A. I.Up from Kilmarnock to see the football today and we were looking for some where to get a bite to eat. Saw Marini's as we drove past so I checked the reviews and was a bit iffy about going in but I'm glad I did. The food was fresh and was tasty and well cooked. I had 2 huge sausages and my hubby had a nice bit of dressed fish and the chips were nice chunky chips with very little crispy ones........just like our favourite chippy back home.......oh and well better then the football game lol
A. S.Placed an order to collect on a Saturday evening - couple of fish suppers, Margherita pizza and small chips. Was ready about 5 minutes after I got there, didn't have to wait long. Customers were being sensible and everyone was keeping to social distancing with people waiting outside if they could see that distancing wasn't possible with the number of folk already in the shop. The food was piping hot and tasted great, was our first chippy since before lockdown began so expectations were high!! Service was good as well the staff were busy but clearly had everything in order.
S.Food always fresh and tasty. . Staff polite and friendly. Good safety in place but several customers guys in 30s bracket no masks when we were in. They clearly had couple beers. How do staff police that. Sign up saying be asked to leave if no mask as a deterrent but so hard for staff to manage. Same in all shops of course.

M. L.Food is good. But the fact you can't order a collection on the 'weekend' is a bit off! Especially since at 3.50pm they are hardly likely to be busy and it's the biggest lot of BS I've heard, I myself worked in chippies for yrs and have never heard such rubbish! Also since when did a Friday become a weekend? Last time checked it was a weekday! The reason for order and collect was I will have my disabled son with me, he gets distressed when he has to wait! I'm not complaining about waiting as food is made fresh, just not waiting with him as he gets upset by it. Poor show unfortunately!
J. B.Stopped off on the way home after playing at Burntisland Golf Club. I have to say I was impressed with my serving, not having eaten all day I went for the large haddock and chips and was very surprised to see three lovely golden battered fillets atop my chips along with a portion of coleslaw and some jalapeno poppers.
The poppers needed a little longer but the rest tasted fantastic and not too greasy either. The staff were lovely and couldn't have apologised more for the poppers not being perfect, offering a completely new portion rather than the reheat of the current portion I insisted on.
All in all definitely worth a try if you are in the area.😊
D. M.Had the haggis and chips. When asked for brown sauce, I suggested a bit more (previously they were very stingy) so this time, the food was swimming in sauce...I guess it was one extreme to another, so I should have kept my mouth shut.
Overall, not a bad chippy and on a good day this is the best for miles.

C.I like this chip shop and will go again but will never order Onions Rings again - wee bit gutted now I’ve opened box to find small onion flavoured rings like you buy frozen cheap at Iceland. I expected chip shop onion rings - actual onions dipped in batter. Yuk !
J. G.I can only comment on fried food and pizza from here. Both 'fine' but nothing special. I'm yet to find a chippy in or around Dunfermline that is something special. No card payments under £5 too so remember your change if you're just popping in for a single or some chips.

A. C.Lovely fish and chips but been twice now and they've got the order wrong both times! That's one downside of cooking everything fresh - not wanting to wait another 20 minutes while they redo it!

The most remarkable thing about this chip shop is its lunchtime menu (Mon to Sat 12 till 3) where all "Suppers" except fish can be had for the princely sum of £2.99! Yep haggis, black/white or red puddings, jumbo sausage (2), smoked sausage, chipsteak, king rib, hamburger, mince or steak pie, chicken burger, spring roll, cheeseburger, gammon steak and chicken leg/breast or nugget bites...all with a very generous helping of lovely cooked chips for £2.99! It's no different from the standard menu other than the lunchtime price. Comically, a wee bit of a peculiarity is that 'coleslaw' seems to be standard with the Fish Suppers which is fine if you swing that way, but for me...nnnno so much! (yuch! 😖 Lol). On the other hand, it might just be your cup of tea and a healthy option to boot as one of your 5 a day! 😁. If like me, you like your fish supper without such refinements...tell them so, when you order. Fish understandably costs a little extra...currently @£4.10 for a 4 to 5oz haddock "small supper". A large 8 to 10oz haddock is a bit more expensive as you'd expect but Marini's fish is beautifully cooked and tastes marvelous. Marinis also make their own fresh oven baked pizzas on the premises. They are very popular and are also included in the £2.99 lunchtime menu (freshly baked half pizza and chips). As well as all the usual sides of mushy peas, curry sauce etc Marini's also offer pasta dishes like mac 'n' cheese, spaghetti bolognese and the likes so the choices you have here are much more than your average chippy. Another unusual option is the availability of indoor, stooled tables, where you can eat what you bought on the premises at no extra charge. When you've finished your Coleslawed Fish Supper, 17 different flavours of wonderfully smooth, sweet, creamy "Equi's" ice cream...which I can highly recommend...awaits your taste buds! The staff at Marini's are warm, friendly, polite and helpful which is always a big plus for me whether it's a full blown fancy wined restaurant or a place where you can take your family for a tasty meal on a pocket friendly budget. With the generous portions of Marini's lunchtime menu, a large family could eat heartily on a budget of say £20. The Jumbo Sausage Supper for example could easily feed 2 "non demanding children" but the variety of the £2.99 menu is so broad that satisfaction is guaranteed if you study it well. The menu is available at the counter but also as a PDF online if you want to be prepared. There is much to be admired about this Rosyth chippy and I give it full marks because of this "muchness". Hope this helps.
