Had a lovely birthday lunch...the waiting staff are all so helpful and friendly. I had the prawn tempura skewers from the specials menu followed by Vegetable Lasagne, both meals were super tasty. Highly recommend The Canmore for food or just drinks... will definitely be back soon

Went with a party of 6 of us. The food was amazing. The service was very good. There was a great selection of Gin and other Spirits. I had the beef danube .... melt in the mouth honestly. I will be back and I will review again. The whole building is beautiful. Caters for weddings etc. I'll find out more nxt time and take some pics to share.

We'd travelled from Dumfries for the dentist. We were starving and as the Canmore was 2 mins walk from dentist we decided to pop in for lunch. We hadn't pre booked. We were seen to straight away. Plenty to choose from on the menu. I have to say the bar staff and lady serving us were so friendly and welcoming. The French onion rings are the best I've ever had and I'm 58! The quantity were very good in fact so good neither of us could finish our main course. My daughter had pizza and I had haddock which was lovely and fresh and light. Said we'd be back in 6 months! Would highly recommend.

Arrived 1700hrs on the 15th July. Had a look at menu and realised that there was a steak deal with a bottle of wine, however it started at 1800hrs. Asked if it was possible to have the deal. Manager and staff were more than happy to oblige. Absolutely brilliant well cooked steak and trimmings. Blue cheese sauce was amazing as was the peppercorn sauce. Bottle of wine went down a treat and was good quality. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. After meal sat outside on the balcony with the remaining wine in the evening sun. Would highly recommend the Canmore for an evening meal and a few drinks. Will definitely be back soon.

Really nice hand made food. Drinks and cocktails were great. Only slight disappointment was the Philly Cheese Steak Loaded Fries were more like Beef Stroganoff on some normal chips. Was tasty but not as advertised. Tapas option is a really good idea too

My first time there, booking had gotten muddled so we were put on the terrace. Bit of noise for the pub next door but they had music playing on the terrace so wasn't bad. Staff were very friendly and approachable and came out regularly to take drink orders. Had a menu for cocktails, gin and wine but would be helpful if there was a general bar one as well. All things considered I would definitely go back

We booked a table for a work event with 10+ guests. Among the party there was 2 vegan, 2 gluten free, 2 vegetarian, 1 nut allergy, I daily allergy and 1 pescatarian. As an ex restaurant staff worker I know that’s a lot to get right especially when those allergies and food preferences overlap. The head chef himself phoned to discuss menu options for the party making sure that there was plenty on offer to all guests. He made up individual starters and came in early to prep gluten free lasagne ahead of our parties arrival. The staff took extra care with our order to make sure everything was correct and the service was excellent. Oh and everything was delicious - food and drinks. 15/10 would recommend this place.

Food was amazing. Definitely 5 star. Staff were so nice and always making sure everything was top notch. Crunchy home made bread. Perfectly cooked pasta, meat and veg. Lovely drinks too. Can't fault the experience at all in the slightest. Highly recommend.

I had my husbands 70th in the Canmore. There was 20 guests for a meal but unfortunately the meal was not good for alot of them. I did complain and they took some money of the bill and my husband and i got a free drink but that did not makeup for the disappointment of the meal.The staff were excellent and we had a room to ourselves which was also great. However the poor meal will stop us returning in the future.

Just opened in November, I was excited to give this place a try. Its a quiet little pub with a creative menu, offering a decent vegetarian option. I ordered the steak sandwich with chips and a salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and the toasted bread was lovely. The portion size was incredibly generous for a lunch menu item! I'm happy to say the salad was also big, dressed and fresh. My mother had the gammon steak and said it was lovely. I'm happy I gave them a try, who evers in the kitchen is doing a spiffing job.

Excellent food and the haggis pizza has nothing to envy to the Italian one. Really good risotto too. Local also suitable for children. Saved as a favorite! (Original) Abbiamo trascorso un sereno e graditissimo pranzo. La signora bionda che ci ha servito, probabilmente la proprietaria, è stata veramente carina e gentile. Servizio impeccabile, veloce e cordiale. Cibo ottimo e la pizza all'haggis non ha niente da invidiare a quella italiana. Anche il risotto veramente buono. Locale adatto anche per i bambini. Salvato tra i preferiti!
