visited with an elderly relative and the greeter was careful to make sure that our group was able manage the small number of steps between us and our intended seat. While we were there I observed the staff helping a disabled lady to navigate the route to the rest rooms and back and also helping an elderly couple manage the online track and trace requirements. They did this with what seemed to be genuine care and good cheer. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

The food was excellent. I had the Beyond beef burger go wild and it tasted like the real thing! My other family members had steak and a Christmas meal, the portions were generous and the desserts were to die for. The setting and layout is very relaxing. Staff are welcoming, helpful and cheerful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I only went in for coffee but ended up ordering food. I had my dog with me so sat away from the main dining area. The food was good. Had a bean burger and chips. The burger was delicious. It was served with lots of tasty things on the roll. My dog was given a bowl of water.

Chelsea and Martina were absolutely incredible tonight, short staffed but nothing short of amazing. It may have taken a bit longer than usual but their bright and positive attitudes made up for it! The chef who delivered our meals was also absolutely incredible. I hope these guys get the credit they deserve. I also work in hospitality so I understand the pressures especially when short staffed but these guys were brilliant.

Excellent service from Ines and the food cooked by Neil couldn't be faulted. The salad bar was a little lacking but it was late on a Saturday night. The building could do with a refresh, but if you ignore that and enjoy the food, you'll be more than happy.

Been twice now so can give a pretty decent review. First time we went, my two daughters, my partner and I managed to bag two courses each, drinks, ice cream and soft play for under £40. For a young family, in today's climate, that's crucial. The food itself is far superior to your usual Wetherspoons meal and not exactly dearer, if not cheaper if using the right deals/menu. Second time going, made my opinion concrete of this chain. The staff were awesome the first time, but this time, even more so. They had 160 bookings, payday Friday, birthday parties and a full bar. Despite this, the server at the bar heard my girls ask for pink lemonade and managed to use strawberry syrup and sprite to make them their 'princess lemonade'. Taking time to go the extra mile during a busy shift was very much appreciated. The young girl running the soft play had a fantastic demeanour with both parents and the kids. In fact, all the staff did. The well mannered guy serving us did well handing service between the restraunt and the bar, managing to keep good patter with us and my daughter's. Price per head for decent food got us to return, the service and staff is the sole reason we'll be return customer's. Friendly atmosphere brought on by a top team of together staff, keep up the good work.

Unfortunately when I ordered from the menu at the bar. I showed what I wanted from the evening menu main and dessert I paid and stupid me didn't click on that the price was higher than expected. The staff just said we don't do that evening menu any more! Why not say something when I showed them the menu when ordering. But part from that food was good 👍

I've been here a couple of times for drinks. Always been enjoyable. Friendly staff quick service and not busy. This visit we brought the family for lunch. Overall the food was good but the experience wasn't too great. I wasn't allowed to go pick my own salad, the waitress held the bowl and served up the choices I made. Whilst it was tasty it wasn't how I'd have plated up the food had I been allowed to do it myself. It was almost empty so not sure what that was all about. The mini bread rolls are phenomenal though ! Macaroni cheese was good, My burger was delicious, chips were good. My one sticking point is the kids food we ordered. Chicken strips with cheese and a teeny pot of beans. The chicken wasn't strips at all as you'd expect but actual chicken breast grilled. Now I love that sort of thing, the taste the texture but kids don't always like that, so it went to waste. It wasn't what you'd normally expect. And the pot of beans needed to be much bigger you're lucky of it got a few spoonfuls out of it. I will go back for food though.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. Chelsea was excellent throughout, ensuring all our needs were met. The food was fine. Chelsea did tell me the chicken skewers were chicken thigh before I ordered, sadly they weren't the nicest and I wouldn't reorder again. My son's chips were cold. I ordered apple and blackberry crumble mini dessert with my coffee, this wasn't avaliable which was disappointing. Toilet's weren't very clean especially the wash hand basins and surrounding areas. Staff made the experience worthwhile and we would return. Thanks!

This is the first time we have been back in a long time as before the food, service and management were very poor..Put us right of going to any Harvester for a long time. Today we visited the restaurant with our two boys and were served by Gemma who was outstanding and very attentive. Gemma was very good with the boys, service, problem-solving, check backs. Boys got their activities books which they loved. We only had one problem which was my fault no the chef or Gemma fault. My chicken burger had a very bad burger sauce on it which I thought was something else. When I said to Gemma about it, who in turn pointed out that it was the burger sauce but still offered to replace it. On return of the new burger, they had done a completely new meal which I was not expecting. Chicken burger was to die for... Many thanks to the kitchen team on such great food and Gemma for the service we received We will return soon.....

