Reviews of The Rabbit Hole

The 1920’s inspired restaurant off the beaten track doesn’t disappoint. We ate in the dim sum lounge and had Asian tapas and it was amazing. Excellent choice on the menu, staff was excellent. Also enjoyed watching people getting confused on how to get in the restaurant. Upstairs in the restaurant is unlike anything else in Durham so worth checking out the a la carte menu. It has the wow factor that a lot of places in Durham lacks.

Lovely intimate speak easy vibe. Staff very attentive and helpful. Everyone in a party of 12 enjoyed the food and the evening. The light up menus perfect.... saved us doing the whole middle aged mum thing and getting phone light on to read 😆.

A great lunch menu - we got three small dishes and a side to share between two of us. Service was friendly too, and relatively quick

Food was amazing our first time trying this place will definitely be back. Very attentive staff. Only one small gripe, the tables are very small

Such a beautiful restaurant, decor is so unique and food was amazing. Cocktails were also delicious! Whole place felt magical!

This is a couples venue … there are only a few tables for more than two, so be prepared to be stuck in the front bar rather than the main restaurant if you have a group. The menu looks great but the preparation didn’t match the menu; a bit pricey but I like the fusion concept. Starters were excellent, the mains didn’t maintain the standard. Excellent service … give it a try … I may have just had the night the chef was off.

Amazing food. Fabulous setting and excellent service. Would 100% recommend and we'll definitely be back.

The starters were really good so had great hopes for the main courses. However, we were very disappointed with two of the four dishes - the beef was bland and the duck was overcooked and dry. The fish and special fried rice were good. All up, thought it was overpriced for what we got. Recommend just having starters and skipping mains.

The food here is exceptional, matched only by the thoroughly immersive decor and theme. Staff are ridiculously helpful and go when live music is on if you can. Best night out in Durham.