You can choose from multiple hot items in a fry up like link sausage, square sausage, tottie scone, bacon, beans, mushroom, chips, tomato, eggs (fried, scrambled or poached, hash browns, black pudding & probably other stuff i missed. You also get to eat anything from the continental breakfast section such as toast, cereal, fresh fruit, orange juice apple juice etc. Highly recommended

We were treating our newly arrived Ukranian refugees (mine and my daughters) and Martina was so attentive, patient and calm with everything and our new guests. Loved every part of lunch. The breaded mushrooms was to die for along with the dip. My father loves the scampi, my mum loved the chilli non carne as it went down a treat, my beef burger was great. Visited for my mums birthday, eight of us including three kids. First class. Liam was fantastic from start to finish as our server- on the ball with refills, nothing was a hassle. Just been in for our monthly breakfast visit and as always staff were amazing. They accomodate me each time with a comfy couch being disabled it makes things a lot lot easier. The service is absolutly on point not to pushy and very very friendly. Liam has gotten so used to my order he inputs it without asking me what i want as i always order the same thing chicken bacon and waffles breakfast with the waffles substitued for pancakes and without syrup. Today was soooooooooooo juicy and the chicken fell to pieces with just the touch of a knife, the hash browns i ordered to go along with it were delicious i have never found another play who can make hash browns and they dont taste oily except here in harvest halbeath. First of all breakfast was lovely, the service was lousy, the staff have obviously been trained not to make eye contact with anyone, making it almost impossible to order more drinks which are supposed to be freely available with breakfast, we felt as though we were virtually ignored once we had received our food, we weren’t the only ones, several people seemed to have the same problem. What you need is someone going round and checking wether people need top ups.

We enjoyed our meal here and the staff were very friendly. Disappointing aspect was i ordered a sweet and they didn't have the main ingredients. There is also one sweet on the menu that they have never had. Maybe need to ensure they have ingredients ordered or tell staff they r not on the menu. We also found out if staff ordered wrongly they are made to to pay for it. Human error should not be made to pay for.

We came in as a family of 4 and as soon we we arrived it was clear it was busy. The girl who welcomed us in took us to our table in a hurry as there were another 3 or 4 sets of people waiting to be seated. Once we were sat down, we were welcomed by another member of staff who cold not have been nicer and more welcoming! I believe her name was Chelsea. She spoke to the children wonderfully and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome, although she was very busy. She checked in periodically and apologised regularly for the waits. The food was perfect, exactly what you would expect from the Harvester. Hot and plenty of it! We paid via the app which was easy but again Chelsea checked in and made sure it all went through okay as there had been issues with it recently, then once we were in our car and about to drive off, Chelsea came running out with a cherished teddy that our son had left behind, which was above and beyond! Especially as she was so busy! Given this was a busy night our experience could have been very different but the member of staff looking after us made it an enjoyable evening and we all left very happy and full.

Visited 27/05/19. Perfectly pleasant except one of us was sent a breakfast with meat sausage despite asking for vegetarian. The waitress came to our table with it then immediately realised so returned it to the kitchen for it to be replaced. Surprised she only realised when she got to our table and not beforehand. The wait for the vegetarian replacement was quite long and the remaining items of food on the plate were clearly left not under the hotplate because they weren’t too warm. However for the rest of us our food was delicious.

We have come here quite a few times and we do feel its worth visiting. Food is usually good quality, staff are friendly and helpful, its a good location, car park is big enough. Normally its pretty clean and tidy. Taste of the ice cream has improved which is great!! However there are key issues we seem to keep having. The first is often there will be things on the menu that arent available, and often something like the rotisserie chicken which comes in multiple dishes. Sometimes you dont even get your second choice, but your third, because of this. Its frustrating. Service can at times be a bit slow, they could do with having more staff to speed things up. It is worth booking too as sometimes the wait can be a bit longer for a table (Sometimes you're even waiting when there are multiple tables free, so perhaps its more a staffing issue again?). However, we do keep coming back here because overall its a nice, friendly place that has (usually) good quality, good value food.

They have improved the menu and selection available at the salad bar. Only negative I can give is when I asked for a straw for my son the waitress that I asked was quiet rude when answering me. I spoke to the manager and was informed they no longer supply straws and he dealt with the waitress.

Sounds great, but the shine slightly taken off when you find that you can't get a coffee unless you pay almost £3 for "unlimited refills", neither can you have a glass of fruit juice from the continental breakfast bar unless you pay the £3, because they keep the glasses behind the bar. Nice food, but expect to pay £8 unless you're planning a breakfast without anything liquid!

Recently had a funeral to arrange and due to the time of year the usual function venues were unavailable. Phoned the Harvester and they kindly put on a buffet for us. Could not believe the abundance of food they put out and the price they certainly went out of there way to help us. Can only say a big thank you .
